Exports have serious pink tint

Starting today, all of my exports whether through email or direct have a very serious pink tint that renders them useless.
Anyone else have the problem?  Any suggestions for a fix.  MAC OSX 10.8.1  Aperture 3.3.2  Problem may have started with 10.8.1 upgrade.
Thank you in advance

First thing to check is the Image Export Color Profile ("Aperture➞Presets➞Image Export").
The Image Export Preset used when emailing from Aperture is set at "Aperture➞Preferences➞Export➞Email Photo Export Preset".

  • Mac Mini shows blue or pink tint using DVI to VGA adaptor on 800x600 HDTV

My new Mac Mini won't retain the color settings for this TV/Monitor that is connected via the DVI to VGA adaptor. I've tried to find the display using the Mac utility. I finally got the Mac to create a color profile for the TV by plugging a USB cable from the TV to the Mac, while the VGA cable was also connected. The Mac displayed a new color profile called RCA/ProScan (the TV brand), and the colors looked acceptable. I then saved that color profile. The monitor would then revert to a very blue tint, or a very pink tint without notice. I thought it might have been when I disconnected the USB cable, or when I re-booted the Mac Mini, but I can't detect a cause & effect pattern. I might try to connect the TV using a DVI to S-Video adaptor instead of VGA, but I don't know if it will help. Can someone help? Thanks.

Make sure it isn't a simple cabling problem. Check all the connections and tighten down the thumb screws. The mini is prone to a poor video connection and you need to make sure the video cables are tightly attached.

  • How can I get rid of pink tint in Elements 6 "Editor" ?

How can I get rid of pink tint in Elements 6 "Editor" ?  I received Elements 6 free with a scanner. It works o.k. on my Windows XP, except whenever I go to Editor workspace, the photo turns completely pink -- no other color.  I can use the various tools on the pink, but this is useless, as I don't want a pink photo. Can't even convert it to black & white -- just stays pink. I tried everything I could think of to get a normal color transfer to editor from the organizer, but no luck.  Please help.

This is an update to the pink tint problem.  The problem mysteriously FIXED ITSELF today, after being stubbornly pink for weeks.  I have no idea what happened, as I didn't do anything -- it was somehow already fixed when I started the program.  So maybe it will revert again, who knows, but hoping for the best.

  • Importing Photoshop picture files to IMovie6= PINK TINTED PICTURES?

Most of my old pictures were (scanned) imported from PhotoShop Elements3 as Photoshop Files. After importing they change to "pink-tint". I also know if I "save as" the files to JPEG format they're ok. I've only noticed this since IMovie6. I can't believe I'm going to have to change each file to JPEG? Is there a work around comming to IMovie6 HD?
    IMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   1GHz. 20" SuperDrive

I wouldn't count on a fix in iMovie.
It's pretty easy to fix the images in Photoshop, however. Create a Photoshop Action that saves the image as a JPEG, then use the Automate > Batch command to invoke that Action on all the images stored in a folder, saving the new JPEG images in a different folder.
Test the new image settings first. Note too that it may be possible to scan to an image that works correctly from the start, without having to fix it later.

  • Pink tint after 10.8.2 and firmware update

I'm not sure if anyone else is seeing this but my MBPr is behaving very oddly.  I installed the 10.8.2 update yesterday and everything went prefectly.  I then installed the firmware update and all the other updates (iPhoto, etc).  This evening (about 24 hours later) many of the images on my screen have a fairly dark pink tint almost like I'm selecting them. I've tried re-installing the 10.8.2 combo update, resetting the PRAM and the SMC and have restarted a bunch of times. I attached an image to show what I'm talking about with the pink.
So far, I think the is the most buggy piece of Apple hardware I've owned. I'm also seeing some of the image retention issue and the left side of my trackpad isn't clicking anywhere near as well as the right side.  I guess I'll have to make the 50 mile trek to the nearest Apple Store this weekend and see if they can help.
If you look at the image below you can see the text tools are pink, some of the menu item icons are pink and a lot more you can't see like App windows, widgets, etc.

