Extension not ringing in hunt group

Callmanager 8 environment (2 subs, 1 pub). There are four extensions in a hunt group and one of them stopped ringing today when you dial the hunt pilot. No recent changes to CUCM were made prior to this occurring.
I have tried the following:
1) Removed the extension from line group, reset hunt list, added it back to the hunt list and reset hunt list again.
2) Had the user unplug his phone and plug it back in to force a restart.
3) Remote-reset the phone from CUCM
4) Deleted the hunt pilot, list, and line group and rebuilt them then reset the hunt list
5) Deleted the phone from CUCM and reprogrammed it then reset the hunt list
6) Replaced the phone with a brand new phone and reset the hunt list
I can direct dial the phone extension and if someone forwards their phone to this extension it rings as well. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

All,
I just got confirmation that the hunt group is now working. Although I cannot say for sure which changes actually fixed the problem it was some combination of the following:
1) Removed unassociated Line 5 instance of the extension (found in Route Plan Report)
2) Restarted all 3 CUCM servers (per recommendation from a Cisco contractor we worked with last night)
3) Changed RNA settings from 25 to 10 seconds
4) Disabled forwarding of 2 other extensions in the line group
5) Unchecked the "logged into hunt group" box, reset the phone, applied the setting again, reset the phone again
Thank you for everyone's help, much appreciated.
Matt

    Hi,
when the Call Manager fails and phones goes to telephony-service srst, phones get registered, can call out and receive calls.  However when i try to ring the hunt group it fails with a beep sound.  So i tried to create the hunt-group manually using the following commands, still no help. Could anyone please help on this issue.

    Hi adcompto,
As you said based on the debugs, I can see that the number get translated(8058600) as below
     Interface=0x67A07950, Interface Type=1, Destination=, Mode=0x0,
       Call Params(Calling Number=,(Calling Name=)(TON=Unknown, NPI=Unknown, Screening=Not Screened, Presentation=Allowed),
       Called Number=8058600
then it is matching cucm dialpeer as below,

and finally getting disconnected with the cause code of 38(network out of order)

do you know why it is hitting the cucm dialpeer instead ephonehunt?  Also the all the numbers( 8066721, 8066722, 8058609, 8058829) in the hunt group are all registered and works fine, when I dial them directly.  I will try your suggestion tomorrow by shutting down the cucm dialpeer and see how it works, in the meanwhile do you have any other suggestions.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Hunt Groups and Voicemail

Was not sure if this was the right group to post these questions. I believe that these will be super easy for this group, and I want to double check my thinking against you guys. So, here they are.
If we elect to use a BROADCAST type of hunt group in some of our departments (all phones in the hunt group ring simultaneously when a call is directed to the group) and then direct that call to a DEPARTMENTAL VOICE MAIL BOX in a BNA condition:
    1. Can the call ring with a unique ring that those in the hunt group can identify as different from a call that is directed specifically to their personal extension?
    2. If the call to the hunt group ends up in the departmental HUNT GROUP VOICE MAIL BOX, will all phones in the hunt group receive notification that a message exists in the GROUP voice mail box?
    3. If yes to 2 above, when any one individual in the group dials in to the group box and listens to the message, are all message waiting indicators subsequently turned off and does the person who responded to the message then become the owner of the message in his personal mail box?
Additional questions not related to hunt groups:
    4. Do internal station to station calls ring with a special tone that differentiates them from external inbound calls?

    Brian,
    1. There is not a distintive ring option in CM. You could create a 2nd line on your user's phones and add those lines to the hunt. From there the user can select a different ring for the line (this is a local phone option for ring).
    2. Setup alternate MWI on the group vmail box. Alternate I believe has a limit of 9. If you have more users than that then create a DN on each of their phones with the same # of the voicemail box. If that number is the original vmail pilot that is a CTI or other device then you wont be able to do that but you could create another DN and use a translation and the Multiple Tenant MWI option in CM service. Reply back if you need more detail.
    3. MWI is turned off. The message stays in the group mailbox, there is no forwarding unless the user manually forwards it.
    4. Not by default and I don't believe you have that option but not totally sure.

  • Hunt Group with Pots lines in Call Manager

Hello all.  I have a site with 12 Pots lines.  It is all configured via Call Manager.  We are using mgcp.  I asked the telco to setup the numbers to hunt which they said they did but still when I call the main number second time it just rings and eventually get some voicemail that is not from the call manager.  I think I need to setup Hunting in the Call Manager?  Is that correct?
Line Group --> Add the extensions in here and set them up to hunt?
Hunt List --> Create a Hunt list and associate a Line Group with it?
Hunt Pilot --> I add all the extensions in here?

