Express does not reconnect after reboot of Extreme

My extreme is conencted (via ethernet) to my router (bridge mode)
My Express is connected to Extreme to expand wireless network (bridge mode)
However when i reboot the extreme, the Express is no longer visible
I have to reboot as well. is this normal?
Also, logically (as per above config) the extreme & express are part of ONE wireless network
So a device conected will "roam" between the 2 as if it's only 1 wifi point (?)
However when i connect a wireless security camera, it shows me express & extreme seperately (eventhough same name & login)
and I have to choose to which one to connect.
IThis means if it's connected to Express & Express stops working, then
it will NOT got directly to the extreme (eventhough it's well in range)
Plsd to hear
Egon

Hi,
Firstly, please make sure your Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service is set to Automatic start.
Seccondly, I found another thread that had similar problem with yours, you can take its sloution as reference.

  • WIFI does not reconnect after a standby

Since I installed "OSX Mavericks" on my MACBOOK AIR, the wireless network does not reconnect after a reboot or standby. I need to disable the wireless and reactive for the connection resumes!
    Thanks for your answer...

    http://carnationsoftware.com/LastA2DPDevice_Mac_Wireless_Problem.html
Trash your Bluetooth preferences, restart your Mac.
Open Bluetooth Preferences (Apple Menu, System Preferences, Bluetooth)
Remove any audio devices that are shown in the upper section of that list.
Pair your Bluetooth Speaker or headset device and then connect and disconnect it.
    Open /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
If the LastA2DPDevice item is present, then you know you have just paired a A2DP device. You need to trash your Bluetooth preferences and restart your Mac again.
The problem is caused by an interaction with Bluetooth and specifically Bluetooth devices that use Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) which is used to stream bluetooth audio from devices such as Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth speakers.
The problem is caused when the Mac goes to sleep and wakes back up. It tries to connect to the A2DP device that was last used by the Mac. If that device is not powered on or is not in bluetooth range, it will keep trying to connect to that device (for an unknown amount of time). While it is looking for that Bluetooth device, the 802.11 wifi is also looking for the last wireless router or access point and fails to find it.
Why the wifi is unable to reconnect after waking from sleep is not exactly clear because wifi is a different protocol than Bluetooth. One hint is that it only seems to fail with wireless routers that run on the 2.4 Ghz band. That is the same frequency that Bluetooth uses (even though Bluetooth hops through different smaller bands within that frequency.)
I do not have the problem when at home and connected to my Airport Supreme Wireless AC router which is running on the 5 Ghz band.
To prove this, here is what I did...
    1. Go to a location where you are having the sleep / wake wireless problem and take your Bluetooth speakers or Bluetooth headphones with you.
    2. Now while at that location, Connect to the wireless network there.
    3. Turn on the power to your Bluetooth device (speakers or headphones).
    4. Turn Bluetooth on and connect to your Bluetooth device.
    5. Put your Mac to sleep for 45 seconds (that is enough time for the Macbook to shut down power to Bluetooth.)
    6. Wake your Mac back up and you will notice that there is no problem reconnecting back to the wireless network.
    7. Now turn OFF the power to your Bluetooth device and put your Mac to sleep for 45 seconds.
You will see that your MacBook will not connect back to your wifi wireless network after it wakes from sleep.
That is because it is looking for your Bluetooth device that it cannot find.
Note that this test is only valid if you are using a Bluetooth device that uses the A2DP protocol. I did my tests with a Bose Soundlink Mini speaker.

  • Airport Extreme in extender mode does not reconnect after main router reset.

I have an Airport Extreme 4th Gen (extender). set to extend the signal from an Airport Extreme 5th Gen (main).  Whenever the main router resets (after reconfig, etc) the extender does not reconnect.  I would have to restart the extender before it will connect again to the network.  However, my Airport Express set to extend will automatically reconnect.  Is this a settings issue?  Please advise.

Ok, well I am hoping you are not doing a re-config of your 5'th gen all the time? This should only be done very rarely... we're talking like less than once a year for many people.  Unless there's something else going on there, I wouldn't worry about it if you have to power-cycle the 4'th gen once in a few blue moons.

  • Airport does not reconnect after standby...

