Exporting with Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 loses sound.

So... I've been having a hell of a time with the new Adobe creative cloud when it comes to video editing.  The drop of .flv format, unable to straight export .H24 formats from after effects, it's a total nightmare.  Here's the issue, to export as a .H24, you now have to use Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014.  The biggest issue, however, is at the end of the export, when you open the video, half of the video's sound is mysteriously GONE.  Just gone.  If you go back to after effects, look at the file and the audio, the wave forms are there.  There's nothing that would make it lose sound.  Audio is selected on export... I have no idea what's up.  Editing videos for youtube was a snap in previous versions of After Effects, now It's becoming almost impossible.

I think the same problem:

  • Exporting with Adobe Media Encoder

    Hello,
I am trying to read up more about the AME and am not finding what I need.  Can anyone tell me, is it necessary to render my video sequence before exporting media?  Some tutorials I've watched appear to not have done so.  Was wondering if rendering first was only necessary for exporting to tape.  Same question applies to sending to Encore via dynamic link.  Finally, I use the Sony HDR-CX100 camcorder which my Premiere does not recognize - any solution?  It would be great to be able to export to tape using it.
    Thanks,
    Don
Also - I have been experiencing a great deal of system crashes using AME and missed a very beg deadline last Thurs.  Was so frustrating - love Premiere but... have not figured out why.  I use WinVISTA, 3.2 Ghz processors - quad core, 8 GB RAM, NIVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT video card, SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio and also Realtek High Definition Audio.
Finally, I've read that most of the project setting can not be changed once created, rather than scratch disks.  Is there a way to do so via the project manager?
    Thanks,
    Don

NW, keep in mind you want to COPY the video files from the camera before working on them. If you import directly from the camera, Premiere will only know their location to be on the camera. Then, when you disconnet the camera or delete files to make room, your project will break.
When you say learning After Effects, do you mean the app, from scratch? or are you competent in AE and you just want to brush up on the DL side of things (only worth attempting if you have a grunty machine. DL on anything less is hair-tearing).
If the former, you could get one of the many, many books on the subject (I think I have After Effects Apprentice), or if you'd prefer, do some online training. One that I have used and would happily reccomend is Lynda.com . Basically you pay a monthly fee and you watch whichever videos you like, right across the range. The videos are very professional and thorough. But when it comes to AE, be ready for a learning curve of the near-vertical variety.

  • Exporting Video with Adobe Media Encoder filled up my OS Drive

I exported a 2+ hour video queued from Premiere CC 2014 to Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014. I had some dynamically linked files to both AE CC 2014 and AU CC 2014. All my media caches where set to a different drive on my pc. After the export was done, I was left from 42 GB on the OS to 13 GB on the OS drive. Does anyone have a clue of what happened and where those "cached" files might be so I can get rid of them?
I would greatly appreciate some guidance in this matter.
    Cordially,
    Edwin

    To whom it may concern,
I have resolved my own problem. I did some minor maintenance on my computer, some file management and got the GB on my OS drive up to 33 GB. I restarted my computer and it booted up with 75.5 GB on the OS drive. It seems to have "flushed" all the previously cashed files from my export. If anyone has a clear idea of how this happened, I would love to know still. If anyone is interested on knowing what I did as "maintenance" I can also share this. Just post a reply to this discussion and I will share.
    Cordially,
    Edwin

  • Having major issues with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) - exporting with weird image flickering/colour anomalies, crashing regularly, freezing during encode...!

    Hi Guys
I am having some real issues with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) at the moment.  It appears that I am unable to encode an h.264 for Vimeo from a Premiere Pro Project file at the moment without at least some weird image issues that are not supposed to be there.  These include weird flickering, colour changes, artefacts etc.  This is if I am lucky...often I am unable to get the process to complete as the application either crashes and tells me there has been a problem or it simply freezes and I have to force quit the application and often restart my machine.
The problem seems to not to just be with h.264 for the web encodes but also with BluRay h.264 as well. As yet I haven't seen if there is a problem with MPEG-2 for DVD so I will check this out too!
Does anyone else see this happening or does anyone know what might be the problem?
I thought the Premiere Pro project might have been corrupt so tried a different project but the same issues were happening here too.
Any help would be really gratefully received.
    Cheers
EDIT - I have just found this online which is exactly the problem I am having! Thanks a bloody bunch Apple! 10.9.3 causing headaches for Mac Pro users | MacIssues

