Exporting "Youtube HD" Preset results in no video just black screen

Hello,
I am a new user to Premiere CS5. I made a short video and would like to put it online in HD for youtube and vimeo. I shot the footage using a Canon DSLR t2i in HD at 24fps.
I am trying to export it in order to upload it to youtube and I tried to the preset under H.264 that is called Youtube HD. When it finished I went to watch the video and it was just a black screen but the audio worked fine. The Export video box is checked so it is not that.
I exported using Quicktime Format but the quality was a little worse. I am now trying HDTV format to see how that turns out.
Is there something I can do to make the Youtube HD preset work correctly? I imagine that's the best option for uploading to youtube.

YouTube videos a black screen an no play button since installing Flash10. Firefox 3.6.14 and OS X.4.11 What to do?

Re Mac intel... Firefox updated to 3.6.14 and advised Flash 10 be installed. I did this and now on YouTube videos all I see is a black screen with no play or pause button. System is OS X10.4.11
Do I need to uninstall Firefox and re load an earlier version and an earlier version of Flash etc... will I lose my bookmarks and firebug? If so not worth it.
Would really appreciate help so sad not to be able to view any YouTube. Many thanks, Clare

Hi again - since writing the above I have posted on Adobe>Webplayer>Flash forum the following request and will post on here if I receive a reply that works:
Firefox updated to 3.6.14 and then advised Flash 10 be installed. I did this and now on YouTube videos all I see is a black screen with no play or pause button. System is OS X10.4.11 Have now followed Adobe instructions to Uninstall Flash player on system and then Install Flash 10. But still at YouTube Safari says Flash 10 is needed and in FF shows a black box only. I use Intego virus barrier but this has never blocked an update before. Flash is enabled in Firefox and Safari.
eldnolb at Adobe forum advised: Go to this site and right click on the Flash logo, Settings, Display Settings. UNcheck the hardware acceleration.

But when I go to this page no logo appeared for me to right click on, which again means that Flash player is not working... so I could not access Settings, Display Settings, Uncheck etc. Was advised to start a new Mac entitled thread. Clare

HT204291 Video is black screen

I am getting a black screen when I AirPlay a home video captured by ipad3.
Air playing other video sources like YouTube works fine as does still frame pictures.
IOS is latest version and no updates available.
Suggestions?

seems to be a problem with ClicktoFlash. I went back to 1.5.3. The one available on the Apple extensions page causes the problem.

After an iPad update yesterday I sent a video and it is not viewable just black screen but sound is there. I sent it to my windows 7 laptop and there it is not viewable at all the start button appears crossed through.only works on apple PC

After yesterday's update sent a personal video it was not not viewable , i was told only black screen but audio, will play on apple pc but not windows.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Mov videos show black screen after latest update (idvd, iweb)

Hi MacUsers,
I am facing a severe problem after updating my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.6.8) with iDVD 7.1.2 and the iWeb Update. I opened a keynote'09 presentation and encountered that most videos do not show up or just show a black box. Then I tried to open the original mov videos with QuickTime Player 10 and 7 but also black screen. Everything worked perfectly before the update. Any ideas how to solve the problem? It is urgent because I have to give a presentation tomorrow. By the way, using VLC works fine, but this does not help me with keynote. Thanks for any answers.

It seems that there is still a problem with QuickTime. All other players such as MplayerX, VLC or mediAvatar can handle the mov videos (Apple Motion Jpeg A). Is there a solution?

Watching a video on the train and the 3G cellular connection is lost (through the tunnels). A message appears with "Dismiss" or "Settings" which interrupts the video so hit "Settings" to turn airplane mode on so avoid the constant connection lost message. Go back to the video and nothing but a black screen with no controls or ability to do anything apart from hit the home button.
A hard reset, quitting the app, or any other trick does nothing. The app is still a black screen.
Any ideas apart from a full restore?

Sorry, I am a WiFi only iPad owner. I have no clue how to get the message to stop. But now I do understand that the comment was made so you could describe what was going on at the time.
If my first suggestion doesn't work, another thing you can try is to double tap the home button and scroll the the ro the iPod control and hit the resume play arrow. Then go back to the videos app and see if it works.
Ironically and oddly enough, a third "fix" that I've read about involves downloading a free podcast, or playing a podcast in the iPod app for a short time, quit and then go back to the videos app and try again!

No video just white screen w/ Sound

Hi,
I'm having a problem playing 1 .mov file within quicktime or any other video player for that matter. It's 4G in size and is HD 1080i60. I get sound but no video (just a white screen). I upgraded to Quicktime pro 7 but it didn't help. Does anyone know of a fix for this.

I'm still running FCP 4. I guess it's time for me to upgrade.Good. HERE is a link to the HD v4.5 download. Believe you will require your FCP v4 serial for the form. I downloaded the update when it first came out via the auto client software 3-4 years ago but never used it as I didn't have a "true" HD file source and began using FCE at about the same time. In any case, as Kirk indicated, you will likely be disappointed with some of the upgrade features -- especially those that are CPU dependent. On the other hand, having the additional components installed may allow you to perform HD to SD conversions in QT Pro if that is all you need here -- just takes a bit longer.

I need help with Final Cup Pro X...Video clip Black Screen

Hi,
While I was editing some video clips for a movie i am making (the files im using are .mov), everything was going fine then i made one mistake on one video then every video went black. There is no audio to the video clips. the begining part of the video played fine but the last clip is black.
the last clip playback is black.
my other clips that are not on the time line playback is black too.
then when i switched the media to show proxy, i got this....
but the beginning of the clips on the timeline
everything was working just fine till i made that one mistake on that one clip.
my mistake was slowing down the clip with with transition. Then **** happened.
Please help.

