Extended BASIS Configuration- DASHBOARD

Hi,
I want to simplify the BASIS job like monitoring DB / OS / System. I am impressed with SQL server DASHBOARD . Is there any option in SAP to do like that of any third party software can do that. Here i am pointing out some of my ideas. Dear experts please put your ideas on those things can be done or not.(OS: AIX 6.1 / DB: Oracle 10g)
Advance Auto Email + SMS for any critical error / warning (OS / DB ( Tablspace bellow threshold value)/ System).
Graphical Dashboard with chart and log analysis.
Control sap with SMS for emergency shutdown (Ex: for any emergency SAP and servers needs to shutdown for reduce data loss and safety. A sms can be send from remote so that the OS will receive sms and OS will shutdown the SAP by script and shutdown itself.)
When cluster fail-over, A email or SMS can be send for acknowledgment.
Like these what are the others advanced configuration can be done please discuss here with full process. Who ever has any new idea please share here.

Have a look at the below link,This is about Work Centers in SAP Solution Manager, they provide all the functionalities ,tools to manage the entire Landscape in particular, System Landscape Management, System Administration and System Monitoring.

  • In a Roaming Network, Does the Primary Base Station have to be the only hub, or can spokes come out of an Extended Base Station?

I live in the basement of an old, brick building, in one of 5 apartments, for the building's staff. I have an older Airport Extreme and Express setup that's working for me in my unit, connect to a Comcast Ubee cable modem. The rest of the basement shares a DSL connection through a wired network that includes three routers. I've been asked to build a network that the rest of the staff can share, using my cable connection and any new hardware required. Since ethernet cable is already in place for the legacy DSL network, I'd like to re-use it with new base stations and Airport Expresses, just swapping out the old gear. But the Roaming Network setup instructions show all spokes coming out of the Primary Base Station. This does not match my situation, where my cable modem is in a different apartment from the hub of the old network.
My thought was to get two new Airport Extremes and wire one to my modem, replacing my old AE, and then place the other in my neighbor's apartment, connected by a new ethernet cable. His Extended Base Station would be where all the legacy ethernet cables terminate. I would plug them into the new, Extended Base Station on his end, and put Airport Expresses on the other ends, so each apartment (and the staff room) would have its own wired router.
Will this configuration work? If not, can anyone suggest a better way? I'm an Apple products user but some of the other guys use Windows. My understanding is that this shouldn't be a problem.

What I mean is that ethernet can be wired through switches.. (or bridged routers which are switches).
    So you have
    Router----Switch--Client
    .      .      .   |
    .      .      .Switch--Client
    .      .      .  |
    .      .      . Switch--Client
The correct way to do this is
    Router----Client
    .      |
    .    Client
    .      |
    .     Client
etc.. all clients are ethernet connected back to the router.. no switches. That means loads of ethernet.. one for every client run all the way back to a central area.
What you are proposing is to run switches (bridged routers).. so you are using each ethernet link to connect more than one computer. This is wrong from a purists point of view.
Sorry for the ASCII art work.. but I hope it makes sense.
You do not need fancy gear to make this all work.. what you do need is a main controlling router.
You cannot have two routers.. so you cannot put a switch between the cable modem and use two router. You have cable modem---ROUTER.
That single router must therefore do all the work... part of that work is to provide some way to control usage.. so everyone gets a fair share.. and keep an eye on quotas.. sadly you cannot do both with any cheap routers I know of.. what I propose you do is WNDR3800 flashed to gargoyle firmware.. this is key.. this firmware will be able to track usage and allow each user a fixed amount of your bandwidth.. upload in particular.. as even with high speed on your download you still do not have upload of the same capacity.
As far as end users are concerned they do not need fancy equipment.. they just need a wireless router. So they can get connection by ethernet or wireless.
Talk to me directly if you need more help..email is here.

  • Extended Accounting - Configuration info

    Hi all,
My understanding is that the file '/etc/acctadm.conf' is created / changed, whenever extended accounting is enabled / changed. I noticed that this file is not getting created when extended accounting is enabled.
Also is there a function which would return the extended accounting configuration information like providing information that /usr/sbin/acctadm prints out.
    Thanks

  • Coherence *Extend-TCP configuration not working

    Hi,
I was trying to setup the Coherence *Extend-TCP configuration on my solaris box.
To start with, i'm trying to start a Cache server instance by using the cluster-side configuration XML (given at URL below)
         http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/Configuring+and+Using+Coherence*Extend
But while starting its throwing me the below error. The Coherence version that i'm using is 3.2/353. Please advise.

    Sorry,
I noticed that the above error occurs for version 3.1.1 (& not for 3.2) as previously
specified in previous message (above). My apologies.
As a follow-up, i've now installed 3.2 jars on my environment & i noticed that the
above error doesnt occur for this version. The cache server seems to be coming
up fine now (with the appropriate TCP/IP configuration tag in the xml).
But when i try to run my client application (which attempts to connect to this
remote cache server), it throws an InvocationTargetException error (full exception
         below).
The error indicates that i'm missing some elements in the XML configuration.

  • [SOLVED] Clonning window in extended desktop configuration

    Hello,
Does anyone know whether it is possible to clone a window in a extended desktop configuration running two monitors?
I would like something like cloning the displays, but not for the entire screen, just for the windows that I want.
Something like I did on this poorly made image
Here is some link that I found, but I think that this doesn't cover this:

I made a little script to automate this process.
So one can just run it, select the window with the mouse and the vnc viewer pops out!

