Expoting after Mastering Tip

I was Mastering a 12 song project in LP7 and needed to quickly bounce the files for the final CD. I used export all tracks as audio files and because I had all the plugs on the tracks and none on the Master, I saved time by not bouncing each one seperatly. Each file came out the right length.

Thanks Paul!
Incidently I was just putting off individually bouncing all of my 18 audio files just now. Thought I'd browse the discussions for some welcome distraction. Tried out the tip with success and have saved myself a late night sitting at the desk.

  • Can't Read NTFS External HDD after Quick Tip Execution

I've recently shifted from Windows to OS X - and I wanted to use my 1TB Seagate External to transfer data from my old laptop to my Macbook Pro. I was aware that OS X cannot write to an NTFS drive and hence I executed the Quick Tip from this article to try and by-pass this:
    http://computers.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-how-to-write-to-ntfs-drives-in -os-x-mavericks--cms-21434
It worked like a charm for me a grand total of ONE TIMES. The next morning when I tried to re-connect my external, my Macbook can't seem to read the HDD anymore. Is there a way to fix this? If I go back to the Terminal and undo my previous changes, will that fix my problem or will that create more issues?
Please help - I can seem to access the External when i plug it to my old laptop, so thankfully it isn't corrupt or broken, but I want to be able to use it on my Mac too!

Do you think if I just upgraded to Yosemite this would solve itself?
I rather doubt it. That little tutorial has been posted here a number of times, too. I wouldn't recommend anyone using it. Especially not on a drive that has no backup of its contents.
You're in kind of a tight spot at the moment, being unable to copy everything off to the Windows laptop. Though technically, nothing on the external drive changed. The command you entered in Terminal changed OS X's behavior.
What I would do is this:
    1) If the external drive is connected to the Mac and is on, dismount the drive and turn it off.
    2) Use the Terminal command again to invoke the simple text editor nano and edit the file stab to remove the line you added. Basically, what you said above to undo the changes you made. Save the file and exit nano and then Terminal.
    3) Restart the Mac.
When the desktop is back up, turn on the external drive. It should appear on the desktop in normal read only mode. If you prefer to leave the external drive as NTFS, use a commercial package to enable read/write access in OS X. It's only $20 for Paragon's NTFS software.

  • ITunes v. 6 won't open after previous tips

    Hi all,
I upgraded my itunes and now it won't open. I've read all of the other postings and I've updated my NIS, deleted my unstable file, tried running iTunes without my firewall...I got nothing.
I get no error messages, nothing shows up in my task manager, I've tried un-installing and re-installing the program, but nothing is working.
Does anyone have any other advice? Is this one of those things that the apple store help people would fix?

    Hey guys.
Pretty complicated fix, but i got this one off someone in here, and although it took some time and effort, i'm back up and running on itunes.

  • How do i transfer a project to a cd for further mastering?

i know this is a simple question but how do i transfer a project to a cd or dvd-r for further mastering?also i am thinking about getting a macbook and am wondering how i would transfer my work in logic 8 on the imac to a brand new macbook?

    Hi,
1st: If you want to give your project to a studio, give them the whole Logic Project if they have logic, too. Once it is bounced, they can't to more than tweak the final mix.
If you have to bounce it for the studio, bounce it with 24 bit PCM and inportant : Do not use dithering! This step will added by the studio after mastering.
2nd: To export a project, make shure all Audio, Samples and all these things are saved inside the project folder. There is an option in the preferences when you make a new project. Try this out.

  • Basic Mastering in Logic 9 - Need Help!

I am brand new to Logic Pro (and DAW's in general - no other pro audio background). I have completed a musical recording, mixed it to my satisfaction, but I want to master it to get it to sound more loud and full. I have searched the web for help in how to do this, and while I have found some information, I'm a little stuck in terms of how to bounce my tracks into a single (or double) track that can then be mastered and tweaked. I want to convert my song into a format such as is seen in this YouTube video so that I can apply these mastering strategies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ch9n0uD8gg
Can someone point me to a step by steb resource? I'm stuck, thanks!

