Express proxy
I have got an Airport Express, 1ª Gen.
In my little village when I go for Holidays, the city council sell a wifi connection through a proxy.
I wonder if it is possible use the airport express with the following uses at the same time:
Connect the airport express to music amplifier and connect the airport express to the proxy.
Thanks.

Webserver errors on startup with AM sdk and UWC
Installed JES3 (2005Q1) messaging mmp and mesg express proxy, cal server, web server, AM sdk and Comms express (uwc) onto a machine.
for some reason everytime we start the webserver we get "Message:Service does not exist" com.sun.identity.sm.ServiceManager.getVersions(ServiceManager.java:413)
We have been through the docs and configured all the components several times - and we can't spot what we have screwed up (we did SDK+config web container). Any one got any ideas? Support have been looking at it for a couple of days as well and haven't got anywhere :-(
It seems to be uwc causing the crash but it looks to be access manager related hence why I'm asking here.
Thanks,
Darren

HttpClusterServlet Proxy Plugin problem - Weblogic Express 10
Hi,
I am using Weblogic Express 10 version. I am trying to configure HttpClusterServelet in one of my test machine.
I have a Admin server and 3 Managed servers which are part of clusters. I have a test war file which is deployed on to the cluster.
I am able to open the test war file application by hitting Managed servers URL's & Port no's
for eg: http://hostname:portno/testapp
Now I have created a war file with httpclusterserver features and deployed it to Admin server. (created web.xml & weblogic.xml inside WEB-INF directory and built it as war file and deployed it to Admin server)
so practically whenever I hit the Admin server URL my request should be proxied to one of the three Managed server which are part of the cluster
But when I try to open the application through admin server hostname and port no, I get below 403 exception on browser
Error 403--Forbidden
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.4 403 Forbidden
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
Below is the content of my web.xml & weblogic.xml war file

Did you configure the replication correctly in the weblogic.xml?
Also fill in the correct cluster address in the weblogic configuration.

Comms Express and proxy auth (ie for a portal or Identity system)
All, we'll be moving to Comms Express in about a month and we currently have an Identity/access management solution working with Mess Express (6.1) and using the proxy auth url (http://webmail.domain.com/?user=user1&proxy-auth=.....) We can pass the proxy auth from the access manager (SiteMinder) to ME and people can login into their Webmail (ME) without incident.
However UWC is a different animal. Does anyone know how to get a proxy auth url string for UWC to accomplish the same thing? I know UWC essentially does a proxy auth for messaging and calenar already, so we have to find something that does it to pass it to messaging and calendar to get the Comms Exprees interface.
We will be using the following version:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-4.03 (built Sep 22 2005)
libimta.so 6.2-4.03 (built 04:37:42, Sep 22 2005)
And UWC is at 118540-23
Any help would be appreciated.pruebitas wrote:
Before, when we had Messenger Express, we have a web (like a portal) where users used to fill in a form with the user and the passwd to connect to the messenger express.
Now, with the UWC, is not posible to access the same way. I'm a bit lose with this.UWC provides Acess Manager Single-Sign-On (SSO). So if your web-application was to set an access-manager SSO cookie when the user logged in and redirected the user to the UWC login page, they would be automatically logged in (assuming you had configured UWC to allow access manager authentication).
For information on how to set access manager SSO cookies in web-interfaces, please refer to the access manager manuals on docs.sun.com.