Agreed, I now have a project to GET OUT, and AME crashes consistently 1/3 into the render. It appears to halt all processing after (real time) 00:02:30
Am seriously considering uninstalling CC as I am beginning to find other issues in some apps, and going back to CS6/MC just so I can get work out. Durn it Adobe this is AWFUL!!
Alright, let's try to be constructive instead of throwing rocks... but the frustration level is high, and I have material on deadline. Let's get with this, guys...
    What OS Win7, 64-bit
What version of AME/PPro (Please be specific by getting the full version number in the About Adobe Media Encoder screen) 8.2.0.54 Ppro: 8.2.0 (65)
When is it crashing (Again, the more detail here about where it was in the encoding process the better) roughly 1/3 into the sequence, always on exactly the same frame - tried replacing the clip with something different to see if it was a timeline error, and NO EFFECT.
What is your source (PPro project or media file (what kind?)) PPro
If the source if a PPro project, does it work when exporting directly from PPro? NO
What format are you exporting to? H.264, QT, WM, tried everything my client can play.
Do other formats work? MPEG2, QuickTime, etc? NO
Have you tried with GPU rendering on? How about turning it off by switching to Software-only mode? Mine doesn't have any choice, it's software-only.
Have you tried disabling Native Sequence Loading? (AME Preferences: General > Enable Native Sequence Loading) No effect
Other things I tried: uninstalling/reinstalling AME, setting cache to a fast local disk.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 + Dynamic Link = no audio!

When exporting to any file from AE via Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 (8.0.1) rendered file has no audio at all.
When importing AE comp with audio to Premiere CC 2014 imported track doesn't have audio.
Problem is somewhere in dynamic link.
How can we export, for example to H.264, from AE if Media Encoder have problems with Dynamic Link?

    Hi Dmitri,
In AE project I have JPG sequence footage and sequence of ten MP3 audio tracks. I have created WAV file from those ten tracks and tried it in AE instead of MP3 files, but result was same - no audio in file, rendered from AME.

  • Just how hard it is to export using Adobe Media Encoder ?

For those who have CS4 already, just how difficult is it to export
    to Adobe Media Encoder ?
Right now it's very simple, you make up your work area for example, and export.
So with CS4, I must do what exactly to do this ?
Do I have to save the project with the work area selected, exit, now open Adobe Media Encoder and now select "open project" and now load this up and then export ?
Please tell me it ain't so.
I'd like to hear the steps to do this. I have to be honest, what once was an exciting time, has turned into a disappointing time now, reading all the things Adobe had changed ( for no good reason ). I just don't understand sometimes why they do things. I think they should get more input from poeple that use their products on a daily basis, so they know what they should touch, and what not to touch.
I'm actually not looking forward to upgrading now, even though I will, because of a few things that look good in the new version.
    Dave.

    It ain't so.
The workflow remains pretty much the same until you finally click the OK button. At that point the AME will open up and you can choose to start the queue immediately or switch back to PPro and do several more exports before starting the queue.
    Read all about exporting
    from the horse's mouth. ;)
    You will also find several
CS4 tutorials that will show you how it's done.
    Cheers

  • Problems rendering Every-line Composer texts with Adobe Media Encoder

I find the text paragraph setting "Adobe Every-line Composer" a huge time saver when dealing with large amounts of text in after effects. I rarely have to do any manual tracking or line breaks to make it look good, as opposed to working with the standard Single-line Composer.
The problem is that when I render through Adobe Media Encoder (which I'm forced to do since they removed H264-mp4 support from AE:s internal renderer) the text is treated like single-line composed text. So the final render doesn't look like my AE project.
I've found two solutions to this problem:
    1. Render a lossless video file in the AE renderer and then compress it with Media Encoder. This takes more time and HDD space, and it doesn't allow me to continue working in AE while rendering.
    2. Only use Single-line composed text and make all adjustments manually, the old school way. This would not be a problem if I had not already used, and fallen in love with, the Every-line option.
Is there anyone that can think of a third, and preferably better, solution?
I use the CC 2014 versions of AE and AMC.

