Extending Wireless--a few questions

I posted a while back about needing to extend wireless coverage to an RV about 60 feet from the current router.  Well, I finally am getting around to it, but still have a few questions.
I have the Westell A90-9100EM 15-10 model.
I've read the "Can I get an ethernet connection in a room with only coax" article.
So I understand I need a splitter, router and extra cable.
Since I have the Westell, does it matter if I buy another of the exact same model or would the Actiontec MI424-WR work just as well?
The part about reconfiguring it has me a bit confused.  Can I hook it up to a laptop to do it, even though I'm receiving wi-fi on that laptop from my present modem?
It sounds like using another Westell involves a bit more configuring, is that correct?  If so, then the Actiontec would probably be a bit easier?
Thank you,
TJ

1)  It does not matter.  Either another Westell or an Actiontec will work.
2)  Connect the laptop to the second router.  Temporarily disable wireless on the laptop so it's only talking to the second router.
3)  Configuration is identical between a Westell and an Actiontec.
Note:  The configuration steps in the FAQ you referenced ONLY apply to the second router.  Never to the primary router.

  • Few questions about Time Capsule

I'm getting a Time Capsule soon & have a few questions:
Could I use my old router (Netgear WNR854T Gigabit) somewhere else in the house to boost the wireless signal?
(My house is very long. The office (where the router is located) is at one end of the house & with my current N router & the signal doesn’t quite reach the other end of the house). If so are there instructions somewhere on setting this up?
Could I run the first Time Machine backup connected via ethernet then once the full backup is complete switch to backing up via AirPort?
If I attach a USB drive could I use Time Machine to backup to the USB drive & leave the storage on board the Time Capsule for other purposes, or can it only backup via Time Machine to the Time Capsule’s default storage?
If I use Time Machine to backup to Time Capsule’s default storage is it possible to partition the disk so that there’s a fixed amount of space allocated to the Time Machine backup. If not is it possible to specify in the settings how much space allocated to the Time Machine backup?
I take it I could set the Time Capsule at N speed & my iPhone will still connect at the G speed right?

    Some issues I can answer:
You cannot use your Netgear to extend the Range. Another Airport would be necessary and it still will be a critical theme. Instructions are easily to locate in the Help of of the AirPort Utility.
Yep, you can run the first BackUp via Ethernet.
I cannot surely answer your questions concerning TimeMachine as I dont use it, eventhough I like my TimeCapsule.
11n supports different modi. There is a 11n modus which will allow your iPhone to
connect, while other modi just allow only 11n devices.
    In general:
Dont expect to much from 11n. Its better than 11g but not that much. I just made tests and ended up, prefering a 100Mbit DLAN connection which was way faster and more reliable than 300Mbit via 11n-only 5Ghz.
'Hope I could help a little bit.

  • Few questions on EB-SUS scenario?

    Dear Experts,
I have few questions on EB-SUS scenario which you may help with your expertise. It will be helpful for those who are new to scenario?
    1. EB (enterpise Buyer or SRM) -SUS scenario is used for requesting external staff? can it be used for non stock or free text items in extended classic? does it support direct material procurement ?
    2. Does EB-SUS or SRM-sus support service item with hierarchy like MM-SUS?
    3. EB-SUS scenario is basically on extended classic or standalone scenario? But, in extended classic scenario, it does support only Purchase order and PO response scenario? What badi's or customization is required to enable the confirmation and invoice for extended scenarios?
Full marks for good answers !!!
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi,
I am also interested in this question with another view of it:
    - Can SUS be used together with SRM (EB) for consumables in standalone scenario?
    - What are your experiences with SUS in general. I foresee that we would need some add-on development to the solution, is this easily done or does it take a lot of effort?
    Thanks for any good input

  • How do I know "Roaming Network" is working with Airport Express and Airport Extreme and should I use extended wireless network for third Express?

