Extending SOLAR01/SOLAR02

Hi All,
I want to add a button on Gen. Documentation Tab in SOLAR01 in SOLMAN. I found the description in SPRO for 'process function codes in tabs' that there is a BADI SA_FCODES_ON_SOLAR_TABS which can be used and Customer pushbuttons can be put in the tab with GuiXT.
Please help to understand on how I can use this.
I tried using GuiXT with SHD0 to add the button but didn't succeed.
Also how to add a function code for my button to execute the process when button is clicked.
With click of button I want to launch wiki page.
So please help me how to implement the BADI to achieve this or is anyone know any other way like modifying SAP code then how I can proceed.
Thanks!
Regards,
Ahmed

  • Solar01 - Solar02 : Structure nodes copy

    Hi All,
Our current system landscape is :
    FD1 100 : Sandbox & Evaluation Systems
    FD1 200 : Golden Client
    FD1 300 : ABAP Development & Unit testing
We have assigned the following in Solution manager in transaction "smsy" under logical groupings:
    Developement System : FD1 200
    Evaluation System : FD1 100
    Golden client         : FD1 200
    Sandbox :  FD1 100
    Dev & Unit Test : FD1 300.
    Scenario:
We have done all the Scenarios, Processes, process steps, transactions in SOLAR01 with System Role as 'Evaluation System'
When we enter into Config phase(SOLAR02), the Scenarios and process are NOT getting reflected here which we have already done in SOLAR01.
Question is: Do we need to do anything extra so that the work done in SOLAR01 is reflected in SOLAR02?
I have also tried by Changing the System Role to 'Developement System' in SOLAR01 and tried to execute a transaction but still in vain.

  • Additional system roles in SOLAR01/SOLAR02

    Hello,
Is it possible by customizing or something else, to have more than the Dev/Qas/Prod system roles selectible in SOLAR01 and SOLAR02 ?
I have logical components where there are other types of systems, and I would like to use them in my Blueprint/Configuration.
    Thanks.
    Thomas

    Goto SMSY
    Goto Project Landscape
    select your project
now you see your logical components for your project, in here you can add via system role assigment other system roles like evaluations, demo, sap referecen etc... if you want more than available here, click on "Systm Roles" in the System Role Assigment and you can add your customer Roles
once you did that, this will be visible in solar02 / system-role

  • Viewing Embedded Documents in SOLAR01 / SOLAR02

    Hi there,
I have noticed that it is not possible to view embedded documents when using the display only mode of SOLAR01 or SOLAR02.
Is there a solution available that will allow access to view embedded documents without granting full change access to the documents?
    Cheers,
    Simon

    Thanks Jason,
I am effectively the security person too!!
I have managed to create the display only roles for document viewing. That works fine although with the display role, the users cannot open the embedded documents within other documents.
They can in change mode, but that really ruins the point of having the display only roles in the first place.
Has anyone found any authorisation settings that mean that you can display documents but also launch their embedded documents without invoking the change mode?

  • Solar01/solar02 in solution manager: landscape structure definition- urgent

    Hi Forum Members,
I need to understand whether this is possible and if it is then how do i do it; any step by step manual from SAP is available. We have solman 7.1 and project with type 'implementation' created. When i go to solar01/02 i can maintain business scenario for ERP with relevant business processes however our landscape is like ERP, CRM, Enterprise Portal , DMS (Document Management System), TREX. I wish to adjust solar 01 business process structure in a way that it reflects the entire landscape. So, regarding i have few questions as below. Please let me know your views ASAP as i am runnig very short of time to asetup
    1. Is it possible to adust all these applications in the single business process structure e.g. one implementation project has business scenarios to ERP, CRM, EP and so on.
Business process structure we get is general with nodes after project creation in project administrtion is :
    A.Organizational unit
    B. Master Data
    C. Business scenarios.
    2. If not then do i have to create individual projects for each aplication like one for ERP and Other for CRM and so on.
For reference please see the below prototype i am expecting to achive by doing this (solar01) :
    <Implementation Project>
    A.Organizational unit
    B. Master Data
    C. Business scenarios
    <Business scenario for ERP>
    <Business scenario for CRM>
    <Business scenario for EP>
    <Business scenario for DMS>
    <Business scenario for TREX>
    D.Interfaces
    <Applicable interfaces>

    Hi Prakhar,
Thank you for the quick reponse and feel really nice to see you on this queries posted by me. I saw plenty of your threads earlier clarifying so many things on SCN.
I wish to admit that i am new to solution manager. So from the understanding prospective would you confirm that in core you are saying that technically it cant be realized (individual business scenarios for each applicaton type) as you have explained that one scenario runs on different systems. I mean to say SAP doesnt support this that is what you wish to say? This confirmtaion is needed to rule out the option of adjusting business process structure as i am expecting to be.
Also, I have to select business scenario in 'business scenario' and adjust it to run on different systems in under GRAPHIC tab in solar01 provided logical components are mentioned appropriately. I am refering to below link for designing the business process structure
    https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_SHORTKEY=00200797470000089860&_OBJECT=011000358700000910652011E
    Would appreciate your quick response

  • How/where do I get BPR-content for SAP best practices into solar01/solar02?

