ExportPDF doesn't convert scanned words correctly

https://cloud.acrobat.com/#exportpdf doesn't convert scanned words into words in Word. It used to. Nobody seems to be addressing this.

I'm only using the website, which I've used before with scanned documents with fuzzier letters.
I don't see how the text in the print-screen image sent to ExportPDF could be any clearer, and yet I get no text results at all. In the past, I could get quite a mess of characters and symbols from the OCR's attempt (example an h being translated as ln). I'm definitely rethinking my software choice.
It's interesting. The document I looked at in the forum for turning off OCR doesn't seem applicable to the current ExportPDF screens. (I looked there to see if something was maybe set up wrong in my connection.) That made me wonder, too, if the OCR software had changed.

The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
You may use any 3rd part OCR solution to scan as editable text.
If you have Microsoft Office suite there is a good chance the office suite provide this kind of capabilities:

What did you get a trial of? Adobe doesn't offer free trials of the Acrobat.com online services; did you get a free trial of Acrobat, perhaps? If so, you can save a PDF directly to Word from Acrobat, by choosing File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.

Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
- a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
- other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.
This problem seems to have been around for years, without any proper solution from Apple and/or Adobe! To me, this is very embarrassing!

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

On the Numbers application on my Ipad, the 'VALUE' function doesn't seem to work correctly on the string/text which I want to convert to a value. It gives me an error (in my example: 'VALUE requires a string specifying a number, but found "-14308.65" instead.'
The exact same document (if converted from Numbers to excel), displays the converted string/text correctly in MS Excel as a value though.

click on the cell then in the formula bar and use the arrow keys to move the cursor to see if there are any other characters in the cell that could confuse the function. Also make sure the localization for your country is correct in System Prefs.
Maybe copy the EXACT contents of the cell and post here.

I have two pdf docs that I converted to Word Docs using Acrobat Pro. How do I extract one page from the first doc and insert it into the second doc? When I "select all" it grabs the entire document. I need to take pages out, put other pages in, and edit some of the text.

Try triple-clicking in the text that you want to select--it can sometimes be tricky to select text in a converted document. If that doesn't work, it could be that the PDF document was created from a scanned document, and OCR wasn't enabled when you converted the document. (However, OCR is enabled by default when you convert via the ExportPDF website.)
If you're unable to select text by triple-clicking, let us know. I would be happy to take a closer look at your files.

The script I'm writing should normally able me to send to my customer a personalised mail with an attach pdf document. The mail and the pdf are personalised for each customer. You can convert PDF to Word using either the ExportPDF online service, or Acrobat. I checked your account, and it doesn't look like you've purchased an ExportPDF subscription. If you want to give Acrobat a try, you're welcome to download a 30-day trial from the link I reference above. In Acrobat, you choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.

EXPORTPDF has corrupted all my Word files. Fix ?

I subscribed to EXPORTPDF today and converted a pdf document to a Word document. Now I notice that ALL of my Word documents are corrupted with strange text/widgets. How do I remove EXPORTPDF and return all my Word docs to their original state ? Help please !

It doesn't do that, so far as I know it isn't even possible. So, something else has happened. Perhaps you can post a screen shot of one of these bad Word documents and we can suggest what next.

Reader itself doesn't allow you to convert to Word; you need an ExportPDF subscription to do that. If you have a subscription and are unable to access ExportPDF, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader by choosing Help > Check for Updates. Install any available updates, as earlier versions could prevent you from accessing your ExportPDF subscription.

It sounds like you used ExportPDF to convert a PDF to a Word document. You can find your converted file (the Word document) by signing in to your account at cloud.acrobat.com. Click the Files tab, select the file that you want to download, and then click the Download File icon (to the left of the trash can).

Is it possible for automator to convert all word documents in my dropbox folder to apple's "pages" on iCloud and keep the same folder organization? I am a teacher and want to switch from using microsoft office on my macbook pro to using pages/number/keynote. I am hoping to get an iPad next year and go "paperless" with lesson plans and gradebooks and I heard that pages/numbers/keynote are great on the ipad. I'd like to write an automator script (workflow?) to convert all my documents in dropbox to pages and have them stored on iCloud, then be able to access the files on my macbook pro and ipad. Thanks!

Create an AppleID under different email addresses for each family member at http://appleid.apple.com
If they don't already have their own email address just setup a free one with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or whoever you prefer.
Then on each device sign into iMessage with the users own AppleID in:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Tap AppleID at top > Sign Out, then sign back in again with the correct AppleID.
