Exporting Xcelsius dashboard to PDF in landscape mode

This same question was posted over a year ago and one of the 'official' replies was that the feature was added to the request list and was going to be implemented some time in the future.  I was just curious if there have been any developments on this and thus, if it's now possible to export a dashboard from Crystal Xcelsius into a PDF in landscape form.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had the same problem but have only found a temporary fix.
In Adobe Acrobat, go to Document -> Rotate Page.
Rotate by 90 degrees in either direction (doesn't matter which way)
You will now notice why I call this temporary - you will have large blank margins above and below the dashboard even if you did not include any when exporting.

what are prerequisites, Process need to do before exporting dashboard.

    Hi,
iPhone doesn't support flash application with firmware 2.2.1, I don't know if it will work with firmware 3.0, and xcelsius shows the dahsboard as flash.
So I think you should find a program to view flash in iPhone.
    Kind regards.

  • Error in PPT after exporting Xcelsius dashboard

I exported a Xcelsius dashboard into a MS Power Point. If tried to open in the same sytem it is working fine.
if tried to open in some other system, I am getting the following error.
"Some controls in this presentation can't be activated. They might not be registered in this computer."
The version of the flash player in the system the PPT was created and the system in which we tried to view is 9.0.115.0
Please suggest a solution to resolve this problem.

    > 9.0.115.0
This is the version of Flash Player?
I'm not an expert on this but it sounds like security settings. When I export to ppt, the notes section of the slide generate has this text describing the security settings:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT XCELSIUS CONTENT EMBEDDED INTO THIS SLIDE - PLEASE READ ON IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES!
This PowerPoint slide has Xcelsius content embedded into it and certain restrictions apply:
1). Information message shown when you open this slide deck: "Some controls on this presentation canu2019t be activated. They might not be registered on this computer".
You need the latest Adobe Flash Player on your machine to view the embedded Xcelsius content:
a). Close PowerPoint - make sure you DO NOT SAVE this slide deck.
b). Using Internet Explorer install the latest Adobe Flash Player from adobe.com
c). Open this PowerPoint slide deck again.
2). A design-time thumbnail is not shown for the Xcelsius content when you open this slide deck until you enter and exit Slide Show mode.
3). Office 2007 files (.pptx) do not support Xcelsius embedded content - save as an Office 2003 file (.ppt) instead.
For more information refer to the Export to Microsoft Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 section in the Xcelsius release notes.
4). The Xcelsius visualization shows error code messages (#2048, etc).
Flash security restrictions have prevented the embedded Xcelsius content from accessing external data.
To allow the Xcelsius embedded content to access external data refer to the Adobe Flash Player - Security Issues section in the Xcelsius release notes.
Note: To allow embedded Xcelsius content in a PowerPoint slide you have to add POWERPNT.EXE as a trusted Adobe Flash application:
              Office 2003 path example -  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE
              Office 2007 path example -  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\POWERPNT.EXE

  • Not able to print xcelsius dashboards from pdf files.

FYI. In case this has you stumped on how to print your dashboards from Adobe pdf you are not alone. You may have noticed that it is not possible to print your dashboards from Adobe pdf documents.  It is not possible to actually print any active embedded flash document from an Adobe pdf document and this behaviour is by design. You can however print your dashboards if they are exported to other formats such as such as MS Word or MS Excel.  Xcelsius 2008 does include a 'Print' button which you can add to your dashboards to allow your users to print them.

  • Need to print Xcelsius dashboard to pdf file

I have a customer that wants to be able to print a displayed dashboard to a pdf file.  Does anyone know if there are custom components that can do this or be created to do this? We have suggested they install a print to pdf utility as a selectable printer but they don't want to do that.  When a dashboard is displayed they want to be able to print directly to a pdf file.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Thanks Pizzaman,
I will mention this to the team. I don't think our customer would want it that way but who knows.  Currently they have a Flex framework with our dashboards inside of their framework. They have a print to pdf button for their flex scorecard and feel it should be easy enough for us to create the same thing in our dashboards. We don't use flex in our environment. Their flex stuff is on their servers and our dashboards are on our servers.  We may be moving everything to our side of the house soon so a lot of things might change. When I tried to test our dashboards as exported to pdf I ran into security problems with some Adobe parts of the whole thing. We have a lot of Adobe stuff locked down because of security concerns. Being a defense contractor that's a way of life.

  • Create PDF export in landscape mode

    Hello!
I am searching for a possibility to export a Xcelsius 2008 presentation to PDF in landscape mode. All exports are in portrait mode and I can`t find any settings within Xcelsius 2008 to change it.
Does anyone know how to do it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

    Hello Christian,
As far as I know there is no possibility to have an influence on the appearance of the PDF.
But you can export the dashboard as *.swf and use Adobe Acrobat to implement the dashboard in whatever format into a PDF.
    Regards,
    Ralf

  • Xcelsius dashboard shows up in the middle of the PDF instead of the top

Whenever I export any dashboard to PDF the top 1/3 of the PDF is always a balnk white space. How do I fix it?