Attempting to eliminate a dead spot in Wifi coverage [and implement AirPlay] have one Airport Extreme 802.11n and two Airport Express 802.11n's.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4145
The Airport Extreme is of course connected to cable modem and Ethernet switch, and one Airport Express is connected to the Ethernet network. As per instructions for creating a "Roaming Network", Airport Express is set to same SSID, security type, and Password.
    Questions:
    1. How does the client device know which Airport to connect to? In other words, will it switch to the closer WiFi transmitter automatically? The WiFi reception problem is intermittent in the fringe areas so what I do not want it for it to stick with the more distant Airport Extreme in the basement when the Airport Express which is closer will work better.
    2. How can I tell which of the Airports the attached client device is using?
The third Airport Express will be in a third location - I was planning on using it also for expanding coverage but after reading the warnings about performance suffering when purely using WiFi for the expansion in this location ("Wireless Extended Network" without an ethernet connection) I have figured that the single wired Airport Express will be adequate and will use the third Express to do Airplay only.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259
Question: Can I use this second Airport Express to extend the wireless network via "Extended Wireless Network" while the other two are in "Roaming Netowrk" configuration? Without bogging down??
    Mitch

    1. How does the client device know which Airport to connect to?
The Mac computer will automatically connect to the wireless access point with the strongest signal...which is probably the closest AirPort. An iPhone or iPad may not do this and will tend to stay connected to one AirPort.
    2. How can I tell which of the Airports the attached client device is using?
On a Mac, open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility. Click on one of AirPorts. In the area to the right, locate the AirPort ID and jot that down. Then do the same for your other AirPort.
Move your Mac near one of the AirPorts and log on to the wireless. Hold down the option key on the Mac while you click the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen. Look for the BSSID. That is the AirPort ID of the device to which you are connected.
If you are close to the "remote" AirPort, and you see the AIrPort ID of the "main" router when you are testing, then you know that the network is not configured correctly.
Can I use this second Airport Express to extend the wireless network via "Extended Wireless Network" while the other two are in "Roaming Netowrk" configuration? Without bogging down??
There will be a modest 10-15% bandwidth loss with the "extend" setup, assuming that the Express is located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from the AirPort to which it is associated. You can avoid the bandwidth loss if the Express is also connected via Ethernet as part of the roaming configuration.

  • A few questions regarding my Z10

Still a new user, new to smartphones too,  can't find time to sit with it very much lately...
Here are a few questions I have:
On recharging the phone after I upgraded the OS,  when it was I believe turned off -- I don't think it was on --  I never noticed the green LED that I noticed sometimes while recharging before I upgraded to the latest OS -- it just never seemed to come on green I presume to show a full battery  when I was charging.  Yesterday it did, and I believe my phone was "off"  -- what's the story on that?  Does it just stay on green a short while, then go off? Why sometimes orange/white I think it was, for quite some time, even when it should have been recharged?  I was glad to notice the green yesterday.
I had the Bell store put in the largest of the media cards, and now I want to load up some apps, not junk, I'm not a kid, just solid ones,  and am not sure how to do that...  ahem.  I know.  I would like to pick up the Globe and Mail news one and the CBC news one unless it's already on there, will check on that, to start, and maybe some other which is recommended.  Can I do this over the household WiFi without turning the carrier date access on?  Or can I do it via my laptop -- I did put BlackBerry Link on the computer [actually the Bell tech did at the Bell store] and I have not attempted to use that yet in any way.  Can someone point me to online instructions on this or give me a step-by-step procedure?  I am still "new" as a user...
I would search around myself but have to get a garden set up finished...   perhaps someone has a quick pointer or answer...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Apps:
    Select the 'Blackberry World' icon
If this is your first time, you may have to register and create a blackberry id, follow the instructions.
select the little magnifying glass icon (search)
Type 'cbc' in the search bar
You'll see the various CBC apps.
Select one that you want to look at, select the green 'DOWNLOAD' button
Repeat as required for other apps.
Paid apps will most likely be automatically billed thru your BELL account.
To find the apps after they install, exit BB world.
from the home page, swipe left to see more pages. Newly installed apps will appear on the last page.
Globe News, CBC news, CBC radio, National Geographic, TuneIn Radio, Recipe Box, Native Level, Easy Level, NFB, CBC Hockey Night, CBC Music, CIBC Banking, POYNT, Flashlight LED are all free and very good.
Skype is free, but not great yet.
If you're on wifi, all the downloads will use wifi data.
Most apps are pretty small and don't eat up a lot of your data plan, even if you download over wireless.

