Exporting Versions to image with meta data

Hey folks, I'm looking to find an Aperture Plugin that will export processed images (versions) with all its associated meta data in XML format.
I intend to use this exported data in a custom application - I've seen export plugins to Picasa, and others, but so far they just seem to handle the images alone.
Can anyone suggest a location to where I might find such a beast? (or is anyone in development of this? - I'm very surprised it isn't included as a built-in feature.

Has anyone had success with Ubermind's Aperture to FileMaker?
I've had it work once or twice, but usually, despite rigorously following their apparently simple instructions, Aperture refuses to recognize the database.
Would be pleased to know if there's something they haven't been clear about in their instructions.

How to export images with meta data from iPhoto?

Hi
I have about 4000 family photos which have been scanned and imported to iPhoto. They are all dated the same day, naturally. I'm now in the process of adding metadata to every photo: location, faces, time and year, file name and description.
Once I have gone through every photo, I will put them into albums based on events and the meta data above.
Eventually, I will want to share all these photos with people who should like to see them (and who are not tech savvy...) I'm looking for the best approach to do to this.
1. Will all the metadata that I have added remain in the photos when I export them?
2. What exactly is the best approach to export these 4000 photos?
- As I have gone through all the hard work of sorting the photos in albums, is it possible to export these photos in the albums that they already in?

Can´t create new Version from Image with meta/adjustment?

I have some Images (.tiffs) which have Metadata/Adjustments but I can´t create a new Version from them.
Any idea what to do??

'weeks of work'. that's far too much to just let go of. so...
(re-reading your original message...)
'capturing' means simply importing, right?
but you've made adjustments to the images after import?
and you've added keywords/IPTC/metadata to the images after import?
I'd try:
A. split the tiff project/s into smaller projects (100 images or so) if you haven't already done so. (this'll take a while because Aperture slows down significantly when master images are moved around)
B. export the projects.
C. delete the projects from inside Aperture. there should be none of your 'problematic' tiff images remaining in the library.
D. relaunch Aperture and rebuild the library.
E. import the projects one at a time, rebuilding the library after each import in case there is something in the project's data files that needs fixing.
F. try to do what you want to do with the images in the project.
if everything works ok, then import the next project and repeat steps E and F.

Can you export whole folders with meta data in tact

Can you export folders or groups of photos including all the meta data eg keywords, gps etc to a new folder?
I then could copy these to my xbox for viewing for example?

managed to have a bit mess, you can actually highlight an event, album, places, faces etc in the source list, the choose file > export and it does all included in that folder/album/source, rather than highlighting them individually.
The reason for wanting to do this, is I want to be able to export to some kind of structure outside of iPhoto for my Windows PC, Xbox etc for showing, but want all the keywords, GPS, meta data on

How to Export from iPhoto 6 with Creation Date

I frequently need to share photos with friends, by burning a CD of the images. But whenever I do this, the photos are labeled with the date of export instead of the creation date, so if the friend wants to view a slide show of the photos in sequence of time, they can't do it.
Is there a way, within the Mac, without plugins or additional software, to fix this, say an Automator action to change the file's date to the date/time the photo was made?

Do a Batch Change on those you're exporting using the Title to Date/Time (you can deselect the time later in the process. Then export the files to the desktop using the Use Title option. That will give you 12/2/06-1.jpg, etc. as the new file name.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Aperture - Export the edited images with changes

I recently purchased Aperture and have a SLR camera (Pentax K-X) and a GPS logger (Holux M-241). I record my images in DNG format (Adobe RAW format).
I've tried to import my images into Aperture, where I've added commentary and edited my pictures. Now I would like to export my photos (originals), where I can either save images as "Include IPTC" or "Create IPTC4XMP sidecar file". I might have saved my comments, but the changes I've made the pictures are not appearing when I imported the images again from the folder where I have exported my edited images (related to exports, I have chosen "Create IPTC4XMP sidecar file "). Why can not I see my edited photos?
Is it not possible to save the XMP sidecar file as embedded in your DNG files, which I know you can do with Adobe Photoshop?

What you want to do is a contradiction in itself - in Aperture you either export the originals or the versions. The originals will give you exactly the original images that you imported, optionally with IPTC added annotions, but without edits.
If you want to export the edited image, you will have to render the edited version and to export a version, not an original. You have many presets for the format of the edited version to choose from, but not a raw format. The closest you can get will be exporting as tiff or psd original size.

Does Export Version reduces image quality?

Hi,
I got smaller file size when I "export version" at "original size". My master was jpeg of 5.1MB and I exported in jpeg format, I got 3.6MB. If I "export master", I do get 5.1MB. What does Aperture do to the jpeg image that reduces the file size?
Then I played around with "image quality", which is 10 by default. If I set it to 11, I got a file of 4.1 MB, still smaller than the original 5.1MB. Set it to 12 I got a file of 10.4MB. I am kind of confused. I guess the "image quality" relates to degree of jpeg compression, and a 12 setting means that Aperture compresses the jpeg image at a lower compression ratio than my camera? Does Aperture uncompress jpeg image and re-compress it when "export version"?
The bottom line is, how do I preserve image quality after adjustments? In other words, I would like to export at the same image quality as my original photo, or as close as possible (I assume Aperture reduces jpeg image quality a bit every time I apply adjustments to the image via export). Finder - Images With Orientation Data

Hi,
I'd like to discuss the way Finder handles images/photos with Orientation data embedded in them. I have a portrait photo here. When I open it with Preview it appears the correct way up, with its longest dimension running vertically. The same is true for Cover Flow and Quick Look. All of these methods show the photo the correct way up. However, when I view the file in Icon View or in List View in the Finder, the photo appears on its side, with its longest dimension running horizontally.
My question is, why is this happening? If Preview, Cover Flow, Quick Look and even Safari understand Orientation data, why doesn't the Icon and List View modes of the Finder? Is this intentional or something that Apple forgot to implement?

