Extension manager 6.0.7 windows 8 hangs installing extensions

It spins and spins forever
when I try to echo  > ExManLog.YES in
program files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS6
I get an Access is Denied  error as well

Are you installing extension from local zxp file or from Exchange Panel?
You have to run Command prompt as administrator.

  • Problem with Adobe Extension Manager CC. Does not show installed extensions.

Adobe Extension Manager CC does not show installed extensions for Photoshop CC 2014 or Photoshop CC so that I am unable to uninstall extensions.  This means that I cannot install updates to extensions.

Hi JJ - thank you for getting back to me.  I got onto an Adobe tech and we tried various things including re-installation of Extension Manager, which didn't fix the problem.  We then updated Photoshop (I was one point release back) then re-installed EM and this has fixed the problem.
I did check online and quite a number of people seem to have had this problem, so I guess Adobe has fixed whatever bug was in there.
    Thanks!

Hi, whenever I open Dreamweaver CS5 I get this message:
Adobe Extension Manager loops with the following message:
“The Extension Manager will now launch and finish updating Dreamweaver”.
Then the manager starts and I have to wait and click a few buttons until I can close it.
How can I stop the Extension Manager popping up?
    Thanks for advice.

Seems to be a lot of this going on. Wondering if we're wasting our time with this??!!

  • Pixel Bender\Extension Manager Permission Question in Windows 7

I recently migrated to Windows 7 (64Bit) and am using CS4.
I tried to install the Pixel Bender 64Bit plug-in I downloaded but always get a message in Adobe Extension Manager that reads:
"You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission."
I am my own administrator so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I know there are issues between Adobe and Microsoft but like with Acrobat isn't there a "by-pass" until things are sorted out?
Pixel Bender worked fine under Windows XP 32Bit.
    I'd appreciate any gudance.
    Thanks.
    Respectfully,
    BAZ

Right click on the extension manager shortcut and choose Run as Adminstrator
and then navigate to the pixel bender installer from within the extension manager
to install the pixel bender plugin.

  • Photoshop CC extension with invalid signature and Photoshop default installed extensions cannot be loaded

I have a Creative Cloud subscription for Photoshop CC. All Creative Clouds products are updated to the latest versions. When I tried to install Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3 Photoshop extension using the Adobe Extension Manager CC on my PC desktop, I received an error message the extension contained an invalid signature and wouldn't be installed. I had previously installed the extension on my laptop without any problems. At the same time, I also noticed the default installed Photoshop CC extensions (e.g., Adobe Exchange, Kuler, Mini Bridge, Behance) could not be loaded using the Windows/Extension command. I receive an error message that the command could not be completed because the extension could not be loaded. After contacting Tony Kuyper, he suggested that I try the steps mentioned in the following weblink: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6029768. The steps basically consist of uninstalling and reinstalling all the Creative Cloud apps associated with Photoshop CC. I tried the steps multiple times, but I am still having the same problems. I can find the default installed Photoshop CC extensions on my machine, so I don't know why they can't be loaded.
I posted this question in the Extension Manager group. Should I also post it in the Adobe Photoshop group?
    Thanks for your assistance,
    Mark Curtis

    Zhihong,
I received your e-mail with the questions below. I answered some of your questions: answers in red and underlined. In addition to posting in the forum, I also replied to your e-mail address, but the message was returned as undeliverable. What e-mail address should I use for sending you the log files.
    Thanks,
    Mark
    Hi Mark,
Here is a workaround to make the extension display again:
You can bypass the check for extension signature by editing the CSXS preference properties file, located at:
    • Win: regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/CSXS.5
    • Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.CSXS.5.plist
Add a new entry “PlayerDebugMode” of type "string" with the value of "1". And then restart Photoshop and try again. Please let us know if this work around can work.
And could you please help to offer following information for us to find the root cause? Thanks:
    1. Which PS version are you using? On what platform, Windows or Mac OS? Photoshop CC (64-Bit) 14.2.1 x64, Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit)
    2. The extension cannot be loaded since when? 5/25/2014
    3. What is the version of imslib.dll/.framework and PlugPlugOwl.dll/.framework? It locates at path like “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)”. 7.0.0.145, 4.2.0.36
    4. Can you get the CSXS log and send it to us? Please add a “LogLevel” key with value “6” in registry (PS should be restarted for the log level change to take effect):
    • Win: regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/CSXS.5
    • Mac: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.CSXS.5.plist
Then restart PS and the log file will be generated at:
    • Win: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\csxs5-PHSP.log
    • Mac: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Logs/CSXS/csxs5-PHSP.log
    Thanks!

  • Extension Manager CS5 does not show Digital Publishing extension...

... even though the extension is installed for InDesign CS5 and operating normally.
I've tried trashing the EM prefs file but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
    Have reinstalled extension several times.
    Any insights are appreciated!

Digital Publishing extension has its own installer, it is not a ZXP or MXP extension. Extension Manager cannot manage it.
Extension Manager preference file only records the size and position of window, which product and extension are selected when exiting EM last time. It has nothing to do with displaying this extension or not.

  • Extension Manager 5.5 fails to import DWCS5 extensions

    HI folks,
I just installed CS 5.5 and the EM did not import DW CS 5 extensions, although it did import Photoshop and FW extensions correctly.
Little help?   Any solutions? Would be a pain to have to reinstall all of them by hand.

