Exporting video from Final Cut Express to be put on the internet

Is there a way to export a flash file from Final Cut Express? I have a short video I am trying to put on my web site and I am finding that every format I try people who are using PC's are having trouble opening it. It all links back to Quicktime. Is there a way to not use Quicktime?

It doesn't come with FCE. You need a Flash encoder. There are different ones of varying quality. Flash of course comes with one. Episode has Flash as an add-on. Do a google search for Flash encoders. Many encoders, after they're installed, will work directly from within FCE using the QuickTime Conversion function. There'll be a format option for Flash.

After updated to OS Maverick, I can no longer export video from Final Cut Pro.
It pops up "The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)"
    ANYONE CAN HELP??

10.0.2, I think this is where the problem is.
I will update to the latest (10.0.9) and update this thread to see if this will resolve my problem.

  • Exporting HD Video From Final Cut Express HD

When attempting to export HD video from Final Cut Express using "uncompressed" setting, I notice that the output quality seems to be limited to "medium." If no compression is used, wouldn't that imply that the video quality should equal original footage?

All FCE Timelines are using the AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec) for HD stuff if you selected the correct Easy Setup before you started your Project.
If you export as a Quicktime Movie then you are getting exactly the same export quality as the Timeline.
The Quicktime Movie can be either Self-Contained or a Reference file. Reference Files are great because they use/reference you exisating captured files on your Scratch Disc, use less space and export fast.
However if you need to play the export somewhere other than your Mac your will require the file to be Self-Contained.
QuickTime Conversion does just that, Converts to whatever you select.

  • Exporting HDV from Final Cut Express

I'm trying to export a video as an mpeg-2 from Final Cut Express and burn it onto a CD-ROM for use on a PC with Adobe Premier. Could anyone help on the best way to do so?

There is no MPEG-2 export from FCE unless you have a third party encoder. You might try googling it. There are some expensive ones. Why does it have to be MPEG-2 BTW? Wouldn't QuickTime be better? It's fully support by Premiere on both platforms.

I tryed already export with "sequence quicktime" and DV PAL 48 kHz and burn with "DVD", but didn't work.

    thanks a lot

my sequence is in Final Cut yet. The problem is, is an art work and every time I have to show somewhere, is diferents DVD players, so I tryed to play the one (exported by quicktime) in a dvd player quite old and actually worked but very bad, with errors! So, I trying to find a way more universal!! that I can play anywhere! Should I export by "compresseur" and Mpeg2 something like this, or "compresseur quitktime" and .avi??

There's not "share" on tool bar, but there' one under "file" toolbar.
To share, i have to add destination, but I can't add any destination

The Share button is in your image. It's the last button in the toolbar and it appears active in your screen shot.

  • Exporting .wmv from final cut express

I'm trying to find an acceptable method to export a movie file to share with Windows users and most codecs are extremely lossy for what I'm doing except the .wmv. But I can NOT get any sound to export with a wmv file. I have other wmv files like those I get in e-mails and they play fine... ALL other codecs I've tried bring sound with them ok. looking for assistance/explanation

You're right. My error was not reading the Flip4 manual. And tho you didn't really put together what I was saying at first ie: I WAS exporting in .wmv from FCE, you did help me understand that the conversions choices that I was using in FCE were part of a plug-in, which in turn led to the answer. Here's the deal; ALL of the .wmv conversion choices show up active with the free versions of Flip4 and you can get video converted to .wmv with quicktime supported applications (just enough to tease and confuse), BUT, apparently it doesn't finish converting the entire video clip, nor does it bring any sound with it until you purchase at least the "Studio" upgrade. • IDVD and video from Final Cut Express

I made few videos PAL in 4:3 format, and that was simple. Btw, I live in PAL country.
When I start with 16:9 format, problem is beginning to show when I add QuickTime video (video was in 16:9 format, Anamorphic or HDV). First, picture of Sunflower or Vintage Vinyl theme shows on TV in 16:9 format. When the my video begins, I saw it on 4:3, not 16:9 format that I chose in the Project of iDVD.
All recordings I have has been made in HDV or Anamorphic PAL.
Who can write me how can I set video to 16:9 format?

Make sure Quicktime 7 is open before you try Anamorphizer.
Place a copy of your movie clip in a new folder and drag that clip over the Anamorphizer icon. This should create a second file in that folder that start with Anamorphic- This is the reference movie you drag-and-drop into iDVD. Note that your clip in that folder (which is the movie the reference movie points to, must not be moved or deleted).

  • Best export method of footage from Final Cut Express to DVD?

I'm exporting footage from Final Cut Express using Quicktime Player and then burning the footage to DVD using iDVD.
The end result on DVD has very jagged interlacing (or noise) on objects in motion which aren't present when viewing the footage on FC. I don't think the problem is with iDVD (I assume I'm burning a pristine copy of an already reduced-quality clip).
Are there any changes I can make to the system preferences either on FC or Quicktime Player to reduce or prevent loss of digital information, or can anyone suggest better methods of export from Final Cut Express to DVD?

    Hello
I'm not sure if this is relevant:
    I've been using the Quicktime Conversion settings;
    http://www.locationstudio.net/Settings.jpg
    29.97 Frame Rate
    Highest Quality
    NTSC/PRO
I was under the impression that this was usually best - haven't had any problems with iDVD
