EXS24 off by half-step

I've been having a wierd problem repeatedly: I will create a region using the EXS24 and it works fine. I save the song and quit logic. When I next return to the song, it opens fine (no error messages). Tracks with other audio instruments work fine, but the EXS24 tracks have all been transposed one half-step. I double click the region (and get the editor with the vertical piano on the left) and the notes are in the correct place - but the note one half step down is played when the song is playing. I've checked all the tuning/transposition settings and they're all normal. This seems to happen with instruments I've created which I'm storing on an external drive.
Any thoughts or this just a crazy bug?

FWIW, there have been many threads posted here regarding similar problems, i.e., tracks (or even whole sections of songs) mysteriously and suddenly becoming transposed. So you're not going crazy. I'd suggest doing a search for "transposed" (or similar) and see if anyone's been able to solve this problem.

IPhone turns off with half of battery

My phone has been acting weird for some time. When the phone's battery reaches half it will turn off and if I turn it on again it wont stay on. But what I noticed is that if I turn on airplane mode this random turning off wont happen. In airplane mode I even turn on wi-fi and I dont get any problems. It's just when the "phone" (or network or whatever) is turned on that it turns off with half of the battery. I already restored it and it didn't help.

HP2540 Inkjet - Cutting Off Bottom Half Of Text

Just purchased a new HP2540 Inkjet and finished the set up. Whatever I print, including the diagnostic report, the bottom half of the text on every few lines has been cut off. Gone through all the diagnostic checks, but still cuts off the bottom half over third sentence. Ridiculous. Any suggestions out there?

Since we cannot attach in here I have uploaded the examples. The first is an XPS printout from a word 2013 document. When it's printed it comes out as shown in the scan.pdf file. (We printed it and then scanned the printout to a PDF). It is pretty clear that the bottom of the picture is cut off. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Brian

HP Deskjet 5740 Color Inkjet Printer cutting off bottom half of letters when printing text

My Printer is cutting off the bottom half of letters when printing documents. I have tried all the troubleshooting options given on the computer and have changed out the ink cartriges as well. I am hoping SOMEONE might have a solution to share. Thanks in advance!!!

My iphone 3G is draining off battery very fast.Wi Fi and other appliations are swithed off.Phone getting really warm just like that.Battery drains off in half day or less even in stand by mode.

My iphone 3GS battery is draining off in 4 to 5 hours even in stand by condition.
Tried with all the applications and Wi Fi off.
Phone is getting warm just like that!!
It was working fine in the last week!!

There is no reason that a brand new phone should be having problems. I would say return it for a new one because it's less then a week old or return it. It's unacceptable. I have been having software issues with my iPhone 3GS too. I feel that Apple did a half done job on the software and really failed to bring new features to their third gen. iPhone.

Location is WAY off, by half the world.

the iphone location settings (time, maps) and all apps using them (yelp, google latitude, etc.) are all showing my location as being on the other side of the world. In Istanbul, Turkey when I am actually located on the east coast of the USA.
I have reset network settings, reset the phone settings and turned it off and back on numerous times. Occasionally, when I turn it off and back on, it will find me in the correct location then about 5 seconds later, goes to Istanbul.
What's going on?

There's also a TZ setting in your time capsule. Use airport utility located in the utilities folder and select manual setup for your time capsule. The second tab "time-capsule" will bring you to Set Timezone.
This is probably still set to OH.

WGBH HD schedule off by half hour

I noticed that on the HD channel of WGBH (channel 502), on every Thursday, the listings are one half-hour early. And this is only on the HD channel, the SD channel is normal. Is anyone else from Boston noticing this?

Keyboard Volume Keys: half-steps? Quarter Steps?

Is it possible to change the amount of increase / decrease the keyboard volume keys cause? Right now, tapping F11 or F12 just once turns the volume up or down a LOT more than I want it to. Subtle changes are impossible.
Is there any way for me to change this so that pressing F11 and/or F12 only changes the volume a little?

ah, i forgot about this. you are trying to make a shortcut involving and F-key, right? I know that for many people (myself included) it's impossible to make a service shortcut using an F-key. I get the same exact result as you when I try. but this only concerns services. however, other posters claimed that it works ok for them. so it's something of a mystery but looks like a strange bug of some sort in SL. I managed to add a service shortcut with an F-key but it was much too tricky and involved first adding such a shortcut for something else and then copying the relevant entries in the plists containing those shortcuts.

I'd guess someone else DOES have your icloud ID and is giving you grief. You may not have given it out, but they may have seen the ID somewhere. I would change the password of your icloud account.

Wifi keeps going off every half hour on ipad 3. I have two with the exact same settings but one keeps doing this .help .

If that iPad has trouble on other networks then it may have a hardware problem.
If it is OK on other networks then look at your network more closely it may have a firmware or a configuration problem.

