Extended Notification Config in ECC

Hi
I want to configure Extended Notifications in the ECC 6.0. I have created a category. But when I create a subscription for that, in the Subscription Basic data, it asks for  recepient address. i dont want to specify any specific user or email address. I want it to be applicable for all users by default.
How can I set up the above step in Subscription basic data?
Regards
Waz

Hi
It cannot be left empty. Its  a mandatory field. However I have found a solution and that is put a * in the field and that will work for all users.
Thanks & Regards

  • Issue with SWN_SELSEN report in Extended Notification - Re

    All,
I am working on ECC 6.0 and am using Extended Notif for Outlook mail generation. It's been working fine except that recently we have noticed that when a user goes to his witem thru' outlook mail and does nothing and comes out, then the witem is in IN PROCESS state. Next time when SWN_SELSEN is run, this is picking up this IN PROCESS witems and generating another Outlook mail.
Is this the std. behavior or any control is there where we can control which witems are to be picked up.
Anybody had this issue and any solutions or ideas will be a great help for me. Thanks in advance..

    Hello,
How do you have your Extended Notifications set up now - that it just tells a user once that they have a workitem and never again?
What is the status before they access it, READY?

  • Extended Notifications for SAP Business Workflow

    Hi expert,
    i need your help!!
i have configured the "Extended Notifications for SAP Business Workflow" with the tnx SWNADMIN and this was successful. I can write emails, but i can read this only on SAP GUI with the tnx SOST. I don't receive email on my email-address.
can you say me, where is the problem?
    Thank you in advance
    marcel

    Hi Marcel
    Rope in your Basis Guy!
Basically, your Extended notif part is working fine..... emails reaching SOST is proof. Going out of SAP may need basis config.
What do you see, a yellow triangle or a red light in SOST?

  • Extended Notifications: Message not sent

    Hi Folks
I had configured the extended notifications in the development system and it was working perfactly. Then I transported the customizing request for the above config to Test system.
I have scheduled the job for SCOT and SWN_SELSEN.
SWN_SELSEN do select the notifications to be sent but it does not send any messages.
I have checked the application log and it displays a message SWN 032 ERROR while creating a message.
Waiting for your expert opinion on how to resolve this issue.

    Hi Folks
Thanx for sending me your answers. I found the solution to this.
The solution lies in the activation of some services in SICF.
List of services can be found at the following link in the Pre-requisites section:

  • Extended notifications and the portal

    Hi All,
I'm using extended notification  ( SWNADMIN ) to send the workitems in SRM/ECC to MS outlook . The background jobs SWNSEL etc are run in the respective systems . Emails produced have links to logon to the respective systems and display/execute the workitem but I want the users to login via the portal . Is that possible ?
    Regards

    hi,
then i would suggest, before the link opens the corresponding appl, pop up for the userid , create specific portal roles lik manager, hradmin etc, so that the workitems are executed.
But one thing i would like to mention is : extended notification is mainly useful for those who do not access portal often.
    hope this helps.

  • Extended notification languages

    G'Day folks,
I'm using Extended Notifications in a multi-language environment on NW 7.0 SP11, and it appears to just get horribly confused when more than one language is involved.
We want to send one notification per workitem, containing the workitem text, in the recipient language.
I've set the following (and tried all kinds of combinations):
    Job language for SWN_SELSEN: English
Work item language: English from WF-BATCH (or previous user language)
    User logon language: French
    User communication language: French
    HR master record language: French
User "Workitems in logon language" switched on
    Result:
    Extended notification header/footer: English
    Workitem text: French
    Decision links: French
    Work item/UWL links: English
What is even more bizarre is that I've set this all up from scratch on a TestDrive system (SP12) and gotten the opposite results with a German user:
    Extended notification header/footer: German
Workitem text: German subject, English body
    Decision links: not tested
    Work item/UWL links: English
I've spent two days experimenting with various combinaitons of these to get a complete notification all in the same language. The only way is if everything is in another language - i.e. the WI is created by a French user, sent to a French user, SWN_SELSEN runs as a French user. Obviously this is not a solution.
Anyone had to deal with this before?
    Cheers,
    Mike
    Cross-posted on SDN and WUG

