Exporting track info from USB mixer

i have recently purchased a Alesis Multimix8 USB mixer board....and it has a direct USB in to my computer....i was told that this particular model works often with Garageband...i was also told that such a model was a plug and play.
when i contacted alesis they said the same thing. so i can only assume it is something i am doing wrong with Garageband. please let me know how i can successfully connect my USB mixer to my computer and actually receive signal.

The easy thing to do, IF you transfered them from the office PC using copy, you still have access to it, and all the music on your PC and this office PC is the same, is to transfer again with the iTunes Library file.
You will transfer the whole "My Music" folder. inside this folder is the "iTunes" folder with its "iTunes Library.itl" file. this file contains all the song info, playlist ratings ectect. more on the iTunes library can be found here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732
Another helpful artical for you maybe will be the one for transfering iTunes and music to a new PC using your iPod. Some steps you may not need to do, or have to alter abit, But it will give you a general idea on what you need to do to properly transfer things from one PC to another. You can update an order or CRM form (attached to order) via the webservices API, you can send any and all the data you need. You'll have to setup a system a middle man server (or use your existing backend) to download the order and match it to the BC order and on a timer or when the data is available from your other system update the order on BC. I've done this with for a customer and Fedex to give real time tracking numbers within 1 min of the order placed.

No audio input to Garageband from USB mixer

I have a macbook duo core running 10.6.8 and a Behringer X1622 usb mixer. I get no input signal no matter what I do. Ant ideas?

you seem to have set the computer up properly which appears to point to the mixing console as the issue.
are you familiar with mixing consoles? i don't have an x1622 to play with to point out specifics, but things like attenuation have to be up along with the volume fader, any Sends, if the console has them, must be set right...
best bet is to check the owner's manual to make sure you have it actually sending a signal to the computer

How can I export Faces info from one library to another?

How can I export direct from one Library to another? Currently I am exporting to desktop and then importing to alternative Library. This works including file name and description. However Faces info is lost. How can I retain Faces info?

It is not possible to "export" face information - there is no defined place to put it

Hello Geri, Currently, Planning 3.5.1 does not have any utility to export security out of planning. What you can do is this that generated PDF files through the application itself and then convert it in to text files and so on to load security via importsecurity.exe. Thanks, Scorpio

ITunes does not read audio track info from CD burned with Toast 10 Titanium

I cannot get iTunes on my Mac laptop to read the CD text that I type when I burn an audio disc on Toast 10.0.7. This is true, even though I choose the Toast option "Add CD Text." I have to re-enter the info into iTunes, duplicating the effort I put into naming the tracks and artists in Toast. Even after doing all this, however, the track icons within the disc icon on the desktop will not reflect the iTunes info. When I click ""Get Info" for the disc, its says "You can only read" under the "Sharing & Permissions" section. How can I fix this? Is this a Toast issue or a Mac/iTunes issue?

It is an iTunes issue. iTunes can write CD text when it burns a CD, but is not capable of reading CD Text from a CD.
If you want to see a list of ripping tools that can read CD Text, refer to this Wikipedia article. If you don't have time to read it, here is a summary: almost every ripping tool can read CD Text, except iTunes.

Exporting site info from CS3 to CS4

How do I export my "remote info" under "manage sites" from CS3 to CS4? I have about 30 sites under "manage sites" and would hate to have to dig up all the passwords after the upgrade. I used the "export" button in CS3, but it didn't bring in the remote info.

1. In CS3, open Site Manager
2. Select the sites you want to Export
3. Click Export and select a KNOWN location into which to write the *.ste files
4. Open CS4.
5. Open Site Manager
6. Click IMPORT, browse to and select the site files you just exported and click OK.
Such fundamental questions as this are always answered in DW's F1 Help. You'd have been done an hour ago if you had looked there.

Export photo info from iPhoto to iWeb

I would like to attach information to my photos using the information box in iPhoto. But when I export to iWeb, the only information that transfers is the title. Is there a way to include this description in iWeb? I know I can use the caption feature in iWeb to add more text, but I want it attached to the photo so I don't need to reenter if I move it around, etc. THANKS!

I use ImageWell to resize my images before loading into iWeb. I also use it to add captions and © notices to the photo itself.

I need to assign channels from my USB device to tracks. In the older Grageband, I could open track info from the track menu. How do I do this in 10.0.1?
And, there doesn't seem to be a way to select multi-track recording.

How do I get the iTunes store to pull and use updated info from Gracenote?

I'm helping a music group fix their CD information, which was incorrect in the Gracenote database. Gracenote made the corrections, but the iTunes store is not reflecting the changes. I verified the changes were made by inserting the CD on a PC, and, through the iTunes client, asking it to pull the track info from Gracenote. The info is correct.
However, if you use the iTunes client to go to the store, the info in the store does not match what was pulled when sticking the CD in the drive and querying Gracenote. Also, if you go to the CD URL via a web browser to preview or purchase a digital download, the iTunes store web site is still showing the wrong information.
How do I get the iTunes store (that is, Apple's server, not the iTunes client) to pull and use updated (correct) CD information from Gracenote?

The official Content Provider relationship with the Store depends how it was set up, and may be the group or their agent or a 3rd party such as TuneCore. They can go back through the same official channel that put the tracks in the Store in the first place.

Any way to have info from a form show in the body of an email window?

I've built a question form in the new Catalyst Beta that when completed, the user will click the submit button opening their email client(which, since this is an internal app for my office, is MS Outlook) showing the information already entered and they just have to hit Send.
I have imported the FC file into Flash Builder 4 and have been able to populate the To and Subject fields but I'm having trouble with the body of the email. I can't think of/find a way to link/export the info from the form to the email body. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Many mail clients will automatically take text that looks like URLs or email addresses in a plain text email and make them links. If this is an internal application where you know what mail client everyone is using, that may be worth testing out. You may not need a mailto.

Import loses (some) track info on eject

When I import from a CD and use get track info, iTunes does the right thing. However, upon ejecting the CD, I often lose some, although usually not all, of the track info. Usually it just loses the first track info (maybe it's the one I played?) Sometimes it loses all the track info (but I haven't played all of them!) I can restore the info by re-doing the get track info from the library listing, but this is really weird and almost certainly a bug. (I'm on 1.1.1.11 -- weirdly :-)

ps. This is definately a bug. I just tested it several times under various conditions and it at least consistently loses the first track info (defaulting it back to "Track 1"), and sometimes more than just that one.

My Ipod library is on a computer not connected to internet. Is there a way to manually put track info from cds once they are imported?

Right click - "Get Info", change the ID3 tag. You can copy and paste album art too.

Transferring CD Track Info to New

Is it possible to transfer the file storing CD track info from one PC to another? If so do you know what the name of the file is which stores these CD track names etc ? In other words when I put a CD into the dri've, the Creative software picks up all the info from the last time I put it in and filled out the details. I've no web access, so I can't rely on CDDB everytime. I can't seem to find the file (if it exists), and I want to transfer it over to another PC because its storing a few hundred CD's worth of data.

If it is MediaSource you are using then the files are stored in:
C:\Documents and Settings\**usename**\Application Data\Creative\Media Database
Once MediaSource is installed on your new PC copy the files over from this folder to the same location on your new PC.