My display is working great - and I've been through the 10.82 update, the 10.8.2 update, etc., but no firmware update (your's was likely Retina-specific).
Your ATB should just be pug-and-play. Since you're still under warranty, I would contact AppleCare and possibly setup and appointment with the Genius Bar folks at your local Apple Store: something's not right - whether it's you display or your notebook.

  • Color Shift - pink tint

I own a Panasonic Lumix FZ20. The photos always look and print great in every photo program I have used except for Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Lightroom, both Adobe products. In Elements and Lightroom they always open up with a pink tint to them. In Elements 4.0 they told me to change the color profile and this did seem to work. The real question is why do the photos look and print great in every other program without having to change anything, except the Adobe products. Also, even with the pink tint, they print out normally. Thanks for your help.

I hesitate to say its the same problem I was having, but I have to wonder if its not related.
Here is the thread where my issue is discussed, so you can see if it gives you any help with your problem: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc3b81d/9
Have you ever used your TIFF mode on you camera? if you have, do those images seem to have a pink cast to them as well? I think as a quick test, it would be interesting to capture an image (Like a evenly lit neutral gray surface) as a TIFF and take another shot of it as a JPEG and see if they both look as you would expect on import to LR.
I don't want to get you off track though, if you are new to color management, learning the basics of it it is something that will serve you well in the long run. The problem I was having could just as likely have nothing to do with your issue.
Also if you have a way to upload the test image somewhere I would be interested in downloading it and seeing if it exhibited the same behavior as the images I was having problems with.
    Good Luck!
    Doc.

  • NOTE 3 purple/pink tint or hue on half of the screen.

Hi all! Im on my 2nd note 3 and this one is worse than the 1st.  I have a slightly noticeable purple/pink tint on half of my screen especially on the lowest brightness.  My first device had it on the top half. I went in yesterday on my 14th day and the sales rep saw it and exchanged it.  Of course i couldnt tell as bad because the lighting in the store is so bright.  Now i have it on the lower half and its slightly worse than my first.  Unfortunately I am just past the 14 return period.  I dont know what to do.  Now it is very noticeable.  It almost seems to be getting worse.  Samsung has the worst quality control.  I wouldnt be that upset if i didnt spend $700 on this device.  I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

  • Pink Tint in pics

Hi I am getting a pink tint if i try to take a pic of white objects. Does anyone have a known solution to this problem?

Yes I am . To cover the edges and the back of the device. Is that related?

  • Macbook Pro Display has a pink tint to it

Ever since I upgrade to 10.6 my display has been wiggin out on me. Half the screen usually has this pink tint to it. Sometimes it's only 2-3 inches across but goes to the top and bottom. Don't know what's going on with my display. Is it due to heat? Cause my laptop still gets freaking hot. I have done a hardware test and passed. When I connect it to another display, it doesn't show up on the other monitor. I can grab the top of the monitor and by pressing gently I can make it go away, but as soon as I release it goes back. I used to be able to press on it and it would go away for awhile. Any suggestions?

I am encountering the same problem with my MBP. I was wondering if you have any updated information on what you have found out?

  • Why do my PRO-100 black and white prints have a color tint?

I am printing on the PIXMA Pro-100 printer and sometimes, for no apparent reason (?), my black and white prints will have a color tint (usually a "redish brown"), and then when printing again... same print, same settings... the same print will be fine, neutral with no tint at all.
    Any ideas why?
Also (maybe related?) I don't understand why the Photo-Cyan and Magenta ink cartridges are being depleted when I am NOT printing color, but only Black and White.  Am I missing something?  When setting up for printing I always make sure the "Black and White Print" feature is selected in the settings dialog "Quick Setup".  Doesn't this insure that only the black and grey inks are used as long as I am not "toning"?  In other words... if ONLY the black and grey inks are used, isn't the print supposed to be a neutral black and white print? Again... am I missing something?
    FYI:
I am printing on Canon Pro Luster and Plus Semi-Gloss papers.
Under "Options - Color Management" I have selected:
(color handling) Photoshop Elements Manages Colors
    (image space) Adobe RGB (1998)
(printer profile) Canon PRO-100 <LU> 1/2 Photo Paper Pro Luster
    (rendering intent) Perceptual
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It looks like you have the settings pretty close.  But the fact is all printers use all their cartridges to print B&W.
     Whoa, why?
Yes it is true and the reason is this.  B&W consists of 256 shades of gray. From totaly black which is 0 to white which is 256.
If you have just one, two or three cartridges to make 256 different blacks and grays all the way to white, it simply isn't possibile.
The ony thing a printer can do is, amount of ink and how long.  So it makes up for this by using all it's cartridges.  However, in Canon it seems like the Pro-100 tints show up more than it should.  There are dedicated B&W printers but they are designed differently to accomplish true B&W.
The tint will be different on different papers.  You can experiment to find the paper that does best for you.  Try a more gloss type paper and see if you like the B&W.  You can try Red River papers, too.  They will assist you in picking a good B&W paper.
You can also experiment with filters in PSE.  Adding a little blue may help.  Just give it a try.
But the bottom line is you are no doing anything wrong.  It is just the charchter of the beast.