Data and Cleansing export TO SQL table with Melissa Data appended fails

I am using Data Quality services with Melissa Data Address Check as reference data. Everything works fine until I take the option to export Data and Cleansing Info which will give me my cleansed data plus additional data points such as geocodes from
Melissa. When I do it fails with the error below.
(Failed to create a new table geocode in database DQS_STAGING_DATA. Check whether the table already exists and have the database administrator make sure the DQS Service has CREATE TABLE rights in the destination database and can INSERT to the destination
table.)
This error makes no sense as the table does not exist and I do have proper rights. I can export Data and Cleansing data if Melissa Data is not involved , when I dig further it seems to be complaining about column header lengths.

I can see no option to control these column headers in DQS. Has anyone else experienced this ? Does anyone know of a workaround ?
I have already reported to Melissa data and they agreed the problem was the column header length but said they also had no control of that.

You can create an SR with a based outbound filter. All object that match the filter will be provisioning to CS SQL (if you do not define filter, all objects will be provisioning).

Bug: export flash as image with smooth

I created a banner with flash CS4. So, I exported it as png to print in great scale.
I noticed when I select a higher dpi to export, the exporter cuts off a part of the image. I tried this with 300 dpi.
When I deselect the smooth option, the export works fine. I also used png because I need the alpha channels.
You can try this even in CS3 too.

I am running into the same problem and have some easy to repro steps.
1. Create a new flash project and set the document size to 792x1224 (which is 11x17 inches at 72 dpi)
2. Draw a rectangle (with a border of a different color) at each corner of the document. (so a total of 4 rects)
3. File -> Export Image -> Save as PNG with settings: 250 dpi, Full Document Size, 24 bit (the rest dont matter as far as I could tell)
4. View exported file and see the rects at the bottom being cropped.
I'm actually trying to export at 300 or 600 dpi but 250 dpi illustrates the problem clearly.
Hope there is a fix for this.

Xcelsius-Export to pdf-opens with default data

HI All,
We have Xcelsius dashboard pulling data from webi reports using Live Office connection.
Data is coming from SAP BW so every time when I run the dashboard it asks for user/pw and based on that it shows me data.
Till here everything is fine as expected. Now when I take the pdf export of this dashboards to distribute it among users it saves the data within pdf file. So when a user opens this pdf, it initially show him some set of data though he is not authorized to see that. Later it asks for user/pw based when which he can see data relevant to him.
Am I missing something here. This is so because the requirement here is to export just the template of this dashboard without any data and let the users provide their credentials while opening the pdf so that they could see what they are authorized to see.
Please suggest. Also let me know if you need more info.

Thanks Matt for your response. Here in this dashboard we are using live office connection pointing to a webi report.
Don't know if there is way to clear out data from excel in this case before taking export to pdf.
And ,another thing that I have noticed is that everytime i take export it first generates swf file and ask for user credentials and after that it export the same to a pdf.Pls let me know if I am missing some important properties here that could give me the desired result.

Kinect for Windows version 2, problem with Depth Data

Recently i purchase a new kinect for windows (V2). i need to capture depth data. therefore i installed SDK 2 for this reason. i captured depth data with Depth D2D or WPF in SDK 2. but i see the depth data that kinect captured,is very different from real
depth. also we can see that many depth data will change suddenly into a random value of pixel(something like above 238, 140 or 3). And we also find that many black and white pixel appear on the display which also means that there exists an extreme sudden change
between zero and a great value.
What makes this happen and how can I correct it

Depth is generated based on the time of flight infrared(IR) data that is acquired from the sensor. Time of flight is different from structured light sensor than v1. In a particular frame, each pixel is going to have a valid depth value or unknown. The
only way to correct is to average the data acquire from the SDK. Each frame can be compared to the previous given a constant that the camera didn't move. Based on that each pixel can be averaged with previous frames(more than one) and that should level off
to a point.
Since this is all based on IR data, the reflective properties of the surfaces/environment will determine the amount of noise. With time of flight, the ir data is actively filtered to only look for the wavelengths the sensor has emitted into the area.
If you are highly reflective areas(lots of glass, mirrors, shiny metal, amount of direct sunlight) that is going to affect how the IR gets bounced back into the sensor. This also applies to materials that absorb IR.
The only things you can do is determine how the IR data looks using IR basics and if you are seeing a lot of pure black and bright white that is going to affect what depth can be detected in those areas.

Good. The information that you need is stored in the MGMT TABLES but the query can change too much if you change your requirements.
Example
For example CPU % Utilization GC retrieve information from sar comand

But the performance page in GC is the most complex to build a query, because these information are building but PL executions and perl scripts.

How to save/export image with 3D grid

I am in CS6 with the 3D workspace selected. I need to export/save the image with the grid viewable. I know this is possible as I have seen it on a few other images. The catch is I need it 300 dpi so I cannot just screen shot as png.

I don't understand what's the problem? Can you please elaborate? Show some code snippets and tell where you stucks on.
