I want to extend the ring time on my iPhone as it currently only rings for 5 seconds and then goes to message.

The following works on my iPhone, enter the code...

Where NN is the number of seconds, in increments of 5, to a maximum of 30 seconds.

If the codes Tanzim mentioned don't work, just call your carrier and ask them to extend your time until voicemail picks up, to 30 seconds. They do this routinely.

  • HT4515 How do you adjust how long the iphone rings for before going to voicemail?

How do you adjust how long the iphone rings for before going to voicemail? Mine diverts after only a couple of rings.

I believe you do that through your phone service provider.  I wonder if you have unheard messages in your voice mailbox.  I think some carriers use that mechanism - diversion to voicemail faster if the recipient has unheard messages.
I do not believe you can change this directly on your iPhone.

  • Extending the ring time on nokia 6120

Can anyone please help with the code or how to change the length of the ring time on nokia 6120

As others have pointed out, this is a newtork feature.
The GSM standard allows for ring times from 5 to 30 seconds in 5 second increments. You can set it by going into your phone's call divert settings, more precisely the "call divert if no answer" setting. Set it to divert to voicemail, and you will be asked to select a delay from 5 to 30 seconds. Once you've done that, the phone sends a command to your network telling it to wait however many seconds before shunting inbound calls to voicemail.
Note that some networks override the setting you give here. If this is the case here you'll need to phone your operator and ask them if there's anything they can do.

  • Rings before going to voicemail

How do you set the number of rings before going to voicemail.

This is the code for extending the ringing time with Vodphone... I've set it on a few phones and it works. The 121 portion of the code if the voicemail number so if another network is different, it's that bit that you change.
The 30 at the end is the number of seconds it rings, I think you can also change that to 20 or 25 or whatever you fancy.
Tap the phone icon to bring up the phone keypad
Type in the following code as if dialing a number: *61*121*1130# then press call.
You'll get an on screen message saying you've changed the voicemail settings (or something like that).

  • How do I extend the time before re-entering password.  I have it set of one hour at present but would like to extend that.

I have a 2014 Mac Mini 1.4G, 4GB, 500GB.  I bought this recently but am new to Mac.  How can I extend the down time before having to re-enter my password. I have it set to 1 hr but I need more time because of using it intermittently throughout the day.  I can't seem to get back to where I set that in the first place.

You can go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and make your choices:

  • Long delay before returning to menu

I've made several movies and burned them using iDVD in the past, but I've never had this problem. After the movie is done playing, it takes at least a good minute to two minutes for the main menu to come back up. Any idea what is wrong or how to fix it?

It sounds like you miight have some extra space at the end of your movie. Sometimes a stray fragment of audio or video left over from editing gets located down the time line from the end of your movie. They can be tiny and hard to see. The movie will then play out with a dark screen until it reaches the "end" at that stray fragment, before returning to the menu. Expand your time line as wide as it will go and do a careful search for any such fragments and delete them.
Also, if you have music that has been muted but extends out past the end of your movie, the dark screen will play out until the end of the muted song before switching back to the menu.
Although unlikely, for some reason you may have left an extra long black clip at the end of your movie. (It happened to me once,)
If none of the above resolves your problem, try using the search function of this forum. I have seen your issue come up a lot.

  • Ringing duration before call forwarding

I have a skype number with a paid subscription. I use a skype phone on my home network to receive business calls on. In the previous skype UI I set the ringing duration to 25 seconds before the call would forward to my mobile number. It works really well for me when I'm out and about. However I want to change the ringing duration before diversion to 15 seconds. On the new Skype UI this option has disappeared (or at least I can't find it anywhere!?) Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, k1092, and welcome to the Community,
Remember, the setting is not for the number of rings before the incoming fall is forwarded, but the amount of time.  In the Windows version of the Skype software, Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Call Forwarding -> Call Forwarding Options.  Remember to Save any changes you make to your settings.
You may first need to check the timing on how long the number of times the incoming call chime sounds (rings).
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • IPhone: Hook into ringer on off switch?

One pet peeve I have with applications is that they don't respect the ringer on/off switch. I shouldn't have to constantly change the volume when I go from a meeting (app muted) to my car (normal volume). I can't find any reference to getting the state of this switch in the sdk docs or forum. Anyone out there done this yet?

Bump - the Jott app does this so I know it is possible.

  • HT1689 How can I extend the number of times my phone rings before going to answerphone

How can I extend the number of times my Iphone 4s rings before it goes to answerphone

Call you carrier and ask them how you can change this.  The number of rings before voicemail kicks in is set by your carrier.  Some have the option to do it from your phone if you know the sequence of codes to send, but you need to ask your own carrier how to do it for their system.

  • Extend the time before voicemail picks up

How can I set the number of rings on my phone before voicemail picks up?  The default of 20 seconds is too short.  I would like to extend the time to 30 seconds.  How can I do this?

It's set by the system at roughly 30 seconds; sometimes using a different ringtone helps.