Itunes cut off music half way through

I got a new Macbook Pro so copied over my music successfully. I then synced my ipod. A lot of the songs are now either missing or stop after around 2 minutes for no reason. This has now synced the same onto my ipod.
I am really unhappy as I am a radio presenter and a lot of music now has to be played fully before burning.
Point 2 when trying to burn CD's burners not supported coming up

If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (check this with iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519). When I turn my iPod. 16GB Apple iTouch Black 4th Generation - ME178BT/A off half way through a track, why doesn't it resume when I turn it back on from where I left it????

I have just recently been bought an ipod touch 4th gen 16gb as a gift, I have uploaded all my music on to it and have been using it but every time I turn it off when half way through a track when I turn it back on to carry on listening to the track where i'd left it it doesn't resume play!!!
Can somebody please tell me why this is the case? as this is very annoying!!!!!

On Ipod Touch, I forgot my 2 step verification question answers. How do I reset them, turn them off or somethign?

I forgot the answer to my verification questions. According to the FAQ section you can turn off the 2 step verification. When following that process I do not see the option to turn on or off that feature. Can you reset the questions, or answers without knowing what the previous answers were?

MainStage 3 Wham pedal off key?

Hi - so I just upgraded to MainStage 3, and I'm very excited to see "Wham" as a pedal option. It seems to be based on the DigiTech Whammy pedal, which is the ONLY physical pedal I use with MS. However, I'm thinking it might be one half-step off. I use it by setting the range all the way up to 12 or 24 (which should be one and two octaves up on a guitar). Note that once you get to 12, the next setting is 24 (no 13-23). This SHOULD be fine for me because I only use the pedal to go up in full octaves. However, it seems to be one half-step off.
For example, if the pedal is disengaged and I play an open string - then play the same string on the 12th fret, this is one full octave. Now when I engage the pedal and play the same open string with the Wham range set on 12 it SHOULD be the same note (just an octave higher). However, it is one-half step flat. So it is the same as playing the guitar string on the 11th fret. Therefore, since there is no range setting for 13 - all of my guitar work sounds flat and nasty when switching the Wham on and off (the same for the 24 range setting).
Perhaps this Wham pedal isn't meant for full octaves and just smaller stretches of notes, but since there IS a setting for 12 & 24, I would think that this is a bug. Has anyone noticed this or a way to fix it? I really hope there is because if I can get it to work right, I can ditch my last physical pedal and use MainStage as my full rig (I don't even use an amp anymore thanks to this amazing software)! Perhaps I can mess with the tuning (like changing it from 440 to something else), but that would be a rather round-about way to fix it, and my tuner would then be off (which is not an option for me). Suggestions?

I fixed it!! This must have been a pretty noob mistake, but I realized that I can customize the position of my MIDI foot controller in a way that the max setting of the expression pedal is exactly one octave from the bottom position.
When in the EDIT mode of MainStage, just click any expression pedal that is mapped to your MIDI controller, and go to "pedal position." You can then access the "scale parameter" button, which allows you to set the min and max range of the pedal to its corresponding action in MainStage. I feel kinda dumb that I didn't notice this before, but if you find yourself having trouble with expression pedals - this might really help you out.
AWESOME - now I can ditch my last physical pedal and now use MainStage as my entire rig!

Question for EXS24 instrument editor experts!

here's what I'm trying to do:
I'm trying to combine a solo violin instrument and a solo cello instrument into one EXS24 instrument that has the violin in the higher octaves and the cello in the lower octaves, not overlapping (to use with my EWI).
These are VSL (Vienna Symphonic) instruments, a different sample every half step, 3 velocity layers (different group for each velocity layer). So each instrument has around 150 audio samples.
Here's what i tried so far:
I opened the violin instrument, I added a new group and named it "solo cello pp". I drag dropped all the cello pp samples into the new group. I chose "auto map" in the dialog box.
OK, when I look in the new group it got all the zone key notes right (zone key note matches the audio sample name)
But... every zone has a key range of "Lo C-2, hi G8" so when I play the patch I'm hearing all the samples playing at once (because every zone has the full key range)
OK ... I can just go type in the correct key range for each zone (like for the A#3 sample: "Lo A#3, hi A#3" etc.) but with 150 samples per inst., that's typing in a field 300 times! Kind of insane! and I plan to build several instruments like this (trombone/trumpet, bassoon/oboe etc.)
Is there a smarter way to do this?
I suppose I could probably just keep the violin & cello instruments separate, constrict their ranges so they don't overlap, have them on separate tracks, record enable both tracks, and play it that way. But it would just be more idiot proof to have it all in one EXS24 instrument.
Any help would be appreciated.

EXS is not the easiest to work with.........
but , do this:
bring two EXS's up on two different channels.
load the vlns in one, the cello in the other.
open the cello edit pane. switch to "group" and select all groups.
open the edit menu and click on "copy".
next, open the vln editor, then click on edit and select "paste".
this should copy the cello in the vln pane.
if they overlap, you'll have to move them an octave and probably limit the range.
save as....... a new patch.
