Extended notification and NWBC inbox

Hi,
Currently we can configure Workflow Inbox link to SAP Workflow Inbox for GUI or HTML (SBWP),
is there any way our to configure that link to take us directly to NWBC Workflow Inbox?

Thanks for reply, Yes exactly i meant inbox link in extended notification than picked up using SHOW_INBOX_AS..there are three options
HTTP Link that Starts SAP GUI for HTML
HTTP Link that Starts SAP GUI for Windows
Executable Attachment that Starts SAP GUI for Windows
but it does not have option of NWBC Workflow Inbox.
Sure I will update influence portal for this option.
Btw , we could do something enhancing SWN_MESSAGE1 BSP application.
we inserted link which points to NWBC inbox URL.
and then we configured Msssage template using new BSP-URL.
Do you see any issue in above?
we will look into your suggestion of enhancing standard class as well.

Hi All,
I'm using extended notification ( SWNADMIN ) to send the workitems in SRM/ECC to MS outlook . The background jobs SWNSEL etc are run in the respective systems . Emails produced have links to logon to the respective systems and display/execute the workitem but I want the users to login via the portal . Is that possible ?

then i would suggest, before the link opens the corresponding appl, pop up for the userid , create specific portal roles lik manager,hradmin etc, so that the workitems are executed.
But one thing i would like to mention is : extended notification is mainly useful for those who do not access portal often.

Extended notifications and UWL

Hi Friends,
I am using Extended notifications for sending notifications to lotus notes. In the notification we can maintain shortcut to open the workitem in SAP GUI. But the users use only UWL to access work items.So Is there any way to maintain the link to be directed to the work item in UWL, is there a way of changing this email icon link to point at the portal rather than sap gui. Please clarify.
I heared that this can be maintained in General settings in SWNCONFIG, if so will this be a generic link to access the work list instead of specific workflow task?

Thanks for your reply. I tried to mention the UWL link in SWNCONFIG -> General Settings -> INBOX_LINK_URL and i am getting this is in notification. But i would like to know is there any way to dynamically generate the link along with the task id or work item id so that upon clicking the link the user can open the work item in UWL directly. Please let me know if this is possible or not.

The deadline monitoring job only creates additional workitems if a deadline is met, the sending of an email job retrieves workitems and sends them as email.

Extended notification and deadline monitoring

We are using extended notification to deliver new and changed workitem by email. Now we want to update some workflow approval tasks to add deadline notification. In SWU3 workflow customizing, we had setup "Schedule Background Job for Deadline Monitoring" to run job RSWFSLSDLEX (previous version is SWWDHEX).
My question: if there is some outstanding workflow task meet the deadline, will the notification email sent out by job RSWFSLSDLEX or extended notification report SWN_SELSEN? Thanks in advance.

UWL Notification and SAP Inbox

Dear All,
I have developed a leave application in webdynpro abap and my requirement is to send notification in the UWL.
I have selected the activity as Email then the notification is coming in UWL but when i select the activity as INBOX it is only coming to SAP Inbox not in the UWL.
Please Advice..

The notifications will not appear in UWL by default. You need to deploy a Sonic connector to the portal in order to display the notifications in the UWL notifications tab.
Another option could be to replace the send mail step in workflow as a decision step. Just write the same message to the decision step, and put there one button "Confirm" (or whatever). Then display these decision tasks in UWL. It will not be the same functionality but very close, and then you can avoid installing the Sonic connector.

Extended Notification - Attachment issue

Hi Experts,
I configured Extended notification and its working is fine.
But the issue is attachment is not coming with the notification.
Actually the work item has the two attachments and in Portal UWL i can able to see the attachments.
But the notification triggered by Extended notification, there is no attachment.
The notification should have the attachments as like work item.
Can any one help me on this?

"The job for the SWN_SELSEN report checks whether there is a schedule that needs to be executed. If this is the case, the report selects work items or delivers notifications and sets a time stamp. If the schedule was not executed at the intended time, this is indicated in the time stamp. The schedule is executed the next time the job is started."

Workflow - For Deadline send Extended Notification

Hi,
Its a particular requirement that in case the deadline is missed a mail need to be send to the approvers Outlook e-mail id. But this e-mail should be sent using extended notification.
First help me how to use extended notification and there is also some configuration needed for the same, so in case u know that thing or have a document kindly send.

We have configured extended notifications and its working fine. We recently done roll out for some other countries as well and dont want the exteneded notificatins for few countries.
Can I use the class CL_HRASR00_WF_NOTIFICATION_EX and method IS_RECIPIENT to do this? Please help.

