Extended use error for PDF form

Hi,
I have created a form with a pdf background that is stored on a shared server. Most users access the form with Adobe Reader X. When originally created, the feature to enable usage rights in Adobe Reader were enabled. I updated the form to correct the text length allowed in a particular field. Now when you access the form via Reader X, the following error message appears and the form no longer works. This does not occur if the form is opened in Acrobat Professional or Standard, but most users have Reader X. Can anyone please help?

You lose the extended features on a PDF any time you modify a PDF with Livecycle.
After modifying your PDF with Livecycle you open it again with Adobe Pro X and save this PDF as a Reader Extended PDF.

PDF Complete is not necessary. Apple's Preview application and Adobe's Acrobat Reader (both free) are all most people need for pdfs.
If you want to create pdf documents there are any number of applications for it. Easiest might be to just print to pdf, (File menu > Print > PDF button) in many applications.

FormsCentral does not enable you to edit a PDF - there is an "Import PDF" feature that allows you to use an existing PDF form and import it into FormsCentral to collect and manage responses, but it does not allow you to edit and does not provide a "web" version of the form.

You could use Adobe Acrobat XI to edit your PDF adding a drop down list.

Updating Tag Name using Adobe Professional for PDF form created with Tags in Adobe Livecycl Designer

I have created a form using Adobe Livecycle Designer. These PDF forms have Tags on them when created and generted from Adobe livecycle designer.
I am able to open the PDF form in the Adobe Profesional 9.0.
I want to edit / Update the Tags on the PDF form using Adobe Professional 9.0. I am not seeing any option to view the Tags on the forms so that I can edit it while I have open the PDF in the Adobe Professional. The PDF document was created in Adobe Livecycle Designer 9.0
Please let me know how can I edit the Tags on a PDF form using Adobe Professional for a Form that was created using Adobe livecycle and tags added.

How to find where used for PDF forms

I have a small issue. I want to find the where used list for a PDF form SD_INVOICE_FORM01. Just want to see the driver program which is calling this PDF form.

Hi,
You can see the driver program in Tnapr table.
Give the FORM name in the selection criteria. You will get the driver program details.
If you have the FM name generated,goto se37 and check where used list there.( It is useful only if the FM is used by its name in the driver program.)

Script for calculations using checkboxes in PDF form

I have 7 checkboxes, at least one must be checked, but the user may select all. Each one has a value of 800, therefore selecting all seven would give a total of (800 + 800 + 800 + 800 + 800 + 800 + 800). Selecting only two: (800 + 800), etc.
However, the last checkbox is a 50% discount for students.
I'd like the total to have this formula:
(CheckBox1 + CheckBox2 + CheckBox3 + CheckBox4 + CheckBox5 + CheckBox6 + CheckBox7) = x
If CheckBox8 is selected, then x/2.
I've done (CheckBox1 + CheckBox2 + CheckBox3 + CheckBox4 + CheckBox5 + CheckBox6 + CheckBox7) / CheckBox8
but in this way, I only get a value if the CheckBox8 discount is selected. Not everyone will be a student.
Excel, Access, no problem, but I'm new to javascript and pdf forms. Any suggestions?

Two things about Acrobat JavaScirpt and forms you should be aware of:
1. Check boxes and radio boxes have a string value of "Off" when there is no selection is made for the field or a field within an exclusionary group of fields, fields with the same name but different export values.
2. One can not divide by zero and expect a reasonable answer. You will get a string returned with a value of "NaN' (Not a Number), "Infinity", or "-Infinity". Those values maybe number types but the numeric field type can not display them and reports a format error. You can check this by setting the field format to 'None'.

PDF Preview Error for ISR Form in tcode SFP...................

Q1. I am trying to copy existing standard PDF Form ISR_FORM_SRQ2 from Transaction SFP but ....
If the Standard form has any layout then it gives me error "Internal Error Occured SAFP API"
If No layout is designed its blank then it allow me to copy that Form.
Q2. Also If I try to Preview PDF i get this Information
 Script failed(Language is FormCalc , Context os data..*...etc
 Controlparameter ISR Mode = Display........................

Hi,
 Please check the XDP file size of the original form..that you are trying
 to copy...( in the command line type-FB_XDP_DOWN )..
 Check if the file size is more than 1 MB...there could be a problem..during
 copying ,saving and activating forms with more than 1MB...

Designer form prompts Reader X error:"This PDF form requires a newer version of Adobe Reader"

I have a PDF form that was created using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. PDF version 1.6, so it's good for Reader 7.x and above.
When someone using Adobe Reader X tries to open the form, they get this javascript error message:
"This PDF form requires a newer version of Adobe Reader. Without a newer version, the form may be displayed, but it might not work properly. Some form elements might not be visible at all. In an internet connection is available, clicking OK will download and install the latest version."
Is there anything I can do to the form that would make this error message go away? Is this a know issue with Adobe Reader X or Designer?

