Extend Script Toolkit 3.5.1 Update

I have been showing an update for both Adobe Bridge and Photoshop CS5 in my Adobe Application Update Manager - the Extend Script Toolkit 3.5.1 Update. It`s been sitting there for the last 1.5 months now. And everytime I download it, it says 100%, no problems - and when it then skips over to the installing, after it shows 50% installed (after about 3 seconds), a few seconds later i get the same installation failed message. I have closed all programs and tried it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs but something with THIS particular update just doesn`t sync well with my computer. I am using a 2010 Mac Pro, 3.33mhz, 6 core, 12gb ram and a 240gb OWC SSD.
When I called Adobe about this issue, they had me log out of my admin account and create a ghost account with admin priveledges, and try installing thru that, but it didn`t work and proved to cause even more havoc amoungst my computer. Even update before this has been flawless. But since the first time, and all succesive times since then of trying to get this damn download over and done with, it has been impossible.
Anyone else have a 100% solution to this - besides the obvious skipping of THIS update.

Update! I've force quit the Adobe Updater. The little Adobe Update icon in my top toolbar is gone. The Adobe applications seem to be opening OK, so I'm crossing my fingers the next time Adobe Updater asks for updates. Anyway, thanks for viewing!

Extend Scripte Toolkit 3.5.1 Update Failure

Adobe application manager said Bridge and PS CS5 needed this update. I have tried several times to run the update, but it fails and there is never a reason given. Not sure what the problem is and even if this update is important.

ExtendScript Toolkit is the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that is installed with photoshop, and is used for creating/modifing scripts, so unless you are doing scripting it is something you will not use.

Adobe Updater Stuck on Extend Script Toolkit

Hello! My Adobe Application Manager was updating my CS5 suite when it stopped at 71.4% at the Extend Script Toolkit 3.5.1 Update. I tried to quit the Manager, but nothing happened. Any ideas, or should I force quit the Manger and try the Update again? Would all the new download be lost? This download section is actually the second. Earlier, the Manager went all the way to 100% on something, then it went back to 0% and started on a new thing. Sorry about the un-specificness, but I let my Mac run the updates as I made breakfast. The second download was suppose to be a lot faster, according to the time-remaining estimates. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Save a *.TXT with the Extended Script Toolkit and Photoshop

Hi guys I need your help to figure this out:
I like to save the names of all the layers from my Photoshop document into a *.txt file.
Is this even possible with JavaScript by using the Photoshop and Extended Script Toolkit? There are some suggestions on the internet to use the ActiveXObject, but this only seems to work in combination with HTML and AJAX.

Connect Extends Script Toolkit with InDesign Server

Hi folks,
I'm trying to connect my Extends Script Toolkit installed with the InDesign Server CS4 on a XServe Mac with a running InDesign Server thread. This won't work, see screenshots. Any hints on this topic? Are their any log files written by the Extends Script to solve the problem?

Hi Sheldon,
With CS4, InDesign Server no longer supports opening PageMaker files. This info is included in the Release Notes. InDesign CS4 will still open them so you could pursue a solution there.

Wondering if it is possible to crete a script file in a code snippet manager and export it into the
ExtendedScript Toolkit.

I have just suscribed a creative cloud plan. In order to avoid the non-ending downloading with adobe application manager, I used my previous creative suite master collection trial version (CS6).
Everything works well, I was recognized and the desktop applications works and recognize my AdobeID as valid.
BUT
When I did the last update (with adobe updater) (after 4hours of downloading for 900Mo !!), some icons are missing : After Effetcs, prelude, and Adobe Extended scripts :
I run my creative cloud mainly on win7 pro destop computer.
2nd BUT :
The Adobe Application Manager don't see my installed program. I saw in other posts that it is a known issue.

We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
If one or more of your icons are not displaying correctly, or that your icon cache is corrupted, then you might consider rebuilding the icon cache to reset and reload the icon images into the icon cache.
The icon cache is located at the hidden system folder location below:
C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\IconCache.db
In the meanwhile if these steps doesnt resolve your issues you can contact Adobe support by following the link below:

Indesign document read with Extend Script

Hi, I am very new to indesign,
I have given a task, to read indesign .indd file with Extend Script. The details are,
I have one indesign doument, say 'Test.indd'. I want to access that document usiing javascript,
and I want to know how many pages are there, how many textFrames in one page, like this.
Is it possible with Extend Script? If yes, Can you tell me how we can acheive that?
I searched with google, bt I have not found any clue regarding to this

Illustrator extend script save() changes file extension

If I open a PDF in Illustrator, make a change, and save using the menu option or shortcut, the file is saved as expected.
If I try to use extend script (i.e. app.activeDocument.save(), or .saveAs()), the file extension is renamed to .ai. How do I keep my original filename when saving with extend script?

Thanks for replying to my problem. After posting I noted the "More Like This" box on the right of the screen. The top topic was "Restore old dual screen functionality" and turned out to be the the same question with a surprising answer - in the "Mission Control" dialogue, NOT the "Displays" dialogue. There are five tick boxes at the top of the Mission Control screen and the last of them is "Displays have separate spaces" and this box was ticked through the loading of the Mavericks op. system (presumably). Unticking this box, as advised, restored the 'extended' mode and all is now well.
We live and learn!

Extended Unix class - Agent will not update

We built a management pack to extended the Unix computers to define additional attributes. We created and AIX Computer Class Extended and Linux computer Class Extended. This defines theses agents as 2 classes. When we try to update the
agent through the GUI I get the error 'Found 2 or more derived types of class Microsoft.Unix.Computer'.
I run the commands:
$class = Get-SCOMClass | ?{$_.name -like "Microsoft.Unix.Computer"}
(Get-SCOMClassInstance -Class $class | where {$_.Name -like "unixcomputer.domain"}).GetMostDerivedClasses()
This displays the AIX 6.1 computer class and AIX Computer Class Extended. The only way to update the agent is delete the node and rediscovery it. This is not something I want to do in production with 50 nodes. Is there a way to install
the agent with this Unix extended class?

Run a script after a package is updated?

Is it possible to run a script after a package is updated? I have Anki use a custom config folder (~/.anki instead of the default ~/Anki) and every time Anki updates it reverts back to the default folder. It's not such a burden to make a script that fixes this and run it manually after every update, but it would be nice if it worked automatically. So is there any way to monitor what pacman updates and run a script after it updates a certain package?

If you're modifying a config file to change this, and pacman is overwriting it, consider adding the config file to pacman's NoUpgrade array in pacman.conf (man pacman.conf for details). If you feel that lots of people would benefit from this file being exempt from the upgrade process, file a bug report/feature request, and the maintainer may make the change in the package itself.

The purpose is to use the tar file with all the XML Schemas implemented in 4.2.1 on ASR9k:

But, when I am trying to run the example scripts, I am getting :

I've not used this toolkit, but I believe it uses the same XML agent that NETCONF uses. You should make sure you have the following configured:
netconf agent tty