  • A few questions about common "issues" before buying New iPad

I am hoping to pick up the new iPad in the next few weeks, however I have read up on some issues which I'd like some information on.
I have been using my GF's iPad 2 a lot and I really love it, however I am dead set on buying the new one, I have become pretty resolution-spoilt by the awesome screen on the 4S and this is the primary factor in wanting this new model.
With the following concerns, assuming that an iPad that I may buy might have one or more of them, could you please inform me of: any currently known official or unofficial fix, if the problem could most likely be resolved in an update or if it is likely that since the problem came to light that the later runs to be built were adjusted to avoid the problem? Thanks.
OK- first up, the bad wifi problem that people have. This is the biggest concern to me, as I use wifi a lot and won't have access to 4G, and only occasionaly access to 3G.
Secondly, the heating... OK this is not a deal breaker, I understand that it isn't a real problem however if it could be solved so that it runs almost as cool as the 2 that would be great.
Thirdly, charge times and the extra hour over 100%... Again I do realise that these aren't so much issues as just the way that it works, however I would hope that now lots of people have complained, an update would adjust the display to be more accurate, to say 100% only when it has fully charged, purely because I would rather know... Or perhaps have 100% change colour on absolute 100%. The other thing, 7 hours charging, is there a more powerful adaptor that 1: reduces the charge time, and 2: if you are using a powerdrinking app while charging, will actualy continue charging rather than just slowing the battery drain (I read that some apps will keep draining battery while on charge).
finaly, I have read about screen hue problems, this wont be too much of a problem, as I will be able to check this in store to be sure that the screen is nice, colour balanced and free of dead pixels, I will compare it to my GFs iPad 2 and also the iPhone 4, because I know that the iPad 2 is supposed to look a little more blue to give it a cold feel, while the new model and the iPhone 4S have a slightly yellowed screen for warmth, it's just that lots of people have complained about theres' being too yellow.
Thanks very much for any useful info on this.

A lot of the posts about lack of charging is because iPad "3" users are trying to use an iPod charger, iPhone charger or connected to their computer where they get the "Not Charging" indication. A few others had a defective charger that was replaced by Apple. It remotely possible that a few iPads have defective batteries or charging circuits.
Many of the wifi connection problems are related to the users brand of wireless routers, the router setup, or the need to select a different wireless channel due to interference.
The high temp problem seems to be when users are charging AND running games with intensive graphics. The display on the new iPad takes a lot more power than the iPad 2 display.
Overall I would guess that the chance of a defective iPad is less than 1%.

  • A few questions about Patone colors

I have a few questions about patone colors since this is the first time I use them. I want to use them to create a letterhead and business cards in two colors.
    1)
I do understand that the uncoated is more washed out than the coated patone colors. I heard that this is because the way paper absorbs the inkt. This is why the same inkt results in different colors on different paper (right?). My question is why is the patone uncoated black so much different than normal black (c=0 m=0 y=0 k=100) or rich black:
When I print a normal document with cmyk, I can get pretty dark black colors. Why is it that I cannot have that dark black color with patone colors? Even text documents printed on a cheap printer can get a darker color than the Patone color. It just looks way too grey for me.
    2) For a first mockup, I want to print the patone colors as cmyk (since I put like 10 different colors on a page for fast comparison). I know that these cmyk colors differ from the patone colors and that I cannot get a 100% representation. But is there a way to convert patone to cmyk values?
I hope that some of you can help me out with my questions.
    Thanks.

