Express 2.0.L.2 -Reply

We've experienced it in Express 2.0.L.0 and Forte said that it would be fixed in 2.0.L.3 which was supposed to be available around now but we've haven't received it yet.

Has anybody experienced the following problem on Express 2.0.L2 (works fine
on 2.0.G.3):
In the Application Workshop we can no longer set any fields as read-only.
If you do so Express ignores that setting and resets it to Writeable.
It seems forte's web site is not responding today we keep getting time-outs
so if anybody has any info on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

  • How to restore SQL Server 2008 database to SQL Server Express 2012

    How to restore SQL Server 2008 database to SQL Server Express 2012.
    I BACKED UP a SQL Server 2008 database from work, which runs the enterprise version of 2008, and I tried to RESTORE it to my new 64-Bit home PC which is running the new SQL Server Express 2012 64-Bit (Advanced Edition).
    But if fails. I get the following message text.
    Can anyone help me please. I thought restoring a 2008 database to the later version 2012 would be possible.
    Here is the error message. Thanks.
    TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
    Restore of database failed. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.RelationalEngineTasks)
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The database was backed up on a server running version 8.00.2039. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 11.00.3128. Either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a
    backup that is compatible with this server. (Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoExtended)

    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The database was backed up on a server running version 8.00.2039. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 11.00.3128. Either restore the database on a server that supports the

    Are you sure your database is SQL server 2008 from error message it seems your SQL server version is 2000.I guess you have multiple versions of SQL server.
    AFAIK you cannot restore backup of SQL server 2000 to 2012 directly .Restore it first to SQL 2008/2008R2 or 2005 then take backup again of new database created and then you would be able to restore it on 2012.Its kind of intermediate way
    Also make sure your DB size is less than 10 G as max DB size supported by Express edition is 10 G and if your DB size is more than 10 G restore will fail.
    You are also trying to restore enterprise DB backup on express edition so you will loose enterprise features on express edition

  • Unable to get URL Variable

    I've seen many posts about URL Variables, and I've tried implementing the solutions, but nothing seems to be working, so I'm hoping that someone out there might be able to help me with my situation.
    I have built a JSP page in JDeveloper. The page must identify the visitor using an id (passed as a url variable) as well as an account_id entered by the user on the page. I've created a procedure in my ModuleImpl.java file that receives both the url variable and account_id and then calls a pl/sql transaction I've created in the database.
    Thing is, if I take the procedure, which I've allowed to be shared to the Client interface, and plop it on my JSP Page, I get two inputs, one for the account_id and one for the url variable, meaning the user has to enter the url variable in the field for the procedure to work.
    I've tried modifying the value of the field and setting it equal to #{param.id}, but when I run the page, the input becomes a display field and is not sent to my java procedure. I've also tried the FacesContext way of getting a url parameter, but I can't get that to work in my java file.
    What I would like to have (or at least what my intensions were when I started this project) is to have the url variable field be hidden and automatically populated with the url variable so that when the customer enters their account_id and clicks submit, both the account_id and url variable are passed.
    Any idea on how to implement something like this?

    You can try setting the value of the parameter in the
    pagedef.xml file for your page directly using
    expression language.Thanks for your reply! I did that, or at least I think I did. Here is the NameData tag in my pagedef.xml file:
    <NamedData NDName="web_hash" NDType="java.lang.String"
    NDValue="${bindings.save_new_password_web_hash}"/>
    what I've tried doing, is changing the NDValue to the three values below, all of which didn't work (returned null):
    NDValue ="${param.id}"
    NDValue ="#{param.id}"
    NDValue ="${facesContext.externalContext.requestParameterMap['id']}"
    is there a different expression I should be using?
    Also, I will take a look at the solution you likend to.

  • Network drives show while connected

    I have a WD NetworkCenter Drive connects to the network via CAT5, here is the poser, this will not connect or be seen while I am wireless, but once I plug in the CAT5 Cable, all SHARED drive connections are there. Would some one please tell me what am I missing here? I have a MBP with the latest and greatest OS, up to date, and am connecting through and Airport Express.

    Thank you for the reply
    1. I have looked all over as to where I can set the router mode and cannot find anything referring to what you posted.
    2. The default router address the the home is based on starts with 192.168.58.55 the WD Netcenter Drives IP is 192.168.58.106 , so to me thats GOOD TO go Correct?
    3. I am accessing the Airport Express Via, the Airport Utility in the Utilities section on my MBP

  • Can you attach an external HD to the new iMac with a fusion drive?