Airport Express - How to set proxy settings?
Hello all
I have an AirPort Express in for testing at work.
The internet access at work requires going through a proxy. This proxy gets set on domain clients via gpo.
We have some devices we dont want to put on the domain (wont get the gpo) but we need them to have internet access.
We could set the proxy on these devices manauly but theres a lot of them.
I have been trying to find where in the Airports settings you can set proxy settings but cant find anything.
Can you set proxy settings manualy in the device and if so, where abouts?
I'm using windows for accessing the Airports settings.
Thanks for any help someone can offer.unfortunately i have to use 1.4 which makes this a bit more tricky.
my other idea was to use system.setProperties to set the 2 proxy fields and then afterwards set them back to what they were -- however in the case they were null I get an NPE when I try and set them back, so I'd need a workaround for that as well. -
Problem with airport express connected to a lan with proxy
*in my university exist a lan network with proxy config and port.*
*i searched in the config mode but nothing guide me.*
*If someone know how connect it please answer this topic*
JfI think I have it on the right setting - what do I select in the settings?!
To activate ProxySTA, you must set up the Express to join a wireless network and then enable the Allow Ethernet Clients setting; both settings are located in the Wireless tab of AirPort Utility.
It said it was going to take an hour to transfer a 250meg file, so thats definitely still going over wifi.
It still going over wireless is correct. Remember your Mac Pros are connecting to the network over a wireless connection. So, for example, when you send a file from one Mac Pro to the QNAP, that file must first travel to the AEBSn (by wireless), then to the AXn (by wireless), before it makes it to the QNAP by wire.
The other option, which theoretically, should improve the data transfer rate, would be to configure both base stations into an extended network. In this type of network, the AXn would be an extension of the AEBSn's wireless network and its Ethernet port would still be enabled for the Ethernet switch. -
How do I use Sun Web Server 7.0u1 reverse proxy to change public URLs?
Some of our installations use the Sun Web Server 7.0 (update 1, usually)
for hosting some of the public resource and reverse-proxying other parts
of the URI namespace from other backend servers (content, application
and other types of servers).
So far every type of backend server served a unique part of the namespace
and there was no collision of names, and the backend resources were
published in a one-to-one manner. That is, a backend resource like, say,
http://appserver:8080/content/page.html would be published in the internet
as http://www.publicsite.com/content/page.html
I was recently asked to research whether we can rename some parts of
the public URI namespace, to publish some or all resources as, say,
http://www.publicsite.com/data/page.html while using the same backend
resources.
Another quest, possibly related in solution, was to make a tidy url for the
first page the user opens of the site. That is, in the current solution when
a visitor types the url "www.publicsite.com" in his or her browser, our web
server returns an HTTP-302 redirect to the actual first page URL, so the
browser sends a second request (and changes the URL in its location bar).
One customer said that it is not "tidy". They don't want the URL to change
right upon first rendering the page. They want the root page to be rendered
instantly i the first HTTP request.
So far I found that I can't solve these problems. I believe these problems
share a solution because it relies on ability to control the actual URI strings
requested by Sun Web Server from backend servers.
Some details follow, now:
It seems that the reverse proxy (Service fn="service-passthrough") takes
only the $uri value which was originally requested by the browser. I didn't
yet manage to override this value while processing a request, not even if
I "restart" a request. Turning the error log up to "finest" I see that even
when making the "service-passthrough" operation, the Sun Web Server
still remembers that the request was for "/test" (in my test case below);
it does indeed ask the backend server for an URI "/test" and that fails.