Export Mpeg4 to Ipod results in no video

When I use the export a Mpeg4 video to Ipod option in Quicktime Pro the resulting file has audio but no video.

I used the Mpeg4 to Ipod selection.
There is no "MPEG-4 to iPod" export option in QT Pro. There are, however, "Movie to iPod", "Movie to MPEG-4", and "Movie to QT Movie" export options in QT Pro. Since the first possibility has no user options which would normally interfere with your video playback, it is necessary to know the video format of the source file you are attempting to convert. In the case of the latter two options, it is possible to accidentially "turn off" video conversion and it is necessarry to know more about the specific workflow you used.
The Mpeg4 file plays fine in Quicktime 7 pro
I am still confused as to whether it is the source file or the target file that "plays fine in Quicktime 7 pro." The reason I am asking is to eliminate the possibility that you may have started with an MPEG-4 file and used the "None" encode option thinking this would "pass" the original video track to the target file to save conversion time. If that was your original intention, then the "Pass through" option should have been used instead. On the other hand, I can interpret your answer as meaning the the target file producerd in QT Pro plays fine in that player but does not play the video in other players, online/in browsers, or on the iPod in which case there may be some sort of software conflict invloved here.

Exporting FCE as WMV results in clipped video

I am still trying to export from FCE to a usable file on PC. Tried exporting as a wave media file. I got a usable file, but the file has been clipped in exporting. What was a 10 minute clip is only the first 29 seconds of that movie. Any ideas why it is doing this?

What are you using to convert WMV? Have you installed the demo version of Flip4Mac? There is no WMV export from FCE without third party support. You have to be using something.

Slideshow export video p1080 black screen only

I'm trying to export video, a 60 min slideshow, all tiff's, all previewed, no music but all I get is a 3.6 GB large mp4 file which is black, from start to end.
Does anyone has an idea what the problem could be?

I'm trying to use Quicktime X, I'm on Mac. I exported a smaller version of the video (960x540) which worked but quality is by far not what I need.
I have to try p780 later to see if that works, but 1080p does not give me anything but black..

Youtube video is black screen

When I click on a YouTube video, the window has the word H264 right in the middle of it.
When I click on it to play, the window turns black. I cannot see any video. The sound plays ok.
I have tried many videos and it just won't play anymore.
It still works ok in firefox though.
Close all tabs and print plus are extensions just added recently.
Also I have ClickToFlash, but I have used that before with no problems.
How do I remove extensions?
I also had Wondershare Free YouTube Downloader installed, but I ran the uninstaller and that did not fix the problem.

Sudden video crashes/black screen flashing with MSI GTX 680 + MSI GT 640 (PhysX)

I've been running an MSI GTX 680 Lightning + MSI GT 640 (dedicated PhysX) setup since last September with excellent results. Most of my Steam games would crash in less than 10-15 minutes before I added the 640.
Just this week, however, I've noticed a new and different problem. While playing several different games, the monitor randomly flashes black, then the game stutters and finally my whole system crashes. I've never seen this before. The only thing that seems to correct the problem is to scale back the resolution from 2560x1600 to 1920x1200 or even 1280x800.
The problem seems to be getting worse. Now, while doing anything on my PC, the system freezes briefly, the screen rapidly goes black, then turns back on and system unfreezes. This happens 3-5 times in a cycle then stops. The cycle repeats every few minutes and happened twice while typing this post.
I've got the latest graphics and other component drivers installed. All diagnostics say the video cards are working properly, but these problems persist.
Are these indications of failing video cards? Any/all suggestions appreciated.
My system specs: MSI GTX 680 Lightning 2GB, MSI GT 640 1GB (dedicated PhysX), i5-2500K, Asus P8Z77-V, Coolermaster V8, 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600, 4TB storage, Corsair HX1000, Dell 3008WFP, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

First of all remove the GT640 so we can check if the issue is solely related to the GTX680. Then monitor temps in load and idle using Afterburner (>>How to use MSI Afterburner<<)
If problem presists when not using the GT640 remove current drivers in safe mode using >>Driver Fusion<< and install latest MSI driver (http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N680GTX-Lightning.html#/?div=Driver&os=All). Yes, I know that driver is older than Nvidia one but it is a surely working one with the special MSI design and features.

Camera Pod Problem: Preview video is ok, Shared Video is Black Screen

We have several rooms with a USB or Firwire capture device and an NTSC PTZ camera feeding composite video.
For example, we have a Startech SVID2USB23 USB Composite Video Capture device with a Sony EVI-D70 PTZ camera.
The problem is that we can "Start My Webcam" and get good preview video, but when we "Start Sharing", the screen goes black.
I did find a couple related postings in the forums:

From the postings, I think the problem is that the video may not be 640x480@20fps.
But I have to ask, why do we get good video in the preview window?
In the second link above, it's mentioned that higher resolutions and frame rates will be supported in future releases.
Is this issue addressed in the version 9.0 release scheduled for December 7?
For a work around, I saw the Talking Stick Add-on which looks very interesting.
I also found that ManyCam (http://www.manycam.com/) works to address the problem.
These work, but add a layer of complexity for our users that we would like to avoid.
Is there an easier way to address this problem?
Does version 9.0 fix the issue?

I had the same issue when I upgraded. The "fix" currently via Adobe support is Stop the camera, open Camera and Voice Pod Preferences, move the slider to Low or Medium, restart the camera.
I am using the Osprey 230 card in 8 rooms, I would have been **** if I couldn't get this working. I changed all my templates to reflect this change so I don't have to troubleshoot every time we have a class.
