Express with iTunes info needed

I would like to play iTunes' music to my stereo.
I was thinking of connecting the Mac G4 tower headphone output to the stereo but having a plug in the headphone jack cuts all sounds from the Mac. Would the only solution be getting Airport Express and an Airport card for the G4?
I already have an Airport Extreme. Would the Express help in extending the wireless range for the PowerBook? I assume I would be able to also play tunes from the PowerBook with the Express.

If you don't already have desktop speakers, now would be the time to purchase some.
Go to Radio Shack, and get a Headphone Switch ( http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049682&cp=&kw=headphone+s witch&parentPage=search ). You will plug your Mac in to the wire coming off of the switch, your desktop speakers into the Headphone out on the front, and your stereo to the jack on the back of the switch. You will also need a 1/8" to dual RCA for connection to your stereo.

Copy the entire iTunes folder out to the drive. If it is too big to go as one copy stuff over to another computer in batches. It is important to have not only the media but the library file in order to properly restore your library.
See also this User Tip. Assuming the machine won't connect to the internet you could download the SyncToy installer on another machine and then transfer it with the thumb drive. If it will connect to the net don't forget to deauthorize the machine before reformatting the hard drive.

Hope Apple reviews these. Now, the Info about iTunes items needs some new fields to reflect books. Specifically, it could use Editor, Author(s), Publisher, Edition, Copyright Date, and ISBN.

I'm having trouble with internet radio thru Airport Express with itunes 7.

The new itunes 7 is working okay for me except for one thing. For some reason I have a buffering problem between my computer and my Airport Express when I feed internet radio to it. Playing it through my computer speakers works just fine. Normal itunes music files seem to be okay either way. This started happening when I installed itunes 7. I have reset the base station and it hasn't improved things. Is it just coincidence? Anyone got any clues?

Same problem here. Some streams are playing correctly and others play in a strange manner, like a mix.
I also got this problem with iTunes 7. I hope that Apple will fix it in a future update so that I can listen to every station over my Airport Express.

What I would do if handing back those devices is:
1. go into your iCloud account settings and disable find my iPhone.
2. go into settings->general->reset->Erase all content and settings
That will remove activation lock (1) so the next person who gets the device can activate it, and two, will delete all of your personal information, documents and data (basically renders the device back to the original pre-activation state it was in out of the box).

Airport express with itunes and ethernet

I have a question on the airport express and apologize if this is already answered elsewhere, I searched the forum and did not find an answer.
I am using my time capsule as the basis of my wifi network at the house supplying service to my iMac, Macbook, and other wireless devices with no problems. I have three airport express devices. The first is used to supply a USB drop to the printer. A second to provide an ehternet drop for the DirectTV. I recently purchased one of the new model airport express devices to run an airtunes cable to my stereo.
The airport express (old style) providing the ethernet drop to the DirectTV previously had been used to provide iTunes to the stereo, but I could not get it to do both ethernet bridge to DirectTV and the iTunes to the stereo. That is why I purchased the new one (one to do each job). Is it possible to have one of these devices provide both the ethernet drop for the TV box and the iTunes? I would rather only have one device tied up behind the entertainment center (less clutter and free up the third device for other uses).

I am having i use Norton internet security, and I can't pull up Itunes 6 it pulls up the hourglass for a second then the hourglass disapears but no itunes what do I need to do my Quick time player works fine. And Can I back up my Itunes music by saving it under another file and moving it back should I erase and then reinstall Itunes 6?

I'm fed up with iTunes, I need a media player that won't erase my music!

iTunes has erased all my music twice now (I never clicked a button, I did nothing at all out of the ordinary, no messages popped up, nothing. When I e-mailed the problem, they sent me some bullcrap e-mail back stating that all the music that I bought from them will be returned. No reason, no explanation, just an automatic message trying to goad me into buying overpriced crap music from iTunes) I'm sick of it, I'm fed up. When I plugged in my iPod my computer froze so I had to restart it, I plugged it in again and turned off automatic updates. Turns out that iTunes doesn't know what that means so it updates my iPod anyways, go figure. So all my songs on my iPod are gone as well. It's really starting to make a CD player look good now.
So my question is, before I decide to start cussing out some of the people at iTunes, is there another media player that I can download (for free, preferably) that will update my iPod?

okay, where or how else can you get music files on and off your ipod? cause there has got to be a better way to do this? i already subcribe to pay sites for my downloads and i am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to import files into folders or playlists on itunes to get them on my kids nanos and my shuffle. i don't want to have to buy songs from the itunes store at 99 cents apiece when i have a yearly subscribtion already with another service, not to mention a large library of files already on my hard drive. you should not be limited to using strictly apple downloads. i mean for what we are paying for the players themselves compared to other mp3 players they should be compatible with some other software for transferring songs. am i off base here??

Airport Extreme and Multiple Expresses with iTunes

I have an airport extreme base station running a bgn network and six airport expresses connected (three wired and three wireless) to stereo systems throughout the house. They seem to stumble all over themselves with an IP address distribution or something that makes them cut in and out after playing for about 20 minutes. I've tried assigning IP addresses but it doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing that one of the wireless expresses loses signal for a second and that causes all the issues. Any thoughts?

So the airport extreme is setup and the wireless is going. But when I hook up the airport express, I've plugged it in and when I use airport utility through the desktop which is hardwired connected to the airport extreme, the express does not show up the devices list.
Can somebody explain to me how the airport express is used to boost the signal of the airport extreme using airport utility within windows vista? thanks!

Airport Express with Itunes can not get the music to play on the speakers

I have upgrade everything Firmware on the Airport , OS 10.5.5. The wireless internet connection works
perfect. Then I select the external stereo speaker or multiple speaker in itunes at the bottom right it connect no error see everything. But once i Play the music it does don't play to the stereo speakers It play on the Powerbook no problem. It did work before i upgrade Itunes

Horrible playback issues with iTunes 8 and Airport Express over Wifi

Hello folks,
I just upgraded to iTunes 8, and since then, I've been unable to get good playback from my Airport Express with iTunes on my Macbook Pro.
I get between 5-30 seconds of continuous playback, then a hiccup, ad nauseum, ad inifintum. A five minute track usually ends up taking six-seven minutes to complete, and it's like listening to a CD skip.
Both the Macbook Pro and the Airport Express are communicating over 802.11n, and worked well before the upgrade to iTunes 8. On my older, slower, crappier Powerbook which only has 802.11g but runs iTunes 7 (in the same room, about two feet from the other laptop), playback is rock solid.
I've noticed when I monitor the WLAN interface on my MBP with 'netstat -in', I'm seeing a lot of Ierrs, but there's nothing in any of the system logs to indicate a hardware problem (yet, anyway).
Has anyone else had this issue since upgrading? Should I be looking to get my WLAN NIC fixed, or is it an issue with iTunes 8? Are there diagnostic applications I can use to perform hardware confidence tests on the WLAN NIC?

My AirPort Express optical out has this problem as well, stutter and very bad sound. But only the new 802.11n modell. A older 802.11g model works without a problem.
It worked well until I upgraded to iTunes 8, I bought in in May.
I just had my AirPort Express 802.11n replaced under warranty by Apple but the new unit has the same problem.
Everyone who is using the optical out and have the stutter problem needs to write to Apple about it so they realize it's a problem and fix it.