Is anyone having issues w/ wireless not reconnecting after standby? In order to resolve the problem, I have to turn airport off then back on. Most of the time I can get back on using on/off method, but seldomly I have to reboot. This is my config:
SSID is not broadcasted, using capital letters and numbers for SSID Name.
WPA TKIP set for router encryption. WPA Personal selected on Airport.
I don't seem to have this problem on my Macbook running Leopard, so I'm pretty sure it's hardware/driver related to my Macbook Pro. I have to keep tabs on this, but I almost think this problem does not appear when a network SSID is broadcasted and/or unecrypted. It could be my imagination but not sure.
Any ideas or same issues out there?

I always have the same problem; I assume it has something to do with the fact that I regularly switch my cable modem to "standby" when done surfing the internet. Seemingly Airport loses the signal (or whatever) because the modem isn't feeding a signal being in standby mode? When I turn the modem back on, I have to turn Airport back on as well. So far, I've just felt it to be a small inconvenience.

  • External hard-drive does not reconnect after sleep

    Hi everyone
I am trying to use my Energy Saver to SLEEP my iMac after 1 hour. It goes to sleep no problem, but on wake-up, my external USB hard drive does not reconnect. There is also an error message that I didn't disconnect the drive properly. I fear this may be one of Mac OS X's "features". Has anyone encountered the same thing?
On a side note, I also find that my USB keyboard does not always reconnect as well. I use a windows USB mouse that I have connected to wake it from sleep, however my USB keyboard (the small one for Macs), sometimes does not allow me to type unless I unplug it and back in.
Another point of note is that both the HD and the keyboard are connected to the iMac through a 7 port USB hub.

    r_dizzle wrote:

I think this might be the issue. If the iMac is waking back up, it will likely be waking up this HUB, but the HUB might not be re-initialising the connection between OS X and the external drive or the keyboard.
After waking the iMac, if you unplug the external drive from the HUB, then plug it back in again, does OS X pick it up again? Have you tried plugging the external drive directly into the iMac and then testing what the result is?
If you read back on what you've said, you pointed out that you have a USB mouse that you use to wake the iMac from sleep. Is this mouse directly connected to the iMac? If so, it surely can't be a coincidence that a directly connected USB device can wake the iMac from sleep, but any USB devices connected to the iMac via a USB HUB cannot.
I would suggest you test the drive as it is directly connected to the iMac. I would complete the same test with the keyboard too. I think you'll find it's the USB HUB.
    I hope this helps.

  • Broker does not reconnect after db restart

    Hi,
we have a enhanced cluster with two brokers running on solaris 10. the ha store is a oracle 10 db. after a db downtime of 10 minutes the cluster could not reconnect to the ha store. we have in the broker logs the following SQLExceptions. it was impossible to use any imqcmd. we had to terminate the two brokers. after starting them everything was running fine, no more exceptions. why do the brokers not reconnect after a db downtime?

i think this is the cause of the failure. this is expected because the oracle data store is down. The problem is, that after the db was back online. the broker continued to throw the same exception. i expect, that the broker throws away the closed connections and reopens new ones to continue his work.

  • Airport Extreme "N" does not reconnect after MBP wakes from standby/sleep

I have a closed network and do not have any problems with the new AirPort "N" base station except this one. When I open the lid on MBP the computer does not pick up the signal. I have my closed AirPort network in my list of Preferred Networks and yet I have to choose "Other..." from the drop down menu and type in the network name and password before to get it to connect. I do not have this problem on my PowerBook so I have only to assume that I have an incorrect setting on my MBP. Any suggestions? Thank You in advance.
    MacBook Pro 15" 2.4Ghz 160GB HD   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I had this problem on one of my Airport N units. I deleted the base station from the preferred networks and also from the (I think) two locations from the keychain.
I then connected again and had the Airport added to the keychain again and since then I haven't had the problem.

