Extension from files deleted when renaming in batch

Hello!
When i rename files in batch in Bridge CS6 the extension from my files is deleted, leaving me with exec files. Sometimes the new name is given but the extension dissapears and other times the new name i wanted to give my files appears in place of the extension.
I have had this problem for a while in combination with a cache problem (every time when opening bridge it asked me to purge the cache). I seemed to be solved by renaming the cache folder cache_old and creating a new one but now the batch renaming problem has returned.
Anyone knows why this happens and how to solve it?

On a side note, the tutorial I followed was the one that came with the plugin. Specifically I'm referring to the following file:

I have the same problem (deleted email account). I think I mistakenly set up an account when I was buying an Apple product online, not realizing that it would be the same ID as my iTunes.
What is the way to actually contact Apple?

Original Files Deleted When Added to iTunes

If I have a folder of mp3s for a full album, when I open an mp3 in iTunes to be copied to my iTunes folder, the original mp3 file dissapears. However, when I open an mp3 that is by itself in a folder in iTunes to be copied, the original file remains there. Does anyone know why?

OK I have done some more work and think i have the issue resolved. The problem lies with file formats specifically .mp4 and .m4v
I suspect the files you are importing are mp4 files. When I do this i get the same behaviour of file names changing their name after playback. When i convert my files to m4v format and import the issue disappears.

First you have to purchase Snow Leopard, 10.6, from the Apple on-line store for $20. Install and on-line software update from the disk version to the last of the line, 10.6.8.
Then determine if you can go to Mountain Lion, http://www.apple.com/osx/specs and if you can go to the App Store and purchase for $20 the download of 10.8.3.
If you cannot go to ML, see if you can go to Lion, 10.7.5, do you have an Intel Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor at least 2 GB ram and 7 GB free hard drive space. If so you can purchase a download code for Lion from 1-800-MY-APPLE for $20.
If you can use Mountain Lion, skip the Lion step and go directly to ML.

Excel files deleted when not found

I am using the Report Generation toolkit for Microsoft Office. I have a vi that opens a template, renmaes it, saves it, and writes to an Excel file. The file is then saved again before the vi exits.
The problem is if the Excel file is accidently closed, then the vi closes and tries to save the excel file, it deletes the file that was saved. This seems to happen in the NI_Excel.lvclassave Report to File.vi, and comes up with error -2147417848 The first three case structures are false, which leads to the close and delete file subvis. I thought I could get remove the delete file vi, but I can not rename the subvi (...save report to file) to do this. This problem is causing me to lose product data.
How can I either make a copy of the sub vi, or prevent the subvi from deleteing the file if the file is not open?

According to this KnowledgeBase Article: Close Microsoft Excel While Running Report Generation Toolkit it is recommended programming practice to catch and handle the resulting error if the user attempts to quit Microsoft Excel mid-execution. In no way will NI recommend editing its shipping VIs.

Photoshop Elements 12 is failing to add the jpg extension to file names when I "save as" even though the jpg format is selected in the drop-down list

I've just been following my normal workflow and all of a sudden my saved files don't have the jpg extension. I'm not having this problem in other photo editing software I use. I haven't changed any settings. Anybody else have this problem?

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder.
(1) If the file appears in the Downloads manager (Tools menu or Ctrl+j), you can right-click it and use Open Containing Folder to get directly to it.
(2) To be able to see hidden folders on Windows XP in general, try this:
Open My Computer or Windows Explorer
Tools > Folder Options > View tab
Scroll down and look for the checkbox regarding hidden files and folders and unhide them.
Hopefully this will resolve the issue. Any luck?
(3) By the way, you may be able to save the images from the email message to a more convenient location by right-clicking the links and using Save Link As. (Before you open them for editing.)

How do I stop Automator from reordering photos when renaming them?

I'm attempting to use Automator to rename picture files. I select "Make Sequential" and put the name in that I want. However, once everything is completed my pictures are not in the same order they were out of the camera. I like how my camera imports the photos in the order that I took them. Now when I look through my pictures my vacation is completely out of chronological order. How do can I set Automator so that this does not happen in the future?

Add 'Sort Finder Items' before the Rename Finder Items.

I was just curious. My desktop manager had an issue and i downloaded the new version from the website, but it won't even start the setup. I may need to uninstall so its fresh, but all I have are my backup files, will they delete too?

RH9 crash and files deleted when moving/deleting content in Project Manager pod

Hello,
I've had an ongoing issue, across RH 8 and 9, with trying to manage my content using the Project Manager pod. The issue has occurred w/ two basic processes: creating new folder structures in PM and then moving files from one folder to another; deleting files from the project entirely.
The outcome is that RH crashes w/ a generic "RoboHelp has encountered a problem" error message, and one or more topics are deleted from the project entirely. If the topic is in the TOC, the placeholder is still there, but it's not connected to any topic.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is this a known bug and/or is there a suggested fix?

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

Please HELP!! I am a new iphone user and I am not understanding all this "icloud" stuff. I have "Contacts" turned off in my phone's icloud settings and on my computer's icloud settings. The original photstream instructions, and the current photostream information page on the apple website, say that photos on your pc or mac computer that have been synced by photostream are permanent but the latest updatge seems to have changed that so when items are deleted from any device they are deleted from all devices, including images that have gotten older and have rolled out of photostream on my iphone. I trusted photostream to save these images on my computer and now they appear to be gone. Can I turn off the option of deleting photostream images from my computer or do I need to copy these images to another folder to save them from being deleted when they are deleted from the device.
