Exporting WMV using AME

Could anyone tell me how to create a preset that allows me to export a .wmv file from AME? I have Flip4Mac Studio Pro HD installed, but can't seem to figure out how to get it to work with my CC suite. Please advise.

I would like to know the answer to this too, but I suspect the answer is that Adobe still hasn't bothered to implement it despite apparently being aware of user demand for several years.
Like you, I have Flip4Mac Pro so at the very minimum it should be available under the QuickTime component (Format > Quicktime, Codec > WMV) but no, that would be too easy.
Not having WMV export in 2014 is ridiculous.
Amen. I have the Telestream components also. They work fine in Apple Compressor.

  • FCP X: Can I export .wmv using Compressor without Flip4mac

Hi all, I need to export a movie as a .wmv and can't purchase the full version of Flip4mac. I do have Compressor 4.0.7 though. Is there a way I can export the file as a .wmv using only Compressor? I have exported the movie as an mp4 and it is 464.4MB. All the free online converters say the file is too big to convert unless I purchase the option to. I am fairly new to all of this so I appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

If you have Flip4Mac you can make a preset in Compressor. Then you can export using that directly from FCPX, but yes, you need Flip4Mac.

  • CC2014 causes footage to export sideways using AME??

Recently, as in since the 2014 update, about 8 out of 10 times I export footage using Media Encoder, it exports footage sideways (as in the left-right is flipped to bottom-top). On top of that, sometimes the footage isn't all exported sideways. Sometimes it's just the b-roll, or the footage is exported sideways but the subtitles aren't. What the heck is going on???

Sounds like a bug with particular footage. Can you post a screengrab of your Premiere Pro sequences of the same frame?

  • How to export to WMV using Media Encoder in Adobe Design Premium?

I am using Adobe Design Premium CS6 under Windows 7, I found out that there isn't plugin for Adobe Media Encoder to export WMV. Is there a way to add the WMV plugin or purchase from third party vendor?

You may need to install either Premiere Pro or After Effects for that to be an option.
You can always use the free Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft.

  • Why won't Adobe Media Encoder export WMV?

I am using Adobe CS6 Design Standard with Adobe Media Encoder, and I'm trying to export video files to WMV using the Encoder.  I'm am running Windows 8 and for some reason the option to export to WMV does not come up for me.  I only get four options of formats, while online it says I should have many more.  This is a full version of CS6 that I bought and paid for, and every program is up to date.

Can I just buy the converter plugins or do I have to buy premiere pro or after effects?

The formats and codecs available for export through Adobe Media Encoder differ depending on what Adobe applications you have installed. The vast majority depend on the video applications, After Effects or Premiere Pro, being installed.

  • Have the problem to export media use the queue after the latest update of Premiere and Media encoder?

After update the Premiere CC 2014 and Encoder CC 2014, I couldn't export the movie use the Queue function?
There always had a unknown error stop the process. (Compile error?)

You need to fix that first.
Export and preview in the Media Encoder and watch when it stops.
There you need to fix the timeline.
Start a new project to see if you can use AME.

  • Project link when using AME to render AE comp?

Adobe has suggested that we NOT use AE render queue to output file to MXF OP1a AVC-100 due to a bug in the format size . I rely on using the Project Link function when I did use the AE render queue. How do I get that function when using AME to export?

That's not something that you can do with AME currently.
If you rendered a master file from After Effects and then transcoded it in AME, you should be able to preserve the metadata from the master in the transcoded file output from AME.  Let me check to see if that works...

  • FCPX to Compressor 4.1 to WMV (using Flip4Mac) - Audio Popping Noise

This week I exported WMVs from FCPX 10.1.3 via Compressor 4.1.
A strange 'popping noise' appeared in the final exported files that was not present in the original source clips in FCPX.
I ran through every conceivable AV quality setting in the Windows Media Quicktime Export Components to isolate the problem but to no avail.
To humour myself I used a free online WMV conversion tool which produced a WMV that didn't have the audio popping noise.
Eventually I contacted Telestream/Flip4Mac and asked if anyone else had reported the issue.
They said they had started to receive reports of similar problems occuring when exporting to WMV from Compressor.
    THE SOLUTION:
Export a ProRes MOV from FCPX via Compressor
Open that MOV in Flip Player and select Export > Format > Windows Media

    This is what I see.