You can get Pantone's CMYK tints in Illustrator, (Swatches Panel > Open Swatch Library > Color Books > PANTONE+ Color Bridge Coated or Uncoated) but in my view, what's the point?  If you're printing to a digital printer, just use RGB (HSB) or CMYK. Personally, I never use Pantone's CMYK so-called "equivalents."
Pantone colors are all mixed pigmented inks, many of which fluoresce beyond the gamut limits of RGB and especially CMYK. The original Pantone Matching System (PMS) was created for the printing industry. It outlined pigmented ink formulations for each of its colors.
Most digital printers (laser or inkjet) use CMYK. The CMYK color gamut is MUCH SMALLER than what many mixed inks, printed on either coated or uncoated papers can deliver. When you specify non-coated Pantone ink in AI, according to Pantone's conversion tables, AI tries to "approximate" what that color will look like on an uncoated sheet, using CMYK. -- In my opinion, this has little relevance to real-world conditions, and is to be avoided in most situations.
If your project is going to be printed on a printing press with spot Pantone inks, then by all means, use Pantone colors. But don't trust the screen colors; rather get a Pantone swatch book and look at the actual inks on both coated and uncoated papers, according to the stock you will use on the press.
With the printing industry rapidly dwindling in favor of the web and inkjet printers, Pantone has attempted to extend its relevance beyond the pull-date by publishing (in books and in software alliances, with such as Adobe) its old PMS inks, and their supposed LAB and CMYK equivalents. I say "supposed" because again, RGB monitors and CMYK inks can never be literally equivalent to many Pantone inks. But if you're going to print your project on a printing press, Pantone inks are still very relevant as "spot colors."
I also set my AI Preferences > Appearance of Black to both Display All Blacks Accurately, and Output All Blacks Accurately. The only exception to this might be when printing on a digital printer, where there should be no registration issues.
Rich black in AI is a screen phenomenon, unless in Prefs > Appearance of Black, you also specify "Output All Inks As Rich Black," -- something I would NEVER do if outputting for an actual printing press. I always set my blacks in AI to "Output All Blacks Acurately" when outputting for a press. If you fail to do this, then on the press you will see any minor registration problems, with C, M, and Y peeking out, especially around black type.  UGH!
    Good luck!  :+)

  • A few questions on switching from my powermac G5 to a 17" macbook pro

Hi, picking up at used macbook pro on monday(Apple MacBook Pro MA611LL/A 17" Notebook PC (2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD SuperDrive)
I'm going to use it as my main machine with an external keyboard and mouse hooked up, along with an external 23" cinema display in extended desktop mode. Then when I need to work somewhere else I'll just unplug it and go.
A few questions from a new macbook user:
    • What's the best way to migrate all my apps, data, photos, etc. Should I use migration assistant? I'm a web designer with dozens of small apps that I may not have the installers for but would like to do a fresh install of the ones I have like CS3. With migration assistant can I just pick some apps to move over, or do they all move over and does it transfer the registration info in case I misplaced certain serial numbers?
    • I'll be selling my desktop, I know you can only install CS3 on one machine, how do I get the CS3 "unactivated" on my Desktop so I can install it on the macbook pro? I own the copy of CS3 and have the dvd's and such.
    • I have a TON of Dreamweaver sites defined, whats the simpleist way to transfer the site info over so I don't have to track down all of that ftp info for every site?
    • I have over a year of Time Machine backups on my current desktop machine, do I transfer those over somehow so my macbook reads them or is it just better to start over with a fresh time machine backup?
    • Will I have any issues with my Iphone or appletv with itunes thinking I'm authorizing a new computer but I'm really only going to be having one machine?
    • The person I'm buying it from is doing a clean install of the system, when I get it should I go ahead and do a fresh Leopard install just to make sure its done properly, and if so is there are there "best practices" on doing that?
    • Any other tips or advice?
Thanks in advance, I know thats a lot of questions?
    Jeff

  • Few questions about the iMac I ordered.

    Hi,
I ordered an 400MHZ,128MB,DVD-ROM,13GB,OS9,2FW,2USB slotloading iMac and while I wait for it I want to ask a few questions.
    1. Is there anyway to connect anything serial to it? I have alot of other Apple stuff like my other older Macs and Newton that I want to connect to it.
    2. Will Tiger run smoothly with 512MB? How about 256MB?
    3. Can I upgrade the processor? Like to a 500MHZ or better a GHZ?
    4. I have disks from my previous iMac (Slot Loading) will they work with this one?
    5. I need firmware updates! Where to get them?
    6. No floppy? Can I get an external?
    7. How much fater then a 604ev 300MHZ?
    8. Can I run a game that requires a 1 GHZ processor on my iMac? This may sound like a silly question but I really never tried it!
    9. Is it noisy like my PowerMac 8600/300?
    10. Can I upgrade it to OS 9.2.2 without MacOShelper?
    11. It has OS 9.0.4 can I just install OS 9.2.2 without the need of installing OS 9.1,OS 9.2.1?
    12. Is the HDD upgradable? To what?
    13. VRAM is going to be a problem! Can I upgrade it?
    14. Can I connect a VGA or APPLE monitor to it for an extra display?
    15. Will the built in monitor support 800x600,1024x768 resolution?
    16. Can I change the color of it?
    17. Max RAM?
    18. DVD-RW compatible?
    19. Internal floppy compatible?
    20. CD-RW compatible?
Thanks all You dont need to answer them all just answer as many as you can please!