I have also tried "restart"ing the request like this:
NameTrans fn="restart" uri="/data"or desperately trying to set the new request uri like this:
Service fn="set-variable" uri="/magnoliaPublic/Main.html"Thanks for any ideas (including a statement whether this can be done at all
in some version of Sun Web Server 7.0 or its opensourced siblings) ;)
//JimSome of our installations use the Sun Web Server 7.0 (update 1, usually)please plan on installing the latest service pack - 7.0 Update 4. these updates addresses potentially critical bug fixes.
I was recently asked to research whether we can rename some parts of
the public URI namespace, to publish some or all resources as, say,
http://www.publicsite.com/data/page.html while using the same backend
resources.> now, if all the resources are under say /data, then how will you know which pages need to be sent to which back end resources. i guess, you probably meant to check for /data/page.html should go to <back-end>/content/page.html
yes, you could do something like
- edit your corresponding obj.conf (<hostname>-obj.conf or obj.conf depending on your configuration)
<Object name=¨default¨>
<If $uri = ¨/page/¨>
#move this nametrans SAF (for map directive - which is for reverse proxy within <if> clause)
NameTrans.. fn=map
</If
</Object>
and you could do https-<hostname>/bin/reconfig (dynamic reconfiguration) to check out if this is what you wanted. also, you might want to move config/server.xml <log-level> to finest and do your configuration . this way, you would get enough information on what is going on within your server logs.
finally,when you are satisfied, you might have to run the following command to make your manual change into admin config repository.
<install-root>/bin/wadm pull-config user=admin config=<hostname> <hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
you might want to check out this for more info on how you could use <if> else condition to handle your requirement.
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gdaer?a=view
finally, you might want to refer to this doc - which explains on ws7 request processing overview. this should provide you with some pointers as to what these different directives mean
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gbysz?a=view
>
One customer said that it is not "tidy". They don't want the URL to change
right upon first rendering the page. They want the root page to be rendered
instantly i the first HTTP request.
please check out the rewrite / restart SAF. this should help you.
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gdada?a=view
pl. understand that - like with more web servers - ordering of directives is very important within obj.conf. so, you might want to make sure that you verify the obj.conf directive ordering is what you want it to do..
It seems that the reverse proxy (Service fn="service-passthrough") takes
only the $uri value which was originally requested by the browser. I didn't
yet manage to override this value while processing a request, not even if
I "restart" a request. Turning the error log up to "finest" I see that even
when making the "service-passthrough" operation, the Sun Web Server
still remembers that the request was for "/test" (in my test case below);
it does indeed ask the backend server for an URI "/test" and that fails.
now, you are in the totally wrong direction. web server 7 includes a highly integrated reverse proxy solution compared to 6.1. unlike 6.1, you don´t have to download a separate plugin . however, you will need to manually migrate your 6.1 based reverse proxy settings into 7.0. please check out this blog link on how to set up a reverse proxy
http://blogs.sun.com/amit/entry/setting_up_a_reverse_proxy
feel free to post to us if you need any futher help
you are probably better off - starting fresh
- install ws7u4
- use gui or CLI to create a reverse proxy and map one on one - say content
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6601/create-reverse-proxy-1?a=view
if you don´t plan on using ws7 integrated web container (ability to process jsp/servlet), then you could disable java support as well. this should reduce your server memory footprint
<install-root>/bin/wadm disable-java user=admin config=<hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm create-reverse-proxy user=admin uri-prefix=/content server=<http://your back end server/ config=<hostname> --vs=<hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
now, you can check out the regular express processing and <if> syntax from our docs and try it out within <https-<hostname>/config/<hostname>-obj.conf> file and restart the server. pl. note that once you disable java, ws7 admin server creates <vs>-obj.conf and you need to edit this file and not default obj.conf for your changes to be read by server.
>
I have also tried "restart"ing the request like this:
NameTrans fn="restart" uri="/data"
ordering is very important here... you need to do this some thing like
<Object name=default>
<If not $restarted>
NameTrans fn=restart uri from=/¨ uri=/foo.
</If> -
Help with regular expression to not run shtml-hacktype on particular reqs
Hi,
Okay, back to 7.0 u2 not ignoring things it should. Our regular site has a lot of SHTML includes. Then we have the glassfish loadbalancer plugin configured for a back-end web application. The problem is, the application URLs end in .html and the web server is looking locally for those requests. If I disable:
ObjectType fn="shtml-hacktype"In the instance obj.conf, then the requests process normally in the proxy.
I can't do that, though, because of the includes - then our main site doesn't function properly.
Is there a way I can surround that line with something like "if request is not /gog/*" then execute? Similar to what I had to do for the j2ee problem looking locally instead of on the back end Weblogic servers.
<If $uri =~ '^/wp-(.*)'>
NameTrans fn="ntrans-j2ee" name="j2ee"
</If>Only I want the opposite - if $uri is not equal to '^/gog/(.*)' then execute the shtml hacktype. I just don't know exactly what the expression would be.
Thanks!Nevermind - I got it. RTFM :-)
<If $uri !~ '^/gog/(.*)'>
ObjectType fn="shtml-hacktype"
</If> -
Sun Web server 6.1 SP9 Reverse proxy - Changing Web Server Context
I am trying to configure a Reverse Proxy such that it can change the context of the requested URL.
My SOWS reverse proxy plug-in is running on server server1.sample.com and the destination server is running on server2.sample.com. The use case, the incoming URL is [|http://server1.sample.com/dummy1/]...... and I need to map this to {color:#0000ff}http://server2.sample.com/*dummy2*/.....;{color} It looks like the reverse proxy only maps to a server level but disregards the context. The reason I say that, in the server 2 logs I see - .... trying to GET /dummy1....; I needed the call to look for dummy2 context. Can this be done?well, web server uri processing does not understand web application level context (in terms of java web applications). however, if you would like to map all uri's ending with /dummy1 to go to /dummy2, then you can easily do this with web server 7 regular express processing
http://blogs.sun.com/elving/entry/mass_virtual_hosting_in_7
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gdaer?a=view
besides web server 7 includes a very tightly integrated reverse proxy unlike 6.1 where you need reverse proxy as a separate plugin. so, you might want to check out if ws7 can serve your needs