  • IS THIS LEGAL ? I HAVE SERIOUS DOUBTS !

I have just seen an advert for the Full Retail FCE 4 from a POWER SELLER on eBay.
The price is £50 as opposed to £129 normally.
This is the explanation he gives for the low price:-
"In this auction we have another great deal for the professioanl video editing suite of Apple Final Cut Express 4. We have aquired some serial codes and a DVD master disc for this software. Each purchase will be supplied with a BURNT DISC of the original master and their own unique serial for installation and registration.
We must stress that each serial code can only be used once otherwise a breach of copyright has been made."
I have never heard this talk about "acquiring serial codes" before and am sure it must be illegal but can't be absolutely certain.
    Any ideas ?

    Further info:-
This business also sells Mac computers amongst many other things and claims that the FCE 4 and other software it sells is on a "RETAIL BULK LICENSE".
Put simply it sounds as though they are buying Bulk Licenses so that they can install these applications as and when necessary on the computers they sell using their MASTER DISC.
Sometimes they buy more Bulk Licenses than they require and sell them off in this way.
It almost sounds plausible but I have serious misgivings.
The company, apart from trading elsewhere, has been a Power Seller on eBay for the past 4 years, so you would imagine that if they were dodgy, they would have been spotted by now.

  • Why does my iPad 2 have a yellowish tint?

Yesterday I returned my iPad 2, the original one I bought at the Apple store a few months ago. It had a dead pixel so the gladly gave me another iPad 2 as an exchange. The Apple employee explained that the one im getting new is a refurbished iPad 2 and made me sign couple things regarding that, which I did. After bringing it back to my place and turning it on, I realized the screen didn't have that bright, crystal clear look as the original  one I bought.  It had this sorta, barely yellowish tint and not to mention the home button is totally, completely, not working( that's besides the point) I'm returning it today again. My question is will this one I get today probably have that yellowish tint as well since it'll be a refurbished iPad 2?? Is it possible I can ask for one thats not been refurbished since  the one I original purchased for $599.00 wasn't refurbished?
    Tommy Vercetti

I've had this problem ever since I got my iPad 2 (2 yrs ago too probably). Never got a solution. Even with over head noise cancelling headphones I struggle to hear it. It's fine without headphones.
    Good luck

First of all, uninstall it with the uninstaller.
    Then:
    Install the ENGLISH version.
Change the language in the CC app to Korean.
Install the Korean version. (DON't uninstall the English version)
Change back the langauge in the CC app to English.
When your OS is running in English, InDesign will run in English with Korean functionality added, if your OS is running in Korean it will take the Korean User Interface, so let your OS run in English.
Every installer language will add needed plugins for the work with that language. E.g. If I install Hebrew, I get RTL functionality in German version, only if I would change the OS language it would change the language of InDesign, InDesign takes always as UI language the language of the OS if available, if not (in your case you have uninstalled English before), it takes any version which is available in the order of languages specified in the OS.
If you need to run your program in a different language than the OS but you have installed it in the language of the OS it becomes more difficult. You would have to use some system tools which are able to force a program to open with a different language. Most of those tools are freeware.

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.