Is there any code running on the form?
Reader X has come out with additional security features that must be disabled to get any PDF form w/code to work.
Open Adobe Reader X --> click on Edit --> Preferences. Under the General Category, uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at startup" (last checkbox in the dialog box). Click OK and try to open your form.

File in Use error deleting PDF in Windows 8.1 SkyDrive

I'm using SkyDrive and have ran into an interesting issue.
I'm also using Adobe Acrobat XI Standard
When I save a PDF file to SkyDrive in Windows 8.1, it becomes difficult to delete the file via the file explorer
I get a "File In Use" error - "The action can't be completed because the file is open in another program" - yet it's not.
It gives me the option to "Try Again" and I click that about 4 times, getting the same error, and then after the 4th time, it allows the deletion of the file.
If I were to save the PDF to my desktop, it deletes immediately.
It seems to only be in the SkyDrive directory where it's an issue
Other document types do not have this problem.
I am using the standard security within Windows 8.1, and it hasn't detected a virus.
All newly created PDF files are acting like this. Non-PDF files are deleting properly.
So it's not existing/old files, or non-PDF files.

Only for PDFs. Acrobat and Reader are not running while deleting the file.
In looking into this further, the Modern app for SkyDrive shows these files as awaiting updates on SkyDrive - even after 24 hours later. Until they are updated, they continue to have this issue within the File Explorer view.
I would say that this is a SkyDrive issue, but it’s only related to PDFs. Word, Excel, JPGs, etc. all function properly. It seems to be some interaction between Acrobat or PDFs and SkyDrive.

Highlight Fields as default for PDF Forms

Hello all,
I've recently designed a PDF form with some required fields, which get marked in red as soon as you open the form. However, some Acrobat Reader users have to click first on "highlight fields" in order to see the required fields. Is there a way to set "highlight fields" as a default for this form?

The suggested code didn't work for me with Adobe Reader 8.0. However, since I am a novice at this, I may not be adding the code correctly -- can you please tell me if this JavaScript client code for layout:ready is correct or not? I added the code in red. (I am using LiveCycle Designer ES Version 8.2.1.4029.1.523496). It seems to be in the right place because if I alter the code to unconditionally set app.runtimeHighlight to false, then when I open up the form with Reader 9.0, the highlighted fields are off.

Does a person need Adobe Reader in order to use a fillable PDF form?

I have created a fillable form using Acrobat XI and I find that some persons are unable to use it while others are. Does a person need Adobe Reader to use the fillable form? If so, how easy is it to download?

Reader is an excellent, and free, option for your recipients who need to fill out your form. It's easily downloaded from www.adobe.com/products/reader.html. You can also use the Fill & Sign service on Acrobat.com to fill any PDF form.
What troubles are your recipients encountering? And those who do have trouble--how are they filling out the form?

Submit Button for PDF Form

Good Morning All,
I have created a simple form in Live Cycle with a submit button. Originally, I placed a "Submit by E-Mail" button and found that wasn't working at all. Then I tried placing a button and reconfiguring it as a submit button. The button I reated has the correct group e-mail address I want the form submitted to - the department's generic e-mail address. When I go to test the form it defaults back to my e-mail address. This is driving me crazy. What am I doing wrong???? Help, anyone.

You need to buy LC Forms for this use case. LC forms contains the API to extract data in XML format from the PDF.

I am Using Authorizations To My Forms (I created One Addon For This Addon I am Using Authorization).I created Authorization For My Addon But While Working It Showing Some Errors
. In My Addon Four Forms are there For this four forms I am Using Authorization based on usres some screens only super user can access. normal user he is not a super user he cliekd on that authorization form it shows one message Your not a authorized user to permitted this operation in this message box we have two butons one is ok button and one is Authorized by another user . When i clicked on Ok Button I am getting error Internal error (-10) occured [131-183]. Please give me Your Valable Suggestion.

the plug-in you are referring to is, as you correctly state, an Adobe plug-in for Adobe's LiveCycle product family.
The ISR integration of Interactive Forms in SAP is based on Adobe components in Interactive Forms (Designer and ADS) that are 'related' to LiveCycle, but in essence a separate development for SAP. In addition, the ISR integration was built on top of the originally implemented integration on both the ABAP and Java side.
Within NetWeaver, there is no support for using Adobe plug-ins for forms development in .NET. This would be something that Adobe might be able to assist you with, but I assume that this would be a professional service by Adobe.