    Mike,
Dont know about this issue but some times I am also facing this kindaa situation, though not in extended notification transaction but in class builder transaction.
When I check any class having implemented any method, say it shows method description in german but when I check the same method descriptions in interface definition it is in english.
I think now I am used to live with it, perhaps there is an OSS note for this but couldnt searched till now (probably stuck with more urgent work)
    I am in ECC 6.0 release 7.0 SP 11.
Did you tried to check any OSS note for this?
    Cheers

  • Extended Notification authorization problem

    Hi All,
We configured extended notification for all the workflow in ECC 6.0.
We have been moved to production system. When users selecting the workitem link in the outlook, they are getting an authorization problem saying that 'You don't have an authorization to execute SWNWIEX'.
However, with this transaction the user can execute the ANY workitem just by entering the Work item id.  The transaction does not check if the work item is actually in the users inbox, I would think this could be a security issue.
could you anyone please help me out.
    -Steve

    Hello,
I don't think giving access to tx SWNWIEX allows all users access to all workitems.
Where did you read that? It could be the case for your account, but not everybody's.
    Test it out.

  • Issue with Chinese Translations not picked up in Extended Notifications

    All Gurus,
We are on ECC 6.0 with the below settings.
    SAP_BASIS     700     0015     SAPKB70015     SAP Basis Component
    SAP_ABA     700     0015     SAPKA70015     Cross-Application Component
We have been using Extended Notifications for quite some time and it's working fine in EN. We now are working on generating the Outlook mails in Chinese Language. In these, there are some std. SAP texts (as mentioned in "General Settings" in transaction SWNCONFIG) are not getting picked up even though the corresponding Chinese translation exists. Specifically, the EN text
"The following new work items require processing XXXXXXXX" corresponds to Dialog text "SWN_PROLOG_MULTI" maintained for parameter "TEXT_PROLOG_MULTI" in General settings.
When the Outlook mail is generated in Chinese, the corresponding Chinese text is not getting picked up and says "Text Not Found". Similar issue existed for some other Dialog texts maintained for parameters "TEXT_GOTO_WI" and "TEXT_CONTACT_ADMIN" for which SAP suggested new Notes 1661893 and 1661894. For these texts, once Chinese text is maintained in SE63, its getting picked up in the Outlook mail.
Has anybody faced similar issue with Chinese translations in Extend.Notif ? If yes, please let me know how to fix this issue.
Also, anybody knows the message / Dialog text # for the text "Execute Work item.SAP" in the Link that is attached to the Outlook mail ?. Please tell me how to maintain the Chinese text for this EN text.
    Timely reply is really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance & Regards,
    venu

    All,
SAP provided the translations in the Notes 1675156 & 1675157 and it resolved both the issues mentioned. Also, the "Execute Work Item.SAP" link is picked up from the Text Elements of the class "CL_SWN_NOTIF_WORKFLOW".
As the issue is resolved, i'm closing this thread.
    Thanks
    venu

  • Best approach to attach note to decision via extended notifications?

    Hi,
I'm looking for advice as to the best approach to handle this requirement. We are using extended notifications to deliver a user decision task to users' Outlook inbox. Users want to be able to attach a note after they select one of the decision links in the email. Currently if they click any option, they just get the standard page that says "Work item executed with decision option (whatever)".  There is no feature in that page for attaching a note.
We want to keep this as simple as possible from the users' standpoint. Currently these users are not using the UWL, and they don't use SAPGUI very much.  The need to attach a note will be infrequent, so the procedure needs to be obvious and simple, or the feature won't be useful.
The SAP system is ECC 6.0 with Netweaver 7.01. The immediate application is purchase requisition rejection (we want to be able to attach a note when rejecting), but I am hoping for a generic solution.
I'm thinking we have to create a substitute page that gets called when the link gets clicked. Will that work? But is there an easier way?
    Your thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Margaret

Just use the pen tool (p) and set the type to shape. The achor points can be selected with the direct select tool (a).

  • Configuration of Extended Notifications.

    Here is my problem,
I need to put a link to the workitem for notifications in SAP inbox as well as in notifications to the outside mail.
I am aware of report RUSWUWFML2 this does not solve my issue as it sends to all pending users. And also for some reason, this does not work, i tried many times to execute this. I am on Enterprise version 5.0.
After going thru some discussions here on SDN, came to know that on ECC 5.0, this is possiable thru Extended Notification. Has anyone did this before ? I am totally confused how to get this set up Extended Notifcation ?
How can i define new category ?
    Please advise.

