Extension Manager CC does not see .mxp
I can not open .mxp in Extension Manager CC on Mac OS 10.8.5. Extension Manager CC does not see files.
I've done update and all steps: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/install-extensions-flash-professional.html
Extension Manager CC no longer supports mxp extensions which have some limitations and were deprecated in CS6. You have to use Extension Manager CS6 to convert mxp extensions to zxp extensions. There is a menu item for it. If you don't have Extension Manager CS6 installed, you can get it from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em6_download.html .

Extension Manager 1.7 - not seeing Flash 8
I searched on this problem and only came up with very, very
old posts. I have Studio 8 - DW, FLash, FW etc. The ONLY
application that the E.M. displays is Fireworks 8. I cannot load
any extensions for Flash (or DW either), it keeps telling me that
Flash 8 is required and says the exension will not be installed :(
Yeah..well, I have a legit copy of Studio 8 so something's haywire.
What is the answer to this ?? I uninstalled EM and
reinstalled it from a fresh download.. still doesn't work. This is
rather aggravating to say the least.I get this all the time. In fact EVERYTIME I try to install
an extension into Flash. The EM never recognizes that Flash is
installed. The ONLY way I have been able to get this to work is
this:
1: Close the Extension Manager if it is open
2: Start Flash
3: Start the EM either through Flash itself in the help menu
OR through a shortcut on desktop
4: Either close flash, it is ok to do so now, OR keep it open
and when your extensions are fully installed, close the restart
flash to initialize the new extensions.
That is the ONLY way I have been able to get EM to recognize
flash is installed. Not sure why because I have the full studio 8
pro. To try to solve this issue back when I first noticed the
problem I completely uninstalled flash, the EM and reinstalled
both. This didn't work.
Then I tried to reinstall in an order with EM first THEN
flash. This didn't work either
I then uninstalled studio 8 completely, reinstalled it
successfully but the EM still didn't recognize flash unless it was
running before EM was started. So I gave up and just anytime I need
or want to install an extension into flash I have to remember to
always get Flash up and running first before opening the EM. It
does work just one extra step that isn't really needed imo.
Consider it a bug in the EM.
I never tried to track down where it is getting the
information as to what is installed, if you or someone does bother
to do this, my guess is flash 8 isnt in the list or a typo or
something. Just add it to that list and probably EM would then
recognize flash. Though I don't know, never tried it. My guess it
is in the registry somewhere or in an xml config file but which
one, I don't have the time to go find out. -
Extension Manager CS5 does not show Digital Publishing extension...
... even though the extension is installed for InDesign CS5 and operating normally.
I've tried trashing the EM prefs file but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
Have reinstalled extension several times.
Any insights are appreciated!Digital Publishing extension has its own installer, it is not a ZXP or MXP extension. Extension Manager cannot manage it.
Extension Manager preference file only records the size and position of window, which product and extension are selected when exiting EM last time. It has nothing to do with displaying this extension or not. -

Just installed Firefox 3.6. Firefox will not start and Firefox safemode does not start either. Using Task manager I do not see if started either. If I create a new profile and start from that window, Firefox starts up. I see no error windows/messages. I do have it listed in my Firewall as an exception program with Permit All. What is happening?

Airport Management Utility on new MacBook Pro does not see base station
I have an old "flying saucer" Airport base station. I
recently started using a new MacBook Pro. Airport
connection is fine, Airport Admin Utility works normally,
but Airport Client Monitor 1.0 shows blank graphs and
Airport Management Utility 1.0 does not "see" the
base station. I don't know if the problem is the
change to Tiger, to Intel, or to AE card. MacStumbler
and friends also are "blind".

Nokia Suite does not see saved messages
Hi! I transferred a part of the messages in my Nokia 6303 to phone' s folder Saved Messages, and since then the troubles began.
1. I can not move any sms out of the Saved Messages folder, for example, it is not possible to send them back to Inbox folder or any place else.
2. Nokia Suite does not see some of those saved messages- they appear as empty boxes there, despite I can read them on my phone.
Can I restore all messages downloaded to Nokia Suite, making them readable?

First could you do a soft reset on your phone by entering *#7780# into your phone’s keypad. The default password when prompted is 12345. This reset will NOT erase any data, but revert settings back to original. Also, ensure you have the latest firmware by visiting this page and the latest version of PC Suite by following this link here.
The following link provides extensive information for managing your messages on Nokia devices using Nokia PC suite.
In order for you to move messages out of the “Saved messages” folder, you will have to create a new folder in the same directory, but you will not able to move messages back into your inbox. To move your saved messages to another non-Nokia device, you can forward the messages via SMS.

Custom Manage Property does not pick up the value from mapping crawl property
Hi All,
I have created a custom list with the column name that's called "category".
Then I ran full crawl and I saw the "ows_category" crawl property is created.
Then I create the manage property names as "Category" and map with the "ows_category" and run the full crawl again. (Retrivable, Searchable, Refinable options are checked)
After full crawl, I searched Category:keyword but it returned 0 result.
But when I search keyword, that list item is retuned
I tried to debug with the spsearch2013 tool and there is no "Category" manage property in the return XML.
It seems the Manage Property does not pick up value from the crawl property. (Something might be wrong with the index schema)
Do you have any suggestion?
Do I need to reset the index?