  • Anamorphic nightmares - exporting .wmv file

HI, I'm trying to export my DV Pal anamorphic 16:9 file to a .wmv file to be used in a Powerpoint Presentation. When I've exported the file through QT conversion / windows media, I can't get it to show the right proportions and with the black bars top and bottom.
Could you let me know what settings I need to choose for DV Pal to export this .wmv file?
I've also tried exporting it using compressor, but can't get it in the right proportions either. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi, it works for part of the sequence but not all of it! Sighhh. In the nested sequence I'm highlighting the whole sequence and changing the aspect ratio like you say but it is only picking up part of it!
In the origingal sequence you can see the clips where it has changed it as it looks very stretched. Any idea how to get it to do the whole sequence?
I exported using .wmv and the section that was altered looks fine, so where nearly there.
Thanks for your persistence, I really appreciate it.

  • Final Cut P 2 - export wmv

I can only export wmv for 30 sec. - demo flip I realize but I thought final cut pro 2 had the flip for mac with it - that I don't have to lay out more money. No?

Flip4Mac is from a 3rd party vendor. The company's name is Telestream.
You can purchase the Flip4Mac "add-on" to Quicktime at:
    http://flip4mac.com/buy.htm
There are different flavors of the software. If you're doing high-end work, I'd recommend just splurging and buying the Studio Pro HD for $179. If you're just doing small projects, the WMV Studio for $49 will work just fine. Our studio uses "Studio Pro" for $99.
    I hope that helps!

  • How can i use AME for the new OAF page.

    Dear all,
I have developed a new OAF page and registered under Employee Self Service.
How can i use AME for the approval process.
    Appreciate your ideas?
    zamora

I will try to answer based on my experience of working with iProcurement and AME. It depends on how you want to make a call to AME , directly from OAF Page or from Workflow and your requirement. You didn't specify what you want to show the users on OAF Page and your business requirement.
Before calling AME Engine from the OAF page or workflow, I guess you did already setup AME Transaction Type and it's Approval Groups, Conditions, Action Types and Rules. Do some testing from AME Business Analyst Test Workbench. Please note that, AME provides lot of PL/SQL API's that you have to call from your programs (java or workflow pl/sql)
Let's look at the workflow and putting an OAF Page as notification.
As Sameer said, you have kick-off workflow process from PR of CO and with in the workflow function, you make a call to AME Engine API's with the AME Transaction ID. This transactionId belongs to the AME Transsaction Type that you setup. Based on the rules setup, AME Engine generates list of approvers/approver and stores them AME Tables for that transactionId. Then, it sends a notification to the approver.
In the workflow, where that notification is defined, in the message body you have to put an attribute(&XX_WF_FWK_RN) of type document/send. And this attribute will have the constant JSP:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=XX_FUNC&paramId=-&DOCUMENT_ID-. This function is SSWA Jsp function that makes a web html call to your OAF Region.
If your requirement is to just show the list of approvers on the OAF Page, you may have to call AME API diectly passing your AME TrasnactionId with other parameters. Then AME generates list of approvers and stores them in AME tables with each approver status. You can pickup those approvers using VO and show them on OAF Page.
    Hope this gives some idea.

  • Can't export .MOV in AE cc render queue, But I can Export .MOV using Media Encoder cc

I get “[file path and name].mov”. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464) when trying to export .mov using AE cc render queue but works fine in media Encoder cc. My problem is that i need to export animation with alpfa channel for a client and cannot find an alpha channel option in media encoder.
    Please help

To export with an alpha channel in Adobe Media Encoder, choose "32 bit" from the Depth menu under the Video tab in the export settings. (That refers to 32 bits per pixel: 8 each for R, G, B, and A.) Of course, that option is only available if the codec can include an alpha channel, such as with the Animation codec in a QuickTime container.

How do I export wmv and avi files from media encoder on a mac in CC2014?

As far as I know, you don't... those are Windows formats that are not available on a Mac
    Nonsense.
Apple Compressor has been doing wmf exports for a decade. I have the Quicktime export components from Telestream and they appear as presets in Compressor. They should be available in Media Encoder or they should be importable. Adove apparently refuses to see them. Still trying to figure that out.

  • Using AME in Workflow

    Gurus,
I am exhausted trying to find a solution to my problem but with no luck, hope I get some answers here.
I want to use AME in my custom workflow. How do I go about it? I am finding articles which says use ame_api2.getnextapprovers.... but which transactionId to pass to it? Do I need to mention about the transaction type in my Form function of my OAF page call? Totally confused!!
Could anyone be kind enough to list down the steps required to implement AME in workflow?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rakshith

I have the same issue when we rewind the workflow we get the same block and can not move forward if you have a solution please share as it would be very helpful to me.
    Thanks,