  • PRD Cutover - Replace RSWUWFML2 with Extended Notif framework SWNADMIN

    Hi Folks,
We are using RSWUWFML2 to send out notifications for workitems in Production (PRD) environment.
Now we have implemented Extended Notification framework (SWNADMIN) in Dev and we are happy with what we learnt so decided to discontinue RSWUWFML2 in PROD and replace it with SWNADMIN config and job SWN_SELSEN.
From what I understand when I configure SWNADMIN in PROD and the SWN_SELSEN is run first time, it will send out one notification to every user who has pending work-items in their Inbox eventhough these users may already have received notifications for such items from existing program RSWUWFML2.
How do we do this cutover (discontinue RSWUWFML2 with extended notif framework)? How do I make sure that any work-items that were already accounted for send by RSWUWFML2 will not be considered by SWN_SELSEN?
Can I maintain a cutoff date in one of the  extended notification tables?
our SWNADMIN settings - All items - Once a day / New and changed work-items - Once every 30 mins,/ reminders for any pending work-items - individual notification for every workitem (after initial collective notification) until workitem is completed
    I will appreciate any help.
    Saurabh

Whether this is the best approach or not this is what I did.
In SWNADMIN I deleted the SAP entry ALL (under Selections) (ALL_FULL and ALL_DELTA).  I then created my own Selection and then specified the tasks to send notifications for.
Once I had created the custom selection (ZSELECTION) two entries were created (viewable in SWNCONFIG)
    1) ZSELECTION_ALL
    2) ZSELECTION_DELTA
I removed the schedule for ZSELECTION_ALL and only the schedule for Delta remained. This way only new and changed tasks will be included in the SWN_SELSEN program.
Then you can migrate the tasks at your discretion and remove the entries from RSWUWFML2 batch job on a case by case basis.
Additionally dont forget you should setup the batch job program to delete notifications as well: RSWNNOTIFDEL

  • SAP GUI for Windows - Extended Notification

    Hello All,
I have set up the extended notifications for outlook integration with sap workitem.
    Subscription settings are as follows:
    SHOW_ACTION_DECISION_AS     - Link
    SHOW_ACTION_DISPLAY_AS      - Link2
    SHOW_ACTION_EXECUTE_AS      - Link2
    SHOW_INBOX_AS                         - Link2
I am receiving the work item on outlook successfully.
Now the thing is, when i click on display/execute/workflow inbox link; it is opening the SAP GUI for html & giving error "host not found". As per my subscription settings, it should open the work item in SAP GUI for windows.
I am using the general task TS..8267 & not defined any SWFVISU config to overwrite SWNCONFIG.
Do i have to make any other setting so that my http link "Workflow Inbox"/"Display Work Item"/"Execute Work Item" gets open in SAP GUI for windows and not in SAP GUI for html?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Y Sharma

    Markus,
with all respect, but this is nonsens, I mean not your answer, but SAP's policy.
Today I can customize Windows, webpages (if implemented), my Android smartphone, with all colors, icons and much more.
SAP is ages back in time, I would dare to say that SAP even made a huge step backwards with the new design and should re-think its policy.
How many times customers have asked for a custom-colored GUI? Countless, I would say. Speaking from the point of a developer it is important to see at first glance which systems I've logged on, and believe me we have plenty of it.
    cu,
    Michael

  • SSO and Extended notifications

    Hi Friends,
We are using extended notifications to send work item as attachment(SAP GUI shortcut) to outlook and it is working fine. But the shortcut attachments are not working in case the user has an "SSO" enabled for him, it is asking for a logon password . We are using SNC product for SSO. Please let me know if it is possible to have SSO for SAP shortcuts so that the user can open the work item attachment without entering the password
    Regards
    sapient

    Hello Sapient,
If you want to be able to logon directly via the shortcut without entering user/password then you need to use SSO. It seems there is some issue with the user SSO. Do all users have this issue or just some?
I would also check the users SAPGUI release and patch level. Can you compare it to a user who does not have this issue. mAybe apply the latest SAPGUI patch and test again.
Maybe note 1257108 can point you in the right direction.