  • PC Suite 6.86.9.3 does not start after reboot

    Hi!
I have some strange problems with the PC Suite. After the first install everything is working well but after a reboot the PC suite is not starting after double click on the desktop icon.
But i can install tools on the phone or start some of the suite tools. Only the PC Suit does not run.
The repair function of the installer does not bring any results. The only way ist to deinstall the suit and all drivers and to clear all remainig nokia registry entries. After that I can install the suite again and it will run again... until I reboot the system. And so on, and so on...
Does any one have an idea how to solve my problem?
    Thanks
    Michael

Actually it does not work on one Windows XP SP3 computer, but it does work on another Windows XP SP3 computer.
Probably this is a .NET application, as I have encountered several .NET applications that do NOT work on some specific computers.

  • SSH does not start after reboot

Hi, I have a problem with my sshd daemon. I have updated my OS, I have changed the .pacnew files and tested service with "systemctl start sshd.service" and it worked good. I have run command "systemctl enable sshd.service" and command executed good. But after reboot service does not start.
I have run "systemctl status sshd.service" and result is that service is loaded, but in Activa line it is inactive (dead).
I dont know what is happening, why is it inactive if it is loaded?
    Thank you for you help.

    These are outputs:
    $ systemctl status sshd.service
    * sshd.service -OpenSSH Daemon
    Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/ssh.service: enabled)
    Active: inactive (dead)
    $ systemctl status sshd.socket
    * sshd.socket
    Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/ssh.socket: enabled)
Active: active (listening) since Fri 2014-05-30 09:57:52 COT; 12min ago
    Listen: [::]:22 (Stream)
    Accepted: 0; Connected: 0
It looks that socket is working, but service isn't. I have reviewed "journalctl -b" and sshd service isn't shown it.

  • Apple wireless mouse does not reconnect after changing batteries

The wireless mouse on my iMac quit working after I changed batteries. There was no response to mouse clicks, or movement, or scrolling. Eventually I connected a USB mouse, did an orderly shutdown of the system, rebooted, and the mouse started working again.
    The long story ...
The first time I encountered this problem was the first time I changed batteries in the Apple Wireless Mouse that came with the iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo I purchased in January 2010. (The OS is 10.6.2 without updates.) I switched the mouse on, the green light on the bottom of the mouse blinked for awhile (at least a minute), but clicking or moving the mouse got no response. The new batteries were Eneloop 1.2v rechargeables. I tried clicking and moving the mouse several times over a period of ten or fifteen minutes, nothing.
I started searching the web for clues about what to do and maybe a half hour or so later I tried the mouse again and it worked.
A few days later I wanted to see if the problem was reproducible. I don’t remember now whether I removed the batteries and reinserted them or just power cycled the mouse, but again the mouse quit working. The green light would blink for awhile, about a minute, then would go off completely. I took this to mean the mouse was searching for the Bluetooth network, not finding it, and giving up. Over the period of half an hour or more I tried switching the mouse off and back on several times. The green light would blink, but nothing more.
I started searching for tips about reconnecting an Apple wireless mouse after changing batteries. I ran across a (2005) discussion on MacRumors forums titled “Wireless mouse troubleshooting problem...” The symptom was a little different, the mouse was partially functional. In this discussion some contributors thought weak batteries could be to blame. So I replaced the rechargeable batteries with new alkaline batteries. Still no go.
I attached a USB mouse and looked at the Bluetooth preferences pane. I was surprised to see the Apple Wireless Mouse was listed there with status paired and connected. Still at this point switching the mouse off and on would produce blinking light on the mouse, but no functionality.
I tried various things in the Bluetooth preferences to see if I could get the mouse connection to restart. When I tried to delete the mouse connection there was an alert saying this was the only mouse connected, was I sure I wanted to disconnect. I said yes, but nothing changed in the Bluetooth preferences pane. I tried unchecking the Bluetooth “On” box, etc. Eventually I only succeeded in losing response to the keyboard as well.
I attached a USB keyboard, shutdown the system, and rebooted. I didn’t know if having the USB keyboard and mouse plugged in would interfere with the wireless devices, but it did not. After the reboot both the wireless keyboard and the mouse were functional again.
Since then I have tried removing the batteries briefly a couple of more times to see if the problem would recur. I actually put the rechargeable batteries back in. Both times the connection was remade as soon as I clicked the mouse. I also now have seen the Apple support article about setting favorite Bluetooth devices http://support.apple.com/kb/TA21371 . I'll try that if this issue comes up again.