  • Bouncing vs Printing

    Hi,
My logic project is in 44khz 16bit.
When i bounce it after mastering with AdLimiter and the Multipressor, with or without dithering, the result is bad and very different from what i hear in Logic....
I tried to "print" all the audio in Logic, but the send effects are not audible (allthough routed to the right bus).
Any tips on mastering and exporting to CD-quality wav files?

    Hi Mnoiz,
What is the difference between bouncing and 'printing' to you?
iTunes - Logic - finder preview? same speakers? same room? car stereo? In iTunes
Nobody here can smell your skill level or knowledge or your workflow - these questions are all quite legit.

  • Itunes can't find my iPhone 4 and tells me to restore it?

First, my iPhone was in WiFi sync mode, but when it was in sync it always stopped because of an error -50. So I plugged my iPhone in my computer so it can sync normally, it worked but I couldn't do it with the WiFi anymore. After reading tips on this website, I plugged my iPhone, unchecked the 'sync over wifi' box, syncronised it with the cable, unplugged it, plugged it back and re-checked the same box. Now, iTunes is telling me that he can't read my iPhone and that I should restore it. I don't want to because I'm scared of losing things that are in my phone.. What can I do? Thanks for your help!

You should be importing ALL pics/videos taken with your iphone regularly as you would with any digital camera.  particularly before any restore/update.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone.
You can redownload apps if you have failed to transfer them to your computer before restore/update.

  • Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011: out of use! ITALIAN&ENGLISH help Me!!

    Hi all,
I expose my problem waiting to take my MBP in for service yesterday for the first time since I bought it (1 year and 8 months ago) I opened the back to give a slight blown at all, my first intention was to replace the silicone paste but once opened tO DO aNY VIEW oF aLL tHE cOMPACT I limited myself to give a tip to the fan, I unplugged the connectors from the logic of flat HDD player, fan and a small flat next to the fan, as it was, as previously stated my intention to change the thermal paste, but I did not.
all original location after a tip-light, tighten the screws, I tried to turn it on but then never gave any sign of life, and a noise or a screen nothing, as if the start button was turned off, the battery charge and the detector LED on the side works, but everything else, no!
dynamic intervention now seems quite simple and minimally invasive, I would like to understand what happened.
you know there is a protection block?
I noticed that the logic there are pressure sensors (like little pistons that I think are pressed from aluminum plate when it is repositioned.
as I said I do not know what to do, the web and forums I have not found anything about a dynamic like that.

Oh I actually have the problem in Mac OS, not even using the Bootcamp or Windows 7

I have now updated it back to 10.6.8. The problem still exists. This doesn't seem to be limited to an OS version and seems like an issue with device driver or with hardware. I will try to take it to the Apple store and see if this gets resolved.

  • How I export from HDV to SD (DVD)... What about HD versions suitable for Macs and Pcs?

    Hi,
I have just finished editing a short movie based on some high res stills combined with some 1080i HDV footage.
After completing the edit in CS4 (in a HDV 1080i environment) I went through Adobe Media Encoder in order to downsize and converting into an m2v file ready for my Encore project.
As you probably well know this is far from satisfactory in terms of the down sampling capabities shown by AME as well as the lack of proper colour conversion.
So, after giving up on the Dan Isaacs method, AVI synth didnt seem friendly to this user... as well as the inability of CS4 to frameserve..
My solution was to exported the Microsoft AVI using the HUFFYUV codec at 100% - With Progressive scan, when ever I interlaced my output it showed obvious interlacing in my player, odd or even fields first...
I then used VirtualDub to do the down sizing
Finally Procoder 3 to convert to m2v.
The results still have no proper colour conversion properties but look much sharper than the regular CS4 encode using AME
OK, that took an eternity to discover and still leaves me with another problem.
I want to export straight from CS4 to media type that can be played on both PC and Macs in HD.
Before I go down another gruop of dead ends and trial and error discoveries, could anyone here suggest a recomended and successful workflow?
       Many thanks,
    Phil.