I use the Crop feature (Document->Crop Pages...) of Acrobat to remove the white space from the top and bottom, leaving just the canvas area visible. Then, you can use Ctrl+L to display the dashboard in full-screen.

  • Exporting Report to PDF in Landscape

    Hello All,
After my Hyperion report finished, I exported the result into PDF. Due to having too many rows, HTML and Excel are not viable options. After the export finished writing to a PDF file, I checked the report and realized that unless I find a way to save the result in a Landscape mode, each page of the report will be broken into two pages. Does anyone know how to export reports in PDF format in a Landscape mode?
    Thank you,
    Seyed

    Hello Ameuras,
Thank you for your help. I was able to use the information in your response and then save the PDF report in a Landscape format. However, this still prints each row on two pages. Next, I will try your other suggestion to see if using 'Scale To Fit' would solve this problem.
    Thanks again,
    Seyed

  • Can a PDF file in landscape mode have two pages open at once

I notice when I use ibooks to read a pdf document on my ipad that in normal mode it woks just like a book with one page open, but when I turn to landscape mode, the document just greatly reduces in size, and centers on the screen, where as a book opens two pages side by side, that still turn like a normal book. Is there any way or app that will allow a PDF document to act like a book does in landscape mode, where two pages are open at once side by side and still a decent size. I know it will have to be smaller than it would be in regular mode, but a book works great in Landscape mode.

    Get a free DropBox account.
Drag the files into DropBox and you can get a link to send to your friend to download.
Another option with DropBox is to use a Shared folder. If you share files a lot with your friend, setup a Shared folder and everything in the folder will be shared. Obviously they also need to setup a free DropBox account (works on Windows). Just keep the folder size under the 2GB free limit.
For the future... OS X Yosemite Mail coming this fall, will offer a way to share files like DropBox.
Mail Drop allows you to attach large files via iCloud.
Attachments can be up to 5GB in size. -new feature in OS X 10.10 Yosemite Mail

  • Filling out PDF forms in Landscape Mode

I have used Preview to fill out PDF forms in Portrait mode and it's very nice because I can save the modified file and email it to others, or just keep it for reference. Anyway, I downloaded a PDF form and tried to fill out the text. It highlights the form fields just right, with the blue glowy rectangle and everything, and when I type in the text it appears just fine, until that field loses focus, then the text goes goofy--it shows up starting at the right hand side of the field and goes in the wrong direction. It's as if Preview still thinks that the PDF is in portrait mode even though it's in landscape mode. Do you know what I'm doing wrong or if there's a fix out there?

  • Generation of report in landscape mode using PDF template

    Hi,
I am creating a report using pdf template, I have used the repeating group i.e I have used the code <?rep_field="BODY_START"?> and <?rep_field="BODY_END"?> as the repeating area and with the field which needs to be repeated i have used the code <?rep_field="T1_G1"?> in order to display data in the loop.
But finally when the report is displayed, the report acts strange ...sometimes it fails to open says that an internal file read error occured , whereas if I remove the <?rep_field="T1_G1"?> code it works fine , other times if at all it displays the report, the values in the repeating field operlap each other and they are vertically oriented wheras for landscape mode it should be vertical, I tried setting the properties and locking the fileds but all in vain.
    Kindly help ASAP!!
    Thankz
    -Gaurav

I have had the same problem for a year. I never got my TAR answered so I tried again. I am waiting...again. Portrait works fine for me. I am using it to generate po's with custom headers. The only part that does not work for me is the total appears on every page, not just the last one. If I get an answer, I will let you know...

  • Pdf file, How do I fit by width in landscap mode on iphone?

In landscap mode, pdf file show full page and I have to zoom in everytime. I want to fit width when put in landscap. How to??

Doesn't seem to be a setting for this in iBooks 3.1 (tested on both an iPad [3rd Gen] and iPhone 4S both w/iOS 6.1.3)
However, a little experimentation reveals -- it depends on the PDF.
If the PDF is text (I used 'PowerShell in Action' - a programming book) you can use the same method as Mobile Safari - Double tap in the text and that section expands to fit the width of the screen in landscape or portrait. Centered on where you tapped in the text.
If the PDF is a single image - like a PDF comic book (I used a volume of 'Girl Genius'), it appears that the double tap to expand doesn't work. If the PDF is already full width, a double tap does appear to shrink it back to full page view.
Unfortunately, this seems to be on a per page basis. When you flip to the next/previous page it goes back to full page view.
Note: There are other PDF viewer apps/apps with PDF viewers built in that behave differently, more like you are looking for. Some are even free.
Hopefully Apple will improve this in the next version.
And, of course, the obligatory disclaimer -  YMMV with different PDFs, versions of iBooks, and iOS and this is just a random comment on the Internet. Not warrantee expressed or implied. And my employer (which is not  Apple) has no idea I just wrote this.
