Extension Manager 5.5 crashes on start up. Fresh install and fully patched.

Also, all previous versions of extension manager have ceased working as well. They all go straight to an error report on start up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Contents of error log:

Have you installed a Firefox plug-in: Flash firebug? If yes, please uninstall it then retry. It conflicts with Extension Manager CS5/5.5. (Not checked whether it conflicts with Extension Manager CS4)
You can also move all files under "/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust" and "/Users/<YourUserName>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#Security/FlashPlayerTrust" elsewhere temporarily to see whether the problem can be solved.

Extension Manager 5.5 crashes after one second. I need to create a barcode for indesign; bought software that says you can create it directly in InDesign. But I can't open the .xzp file. It opens the Extension Manager which instantly crashes with the message "Extension Manager quit unexpectedly." I've tried it many times. I tried re-intalling AdobeExtensionManager5.5All.dmg,but when I click on the "install" icon, I get, “Install.app” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image."
I'm stuck in an endless loop. Please help, I have a deadline due today. I'm running 10.8.5.

You have to update Extension Manager CS5.5 to 5.5.3. You can get the 5.5.3 patch from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_updates/.

I've successfully installed Photoshop Elements 9 on my iMac (Intel) running the 10.6.3 and 4GB of RAM. After I go past the "Use as a trial" screen (and I skip the login step), it proceeds to load the app -- but crashes.
The Error log contains no apparent clues. I've un-installed and re-installed the app. I've repaired permissions. I have plenty of space on my Hard Drive ( more than 20% free space). So I'm stumped.

Hey everyone,
The reason this MAY be happening could be due to prior installs of Elements Trial or even PS Trial. Adobe has a free download that may fix the issue:

So follow these instructions, then re-install the software and it should work. Maybe. It got CS3 working for me (since PS9 wasn't going to cut it for me anyway).

Many applications CRASHING on start up after installing security updates

I recently ran a software update and installed a bunch of updates, probably 2-3 for Mac OS X (security update) and an iTunes one and all the Final Cut Studio updates. After doing this I've been having a lot of problems with programs crashing on start up. Two programs that come to mind are Apple's Motion and the "Stickies" program included in OS X. Is there any way to fix this without re-installing the entire operating system?!

Thanks for the advice baltwo; I followed the suggestions provided in the link and installed Preferential Treatment but the problem is still present with the application "stickies". It doesn't seem to be a preferences issue, since it is exclusive to one account. I tried copying over the StickiesDatabase file from my account to another and then opening stickies only to find it fails to launch in the other account as well. It seems like my StickiesDatabase file may be corrupted? Is there anyway to recover the information in this file?! My main concern right now is just recovering the notes I made in the Stickies.
Btw, I repaired all permissions and did a lot cache clearing and system optimizing and clean up using ONYX, no improvement afterwards.
One other thing: Most other apps are working fine with the exception of a certain project file in Motion 3 crashing on start up..but that's not my primary concern right now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I installed FF 4 and now the excellent Maxa Cookie Manager software won't work. Can I install and older version of FF over FF4? I could just uninstall 4.0 and re-install 3.* but I don't want to loose all my bookmarks.

Maxa Cookie Manager software no longer records cookies since I installed FF4. So what will happen if I install FF 3.* over FF4?

Itunes has crashed.
Can't be reinstalled.
The software update won't work, neither will disk utility.
Removing the .dmg files hasnt helped.
Any suggestions?

[Solved] X11 won't start after fresh install

Hihi!
I've been using Debian for quite some time now but I want to switch to Arch. My notebook is fairly modern and this doesn't mix well with Debian and as such my dGPU is basically unusable. My preferred method of installing Debian is to start headless so I felt quite at home with Arch and got through the install just fine, but I'm having problems launching Openbox among other hardware related issues. I spent yesterday googling and attempting fixes but came up with nothing, so I had to reinstall Debian as I was counting on having a usable computer at the end of the day. I did write down the messages I was getting though, hopefully they are enough to diagnose the issue. My hardware:
AMD A10-5750M (8650G graphics)
AMD Radeon 8970M 2GB
The kernel was the one in the very latest install snapshot (3.12-9 or something)
The first thing I noticed after booting into the fresh install was a warning along these lines
[drm:r600_dma_ring_test] radeon: ring 3 test failed
I ignored it, and preceeded to install the following packages
xorg-server
xorg-utils
xorg-xinit
mesa
xf86-video-ati
openbox
openbox-themes
other things related to the UI I wanted
The ring 3 test warning still occured on reboot after installing X and the radeon drivers. Again I ignored it. My .xinitrc was simply exec openbox-session
I ran startx and it failed, and got a bunch of errors that began right after a reference to "radeon" and the kernel. My xorg log did not get far at all. In fact the last lines were
(II) config/udev: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0)
(II) config/udev: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card1)
And that was literally the end of the log. This is clearly a GPU/driver issue, probably with the 8970M as card1 seems to be the last line? Any help is appreciated
edit: This is the same process I use to install Debian, and using this exact same kernel (plus the Debian patches) I can start X just fine. my dGPU is unusable with the FOSS drivers through as there is no glamor support in Debian. I get segfaults whenever I launch something with DRI_PRIME=1 after setting the 8970M as the offload provider

Ok I installed fresh and had the same issues as last time. With KMS early start I still have the same problems launching X and I still have the ring 3 test error (it just appears earlier).
There is nothing pure text in /var/log, I don't know if theres a way to use systemd with wgetpaste, so I took a picture that is hopefully not to difficult to read. I tried to sharpen it up a bit in GIMP.

