Extended rights gets lost if user saves file w diffrent filename Why?

I have a question related to extended rights.
Background: I have a editable form field pdf file that I enable "extended rights" (acrobat 9 pro).
So that my users can fill in the form fields and save it and update the file later and then return the file (with the acrobat reader).
It seems like that when the users save the file (with a new/different file name) then the form fields are locked for editing after that the form is useless(not editable).
Is this a bug or is there a good reason or a workaround for this?

Is there a way to make a photoshop action that does a SaveForWeb, but adds text to the original filename when saving?

No this is one thing you will need scripting for.
They really should have introduced some modification to the Save dialog that allows file naming additions or modifications triggerable within actions. But they never did.
As a workaround, Bridge is a good tool for renaming, because naming convensions can be SAVED and quickly applied to groups of files. Not often known fact - On a mac there are also OS scripts that can do the same thing. There is a script called 'rename items' hidden away somewhere. This is accessable by Control or right clicking on a group of files, and going through the 'automate' submenu

How do I get to download and save files again?

When I try to download or save a file, a file with any format, nothing happens. Only way of getting the file saved is to open it in its designated programme and save it from there. Certain file types can not be saved since they have no programme to open in (like .ies file, for example).
Changing the file behaviours will not help, it still behaves the same way, i.e. it won´t let me save straight from the browser.

You really need to provide more information if you expect anybody to help you.

Lost ability to save files within site

I'm working on a website for my company. Everything's been
going smoothly until today, and I'm not sure what I did wrong, but
I'm hoping someone can tell me how to fix it. I'll try my best to
give the information that will be needed.
First of all, my problem is, for some reason, I can no longer
save a file to the site root. More importantly, it's the home page.
I was working on it, and when I clicked Save, nothing happened. I
tried "Save As" and still nothing. I decided to restart the
program, assuming I'd have to redo the steps I'd just taken,
however upon reopening dreamweaver, the file was GONE.
I've tried exporting the origional file from Fireworks, but
as soon as I make any changes to it in Dreamweaver, I have the same
problem as I mentioned above.
Other important information could be: I was publishing the
site to a local folder.. and I had that local folder attached to a
test server. I started to have problems with the test server, so I
closed the connection. While trying to repair that problem, I
renamed the local folder that I had been publishing to. In Manage
Sites I selected "None" instead of "Local or Network folder" so
that the site would be local only.
So I'm pretty sure I screwed it up while messing with the
test server/ local folder, but since none of that is hooked up
anymore, shouldn't it work now?
Please, somebody help me before I tear my hair out? Please?

Why not start by defining your site on your local machine,
develop it
locally, then transfer it to the network machine/server when
done? Save all
the hassle?

When I link file I get error message cannot save file to draft then I cannot send the message

Using Hightail to link, I click link, the file uploads and the blue box appears in the email with the link but then when I try to send it I get an error message saying "Sending of message failed. There was an error attaching hightail.png. Please check if you have access to the file.".... Help!

There could be a number of factors: under Tools/Account Settings/<i>accountname</i>/Copies & Folders, are drafts saved to an IMAP server folder or Drafts on Local Folders? The latter is recommended for IMAP accounts. Second, does the attachment size exceed your service provider's limits? Third, do you have ab anti-virus program scanning outgoing mail (disable that component if it's in place)?
Otherwise, there could be a bug in the Hightail implementation in TB.

XFA form with button to save file with unique filename

I do get an alert when the PDF is saved. But if I modify the folder js to say var vPath = "/c/HSS/ instead of var vPath = "/c/HSSSave/ I don't get the alert "There was a problem." Do you see an error in the else condition?

Can no longer print anything from a website when using FireFox. Have updated FF but no other programs added or changed. Get a message "save file as *.xps"

When I try to print, I get a message to save file as *.xps file, but Mozilla stops responding when I try that. Can still print from other browsers.

I'm having the same problem. If I navigated away from a folder it was happening with for a while, the ghost perviews in the coverflow would disappear, but it would still happen if I tried to move or delete a file.

Several of my applications (adobe acrobat, CAD) often crash (and need to be Forsed Quit) when I try to open a file using Cover Flow. AutoCAD release the following advisory:

Solution
This happens when you use Cover Flow view mode in a dialog box and navigate across folders. This issue will need to be corrected by Apple in a future Mavericks update.
To work around this issue, do not use the Cover Flow view mode in file navigation dialog boxes such as Open, New, Save, External Reference attach, PDF attach, Image attach, Import, Export, etc.
This is particularly annoying when trying to select a particular graphic file to work on. I wind up opening a finder window in Cover Flow to find the particular graphic I want to open and then looking for the file name in List View in the Open diaglog box.

Cannot Save File. File is Locked

Good morning. I just downloaded the Cloud CS6 and am working with Fireworks. I saved a PNG file then later went back to modify and now cannot save the file. I am trying to save as with a png extension but keep getting the message cannot save file. File is locked. I have read several of the forums but can't seem to resolve by myself. Any help is greatly appreciated.

did you create the file, or is it coming from a the shared folder, and was (perhaps) created by another user?
I ran across a similar error with a (text edit) file created by another user.
Opened just fine, but when I edited it, then selected Save,
it failed to save.
Selected Save As... and used the same name and location, the file as expected.

Bluetooth connection gets lost

Hello, I have a lumia 2520 and a 620. When I pair them with bluetooth they connect, but before I can do something with them the connection gets lost in about ten seconds or so. Why is this and what can I do so the connection remains?

Preview in browser IE7 - It asks to open or save file..why?

Whenever I use the preview in browser option with Dreamweaver
CS3 and Vista's IE7 as default I get an open or save file prompt.
How do I stop this from occuring so that my webpage will
display within IE7 and I don't get this prompt each time?

Wouldn't matter in this case. There is something wrong at the
system level
for the browser not to recognize the file's extension.

Extended Rights Lost Upon Save

I have form fields in a PDF document and have done this for years. The Extended Rights are enabled so that users can type in the fields. I just had a report that on Day 1, the users were able to type in the fields and save at day end. On Day 2, users were no longer able to type in the fields. It seems like the extended feature is dropping overnight. Multiple users reported the same problem. Has anyone seen this before and found a resolution?
To add a twist: The users said that if they closed the PDF window and were prompted to save by Adobe, they clicked Yes and the next day they lost the ability to type in the form fields. However, if they went to File and Save before trying to close the window, they said they were able to type in the fields the next day as expected. Very weird! I was not able to verify what was occuring because I am just being told about this two weeks after the document was used in a training class . . . .

You may also consider initializing these values from a file. There are lots of posts which go into details about how you can do this. This is a much more flexible and maintainable approach then relying on the default value of a control.

The simplest way is with the chmod Terminal command.
Warning: unless you know exactly what you are doing, you are almost certain to break something with indiscriminate use of this command. Make sure at least your data files are backed up (& ideally in offline storage) before you experiment with this command, & note that you can mess things up enough that you will have to reinstall the OS to recover.