let me see if I can help out a little here.
The problem with converting 1080i to SD in software is that FCP seems to do a not-very-good job of downsampling the image, particularly when you are going directly to DV. Details get blurry, and other compression artifacts become quite noticeable. I have also experienced trouble with the HDV fields not getting processed correctly if I go to SD mpeg directly from an HDV timeline or movie file.
Your best bet is one of the following workflows:
Export a 1080i HDV or AIC movie file and re-import to FCP. Place this clip into an anamorphic SD sequence. It doesn't matter if the sequence is DV or Uncompressed if you send the sequence directly to Compressor from FCP, because this will ignore any rendered material and use an uncompressed image buffer as it encodes the mpeg. Do not letterbox your widescreen video if you are going to DVD - widescreen DVD video should always be full-frame anamorphic.
Your other option is to attempt to use Compressor to down-res the sequence or a self-contained movie of your HDV, starting with one of the advnace format conversion presets in Compressor. However, you'll have to cutstomize the preset by turning on the frame controls, and testing the settings to make sure you are happy with the result. Turning on frame controls will increase the ratio of your encoding time anywhere from 4 to 20:1.
I have tried all of these methods, and none of them look as good as capturing the downconverted video from the deck after mastering to HDV tape.
    Hope this helps -

  • CD Image instead of burning a CD

After mastering, arranging and fine tuning the musictakes und arranged in Audition CD-Layout, I would like to produce a CD Image for Uploading to a CD-Manufactor. So I do not need a CD burned. How can I do this simple task in Audition, "burn a CD" in a imagefile, instead of a burning a real CD?

    Blues14 wrote:
But how is the philosophie of audition to proceed with a finished art work? If I can just do a quick working copie, how can I use the whole thing and bring it to the audience?
Art work, as we'd understand the term, would be processed by a different program in the CC range - like Photoshop. As for submitting CDs for replication, there are other options that are presently quite popular, and that Audition also doesn't support. Probably the most significant one is DDP. I'm not aware of any plans to implement this, but there are several other programs that do - Reaper, for instance. But if you want to use DDP comprehensively, you'd use software like DDP Creator from Sonoris Audio Engineering.
As for the philosophy - well, Audition is fundamentally an audio editor. There have been all sorts of arguments over the years as to what additional options it should support - if any. If you look at it now in the context of the rest of the CC software offerings, you would have to conclude that they all tend to specialise, certainly - but not exclusively. This is one thing that Adobe have never really sorted out, and because Audition sits rather uncomfortably between several camps, it's particularly vulnerable to just about everybody saying 'I want it to do x' . The problem with this is that if it starts trying to be all things to all people, it's going to detract from what it does best, simply because it will become more cluttered.
I'd say that the ultimate answer to this would be to have available plugin packages that handled all of the other things that people want, and not integrate them into the basic software. So you could have better CD creation, MIDI, and also a plugin that handles the integration of video in a more sensible way, since that's now another bone of contention.

Please can someone give me some guidance as this is starting to drive me crazy.

A few weeks ago I noticed that when I returned that the system had rebooted and was at the login screen and sometimes had generated a crash report.
I tried several things the last being to completly erase and re-install Mountain Lion which still hasn't cured the random reboots.
The Mac functions perfectly without fault during normal use and only has an issue occasionally after its been sleeping.
Below you will find the lastest crash report this morning at 7am and below that the previous one 29th December.

Both my MBP and IMAC random crashes one or more times per day.
I switched of sharing after your tip and no more crashes on both systems.
I did use Windows sharing on both systems. I just switched of all sharing.
    Regards, Ton

  • Printing problem Intel-based Imac

I've tried printing to my HP 895Cxi with little luck. After following tips (uninstall gimp, reset printers, etc.) found in this forum, I can get parts of some documents to print ok, while other parts (esp in mail) such as headers have letters that cut off at the bottom.
Apple says that the 895 Cxi and the Intel Macs are probably not compatible.
Has anyone had any luck with this issue?
The HP works great with Tiger on other non-Intel macs.