    I'm trying to decide how to configure the new iMac I am going to buy. Can you attach an external HD to an iMac with a fusion drive?  I'm assuming it would be fine, but since the fusion drive is new, I don't want a nasty surprise.   Some of the new Mac Minis now have fusion drives, so has anyone added an external drive to it?

    This was a concern expressed in this thread: Worrying reply to Apples FAQ on new Fusion Drive
    However, Apple has since amended the FAQ, clarifying their earlier Fusion confusion.
    Therefore I believe the answer is yes, you can add an external USB HD. If Apple would only state that explicitly in this document, it would eliminate all doubt.

  • Install SQL Server 2014 in Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi,
    I had install a Windows server 2012 R2 Standard version in my VM and i make it as my domain server as well. I had create another account "ABC" and login with this new created account "ABC" in the same machine to install SQL server 2014,
    it give me a warning for rule "Computer domain controller" which I understand that I'm installing the SQL server in the domain controller is not recommended. I continue to install and when reach to Server Configuration, I found that SQL Server Analysis
    Service account is missing where I cannot found it.
    May I know is there any features that I missing or any way to make it done?
    Thank you.

    I found that SQL Server Analysis Service account is missing where I cannot found it.
    May I know is there any features that I missing or any way to make it done?
    Thank you.
    IIRC (If I remember correct)Configuring Analysis service account is after you have passed the Server configuration page. Did you selected analysis service checkbox when  on feature selection page. What editoon of SQL server 2014 you are installing are
    you installing express edition ? SSAS is not present in express edition

  • Help with updating databse with cfloop

    I want to move data from one column to another. I thought I could just query points2 column then use a cfloop to update the data to points1 column. Finally null out points2 column.
    Below is my code on the first 2 steps. Unfortunately, I get the following error:
    Syntax error in UPDATE statement.
    The error occurred in wwwroot\forms\changepoints.cfm Line 18
    <cfquery name="getPoints" datasource="#dsn2#">
    SELECT leaderID, points2
    from leaderboard
    </cfquery>
    <cfloop query="getPoints" startrow=1 >
      <CFQUERY NAME="DoUpdate" DATASOURCE="#dsn2#">
           UPDATE leaderboard
           SET points1=#getPoints.points2#
          WHERE leaderID=#getPoints.leaderID#    (line 18)
        </CFQUERY>
    </cfloop>
    What am I doing wrong?

    Like Dan said before, I think you could replace this:
    <!--- query to get all points --->
    <cfquery name="getPoints" datasource="#dsn#">
    SELECT leaderID, points2
    from leaderboard
    where (points2 IS not NULL) AND (tournID = 1)
    </cfquery>
    <!--- loop the points into the new column: points2 --->
    <cfloop query="getPoints" startrow=1 >
      <CFQUERY NAME="DoUpdate" DATASOURCE="#dsn#">
           UPDATE leaderboard
           SET points1=#getPoints.points2#
           WHERE (leaderID=#getPoints.leaderID#) AND (tournID = 1)
        </CFQUERY>
    </cfloop>
    With this:
    <cfquery name="updatePoints" datasource="#dsn#">
    UPDATE leaderboard
    SET points1=points2
    WHERE (points2 IS NOT NULL) AND tournID =1
    </cfquery>
    Update queries run record by record, so you don't have to worry about it scrambling the values between rows (which you expressed as a concern in reply to Dan).  It's best to let the database handle this rather than by looping in ColdFusion - it will be much more efficient that way.