I am looking to use SAP Solution Manager to perform a blueprint & (parts of) a configuration/realization with a number of SAP ERP best practices as the starting point. Unfortunately the BPR-content for my solman seems to be missing as I cannot find any of the processes defined on http://service.sap.com/bestpractices when scoping the blueprint for my project in solar01. We have ST ICO150 loaded, or so I am told.
Is there additional content out there somewhere so I can add processes/scenarios into solar01 from best practices?

  • Additional fields in SOLAR01

    Hi,
We need to insert extra information at each process step, process, etc.
How do I add an additional tab or additional fields in solar01/solar02?
We do not want to use the keywords or Documents Attributes for this.
Using <b>'process function codes in tabs'</b> and GuiXT I have managed to add screen elements to SOLAR01 screens. However, (for clients reasons) we cannot use GuiXT. I would think I can solve this by using SHD0 instead to add the screen elements. But when I try to create the variant this gives me the error message: Variants are only possible for dialog transactions.
Best scenario would be to be able to add a complete new tab, or add fields to the administration tab.
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Jurjen

    Hello,
Following are the BAdI available. Screen Enhancement should help you to add extra filed on the standard SAP Screen. Look for the documentation of following BAdI. And see, which one suits your requirement.
    BADI_SA_DEFINE_GLOBAL_ATTR
    BADI_SA_HIDE_TYPES_ON_TABS
    BADI_SA_OBJECT_TYPE_ACTIVATION
    SOLAR_DOCUMENT_CHECK_USAGE
    SOLAR_STRUCTURE_TRANSPORT
You can search for these BAdI for documentation in the transaction <i><b>SE18.</b></i>. In the search help for BAdI's give Package as <i><b>AI_SOLAR</b></i> as the search term. And execute. You will get list of BAdIs in your system. If you don't get all above BAdI's then you might need to apply some SAP Notes. Refer SAP on servicemarketplace and get the note details.
Other way is to search from <i><b>SPRO</b></i> transaction IMG Settings suiting your requirements.
    Hope this helps.

  • Documentation: SOLAR01/02 or Solution Directory?

    Dear all:
We are implementing SOLMAN to use change request management and a place to store the documentation, for our live system. Ive been reading a lot the last month trying to understand all the strange concepts about solman, and implement it in the best way, until 2 days ago I thought that documentation should be stored within SOLAR01/02, but yesterday I was reading a blog and it says documentation should be stored at Solution Directory, for a live system like mine.
Anyone could shed light on this?
Hope you can help me guys, I really need help on this!
    Best regards,

    Hi,
The documentation that you do in your SOLAR01/SOLAR02 actually gets stored in Solution Directory (We can call it a repository)

  • Failed to open MS Word in Solution Manager (solar01 and 02)

    Hi!
I would like to use the MS Office integratin issue in the trasnaction codes solar01, solar02.
Unfortunately it is not possible to open and edit the MS Office documents.
All the other documents like .txt or .html can be opened and edited.
Should I apply some setings in SAP or in MS Office to use this issue?
    Thank you

    Dear Axel,
You would need to enable the macros. Reger to OSS Note 611090.
The macros in the central layout template for the SAP MS Excel master template are certified. To be able to use the certificate you have to accept it.  You only have to do this once. When you open an MS Excel document (in the Layout Builder, in the third processing step, for example, or when you start manual planning) choose the option Always trust macros from this source and then Enable Macros in the Security Warningdialog box. You will not be asked again whether macros should be executed.

    Naveen.

  • No direct SPRO in managed system, only via SOLAR01 / 02

    Hi,
Is it possible to prevent users from launching SPRO directly from the managed systems but allow customizing through transaction SOLAR01 / SOLAR02 via Solution Manager?
    Thanks.

    Hi Guys,
We accomplished your exacr requirment by the following:
We lleft the team's SPRO authorization in DEV but blocked them from using it via a BADI thus forcing them to login via SOLAR02, input the IMG object and customize from there.
    Here are the 3 BADIS:
    ZENI_BLOCK_SPRO_IN_DEV_200
    Logical Position: \FU:STREE_EXTERNAL_DISPLAY\SE:BEGIN\EI
    - Block Customization in Dev 200 Environment
    if SY-MANDT = '200' and SY-SYSID = 'ECD'
    and ( SY-TCODE(4) = 'SPRO' or SY-TCODE = 'SST0' ).
    message E172(00) with SY-TCODE.
    endif.
    ZENI_BLOCK_SPRO_IN_DEV_200_A

    - Block Customization in Dev 200 Environment

    message E172(00) with SY-TCODE.

