Extension Manager for CS3

I have to use both Flash CS3 & Flash CS5 but I can't install extensions on CS3. I can only install extensions on CS5 only. What's going on?
This is why I have to use both versions. I recently upgraded from CS3 to CS5 BUT after a few months working in CS5, I hate it. I'm rare in that I use Flash mostly to draw. So I reinstalled Flash CS3 but I can't load my "trick or script" extensions that I love so much since there is only Adobe Extension Manager CS5, which doesn't read that I have CS3 installed on my PC along with CS5.
I have to keep both versions of Flash on my PC because some of my newer files (which I created while I was testing out CS5) will now only open in CS5 since they were created in CS5.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem or can tell me why this is happening?

Suggestion from other people:
ExMan CS3 and CS4 should can co-exist in the same os, user may try to uninstall ExMan CS3 in Applications->Utilities->Adobe Installers firstly before re-installing CS3.

  • Can I have an Action file install when a ZXP is opened in Extension Manager for CC 2014?

I have an extension that I'm packaging as a .zxp file.  I'm using Adobe Exchange Packager and setting to the proper install location for the files for the extension.
However, my extension requires an action file (.atn) is installed in the user's Actions panel.  Of course, I can include the .atn file in my package and copy it to a folder on the user's computer.... BUT, is there any way I can include that .atn file in the .zxp package and when Extension Manager unpacks the files, it INSTALLS the included .atn file into the user's version of Photoshop?  So, this way the .atn file is already installed in the user's Actions panel after the extension installs through Extension Manager...so the user doesn't have to worry about installing the .atn file as well?
(If there were a folder to place the .atn file into, I could do that, but I do not believe that there are any folders for CC 2014 that hold .atn files in which the panel will read, if at first not installed in the normal way.  I believe this is new for CC, and that the actions are held in a .psp file.)

I am not sure about the .atn file location but it sounds like you want to create a 'hybrid' extension.
You create a .ZXP containing your CS extension and then create an MXI file which includes the .ZXP and .atn file.
You would then wrap this into another .ZXP which will be used as the installer.

  • Extension Manager corrupted my programs

I used Extension Manager for the first time today and downloaded about 20 extensions for Flash CS5.  After installing them, I tried to open my Flash program and got an error that reads:
    Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5\Flash.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
This has never happend before and it does this with every Adobe program.  I have the eLearning Suite 2 and I have deleted the extensions and uninstalled/reinstalled my programs twice to no avail.  What is going on? I can't use any of my programs.

I downloaded them from Adobe Exchange http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/ .
I removed the extensions from the Extension Manager and then I deleted the
    downloaded files from my computer.
Here's the list of the extensions that I downloaded for Flash:
    Query Toggle
    JK drawing
    Byte-base
    Store Kit
    Tnt Sounds
    plusMover
    Component
    Auto Snapshot
    eMailer
    Sickworks
    Scriptable Object Turtle
    CurveMovie
    drawPage
    Drag and Drop Preloader
    R16 Preloader
    Intro Flash

There is an update for Extension Manager for MACs (if you're on a MAC):
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
    That might solve your problem.
The other thing I've read is that you should leave the max value blank...see this thread....

  • CS5 Extension Manager error message re: plug-in installation

Extension Manager gives me the following error mesage when I try and load "Adobe Photoshop CS5 Automate Plug-ins"
What do I need to do to solve the error message?

That's very puzzling, but you seem to have an older version of the Adobe Extension Manager for CS5.x.  You are on 5.0.x, R_Kelly mentions 5.2.x, and I'm on 5.5.x
Maybe you need to make sure you are updated to Photoshop 12.1 update first, then make sure you are updated to Adobe Extenson Manager 5.5.0.163.
This is the version of the AEM that I have for Photoshop 12.1 (CS5.1) which resides on my Snow Leopard 10.6.8 boot HD:

  • Extension Manager removing the whole Plug-ins folder along with the panel

When I click "Remove" from the Extension Manager interface, the following has occurred--
In CS6 - When I used the Extension Manager to "remove" by clicking the "remove" button,  it removes not just the panel I installed but has removed the folders "Plug-ins>Panels>my panel". The whole hierarchy!
In CS5 - it has left the Plug-ins folder but removed  "Panels>my panel"
In CS4 - the Extension Manager is working correctly for installing and removing without removing any shell folders.
Question #1 - What do I do about my missing plug-ins for these applications? This is disastrous!
Question #2 - Is there a way to fix the CS5 and CS6 Extension Manager to not delete the shell folders, when you are just trying to remove a custom panel????
    My system:
    Windows Vista Ultimate
    Service Pack 2
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9650 @3.00GHz
    Memory (RAM) 8.00GB
    System-64-bit
    Hard Drives C: 1Terabyte - 301GB available
    Z: 1 Terabyte - 309GB available

Also here is more info that might be germane--
I am using Extend Script Toolkit CS6 3.8.0.12 ExtendSript 2.12 ScriptUI 6.1.8 to edit and generate 1 .mxi file for use in CS5 & CS6 and another .mxi file for use in CS4.
I open the Adobe Extension Manager for CS5 to create the .mxp files for CS5 & CS6
I double click on the .mxp file and it automatically opens Adobe Extension Manager CS6 and installs the panel into Photoshop CS6
I manually open Adobe Extension Manager CS5 it is sluggish to open and shows a progress bar. Then I do a File>Open to install the panel into Photoshop CS5.
In the testing of various iterations of mypanel, I have removed the previous version of mypanel, so there is nothing showing as enabled or installed in the EM. So, are you kind of saying that if I hadn't emptied out the panel but had left my own panels in there as just disabled, rather than "removed" that the rest of the whole Plug-ins folder would still be there. Leaving something in there would have been like saving an empty seat for a friend at the theater?
The Versions of Adobe Extension Manager that I am using are:
    CS6 version 6.0.2.40
    CS5 version 5.0.334
CS4 Version 2.1.112 (which appears to be working as it should!)

  • CS5 Extension Manager - invalid token

Wondering if anyone has any ideas. It's the Plugin from Fotolia. It was working fine. Then they released an update. And I tried to install it and now I get this.
I have installed Illustrator CS5 and that came with Extension Manager CS5.5 and this has no issues at all in installing the plugin.
However, InDesign does not show up in Extension Manager CS5.5.
So I open up Extension Manager CS5 and try to Install the plugin and I get that error.
I have been contact with Fotolia and Silicon Publishing and they are looking into but they are a bit stumped too.

I've already Reset Preferences. And that didn't help.

  • Extension Manager freezes during installation

I am trying to install Extension Manager, but it keeps hanging at 61%.  The current try has been stuck at 61% for about the last 45 minutes.  When I try cancelling the installation, then the cancellation process seems to freeze instead.
I have restarted my computer, but that didn't solve the problem.  I am running Windows 7 Professional.
I need Extension Manager to troubleshoot an InDesign file that just began acting strangely, so I need to get this problem solved.  Any suggestions?

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.  I am running Windows 7.
I haven't received any feedback regarding this problem, but just today, I did more searching on the Adobe website, and found a link that allows me to install Extension Manager directly onto my computer (without going through the Creative Cloud updater).  The link is here:  Adobe - Exchange : Download the Adobe Extension Manager
I am hoping that once the program has been installed correctly on my system, then I will be able to use the Creative Cloud updater to keep the version up to date.  I am in the middle of the installation process--I will update this message to let you know whether or not it worked once I know.
ETA:  I have now been trying to install the Stand-alone Extension Manager for about 3 hours, and it seems to be stuck at the "Currently Installing Microsoft Visual C++2005 Redistributable Package (X86)".  I even tried installing MS Visual C++ separately and then trying to install Extension Manager, and no luck.  Will keep you up to date with my progress.

  • Why won't Extension Manager install on my iMac ?

Do I need Extension Manager for my Photoshop/Lightroom CC plan? If I have it, where would it be listed in my Applications folder? It is listed when I open I open the extensions manager and says that an update is waiting, but it cannot download.

    Hi Mylenium,
Thanks for your reply. I have used Photoshop and Bridge for a long time and have just started trying Lightroom. The few extensions I have used so far are from third parties. I integrate found images with my own photographs. Please check my website: www.roslynrose.com. The only reason I got confused was that, while updating my Creative Cloud for Photoshop and Lightroom, I kept getting a message to install Extension Manager so that it could be updated. I had never bothered to install it before. What extensions, if any, do you think I need?