Hi, is this a question" Post?
or are you just offering an insight into your Mouse Issue?
Generally and at times we all have little idiosyncrasies appearing with the running of our Macs.
I use the same Logitech BT with my MBP. MB & iBook..(not at the same time) Only ever had one issue
and the cure was to completely Delete the mouse from BT -> Repair Permissions & Reboot then Re Install the BT mouse..Ihave just put a new set of batteries in the Logitech (only 2nd set ever)...L

  • Bootcamp enabled on startup but does not startup after rebooting

    Hi all,
    My bootcamp is going berserk.
It hasn't been able to start-up for a few days and i've been searching for a fix.
I've found out to check whether bootcamp is enabled on startup. After i check on system configuration, it was enabled however after the reboot, it still doesn't startup!
Its frustrating as i can't everytime turning on my computer and going in to program files to on my bootcamp every single time i reboot.
    Please anyone could help me?
I'm running on Bootcamp 4.0 on MacBook Pro 13" Windows 7 partition (Didn't check on what OS i'm using x.x)

For bootcamp within the windows OS, bootcamp is usually shown on the notification area icons
    Like so.
But, now my computer does not have the symbol of the bootcamp panel when i boot up my windows. It thus, causes the function keys on the keyboard and th trackpad to not able to function.
So, for me to make my function keys and trackpad to function properly, i would need to go to control panel to redo the settings everytime i start up.
Without the startup of bootcamp control panel to support the keyboard and trackpad, it would fail to function on my Windows. However, booting in iOS would work perfectly.

  • WIFI does not reconnect after MBP sleeps

When my new MBP Retina wakes up the wifi dies not reconnect.  I have to "Turn WIFI off" and back on again.  My late 2011 works without a problem on the same netowrk.  I have been to an Apple Genius four times.  I have even returned the MBP and got a new one. Same problem....
Any suggestions.  Could it be the Linksys wifi router? SOuld I get an Apple AirPort Extreme????
    THanks

I can not believe it, a new wifi router fixed it (so far)
I've let my Mac slap about 10 times and it reconnected w/o an issue

  • Lion installer does not start after reboot

When I run the lion installer App, it does its thing, copying files for ~3 minutes,
    then reboots the computer.
After the computer reboots, Instead of the expected 'install' phase, I am directly returned to the login screen, exacly as a normal boot, and 'About this mac' confirms I am still running 10.6.8
One of my collegues tried extracting the dmg from the installer app, and turned it into a bootable usb disk
Booting from this produced a grey screen, with the timer animation at the bottom, and a grey barred circle just above center.
After half an hour without any indication of progress or disk activity on this screen, I hard-power-off'd the machine, and powered on, straight back to the normal 10.6.8 login screen.
My mac is an early 2011 13" macbook pro.
Can someone please tell me why lion refuses to install, or how to find out? and how to fix it?
    Thank you
    Nick.

I just spotted the following in the console:

  • Airport Express won't reconnect after Airport Extreme is rebooted

So my problem is this.  The whole system is made up of 2 "old" Airport Expresses, 1 brand new Airport Express and an older Airport Extreme.  I have the two older Airports set up to "join" the network and have one hooked up to my printer and one to my pool computer.  I then setup the new Express to "extend" the network to cover more of the house.  This all works great when I first set it up.  The problem comes when I have to reboot the Extreme.  When I do this, the new express will not reconnect to the network but just flashes amber until I unplug and replug it.  The old ones reconnect and go back to green with no intervention at all.  I tried setting up the new express as both "join" and "extend" and in both cases it will not reconnect to the Extreme unless I power cycle it.  Why am I having this issue with the new one, and the old ones work just fine.  Is there a setting I need to adjust on the new one or on the Extreme or ...
NO security, just a hidden SSID.
    Thanks

Redo the setup of the express.. I am not quite sure I am following the problem but you are better setting a new wireless name rather than use the default. Did you also set security on to WPA2 Personal with a decent password?
If the MBP that has issues was recently updated to 10.8.5 it might need an SMC reset.. also check if your model laptop has a SMC upgrade as there are some wireless issues around.