Hi,
we are migrating from Forms 6i to 11.1.2. Our database version is very old (Enterprise Edition, version 10.1.0.5) because this is the latest version of the DB that Forms 6i runs, and we will migrating to 11g in phases. So 6i and 11g will co-exists for a while (accesing the same DB).
I am trying to use proxy users feature to login to database.
So I did this:
- I created a user PROXY_USR to be the proxy user:
SQL> create user PROXY_USR identified by PROXY_PASW;*
- I grant create session for the user:
SQL> grant create session to PROXY_USR;*
- I changed the application users (eg APPUSER01), to connect via proxy user:
SQL> alter user APPUSER01 grant connect through PROXY_USR;*
The comand in Forms module to login is:
+LOGON('PROXY_USR[APPUSER01]','PROXY_PASW@DB01');+*
The logon built is being performed and the connection being made, without erros.
But when I verify in what user the application is logged on, the result is not
what was expected:
I did the follwing PL/SQL inside Form module:
begin*
select user into v_user_DB from dual;*
MESSAGE('User Connected: '||v_user_DB,ACKNOWLEDGE);*
exception*
when others then*
MESSAGE('ERR: '||SQLERRM,ACKNOWLEDGE);*
end;*
The result from this select, is PROXY_USR and not APPUSER01 (that would be the correct):
*>>Result: "User Connected: PROXY_USR"*
Some more commands that were also performed inside Forms module:
begin+
select sys_context('userenv','current_user') v_current_usr from dual+
MESSAGE('Current User: '||v_current_usr,ACKNOWLEDGE);+
exception+
when others then+
MESSAGE('ERR: '||SQLERRM,ACKNOWLEDGE);+
*>>Result: "User Connected: PROXY_USR"*
begin+
select sys_context('userenv','proxy_user') v_proxy_user from dual;+
MESSAGE('Current User: '||v_proxy_user,ACKNOWLEDGE);+
exception+
when others then+
MESSAGE('ERR: '||SQLERRM,ACKNOWLEDGE);+
*>>Result: "Proxy User: "*
OBS: when a connect via SQL*Plus, in a 11g database (Express), and run the commands above, the results are OK. The
APPUSER01 is returned.
Any ideas ?? I will open a SR in Metalink, but I think they will first request a database upgrade,
which is not feasible for us at the moment ...
Thanks in Advance.
FrancoUnfortunately besides trying on a certified combination (maybe use the Developer Database VM and import the required schemas for trial) and going through the documentation at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e24477/sso.htm I can't offer more. I don't have a 10gR1 database anymore and also I don't have OID to play with.

