Exporting WITHOUT the Letterboxing - any advice please?
I'm shooting on a Sony Z1 using 'Squeeze' mode but when I export to a QuickTime from FCP I still have the letterboxing within picture.
Is there anyway I can avoid the letterboxing to produce and export a full video frame for web broadcast without cropping the picture?

Yes, you can scale your HDV or DV to a smaller size using advanced setting in Compressor. Not sure why you are working with a down convert in Squeeze. I would work in the best quality (HDV) for as long as I could (keeping in mind the limits of HDV Long GOP) and then export to Compressor using a uncompressed codec and using a custom setting to the size a web file you want. Test small files and keep plenty of notes for each then burn to DVD if this is where you are going and see what works for you.

This has happened to me with a few downloads without any upsets.
You should be OK.
As I recall the download is around 1.2 gig so it takes a bit of time and effort to get it to your system.

I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch early 2011.
The new features available in OS X Yosemite like Continuity, Handoff,etc are not supported in this model.
I did upgrade RAM to avoid any possible slowdown.
I found replacing the HD with SSD is too expensive for a 4 years old model.
Replacing the CPU/GPU is not for amateurs.
If you think that rebuilding a Mac part by part is a viable option, please go ahead and rebuild it.

I have ongoing problems with "application not responding" in various programmes, ie Word, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, iPhoto etc. I recently subscribed to CC but the problem still persists. Any advice please? This applies to my iMac and my macbook air! I'm using OSX Version 10.9.3

I am trying to delete duplicate songs in itunes but the delete button cannot be activated.Any advice please?
It is possible that the files are read only or you do not have permission to delete for the music folder in Windows.
If you go into Get Info for a track, will it let you edit? If not it is probably one of the above. -
I have an Imac. It does not have a CD port. I have downloaded CD music on to my old PC and sync'd with my iPod. I'd assumed that this would then transfer the same music on to my iMac. That's not the case. I iMac removes music it has not previously stored from my iPod. Any advice please?
iTunes only allows you to transfer songs from an iPod if they were purchased in the iTunes Store.
As they were transferred from a CD, you have to use an application like Senuti > http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ It will transfer the music from an iPod to iTunes -

Macbook Pro OSX 10.8 and Epson WF 7525 will no longer print.
It did until quite recently . However now I get filter failed and RastertoescpII and pages of items when i try to print .
Print head test sheets/head cleaning etc ok .
Have tried to to uninstall and reinstall but nothing.
Any advice, please?.

I found a solution !!!
The problem is that the font SEGOE UI MAGER (one of the fonts) is not installed.
When you go on this link, you can download the missing font !
http://fontzone.net/font-details/Segoe+UI/
download this, open it and go on install !
Then you open your Itunes and your Text is there again. Maybe its a little bit to big but, its there !!!

restore your app from the trash and then properly uninstall.