No, the text doesn't animate at all. It's just a normal static text box. The text part is extremely simple. All animations are done in other layers and pre-comps, combined with pre-rendered 3D graphics from Cinema 4D, rendered as image sequences. My problem is a bug, plain and simple. Or perhaps you could call it a "lack of feature support" or an "incompatibility between AE and Adobe Media Encoder".
My problem appears only when my AE project has text boxes with the "Every-line Composer" option enabled (press the menu button in the Paragraph window to find it), AND the project is rendered through Adobe Media Encoder, no matter which output format I use. I have no problems what so ever inside of after effects, or when rendering Single-line Composer text in AMC.
So, the problem is that Media Encoder doesn't recognize Every-line composed text. Instead it changes it to Single-line composed text, messing up text tracking and line breaks.
To clarify: the Adobe Every-line Composer is analyzing the entire text box instead of only the current line. That way it can automatically change the tracking of individual lines to better distribute the line breaks and build a better whole, avoiding those stray words on the last line for example. Extremely handy, if you could only render it.
I never wrote anything about animating text or that the codec is related to the text problems in any way. AMC is the problem. The codec is only a secondary problem since its the lack of mp4 H264 support that forces me to use Media Encoder in the first place, instead of using the AE render queue as I did in previous versions of AE. I like many things about rendering through AMC, like being able to continue working in AE while rendering, but there are still way too many glitches. And of course, there's the inability to render flv-files in AMC CC 2014, and Adobe's inability to provide a solution other than "Use an older version of AMC". Flv is their own damn format for christ's sake.
    Well, enough rambling.
    To put it simple:
Has anyone had a problem with "Every-line Composer" in combination with Adobe Media Encoder? Did you find a solution other than the two less-than-perfect ones in my first message?
    Thanks!

  • Problems to Export to Adobe Media Encoder!

Hi, I´ve a problem to export to Adobe Media Encoder!
When in Premiere Pro CS4, I click in Files - Export - Media.. it shows a display saying: "An Adobe Media Encoder update s available for this version of Premiere Pro.."
But I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4 to 4.21 and Media Encoder to 420! Both are installed!
And the display message s showed yet! So I cant send the project into Media Encoder by click, just if i open Media Encoder..
    How do I solve this?
Because before I´ve updated Premiere Pro CS4, I´didnt have this boring message..
    Thanks for your help!
    Gustavo

    Gustavo,
Though you have updated, it appears that the updater still thinks that you have not.
The first thing that I would do is follow the suggestion in the message. An alternative would be to close PrPro, and open Bridge, then choose Help>Update from there. Not sure why updating from Bridge seems to do things better, but it does for many.
This should do one of two things: actually do the update (maybe it only was applied partially? and clear the updater notification. I have had similar with Acrobat Pro, where it took three attempts to get the update to both complete and then to clear the notification messages.
Now, when I go to update from Adobe, I first shut off my AV, pop-up blockers and spysweeper programs. I trust Adobe.com, so do not want anything getting in the way. One more thing to do, prior to updating is to make sure that you have the very latest Adobe Flash Player installed. More and more, Adobe's installers rely on Flash Player.
That is all that I can think of now, other than Good Luck!

  • Exporting in Adobe Media Encoder fails in CS4 after CS3 is removed.

There's an issue with Adobe Media Encoder in CS4 where encoding will fail after CS3 is uninstalled.
If you never had CS3 installed on your machine - no problem.
If you never had CS3 and CS4 installed at the same time - no problem.
If you had CS3 and CS4 installed concurrently, then uninstalled CS3 - Houston, you have a problem.
You will need to uninstall CS4 and then reinstall CS4.
    The error message is:
    Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
One more thing I forgot to mention, this is a Win-only issue.

    >Does anyone understand this?
    Simple:
    1. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "dynamiclinkmanager.exe"
    2. Open a
second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "Premiere.exe"
    3. Arrange the windows side by side.
    4. Right-click on "Premiere.exe" and drag to the first explorer window, targeting between the files so as to avoid any specific file.
    5. Release the right-hand mouse button.
    6. Select "create shortcut here" from the pop-up menu.
    Cheers
