Extension Manager does not allow install of app.
EX Mgr. will not install application of zxp file. Says I do not have appropriate permissions to do so. Says to contact Admin. I am sole user.
I wanted to change the file extension from zxp to zip to manually install in CS5, but I don't know where to begin. File downloaded from net with EX Mgr. icon already set up and goes directly there when I click on it.
Help.

CS3 is version 9 of Dreamweaver, and CS4 is version 10. If you are trying to install an extension and Extension Manager says that you need at least version 10, then that could be the reason (although I thought the messages were tied to CS4 rather than 10, but I may be mistaken).
If that isn't the case, and you please describe the exact steps you're taking and the exact error message you're getting at what point in the interaction with Extension manager.

Apps panel does not appear, "Install Adobe Apps" not working

I would like to download Photoshop CC (first the trial version) but after downloading Creatice Cloud Desktop, the Apps panel does not appear at all. If I click on the "install adobe apps" tab nothing happens. I have tried everything that was written on the forum but nothing seems to work . I have also re-installed the programs several times.@
SaraCiao guys, in the end I tried everything in this post but nothing worked.
I managed to solve the problem through this: creative cloud is blank window why? renaming that opm.db file but in the "Program Files (x86)" folder (I prevously used the "program files" one.

Adobe Extension Manager does not recognize me as a Creative Cloud Member.
I'm unable to activate several new extensions, particularly 2 of the paper textures. Adobe Extension Manager says I have to be a Creative Cloud member. I am. And I"m logged in.

Did you acquire your extensions from Adobe Exchange? If yes, when the extension is to be installed, Extension Manager will check if the current user has purchased this extension( for paid extensions ). Then Adobe Application Manager might pop up to let the user input his accout --- adobe id, which is what you got.

Desktop manager does not allow to install 5.0 Firmware
Hi all,
i got following problem. I try to upgrade several 9000 and 8900 to FW-Versions 5.0.0.190 or higher.
The Desktop-Manager recognizes the installed Firmwares and shows them BUT marks them with an asterisk.
Then it states
"only users with an activ subscription the the Blackberry-Service are allowed to install this BB Device Software."
Can anybody help me with that problem ?
By the way: it worked once or twice , but now, on any PC i install the Desktop Manager and the Firmware Files this error occurs.

MarkusThe device you are upgrading must have an active connection to a BlackBerry Data Plan.
You will see this message if you do not have a data plan on their BlackBerry and they try to use Desktop Manager 5.0 to upgrade to BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 or greater. Sometimes you will see this error if the user has never turned on the mobile network on their device so that might be all that is needed to work around this.

Creative Cloud Menu does not show installed Lightroom App
I'm wondering if there is something I can do to fix the problem. Lightroom does work as long as I dig through menus to find it.
Did you have a stand alone light room ?
You need to uninstall the stand alone Light room from the Computer. Then you can follow these links:

AAM Does Not Recognize Installed CC Apps
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned a problem where the AAM did not recognise some apps as being installed when they were. I was concerned that I would miss out on updates because of this, so I removed the AAM and installed it again, at which point it did not recoginse _any_ of the installed apps, so I went ahead and installed them again. At this point all was well, and the AAM seemed to be in sync with what was and what wasn't installed.
Then yesterday there was an update for the AAM, which I dutifully installed, and I am right back where I was before!
InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat CC, and Lightroom 5 all show as uninstalled, whereas they are working perfectly. Is there some way I can get the AAM in sync without reinstalling everything again?

Please launch CC desktop/Select preferences/Apps and check the language selected for installed Apps. If your CC apps are installed in English and in CC desktop preferences there is some other language selected apart from English then go ahead and change the language as per the language of installed apps and see whether you find the apps showing as installed again.

Power Manager does not allow switching
I'm slightly confused about the usage of the Power Manager. I know I'm supposed to be able to switch between my 3650 and the integrated graphics card on the fly, but I'm not being offered that option from the program.
I installed a slightly older version of Power Manager (2.20?) since the most recent one from the Driver Matrix would crash all the time after OS boot (Rundll32 crash).
How would I achieve that?
Thanks.They switched the way to access switchable graphics between releases of the power manager. In some releases it's left clicking on the battery icon to find it, in some releases it's right clicking.

I have a bit of a peculiar problem here but I don't know if you will understand it.
I was allowing my neighbour to use my wireless internet. He accessed my wireless through his N8.
I was away for a couple of weeks and am back now. He told me that he had wanted to use the wireless on his laptop but he could not do so because the only options that his phone gave him were
'Start web browsing'
'Connect'
'Details'
Oh yeah, how is start web browsing and connect really different those options are a little ambiguous. Also back to my original query. You would probably make life easier for your users if they could retrieve their wireless key. I know for instance you can do that in your network and sharing center in Windows.

TheronstarAre your trying to say that he was trying to access a wireless internet connection from his laptop to his N8? If so, did he enable his laptop to emit a wifi signal? If he did not then the N8 would not have any signal to detect to connect to.

Problem with Adobe Extension Manager CC. Does not show installed extensions.
Adobe Extension Manager CC does not show installed extensions for Photoshop CC 2014 or Photoshop CC so that I am unable to uninstall extensions. This means that I cannot install updates to extensions.
Hi JJ - thank you for getting back to me. I got onto an Adobe tech and we tried various things including re-installation of Extension Manager, which didn't fix the problem. We then updated Photoshop (I was one point release back) then re-installed EM and this has fixed the problem.
I did check online and quite a number of people seem to have had this problem, so I guess Adobe has fixed whatever bug was in there.

I have used Illustrator CS3 on my two try or three previous computers. Now I try to install Illustrator CS3 on a my new (4 weeks old) computer. Adobe does not allow me, but demands me to proof myself being an owner of Illustrator CS2 or older. Extension Manager is not recognizing that I have Photshop CS5 Installed.
Thus I can not install any extensions for Photoahop and this is a problem. I have the CS5 Master Collection installed and the Extension Manager recognizes all of the other apps, just not the one I currently need. I have already checked the XManConfig.xml file and it is there and appears glitch free. I have already invested a significant amount of time into fixing this problem yethave made little progress. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.Im running it on 64 bit Windows 7, The Mastercollection is installed as 32 bit, but oddly enough the version of Photoshop I use most is 64 bit. Though I do have a 32 bit installed as well. And The extension manager works for the rest of the suite, and it opens without any warning notifications. The 64 and 32 bit versiond of PS were installed pretty much simultaneously. (2 min of difference)

I wanted to watch a BNN video on my iphone 4, but I was told I needed Adobe Flash Player. Adobe says Apple does not allow to install Flash Player on iPhones. Any suggestions?
See if BNN has an app in the app store or do without.
Adobe does not make a flash player for ipod/ipad/iphone and likely never will.

How to Uninstall Yosemite? System does not allow Erase the HD, nor does it allow re-install of original O/S Disc (10.6.7). I want Mavericks or even Lion Back. Thanks.
Start with reinstalling Snow Leopard:
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
you will be running a fresh install of OS X. You can now begin the update process
by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
installation current.

The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless. -
Telegraph app does not allow access to newspaper. Says. Have not paid sub but pay via iTunes Store. Telegraph says it is an iTunes prob but I can't get to talk to anyone there! Any suggestions please?