I also noticed that I get that ring 3 error even when I boot up the Arch installer via USB. I wonder if I should try an older image with an older kernel?

ITunes crashes on start up since installed Ace Media CodecS pack

First post and if truth to be told iv never had to use the support forums at Apple before because everything normally goes swimmingly well. But now im in dire need of assistance
Basically, I did one of the most silliest things I could have done and in an effort to get Audio to play on a .avi file I downloaded 'Ace MegaCodecS'
Looking in the installation file I just selected everything and whilst some programs failed to work - a quick uninstall of it seemed to do the trick.
But itunes has posed a problem somewhat.
Initially I couldnt install it or uninstall it. I even had the same 'fatal error' on Quicktime. But after using Windows Install Clean Up I managed to install Quicktime first and then iTunes.
But still the problem persists... I try and load up itunes and it comes back with an error and if I try and load of Quicktime? It comes back with a 'Buffer Overrun detected'
This is the error message for iTunes:

I love using iTunes, I keep all my music on there and because of doing this, I believe I have lost my statistical data but thats neither here nor there...I would love to get it back without having to format my hard drive from scratch.

I have just installed the Adobe Web Premium CS5 addition (twice) and on trying to launch Adobe bridge stand alone and through other products the bridge screen opens and displays a dialog box stating "do you want Adobe bridge to start at logon..." and then shuts down again.
This is on Windows XP Professional machine and I have not been able to find a solution of fix. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Have you tried to reset preferences? And no you do not have to start Bridge to do this.,
Hold down the Ctrl key and start Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 options. Choose all 3.

Firefox crashes upon start up in normal and safe mode

Can't open firefox in either mode, it immediately gives me a crash report pop-up

Did you try to download FF10 with another browser and install it over your current FF version?

FF crashes on start up after install

FF crashes on startup, no page displayed. Crashes in Safe mode.
Un-install, re-install gives same result. Crash report is too obtuse for me to understand.

Hey everyone,
The reason this MAY be happening could be due to prior installs of Elements Trial or even PS Trial. Adobe has a free download that may fix the issue:
http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
So follow these instructions, then re-install the software and it should work. Maybe. It got CS3 working for me (since PS9 wasn't going to cut it for me anyway).

Q: I did not see my product in Extension Manager, but I am sure I have it installed.

Launch "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS", input "BridgeTalk.__diagnostics__;" in source window, and click "Run" button. The diagnostics result will be shown in "JavaScript Console" window. Check if paths of products are correct. Remove corresponding products and install them again if their paths are incorrect.

I am currently creating a webpage in Dreamwever cs3 and have run across an interesting problem. When I preview the page in a browser, everything looks exactly the way I want it, but for some reason, when I return to design mode, I can no longer see the image or the table. I can see in the code that it is there, but I can't see it in design mode. It is a page that I will be updating frequently Any ideas?I

Xorg does not start on fresh install

Hi,
I followed the steps on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide
I managed to finish the install successfully, but startx gives me a headache.

Hardware: HP Pavilion DV6000 with an NVidia card. Using 64 bit installation.
Any idea what went wrong?

Your video drivers aren't being loaded properly. Are you trying to use the nvidia or nouveau drivers? Personally I'd recommend the latter to start. Which driver packages did you install? The following command will tell you if you aren't sure:
pacman -Qs xf86-video

Ohasd not starting after fresh install

Hi,
I have installed Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production With the Real Application Clusters and Automatic Storage Management options on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64) 11.0.
After installation all cluster and resources were up, I could log in to database. I have restarted orcl1 node, and after boot the ohasd service is not started. Same is with orcl0 node. When I start manually, the cluster comes up. See below:

I have changed /etc/init.d/ohasd file so that it 'logs' to /tmp time when invoked (see below the code). After reboot there is no record of startup /tmp/ohasd*

ORACLE instance don't start on fresh installed operation system

I installed Oracle 10g Express Edition Unicode (10.2.0.1.0) on a new installed MS Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard SP2 32bit german.
All works fine. The Application Express Login was accessable thru http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
But after a few reboots I cannot acces Oracle's apex site any longer. And all I changed was to install MS .NET Framework 3.5.
Since 8 am I'm searching a solution. I've read a lot of posts and articles that have the same problem with accessing the apex site, talking about ports, firewalls, log entries, the OacleXETNSListener. I checked it all but I didn't find a solution.
But what I noticed is that my instance is not running after a reboot. (I try it with several new installations of Windows and Oracle and it is reproducable). If I do "connect / as sysdba" I get the message "Connected to an idle instance.".
I've realized that I'm not the first person who is affected -> e.g. http://www.dbforums.com/oracle/1619995-service-started-but-databse-not-running.html
How can these happen when the system is completely new installed?
Be aware that I'm not an Oracle Database professional (today morning I was a totaly newbie. I never worked with Oracle Databases before). So maybe the solution is really trivial. But I am finished. Help me please. Please! :)

If I log in with */ as sysdba* the message is "Connected to an idle instance.". If I type startup in the console the ORACLE instance starts up, like sb92075 wrote in post 2. After that the apex site is reachable (The site http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex. Is it called apex site? I'm not sure.).
But If I restart the computer I have to do it again.

I'm not sure, how I can find the service tab. Do you mean the services in Windows -> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services?
There, the services OracleServiceXE and OracleXETNSListener start automaticly. OracleJobSchedulerXE is disabled. OracleMTSRecoverySercice and OracleXEClrAgent start manually.
Or is it an option in an Oracle configuration?