SQL Expressions in RAD -Getting error during runtime while generating rpt
Hi
We have just migrated from WSAD to RAD Version: 7.0.0.7.
The issue is: I am getting the error at the runtime when I am trying to use the SQL expression in my one of the report. The SQL Expression feature is not supported by this version of RAD. I checked the Help contents. It says
Field Objects: SQL expression fields
This report contains SQL Expression fields. These fields are not visible in this version of the Crystal Reports designer, but they will be evaluated by the system when the report is executed. New SQL Expression fields cannot be created by the designer. SQL Expression fields will remain in the .rpt file after saving and can be edited by other Crystal Reports designers
To me it seems you can use the 'SQL Expressions' in the report using some Crystal Reports designers and at the runtime it will be evaluated. So I edited my report with some Crystal Reports Designer and tested it on WSAD. It worked fine. Now since we have migrated to RAD, this is an issue since I am getting the following error:
ERROR [WebContainer : 0] com.crystaldecisions.reports.formatter.formatter.objectformatter - com.crystaldecisions.reports.dataengine.be: Failed to parse expression.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Customers have been reporting "Page cannot be displayed" in IE and sending screenshots of partially loaded pages. I'm assuming we have a timeout issue.
We have a proxy (HttpClusterServlet) handling the SSL, and load balancing on a few managed servers over non-SSL protocol on the same machine.
Server2008 64bit [ Client ---> HTTPS ---> Proxy ---> HTTP ---> Managed Servers ]
Where would a timeout issue likely been occuring?
In admin console, under the Proxy server -> Tuning, I'm noticing the HTTP timeout is 5sec and SSL timeout is 25sec (Defaults). Would increasing the SSL timeout on the proxy and the HTTP timeouts on the managed server help this situation?
Side note: In the managed servers' output logs I am also notice "View cannot be restored" errors, which I'm assuming is a user trying to request an expired session, probably due to reloading a page that has already expired. This may be a seperate issue, as I have set all no-cache, revalidates headers in my filter.
Any feedback appreciated.The document tells me I should install OWA. I assume it's Oracle Web Agent, since the document doesn't ever tell me what OWA is, and not the more common Outlook Web App (nor anything else on the wikipedia page for OWA). I do not see anything on the download page about a Web Agent. I downloaded Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Web Tier Utilities, which the asktom site suggested, but it's over a gigabyte of stuff (compressed), won't let me chose components, and requires the WebLogic Server, which I'm not paying for.
I looked at the linked mod_plsql, and it's from Total Knowledge Software, not Oracle. Also, the official website for that release says the next version will support Apache 2, which is hardly current. Since the current version is 4.5 years old, I assume the project is dead and there will be no next version. Even if development is alive, I need something now. There is another open-source version of mod_plsql, but they specifically state that it does not have full support for application express. -
Overlapped I/O error 997 installing SQL Server 2014 Express on Windows Server 2012 R2
I'm attempting to install SQL Server 2014 Express on a Windows Server 2012 R2 system. When I do the install, it fails (several times) with an "Error: 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.". From searching the web, I can see many people
have had this problem with this installer and other non-SQL server installers.
I've tried every solution I can find discussed, but none help with my problems The system is fully updated, with the exception of the KB2538243 (VC 2008 SP1 redist), which is probably failing for the same reason.
I've tried removing several updates mentioned in other articles (KB2918614). I've confirmed that I'm not using a temporary profile.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can solve this issue?
Thanks,
Zack

HI all
I´m developing a BPM, this has the following steps:
1º
Reciver Step: this is to read a file , comunication channel type file.
2º transformation Step: maps the MT of the file to a new MT
3º Send step: send syncronously the result of the the map.Using an ABAP proxy. XI adapter.
4ºSwitch step: compares de the value of the result of the syncronous call, with a constant.First branch Send Step to write a file
Second branch nothing.
My question is? Do i have to insert something before the switch. Because i cannot activate the BPM, In the SXI_CACHE i can see and error that says that the value that i´m using to compare the value it is not an object of the payload.
Any idea?
Many thanks
NoeliaHi,
Last try...
salida_proxy./p1:MT_salidaproxy/row/valor = 0
In the condition editor:
When you do a f4 for the left operanfd text box:
The expression editor opens:
You need to click on the "Interface Variable" radio button and select your container salida_proxy and prove the correct xpath.
Make sure that the Type specified next to the xpath in the expression editor is String.
A f4 in the right operand text box opens a expression ediote, where:
You need to click on the constant radio button, and provide the constant 0.
Again make sure that the xsd trype is String.
In case all this has been done perfectly, then try deleting the switch and recreating it again. You never know, this might do the trick!
Regards,
Smitha.