  • How to link a document in Framework

In CWB Home Page there is ability to link to various URL.
I know how to link to a Portal. But I need to link to a Document (Word or PPT) which is located in Shared Servers.
If this is possible , How do I write the full Path which includes the document?

    Hi,
I am not sure whether I understood your requirement clearly.
If you just want to link a document to your service desk message, you can easily attach the document to the "attchmnt" tab of the "notif_create" transaction, if you are using "notif_create" to create your service desk message.
(ii) If you are using "crm_dno_monitor" transaction, then you can upload the document in the "documents" tab of this transaction.
(iii) But, if your requirement is that that you have to upload the document in the Solar01/Solar02 transaction and only have to link to your service desk message, then you can generate the URL of the uploaded document and attach it using the "My Network Places" button of the "Open File" dialog (that comes up by clicking the "export" button of the "attchmnt" tab of the "notif_create" transaction) and specifying the URL in the "File Name" field.
(iv) If the requirement is the same as in (iii), but if you use "crm_dno_monitor" transaction, the same procedure can be followed in the "documents" tab of this transaction or else we can also use the "create URL" button of the documents tab.
Hope you know the procedure for generating the URL of the uploaded document.
Dont forget to reward for useful answers.

  • Change Management and Test Workbench for documentation

    Hi,
I would like some clarification on the association between change requests and test workbench.
I'm going through scenarios such as creating a maintenance project, creating a task list and service message and then creating a transport request.
During these steps, I want to document the test results prior to migrating these transports into the production system.
My questions are - how do you link the maintenance project and also urgent corrections to a test procedure and documentation. It appears that by using solar01/solar02 and stwb_2/stwb_work, these tests are linked to a project and not necessarily a "change request"
I greatly appreciate if you can elaborate the association between the various areas a bit clearer for me.
    Thanks!!!

You need to look for information on usage type "DI", "Development Infrastructure" or "NWDI" (all common abbreviations for the same thing).  There were some very good presentations on NWDI at TechEd this year.

  • How to restrict executing tcodes in transaction tab for master clients

This question applies SOLMAN project implementation tools: SOLAR01, SOLAR02 and so on.
Our ERP2005 development U50 system has two clients:
One is master client 101 where all customizing should take place  but no transactions are allowed
second client 102 works as sandbox client where new customizing can be test and master data and transaction are allowed.
Only U50/101 is defined in Solution manager SMSY in system role 'development system'. Currently U50/102 is not defined in Solution manager to any system role at all.
As configuration should take place via Solution manager,  the consultants use SOLAR01 and SOLAR02 in system role 'development system' meaning that they are connected to U50/101 if want to execute transactions in transaction tabs or IMG nodes in Configuration nodes.
But U50/101 is our MASTER client and no transactions nor most master data are allowed in there. We want to keep it clean. How can I avoid tcodes being executed in system role 'development'. I want to allow consultants use tcodes if they change to system role 'quality system'. But they might forget to change the system role before executing the transaction.
Is there an option in Solution manager Project implementation tools that do not allow tcode launch from transaction tabs when system role is 'development system'.
Of course I can restrict tcode execution with authorizations in satellite systems, but then I would need to disable authorizations for each tcode possibly being used. So I don't like that option.
    br: Kimmo

Okay, I'll continue dialog with myself. I found solution how to assign other clients on one system to other system roles, which are so-called 'customer roles'.
    See solution manager help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/3b/8be61c54d22945837fd69861d21a08/content.htm
I did not know until know, that system roles are actually customizable. The roles with letter P,D,C,T,E, etc. are reserved for SAP but you can create your own system roles into table SMSY_ROLES. You would not do it with SM30, but from tcode SMSY and following menu Utilities-System Settings->tab:System Roles. Switch to change mode. Roles with 0-9 are available for "customer roles". Choose role type and write your own description ( like: Sandbox client in development system ).
Now the new role is available in SMSY. But You cannot see it yet in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN/System Landscape tab. In there you must press button 'System role assignment' and in the opening window add your own 0-9 role defined earlier and save. Now you see your new role in 'system landscape' tab and you can assign systems to it like you had done with SAP standard roles.
Now users using implementation tools can change their current system role to your new 'customer role'.
But what it comes to my original problem (see title), that still remains. I have debugged the tcode execution from transaction tabs and don't see any possible way to avoid tcodes being executed for an unwanted system role. An Enhancement Spot ( =new BADI) can of cource be used for making custom rule for my requirement.
I'll make this thread answered. Hope you joined my self-dialog.