    1) you can get serial to USb adaptors. How well they work I can't vouch for. If its something that is replaceable by a newer version, its often cheaper to do so.
    2) 256 megs is about the minimum it will run with. 512 would be much better, 1 gig of ram would be best. see ramseeker.com and crucial.com
    3) fastmac.com is the only place I know of that does any upgrades on slot loaders anymore. its expensive, and not worth it. If you wanted a faster machine, you should have bought one frankly. a used eMac could be gotten cheap and be better in every way.
    4) depends. if they are form the same generation, then yes. If not, then it could be questionable.
    5) firmware updates are easily accesible from apples software download section of their support page. you need firmware update 4.1.9 for a slot loader, and it must be installed before installing OS X.
    6) Do you really need a floppy? Cripes, get a USB keychain drive. They are like 20 bucks and will work on any machine. Hold way more than a floppy to and are smaller. If you really need them, then yes, floppy drives are available externally.
    7) hard to quantify exactly how much faster, but a G3 is a much better chip than the 604 from all accounts I've read. you might find benchmarks somewhere like xlr8yourmac.com
    8) Doubtful you can run a game where you don't meet the minimum specs. Not just because of the processor speed, but some require G4's (G3's never made it that fast), or better graphics cards than are in that iMac.
    9) a slot loader is essentially silent when sleeping. There's no fan to make a lot of noise. S light hum form the CRT and the hard drive is all the noise there will be. Its one of the quietest machines ever made by anyone.
    10) I don't even know what macoshelper is, but upgrading to 9.2 is a pretty painless procedure and doesn't require anything other than the downloaded upgrade.
    11) you need 9.1 before going to 9.2 unless you have a full retail install of 9.2.
    12) hard drive i upgradeable to 137 gigs. 7200 rpm drives are fine. external drives have no limit on them.
    13) vram is not upgradeable.
    14) that model iMac has a vga port on the back of it, but its for mirroring only, not extended desktop.
    15) yes, the monitor supports both those resolutions.
    16) not easily. you'd have to find an empty case and swap out parts, which means exposing some of the stuff in the CRT, which you do NOT want to mess with unless you know what you are doing.
    17) max ram is two 512 meg chips for 1 gig.
    18) DVD-RW's should work, but any burned media can be dodgy. Note this is for reading only. There's no burner. You could upgrade to a burner, but it would be sssssllllllooooooowwwwwwww.
    19) internal floppy is not possible.
    20) cd-rw will read fine, but again, it doesn't have a burner on it. You could upgrade internal or external.

  • New T530 a few questions

I have a new T530 and just have a few questions.. (ok its at home as of typing this so some i can't test right away)
Swapping the fn and ctrl keys, from research I can do this from the bios, correct?
Is there a way to use the wireless switch to disable just bluetooth? or is this a bios setting as well? (yes I know i could disable in the device manager)
Is there a way to have the backlight on the keyboard turn on when using the keyboard rather than having to manually turn it on everytime?
also i have 16GB ram in this machine, but it appears some gets taken for the intel graphics, though I do have the nvidia NVS graphics option. is there a way to disable the intel portiion so i gain this ram back? (agreed, this is more of me complaining than a question)
last, I currently have the intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 (2x2 BGN) card, and was interested in upgrading to the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN, can i just get one from any store? or do i need the "lenovo" model. I would like to get th 6300 but it appears to have just 2 connectors instead of 3.
    Thanks

You can do this with Fn-F5 (user's guide, P23) (English) User Guide
The pop-up menu will give you the option to enable/disable wifi and/or bluetooth.  Is that what you were looking for?

  • Bought Refurbished MacBook Pro.  A few question...

Ok, so I got a refurbished MacBook Pro because I've been using a Powerbook G4 for 5 years. I'm glad the look hasn't changed since the new ones are basically identical. I have a 17" now and am replacing it with another 17", but I have a few questions.
I save $600 on the refurbished one. Are refurbished units reliable?
Also, are the newer MacBooks much better than the previous iterations? The specs of the refurbished one are: 2.33GHz, ATI Radeon X1600 256MB, 2GB Ram, 160GB HD 5400RPM, 8x DVD Superdrive. But the newer systems are 2.4GHz and have the new Nvidia card. The new one is $600 more. Are those two components worth the extra $600?
    Thanks for any answers!