Extended Notifications - Workflow Inbox link not working

Hi,
I have configured SWNCONFIG to send Extended Notifications. E-mails are being sent but the link for Workflow Inbox (configured in Subscription Settings - SHOW_INBOX_AS = LINK1) only takes to the enterprise portal home page not the inbox. I have search to have this fixed but with no luck. Does anyone know how to solve this?

I have follow the configuration in this links:

Subscription (SAP Library - Embedded Processes (SAP Business Workflow))
It does not refer any specific link to the inbox. Only to activate the service: default_host → sap → bc → workflow → shortcut
And to use SHOW_INBOX_AS = LINK1 and define the portal url in parameter WG_HOST in General Settings. In addition the url while navigating in the portal is always the same (e.g either on the home page or in the workflow inbox), so I guess its the system job to re-direct to the Workflow Inbox, but this does not seem to be happening for some reason.

SSO and Extended notifications

Hi Friends,
We are using extended notifications to send work item as attachment(SAP GUI shortcut) to outlook and it is working fine. But the shortcut attachments are not working in case the user has an "SSO" enabled for him, it is asking for a logon password . We are using SNC product for SSO. Please let me know if it is possible to have SSO for SAP shortcuts so that the user can open the work item attachment without entering the password

Hello Sapient,
If you want to be able to logon directly via the shortcut without entering user/password then you need to use SSO. It seems there is some issue with the user SSO. Do all users have this issue or just some?
I would also check the users SAPGUI release and patch level. Can you compare it to a user who does not have this issue. mAybe apply the latest SAPGUI patch and test again.
Maybe note 1257108 can point you in the right direction.

Mesage type for outbound mail and extended notification

3 month ago I used Extended Notification. All was correct.
Now in tr SOST when workflow item was created I see in front of outbound item message type Q and sending time "in 1 hour". But in the past there is message type I (and message class type was XS and now SO)
Where can I change (or bask situation) Q on I and resolve this situation and how?
In my wf I switch off deadline monitoring, but no result.
In SBWP all is correct.

If any message in waiting status, then it will have message type Q and message class SO.
If any message is in sent or transmitted status, then message type would be I and message class XS.
Error status msg type E and msg class XS.
From the above, you will come to know that your workflow items are in waiting status.
To change it from Q to I and SO to XS, ask your basis guys to do the required changes in exchange server so that all of them will be sent to the corresponding recipients.

Extended notifications problem

Hi experts,
I am trying to configure extended notifications for around 7 to 8 different taks
pertaining to different workflows.
I could successfully do it for 1 task.
Then after successful testing I did add more filters to the same configuration
under same subscription and delivery.
I even created new schedules for the new filters. But unfortunately it is not working.
I could debug the standard program SWN_SELSEN and found that the particular WAPI call to
select the delta Work Items from SWWWIHEAD and SWWWIHIST is failing because of some
timestamp mismatch.
Can you please provide me some help regarding this ?

You can find all the definitions and theories in the SAP Help link provided in the same blog.
I initially followed the above and could successfully do it for 1 task.
However, I was stuck in achieving the same for multiple task belonging to different workflows.
Here is how I did it:
1) Do the configuration in SWNCONFIG as per the blog and SAP Help
     A) Create your own delivery schdule
     B) Create your own subscription using the above delivery schedule
     C) Create your own filters
     D) Create your own selection schedule
2) Then run the report SWN_SELSEN to do the actual selection and delivery based on the schedules    you created.
The key is creating the filters. Follow the SAP Help link closely and try it. If you face any problems
the please let me know.

Extended notifications link

Dear Expert,
I also have a question regarding to the Extended notifications link.
My customer want to use the Extended notifications link with subscription parameter email as HTML, one msg per category and including HTTP link to open SBWP in SAPGUI for windows.
The problem is, that if saplogon is configured with group/server selection instead of an ordinary user specific application server entry, the link to the inbox received in the mail does not work. We get
an error: "Logon to SAP System faild. The system description '1. RPR [ERP Production system]' cannot be found in the system list. Make sure that saplogon.ini exists and choose an existing system description in the system list.
My customer has changed the parameter "logon_id" in trx. SWNADMIN so now the
field "System Description" is correct filled when he accept the error message - but still the link does not end up in the small logon window.
Could you provide some suggestion?

Extended notifications - SAP screen opens in little format

Hi all,
we're using extended notifications to warn users that they have unprocessed items in their workflow inbox, with a link in the mail to execute the workitem.
Whenever a user clicks on the link, SAP asks for the password, and it opens, but with a very little screen. Is it possible that the screen which opens is in full format ?

yeah, Martin, that's been a requirement from a customer, which I have solved by copying the RSWUWFML2 and set that option on the parameter for the function call that creates the shortcut (there are two of them in the coding).
