Exporting Track Changes to Word no longer works

Just like it says in the subject line: It used to be that I could get a Word doc with Track Changes on and comments from my editor, do my own changes/add comments, then export it as a Word doc no problem. Now Pages either refuses to export the document or mangles it when exporting, causing certain changes to be automatically accepted or declined.
I was hoping that today's iCloud update for iWork would have this little bug fix in it, but no luck. Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix it?

I think your problem could be a simple one of corrupt preferences. I think Yvan's script removes them, but maybe not. When something that used to work stops doing so, the most likely culprit is corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.

Hyperlinks in PDFs made from Word no longer work

PDFs made from Word documents containing hyperlinks used to be no problem. I can still make PDFs from Word (using the 'Save as PDF' in the print driver), and the links show up as underlined blue text, but they no longer work.
It's been several months since I last made a Word doc with links and successfully converted it to PDF in this manner, but I can't imagine what might have changed.
Any ideas?

Try to redo the default browser (i.e make IE the default and then let Firefox do it again).

Drag and Drop export of vcards to Mail no longer works in Snow Leopard

In 10.5, you could drag a vcard from the Address Book application, drop it on the Mail icon on the dock, and the vcard would be automatically attached to a new mail message. This no longer works in 10.6. Tested on a G4 iMac running Leopard and a Mac Pro on Snow Leopard. Kind of a bummer, as I used to send new contacts to business partners all the time this way.

There have been other reports of drag and drop to the icon not working like it did/should.
I imagine rewriting it for Docksposé caused a lot of code changes. Hopefully, they will fix the things that have fallen through the cracks.
I forgot to mention the only workaround I can find is to create the new message first, and then use Docksposé to drop the vCards onto the new message.

In Pages, I have tracking changes ON and view Comments but I am unable to view track changes in documents sent to me via Word. HELP please

Hyperlinks from email, pdf and word no longer work to connect to that webpage, though they work in IE.

I think I recently updated firefox, in any case, I do when requested. Just in the last few days, I can no longer make hyperlinks work from email, word or pdf documents. I have to cut and paste the url. I tried doing the reset under troubleshooting, but it did not work. I tried setting the network connection to auto detect, but that did not fix it either. As I can get hyperlinks to work with internet explorer, I assume it is something with firefox. I am not a particularly savy computer user, so clear instructions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Just upgraded to Lion and MS Word no longer works

Not only does Word not work, but I can't even open a word doc in Pages.

What version of Word do you have?
If it is Word 2004, that is no longer supported. It is coded for PowerPC which has been dropped with Lion.
What version of Word were the files created with?
I know Pages always opens any Word files that I am sent.

It seems that my Office 2008 is incompatible with the Yosemite OS that my friend just installed on my iMac. My Word no longer works. Also, I can't access messages on Entourage. What version of Office should I buy?

My friend installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac. Since then, I can barely use my Miocrsoft Word 2008. The spinning pinwheel, things freezing up, template and formatting trouble, and I can't get any Entourage messages more than a year old, which is a disaster. I read that Yosemite won't support Word 2008. What Microsoft Update should I buy, and will that fix my problems? I am desperate. Thank you in advance for your help. Remove Office 2008 for Mac using Microsoft deinstall procedure. Reinstall Office 2008 for Mac. If there are updates, apply them. Using Disk Utility, verify/repair permissions on your boot drive.
Does Office for Mac 2008 now work correctly? If not, you may want to repeat the above first sentence, and then update to Office for Mac 2011, and apply the latest (14.4.8) update which has Yosemite fixes.

Microsoft Word No Longer Works With Lion?

It says something like "You can't open Microsoft Word Because Power PC Applications are no longer supported."
This just happened after updating to Lion. Is there anything I can do?

Return to Mac OS X 10.6.8, or upgrade Office to 2008 or better, or use a third-party product such as OpenOffice, or run Mac OS X Server 10.5 or 10.6 through a program such as VirtualBox.

Export from LR to PS no longer works

I just updated to Camera Raw8.3 and now when I'm in LR5.3 and attempt to edit an image in PS5, the image does not move from LR to PS. Should I just go back to a previous CR version?

Thanks for the hint. I've confirmed by testing that the Nik software plug-in inhibits the startup or transfer of a LR-generated TIF in PS Elements. I exited the Nik menu that appears on PSE startup, and tried again to "Edit In..." in LR. It worked immediately.
LR makes the TIF but it doesn't open in PSE if it has the Nik package menu - you have to go open it via Win Expl. A pain. As far as I know this is the latest Nik software but I could be wrong. Perhaps as you say they have solved this.

Changing printer settings no longer works - requesting lpadmin password!

When pressing the _"Pause Printer"_ button, or changing printer settings, I get a dialog box come up saying:
*Type the name and password of a user in the "lpadmin" group to allow Photosmart C4500 series (HPF615EE).app to make changes.*
I have typed my username and password in several times, to no avail. I am the only administrator on this computer. Apparently I am not a member of this "lpadmin" group, and have never seen it before in my life!
What do I do?

You are using Word 2004, it will not operate on Lion because it is too old, either buy a newer version of Office (2008 or 2011) or download a free office suite such as Open Office.

I've been trying to change the country since April and Apple told me to create another ID in the other country, because they can't change it.
I have a season pass from How I Met Your Mother 8, that is still opened, although there are no more episodes to see. Apple says is 20th Centure Fox problem and they can't do anything.
The best think to do is not to use iTunes Store and stop buying Apple products.

Word Documents Tracked Changes

Hi guys,
i just got my ipad. Is there any way to see tracked changes in word documents?
Its seems like documents to go can do this? Just wondering if any one is able to validate this.

Update. From the MacWorld Pages review:
"One extremely important note here: if you receive Word or Pages documents that contain tracked changes or comments, you’ll need to avoid Pages for iPad. Imported documents lose all comments and Pages for iPad automatically accepts any tracked changes. For me, this is a problem I can’t work around."
So as of this date, no. Maybe in a future release.

Microsoft word 2008 crashes abruptly when trying to use track changes

Hi,
I believe this may be related to recently downloading Yosemite:
Every time I try to use Microsoft Word (2008) with "track changes" on, Word shuts off abruptly.
Has any one else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
I've already tried Disk Utility - disk & disk permissions repair.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