The vast majority of refurbs are in fact new and, for whatever reason, are no longer able to be sold as new by Apple Stores (or whichever reseller they came from). These include returns, exchanges for other products (like a better MBP) etc etc and some are lucky to get CTOs with unexpected upgrades. As things go these perform like any other new product.
However, there are some units that have been returned for technical/hardware issues which are subsequently repaired and then put into the refurb chain. Some of these do continue to be problematic although I don't bvelieve it's a high percentage.
overall most seem to be very happy with their refurb purchase especially given it comes with Apple's standard one year warranty and are eligible for Apple Care extended warranty.
As for comparing to the current 2.4GHz MBP, it really depends on what you intend on doing with it whether it is worth the extra cash so that's rather difficult to answer.

  • A few questions on N810 before buying one

    Hey All!
I am planning to gift N810 to my brother and I have a few questions. I have been doing some research on the following questions I feel there is a mixed feeling amongst users.
How good is N810 to be used as a multimedia player?
Some of the reviewers on Amazon.com say that if someone wants to use N810 primarily as a multimedia player, then he/she should look for something else. What are your experiences?
How good is the video quality? How is the audio playback?
I understand that video player is not as intuitive as other players like iPod Touch. Is this a deal breaker?
I have also seen some youtube video reviews that say that web browsing/ web page loading is not quick. Now assuming that internet would be primarily used for checking emails and sending one liner replies and using meebo for messaging, how does the device perform for these uses?
Can you use webcam on meebo for video chat?
My brother would use the device as a multimedia player + email + chat (video chat on google chat would be a bonus) For these uses how much would you rate N810 on the scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best.
How would you rate it against iPod Touch 8 GB 2nd generation?
    Thanks much for your time!

I owned the N810 for about a month and I liked it a lot. However, the main thing I used it for was the RSS feeder on the homescreen. I would prop it up on my desk at work and just glance over to get all the interesting updates from various websites I follow. The second thing I used it for was web browsing and the third was using it for Rhapsody.
Now, I have to say where I was very disappointed was video playback and music playback, so I don't think you will like it. I downloaded a very low quality episode of a tv show from google video and it could barely play it back without constantly freezing and playing flash videos like youtube was generally the same. But I think what really bothered me was the scrolling through web pages because I would constantly trigger links, accidentally opening new pages anfd then taking forvever to get back to where I was. The music playback was disappointing because I own Nokia bluetooth stereo headphones and it's not compatible with that. I was able to connect them but the sound so atrocious it was unlistenable. So, I can only recommend it if you don'tplan on browsing sites that have flash video, or want to listen to music wirelessly, and video playback in general is very poor. But if youy want a three hundred dollar RSS feeder then I can recommend it. In all honesty, I got it because I was disappointed with the web browsing on my N95 and since I have replaced it with the 5800 it makes up for those problems, so if anything get that instead.

  • Wireless WRT54GS speedbooster question

    Hello everyone.
I have a few questions if someone could give me some answers. I'm using Vista Ultimate. I've got to tackle  installing the router again since I have a different computer and then I'll have to set up networks to other computers here (3) actually. But I have had my wireless speedbooster for a year and now got to go through the whole process again. My question is why do they call it wireless when you have to plug in cables? What is the wireless part suppose to consist of? Someone came to my house this past weekend and said something about it and it did make me wonder about that.
And how far can you actually set another computer to your network. Is it only in your household location or can you let someone 10 minutes away to network with you or add them on your network.
I tried to search for the wireless question but I couldn't find it and I did go under general question but for some reason couldn't find a new message so I could ask. It's been very aggravating and I didn't remember it being this aggravating before. Also I've read here that I don't have to install the router through the CD. I have tried to do that on these vista windows which I hate and I'm going to install windows 7 over this when I get the chance but I got to tackle one thing at a time. You'll never know if you don't asking tried to connect the router and computer using the CD it goes through the whole thing but never really configures it but then it was very very slow after that so it must have done something. So  now it's not even plugged  in or connected at all. Ever since I disconnected and connected my DSL back to my computer I have these issues  whenever I cut my computer it telling me these message. When booting up 1-"cannot communicate with DNS 208 104 244 45 network diagnosis pinged the remote host with no response". And this message "windows confirmed that primary DNS server is currently online but is not responding windows confirmed that primary DNS server is currently online but is not responding at this time this usually means the firewall is running between the two and computers (I have only one connected at all at home for now!) and blocking the domain. Windows have confirmed that the firewall on computer is confirmed correctly to allow this connection but however a firewall is blocking your connection". Can anyone guide me somewhere or give me links to follow because I have a serious cornea infections and hoping that I haven't lost my eyesight in one eye and I'm not suppose to be on the computer to let my eye rest.
Any help would be very much appreciated very much
    Thanks, Harley123