  • Clarification: Varargs and Heap Pollution

    My reply -- somewhat late -- to yesterdays [debate on varargs|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10941372#10941372].
    jduprez wrote:
    OK let's approach this with care...
    In Java variable arity methods are implemented by boxing into arrays whose types are reified and covariant. Coupled with generics and erasure this opens the door to heap pollution
    I don't understand the part I underlined in your statement. Can you clarify it?Well there is a reason one can not construct an array of a non-wildcard parameterized type, the potential for heap pollution:
    Whatever<Integer>[] ints = new Whatever<Integer>[1]; // error
    Object[] objs = ints;
    objs[0] = new Whatever<String>(); // no ArrayStoreException
    Whatever<Integer> wi = ints[0]; // no ClassCastException
    // sometime much later in unrelated code:
    int i = wi.gimme(); // ClassCastException -- where does that come from??Heap pollution is bad and the reason we get an error, it does not compile. However, varargs let you implicitly do, what you can not do explicitly, all you get here is a warning:
    <T> T[] makeArray(T... ts) { return ts; }
    Whatever<Integer>[] ints = makeArray(new Whatever<Integer>(1));
    I don't understand why some here have such an aversion to truth.Seeing George as a poster with a history of helpfulness and good judgment, I'm a bit deterred by this absolute satementWell, my statement was all facts and he answered with :headdesk:; I understand he was just frustrated and I misinterpreted.
    You have no problem disagreeing with others' opinions, but when you make a factual error and are corrected then that's outrageous.George might have been more explicit. Maybe he doesn't see the factual error that you corrected in your post - I don't either.He said varargs were not uncharted territory, but -- as explained above -- they are in Java.
    Perhaps there is some other way I should be interpreting your response?He might hypothetically have been astonished by what he possibly perceived as a slightly misinformed reply on your part, and didn't care to elaborate on it, as the statement itself was not argumented...
    Myself had the (deliberately provoked?) knee-jerk reaction that you were just spelling Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt in a topic that doesn't really need these;I apologize, I suppose I was just nitpicking and, worst of all, unclear about it; I really should have left it alone.
    but as I understand from your posting history that you're interested in memory and generics issues and that you have certainly studied those fields more than I have, I have no doubt that you can explain your position in a more elaborate reply.Thank you, I hope to have done that with this post.
    You might be better offf starting a new topic, preferrably in the Java Programming forum, as I suspect that your arguments are a bit too elaborate for "New to java", plus the current topic is already plagued by a lot of off-topic remarks! Absolutely.
    With kind regards
    Ben

    Hello Ben,
    thank you for this clarification. I discovered it only today - I added a link in the original discussion.
    As stated in the post you linked to, I stumbled on the officially-defined meaning of heap pollution a couple of days after we had this "argument" (until that I had completely mistaken the meaning of this expression), and I edited my reply at that time to open the possibility that, well, you might be right after all...
    I stand by my claim that your comment in the other discussion was way too terse to be taken seriously - this new elaboration is very welcome, and proves your point.
    As you note, however, the occurence of the problem must have been deemed rare enough that it justified a mere warning instead of banning varrags.
    I'd say that removing the warning in 7 is rather unfortunate: rare as it may seem, such a problem is certainly very troublesome to diagnose if we're left with the runtime ClassCastException as the only clue...
    Thanks again, and regards.

  • HOW CLOSE CAN BEHRINGER TRUTH B2031A SPEAKERS BE TO A 2013 IMAC WITH FUSION DRIVE?

    How close can you put studio speakers (specifically Behringer truth b2031a) to a 2013 imac?  I know the speakers are sheilded but is it still safe right next to the computer?  Will the fusion drive inside or a external be affected by the speakers?  Anyone who has knowledge or experience in this topic your information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • How can I get the e-mail address (reply addr.) once connected to a server

    My application ask the user to enter the POP3 server host name (+ port) more the
    POP3 server userId and password .... I can get the e-mails and show the to the user ....
    Now, the user want to send a message from that "account" and what I need
    is to know the "reply address" (the "from address") to set to the outgoing message ...
    I would like to get it somehow (from the API or in anotherway) without asking the
    user to enter it ...
    So, oonce connected to the POP3 mail server (successful login) is it
    possible to get the e-mail address of that guy ??
    please let me know if you have a solution ....
    many thanks / regards / Max

    You are of course trying to get an email address in the format of [email protected] You already have "username" the trick is the somedomain.com. I don't believe that the pop3 server has anyway to tell you this. Unless your host name is "fully qualified", i.e. pop3.somedomain.com, I don't know that you can get this information. Maybe you could take the IP address and do a reverse DNS lookup? Still you wouldn't really know if that is the domain the user really wants. For example I retrieve and send my email from aaa.com, but my domain for my reply-to is bbb.com. Your goal is noble, but perhaps not practical. That is why Outlook Express requires the user to enter their email address when setting up an account. Hope this helps.