  • NI PXI/PCI-1428 base configuration

    Hello,
I am using the NI PXI/PCI-1428 board. I am sending a camera link video (coming from an FPGA) to the frame grabber. I have been trying to create a custom camera with the camera file generator program, but it only gives me the medium configuration option. Therefore, when trying to acquire video, it gives me the 0xBFF60022 timeout error. It is because it is expecting video in medium configuration and i am sending it in base configuration.
The Ni 1428 board clearly supports base configuration.
    Any clue?
    Thank you

I suspect it has to do with your image size.  Try a smaller image.
You can also edit the file manually once created, using notepad.

  • Where To Download Base Configuration ISO(s) For Test Labs?

    Hi.
Is there somewhere that I can download an ISO for the base configuration for the Test Labs outlined here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/1262.test-lab-guides.aspx#Base_Configuration_TLG
Or is it presumed that the reader of the Test Lab Guides will configure each machine themselves?  If so, why is this not communicated clearly in the Test Lab guides?

    Hi,
Test Lab Guides is to let you use less to learn a new technology, product or an entire multi-tier solution, TLG provides you with step-by-step instructions to create the Base Configuration test lab. You could build test labs based on other
TLGs from Microsoft and published in the TechNet Wiki, perform TLG extensions, or create a test lab of your own design that can include Microsoft or non-Microsoft products.

  • Unable to Extend Base Network

This applies to both Airport Extreme and Airport Time Capsule.  I just obtained and installed the new Airport Time Capsule that supports 802.11 AC.  I was able to create a base network but haven't been able to extend it using an Airport Express.  That was working with my previous router and works if I go back to it.
I can no longer see the Airport Express or any of my neighbors networks.  The Airport Express doesn't show up in Airport Utility.  The fact that I can't see my neighbors networks indicates it's the Airport TC.
Something is preventing the router from piicking up other networks.  When I show networks the only one visabie is the base network.
I assume it has to do with how the Airport TC is configured but I don't see anything obvious.
The router works great as a base station supporting severaal Macs, a wireless printer and a network drive.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Bud

Locate the AirPort Express in the same room as the TC and power up the Express for a few minutes.
Close AirPort Utility if it is open.
Do not connect the AirPort Express to the TC using an Ethernet cable. If you do, AirPort Utility will assume that this is the way that you want to permanently connect the Express, so AirPort Utility will configure the Express with that assumption.  When you disconnect the Ethernet cable, the Express will not function correctly.
Hold in the reset button on the back of the AirPort Expess for 9-10 seconds and release. Allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light.
Click the AirPort icon at the top of your Mac's screen and wait a few seconds for New AirPort Base Station to appear.  Just below that, click directly on the AirPort Express.
AirPort Setup will open up automatically and take a minute to analyze things, then announce that the Express will be configured to extend the TC network.
Enter a device name that you want to use for the Express, then click Next
Wait another minute while AirPort Setup configures the Express.
When you see the message of setup complete, click Done.
Now move the Express to a point that is approximately half the distance from the TC to the general area that needs more wireless signal coverage and power up the Express.

  • Cannot acces base configuration/no wireless network.

The current set up is as follows: Airport extreme base station that is directly connected to the modem. This is set up to create the wireless for the 3 macbooks in the house that we use. Also there is a Airport Express that is used to connect a PC desktop via the Ethernet port by using the WDS option.
The PC currently has internet, but none of the laptops can find the network that we have created. It seems like the configuration of the extreme got messed up and is just extending only to the express.
The biggest issue of it all is that when opening Airport Utility, no devices show up on the list. I have power cycled the modem, base stations etc and nothing helps to bring the devices up so that I can edit the configurations. Can someone please help me?

temporarily try running an ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports of the extreme to one of your Macs. you may want to turn airport off on that machine. launch airport utility.
does the extreme show up in AU ?

  • Help configuring dashboard editor to be read-only for shared dashboards

    Hi,
Can someone help me configure my Oracle BI user group permissions so that...
my dashboard developers to be able to see the reports and prompts make up our shared dashboards (ie. use the "Page Options>Edit Dashboard..." menu option). But I'd like to stop them from being able to save changes to shared dashboards.
    Thanks,

    Not quite.
I want my users to be able to use the "edit dashboard...." menu option so they can see the reports, prompts,... that make up the dashboard. My challenge is I don't want them to be able to use the "save" button and make changes to the dashboard though.

  • Webflow basis configuration - how to?

    Hello all,
i have to configure a Netweaver system in order to keep WebFlow work properly and to send/receive XML messages to Lotus Domino. Because, i'm not located in basis services (i'm ABAP and Workflow developer), this is absolute new for me
Can anyone explain to me, which adjustments have to be made in transaction SICF (service configuration) and SWR_WEBSERVER (WebFlow configuration)?
R/3 documentation describes only, that the Kernel must be configured as Webserver, but not, exactly how to do this.
Thank you in advance for the answers!
    Best
    Jens

    hi Jens
you need to carry out the following steps:
    1. go to txn RZ12 and maintain a server group over there.
    2. Go to transaction SICF and maintain SAP connector over there makes sure that the connector is active and is having all other configurations made in a proper manner.
    3. Go to T-Code SCOT and maintain SMTP server node.
4.Go to the T-Code SOSB and verify that the mail notification is sent to the external email id.
    5. after doing all this configurations go to Txn SWU3 and maintain webservices properly.
If you need i will send a document about all these configurations which has screenshots too, jsut send me your email id .
    Hopefully this will help you.
    Cheers
