Extension Manager and performance

from the JDeveloper documentation:
Extensions are components that are optionally loaded when JDeveloper is launched. Many of JDeveloper's standard features are installed as extensions. Disabling unneeded components can improve launch time significantly.
question:
It improves launch time, but does it also improve JDeveloper overall performance?

Adobe extensions show in the Extension Manager and are enabled but do not appear at all in Photoshop CC 2014. Third party extensions do show up and can be used. All extensions are available in and can be used Photoshop CC. I have reinstalled CC and Extension Manager to the most recent releases and the Adobe extensions are still not available in Photoshop CC 2014. What should I do now?

Adobe is working on HTML based version of Adobe Watermark, eMailer, etc.
If some extensions are must have for you, you have to continue to use PS CC until HTML based counterparts become available.

Important Updates for Illustrator, Extension Manager, and Photoshop - Failure to Install

I have been trying to update my Illsutrator, Extension Manager, and Photoshop.
I have tried about five time using different methods.
Each time I received the following error message:
AI CS6 Creative Cloud Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Adobe Extension Manager CS6
Update Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.1
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I need some giudance in order to have the updates installed.

Whilst this may prove to be the only way to install the updates, it reads as though it only takes a few minutes to complete but as others have reported it's a real pain to have to go all through a clean up and then full installation particularly if you have a number of plugins to re-install / activate! Not the best solution and I would have hoped Adobe could have come up with a better solution. As it is I will not be going through the update and will set the application manager to manual rather than have the icon constantly on displayed in the taskbar expecting to update what doesn't work.

Deploying Adobe Extension Manager and Toolkit for CreateJS

Has anyone tried deploying Adobe Extension Manager and/or Toolkit for CreateJS through Group Policy. Any tips for gettig it to work?

We haven't tried to deploy Extension Manager through Group Policy. Maybe you can consider Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition (AAMEE): http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html .

I want to ensure that I am using the best practices for managing and maintaining our Database.
Is there any documentation out there that outlines how to maintain and ensure top performance out of our database?

I appreciate the responses, however this is not the information I am looking for.
I am specificaly looking for best practices invloving the managment and performance tuning.
Example: are their tools that I can install that will monitor the size and response time of the database and alert me if there is degradation in performance?
Are there specific periodic activities I should be doing to garuntee that my database will continue to function that way it is supposed to?
Or is this a fire and forget solution that does not need this attention?

Adobe Extension Manager and Photoshop CS5 and MAC OS 10.7.5

Even after reinstalling and updating the Extension Manager for CS5, when downloading Photoshop extensions I get the message: "You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission." I'm the sole user and the administrator on this Mac. (OS 10.7.5).

I deleted my extensions manager and now my Mac won't start up. Please Help!!

I have an IMac, 24" model, running OS X. For the past several days, little warning windows have been popping up with this annoying beep, telling me that my computer was infected with various viruses. 4, to be exact. Also, while on the internet, random pop-up windows have appeared, so I thought I did have a virus. So, to correct the matter (or attempt to), I deleted my preferences folder from the system folder, as well as the extensions manager.
Now, the computer won't start up past the white logo screen with the turning gear thingy. I've tried resetting the PRAM, and starting in safe mode, and safe mode with the progress screen, and even something there while holding the option key (that one gave me an icon of my HD, but clicking on it took me back to an endless wait on the white screen). I've tried starting from the disk that came with the computer (I held the C key) but not only doesn't the computer start from the disk, it spits the disk out. I don't understand. The computer was fine until I deleted the ext. mgr and preferences, so it can't be that the computer went bad or something.
I don't know what else to do here. I do have an extended service warranty with Best Buy, but I wanted to see if there was some way to fix this before hauling this thing off to the store. Any suggestions? I'm desperate here, because anything and everything I've tried (based on all the try-this and try-thats I found on the internet), nothing has worked.

Well done! You've succeeded in turning your Mac into a useless brick.
Deleting the System/Library/extensions folder and the associated manager removed most of the functionality from your OS.
And all to get rid of what sounds like the MacDefender trojan or a variant.

You may have a slim chance of recovering if it will still boot in Target Disc Mode; in which case you can use another Mac to install the system remotely.
And I doubt your warranty with Best Buy is going to cover user "error."

Is it Okay to Uninstall Device Central, Encore, Extension Manager and These Other Programs?

I just installed CS4 of Adobe Premiere Pro because I heard good things about the program and needed something to edit my videos together, but didn't realize it consisted of so many other programs I've never heard of. After installing it, the old computer I'm using now only has less than 200 mb left in the C:/ Drive.
Since I'm only interested in editing videos together, would it be okay to uninstall all the other Adobe programs like Device Central, Encore, Extension Manager, AIR and Color Common Settings. I'm only going to use Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator. But I'm not quite sure if I would lose something vital that will prevent me from using the programs I actually want to use.

I dont think uninstalling mentioned programs will give you much disk space.
The only thing I would uninstall is Encore.
You best option is to get a new disk, because I do not think its going to work properly. You need additional workspace on the C;drive.

Having troubles with extension manager and new add-on

Hi,
bought a new add-on (never done that before, so it's new to me).
Extension manager CS6 will not load the add-on.
I checked both manager and add-on, both CS6, so it should work.
Updated the manager this morning, which helped a bit, as it is now loading
80%, asking me to accept the disclaimer.
When I do, I get "unexpected error while trying to install".
Then it's loading and installing again. When it's finished there is no new add-on (extension) loaded or to be seen.
Could you help me with this problem, please?

you have to find the keyword to see...
i suggest you to uninstall businessobjects and install again(else it's very hard to add the performance management program).
while you install, check the install performance management also(you have to have the keyword).

Extension Manager and InDesign Problems

i have Problems with Extension Manager in CS6
I installed Master Collection but there is no InDesign in Extension Manager.
This is the Screen i get when i open the Extension Manager.
It says something about an invalid Token......
Can someone help me?

One Strange thing:
If i delet the complete InDesign Folder in my User Preferences - the "PlugInConfig.txt" is the only file which doesn't come back if i start InDesgin after deleting the Prefs......
I can't create a log file......
I go step by step throug your advise - but the only thing i get is a 0 KB empty document "ExManLog.YES" in my user folder.....
The Folder you said (/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS/) is no log file.....
What next?

Extension Manager and Vista 64

I have moved Dreamweaver CS4 to a machine running Vista 64. When I load extension Manager, the program is frozen. Task manager indicates that it is running, but I cant access any of the features including closing the extension manager.
Is there a compatability problem?

As far as I know it does run under vista 64, try running the extension manager as administrator, (right click - select 'run as administrator).
Also there may be a problem with the installation of the extension manager, see - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408524.html.