When you search ‘category’ in crawled properties(Central Administration->Search Service Application->Search Schema), you will see ows_Category is mapped to DiscussionCategory, like the screenshot:
So, I suggest you create a new column using another name, then test again, compare the result.

I have a large video on my ipad that I need to transfer to my PC (a window 7). I could also use a windows 8 if that would help. But all of the applications I have tried do not see this large video (52 mins) even though they transfer smaller videos fine. The ipad will not let me trim the video, saying it is too large. This is true even though I only want to trim the original, and not create a new video. (Actually it refuses before it gets to the choice of creating something new or just eliminating something from the original). I have been to an Apple store, but the people there only could recommend that I try some alternate applications to do the transfer (Kodak EasyShare). I don't have much faith this will work. I think I have this application on an old PC, and it is not something I want on my new computers.
Is it possibled the size of this video just violates the transfer formats for files over USB? If so, I will just delete the video and move on. But the video is really something I wanted to save. I would be happy to eliminate most of the video, but the ipad will not let me trim it.

I cannot sync my Firefox 18 desktop with iPad or iPhone browsers. I have tried everything suggested on the Web and have tried safe mode as well. When I enter the three-line synch code, I get a sync failure. I have deleted my account and then set up a new account without success. Manage Account does not appear in the options sync tab. How do I manage my account to get the recovery key?
I’ve spent hours on this and am considering using Chrome as my regular browser since I have no trouble syncing Chrome with apps. Help appreciated.You can only inspect the sync key via manage account if this device is has been setup and is connected to the sync server.
You can find the sync account password and the sync (recovery) key in the password manager on computers where a sync account with a specific e-mail address has been set up.
Look for:

* chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)
You can look at this version of the about:synckey extension that I have modified to show the sync key in current Firefox versions (desktop and mobile).

[oracle@aris_sv_db log]$To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

Acrobat ver 9.4.2 does not see my installed printers
after the latest update Adobe Acrobat does not see my installed printers - Adobe Reader sees them fine - this is creating a major problem for me as I now had to go in and mark reader as the default program - every time I try to print from acrobat it tells me I have to install a printer first - I have more than 2 printer installed ( local and network printers) what is going on and how can I fix this - have tried doing a repair with no luck
As suggested in a previous post I looked up the Support posting in the Forums about this issue, looking for the same solution from the issue we are experiencing since that last update. I used the first solution which seems to have worked.

My only issue with this was clicking on manifest file, windows saved it as a .xml file not .manifest file extension. Windows does see .manifest as a .xml file but does not have a viewer to open it. I changed the saved .xml file to .manifest and then followed the instructions of copying the file into the Acrobat folder, rebooted the computer. Now the original default printer works with Acrobat 9 Pro.
Another strange thing about this problem is that if you change your default printer to another printer in printer/faxes it will see those but not the original default printer. But the above solution did work for me.

Easy Photo Print does not see Aperture files
I have a Canon MP640 printer, which gives me really poor results when used with Aperture (3.1.3) so I have been using the print software that came with my printer (Easy photo print EX). The problem with Easy PhotoPrint, is that this software does not see my Aperture files, even though I have turned on the “View in finder” feature in Aperture. Can anyone tell me how to configure my system, so that Easy PrintPhoto will see my files, without having to export every time I want to print
Ahh ok, that function File->Show In Finder shows the current selection in the finder if it is a referenced image. That's all it does, it doesn't cause any permanent changes to any settings in Aperture or the Finder. Why you couldn't see your referenced files in the finder before clicking this and now you can is a mystery and a coincidence and will do nothing to enable other programs from accessing the images in the library.
As for turning off color management when you print from Aperture, in the print dialog under the Rendering section
when you open the Color Profile you can select Printer Managed.
Once you set it to Printer Managed you'll see the warning change from Turn off in Printer to Turn on in Printer
Might be worth a shot if you haven't try it yet. -
My iMac does not see the new Toshiba external drive in Finder or Disk Utility. How can I get it to see the drive?
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Energy Saver ▹ Power Adapter
and uncheck the box labeled Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible, if it's checked.
If the drive has more than one interface (USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, eSATA), try one of the other interfaces.
Check that the data cable is securely inserted at both ends.
Try a different cable.
If you're connecting the drive through a hub, connect it directly to a built-in port on the Mac.
If you're connecting it directly, try a different port.
Disconnect all other devices on the bus, or as many as possible.
Test the drive with another Mac. Test another drive with this Mac.
If the drive is bus-powered, but has an AC adapter, connect the adapter.
Start up in Recovery mode and launch Disk Utility. Is the drive recognized?
Start up in Safe Mode and test.
Reset the NVRAM.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If the drive doesn't work under any of the above conditions, and if another drive does work with the same Mac, then the drive is malfunctioning.