The Router which you have its an 4 Port Ethernet / Wireless Router. Well its not necessary to Hardwired your computer always to the Router. Once your Router is Configured properly, then you don't need to connect your computer, you can use all the computers Wirelessly and they all will be able to go online... Just for an Initial Setup you need to Hardwired your computer to the Router, Once its done then you need to unplug the Ethernet cable from your Computer and your computer should be able to go online wirelessly.
The wireless signals of your Router can go upto 80 to 100fts, Not beyond that. As you have mentioned that you want to share the connection with some who is 10min away from your Place, then its Impossible.
There are 2 different ways to configure your Router, Using the Setup Disk or Configuring all the settings on your Router Manually.
Whenever you connect your Modem to your Computer and if you face that problem just you need to Unplug the power from the Modem wait for 10sec and replug to the power to your Modem and check if you are Online.
Windows Vista has Many issue while connecting to Internet. Sometimes you get all the information on your computer and your computer is properly connected, but the Vista computer doesn't let you go Online.

  • First site, almost done, a few questions...

Hi all. I'm nearing the end (I hope) of my first flash site
    and have a few questions.
Most pressing - I've hit a wall on this error #1009 at frame
    1. I've read a bit online and and understand what it is, I just
can't figure out what I've left out. Code is attached.
Each label in the code refers to a label on my main timeline.
At the end of each animation I have gotoAndPlay(nextIntro). All of
the animation is located within the same scene. It seems pretty
straightforward but I'm clearly missing something.
On a related note, what is the best way to create large flash
projects with lots of animation? I've laid everything out
chronologically within a single scene. This seems like it will
work, also seems like it could get messy as projects got larger. Is
there a best practice or some reading online regarding this
    subject?
Help on my error would be FANTASTIC. Insight on general
philosophy/structure would also be much appreciated. :)

    The full error is:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
    a null object reference.
    at portfolio21test_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
The code extends from frame 1 to frame 29. At that point we
have a stop(); then the outro plays. The last frame of the outro
    has code stating gotoAndPlay(nextIntro);
From this point on, the other scenes in the movie have intros
without any code since they just need to play. This is followed by
    a stop(); keyframe at their midpoint and gotoAndPlay(nextIntro);
keyframe at the last frame of their outro.
In recent tests, I'm not getting the error when the file
first loads. I only get the error when I click on the button
instance "main_btn". I can click on that button as soon as the
movie loads and get the error, or I can click around to the other
frame labels without the error, then click main_btn and get the
    error...
Would a screenshot of my timeline (or anything else) be
    helpful?

  • RF Transactions LM##....Few Questions

    Hi Folks,
One of our client wants RF integration with SAP, mainly for warehouse related activities .
We have suggested him ITS approach .
Few questions I am having :
    1. Are LM## - RF transactions enough to cater the full warehouse process ? Is any LM transaction exists for bin to bin movement ?
    2. If LM transactions are not able to solve our full purpose . what should be the ideal approach for extending the solution?
    3. Do we need to create the html template and services for all RF transactions - LM## ? or just by creating the service and template of LM00 will work ? As i can see just by creating ITS service of LM00 we areable to access the all transactions
    4. Lay out is coming in different fashion in different devices ? How to solve this issue ?
    5. What are the areas needs to be looked on at development time for ITS approach .
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Regarding your questions:
    1) the existing LM transaction cover the WM processes in basic. In practice, new transaction and new screens are developed. There is no standard LM transaction for bin-bin movement, so you need to develop this yourselfs.
    2) get an ABAP'er and develop the transactions and screens yourself (happens all the time);
    3) I've only used SAPconsole, in that case you install SAPconsole and a Telnet server. Then your'e done and you can start up LM00 (I've only used character based hardware)
    4) & 5), no answer.