Dreamweaver extensions do indeed import if CS5.5 is installed on a
computer which has CS5 installed. Only those extensions in the previous
version will be imported. The import routine occurs the first time the
new EM is run. What can complicate this are:
    1. There are more than 1 version installed before upgrading
    2. The installation process goes bad
    3. The user is confused

  • Lost Use of App Manager and Updates after Windows 8 install

I recently purchased Windows 8 and now the Adobe Application Manager will not run on my computer.  In addtion, I am unable to update photoshop and several other CS6 programs.  Does anyone have a fix for this?

A lot of security updates along with .NET 4.5 should be installed before all programs run correctly on your computer. When Windows updates shows no more updates, then you should be good to go as far I'm guessing.

  • Photoshop CS6 Extension manager 6.0.4 does not install

I am running a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5 and I tried to update extensiion manager 6.0.4 and received an error message, U44M1P7, and the update would not install.  This happened twice and after the first time, I did repair disk preferences.
Does anyone know what this means?  Is this an essential update to Photoshop CS6?  Thank you.

Download and install the updates manually.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates and download the update that you are trying to install.

  • Why is Bridge not listed in the CS6 Extension Manager?

Title says it all realy. Is this a bug, or a feature regression? How should extensions for Bridge be installed? Back to the manual and error prone way?

You can find the answer in FAQ( http://forums.adobe.com/community/creativesuites/extensionmanager/faq ). There is a FAQ link in the Extension Manager user forum page( frame on the right ).
Q: Bridge CS6 was NOT listed in Extension Manager CS6
    Mar 18, 2012 10:50 PM
Starting from CS6, Bridge is not supported by Extension Manager anymore. That is why you cannot see it in Extension Manager.
Q: How can I install extensions for Bridge CS6?
    Mar 18, 2012 10:43 PM
Because Bridge CS6 is not supported by Extension Manager anymore, you have to install them manually.
For MXP extension, you can convert it to ZXP extensions with Extension Manager CS6. Then try steps below.
For ZXP extension, use utility software such as 7-zip, WinZip or WinRAR to extract it to a folder. If there is no mxi file after extraction, then it is a CSXS extension.
For CSXS ZXP extension,  move the folder to following folder.
        Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CS6ServiceManager\extensions\"
        Mac: "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS6ServiceManager/extensions/"
For non-CSXS ZXP extension, check the content of the MXI file. Copy all source files defined in "..." to the corresponding destination folders manually. If you are not sure where these files should be copied, please paste the mxi file here.

  • Can't install extensions in DW CS3 since downloading Photoshop CS6 trial

I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP. About a week ago I downloaded the Photoshop CS6 30-day free trial. Since then, when I try to install an extension in Dreamweaver, the Adobe Extension Manager CS6 opens, with the message "This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 6 or greater." I looked at Add & Remove Programs on my computer to see if the Extension Manager CS6 could be uninstalled, but it's not on the list of programs so I guess the only way to remove it would be to uninstall the Photoshop trial, which I don't want to do. Is there any way around this problem? The extension I wanted to install is an update of a PVII product that I already have installed.

Thanks Murray! I selected Commands>Manage Extensions, the old Extension Manager opened and I clicked File>Install Extension and the extension installed with no problem. The first time I had tried to install it by double-clicking directly on the file and that's when the CS6 Extension Manager opened and said the extension culdn't be installed. Thanks again!

  • Photoshop CC 2014 not showing in the Extension Manager

    Hi,
I'm having trouble installing an extension for Photoshop 2014. PS 2014 is not showing up in my extension manager, which makes it impossible to install extensions. I've tried uninstalling the extension manager a few times but to no avail.
How do I get CS 2014 to show up in the Extension Manager? I'm really missing my Guide Guide extension, I'm using Photoshop CS until this issue is fixed.
    Has anyone had similar troubles?
    Many thanks.

Thanks... I grabbed it (all of them, actually) but now I'm having trouble installing them (not an Adobe problem, I don't think; they recently changed a bunch of security protocols here and I think that's what's preventing me from running the updater).
I am curious, though: if there was an update to the Extension Manager (and there were FIVE of them) why does my Creative Cloud app tell me that I'm up to date????

  • Error installing Extension Manager 6.0.5 update

I am unable to install Extension Manager 6.0.5 Update.  The installation is unsuccessful.  The Error Code is U44M1I0

    Hi Swila,
To help us solve the issue, could you please provide the following info?
    1. Have you ever changed or removed files in the Extension Manger installation folder?
    2. The current version of your Extension Manager.
    3. Platform and the OS version that you are working in( Windows7, Windows8, Mac OS X10.7, 10.8, … )
    4. Please generate installation log with the steps below, and send the log files to [email protected]
    Windows
    1. Open Command Prompt window.
    2. Run command: cd %temp%
    3. Run command: echo > ribs3debug
    4. After that a new file named "ribs3debug" should have been created in temp folder.
    5. Update Extension Manager CS6, via Adobe Application Manager or running updater installer manually.
    6. The log file "X:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\Adobe Extension Manager CS6 xxxx.log.gz" will be created( check the create date of the file and make sure it is the log of your patch installation ).
    Mac
    1. Open a Terminal window.
    2. Run command: cd /tmp
    3. Run command: touch ribs3debug
    4. After that a new file named "ribs3debug" should have been created in /tmp folder.
    5. Update Extension Manager CS6, via Adobe Application Manager or running updater installer manually.
    6. The new log file "/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/Adobe Extension Manager CS6 xxxx.log.gz" will be created( check the create date of the file and make sure it is the log of your patch installation ).
A workaround of this issue is, manually deleting the instllation folder of Extension Manager( C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS6 in windows or /Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6 in mac ), then downloading the Extension Manager 6.0.4 from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/, installing it and try updating it again.
    Thanks,
    Xiaoyi