Let's take one step back. What are you trying to accomplish? I am assuming you want to market one number but have the ability to accept multiple calls on that number. If that is the case, having the telco set up a hunt is the way to go.
Beyond that, where do you want those calls from the PSTN to route? Are you wanting those calls to ring a hunt group on your side? If so, you will need to do the following:
         1. Configure a Line group. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Line Group) This is where you will be adding the extensions. You will also need to specify a distribution algorithm. The distribution algorith, is where you will be choosing how you want the extensions to ring. For instance, if you set the DA to broadcast, every extension in the line group will ring at the same time. Click Help --> this page, while you are in the line group configuration page to get more information about the settings you can modify and different algorithms you can use.
         2. Configure a Hunt List. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Hunt List) You will need to create a new Hunt List and add your line group to it. The hunt list is evaluated in a top down fashion. You can get pretty tricky with multiple line groups with different distribution algorithms in your hunt list, but if you just want something basic, just add the line group you made.
         3. Configure the Hunt Pilot. (Call Routing -> Route/Hunt -> Hunt Pilot) The hunt pilot will be the dialed number that triggers the hunt group. Make sure you select all the required settings. You will be selecting the hunt list you just made in this configuration page. Be sure to set a maximum hunt timer and final destination so that the calls do not just ring forever. You can get pretty granular with the settings in here. Reference the help --> this page document for more information.
         4. POINT THE FXO PORTS TO THE HUNT PILOT. This is very important. Calls to your analog lines will not trigger the hunt group unless you point the ports to the Hunt Pilot. If you are using MGCP/SCCP you will need to enter the hunt pilot in the "Attendant DN" field for EVERY FXO port. If you do not enter a value here, CUCM will have no idea what to do when the port rings. It will not answer the call if there is no value specified. This would explain why your calls were ending up with the telco voicemail service; CUCM was never answering the call.
If you completed the above steps correctly, you should be able to call the main number multiple times and have the calls go to a hunt group on your side, no matter which line the call ends up coming in on.
Let me know if you have any questions, this can be kind of tricky at first.
PS, if the calls were going to a voicemail that wasn't from Call Manager (Unity Connection) call the telco and have them remove voicemail service from the lines, assuming you have configured Unity Connection to handle that.
    Hope this helps,
    Dallan

  • CCME Call Forward from one Hunt Group to another Hunt Group Failure

Hi I have a couple of hungroups in Cisco Call Manager Express. I am trying to configure a Call Forward no answer from one hunt group to another. Does anybody know if this is possible? If so, is there a config available? Here is my config, but it is not working.

  • SRST and Hunt Groups

    SRST ver 3.4.
Is their a way to provide a sequential hunt group that will also provide forward on busy and foward no answer (based on a timeout value) to the next avialable extension in the group (a group being five or more members)? I have used the alias command in the past, but seems to be limited on what can be configured.
    Thanks, J.

SRST does not have the hunt group feature, but Callmanager express has it.
In the new release of Callmanager express, CME 4.0, there is a feature called SRST fallback support using CME. You can use hunt groups in the SRST mode of CME.
    Excerpts from CME admin guide.
When Cisco Unified SRST functionality is provided by Cisco Unified CME, provisioning of phones is automatic and most Cisco Unified CME features are available to the phones during periods of fallback, including hunt-groups, call park and access to Cisco Unity voice messaging services using SCCP protocol.

  • # of Hunt groups associated with B-ACD and # Automated Attendants (AA) for UC560

This reference (from public site) states (3) AA and (10) Hunt groups
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps7293/reference_guide_c07-566560.html
This (harder to find document in supportforums) references (5) AA , but it does not reference (20) Hunt Groups. We understand from speaking with Cisco Partner Presales that the current firmware supports this, but we cannot find the published reference.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9656/

We are currently running 5 AA's on a 560 and have been doing so for a few months.
I cannot help with the hunt groups as we do not use them.
The 560 seems to support a bunch of features that can only be programmed using the CLI, I wish they would match the CCA up with these as it causes all sorts of issues if you do not remember what was configured using CLI vs CCA.
For instance our outgoing CLID was configured using the CLI as CCA only supports 15 entries where the CLI supports 100, which is great until someone opens the Outgoing CLID tab in the CCA and it over writes the CLI config.

  • Hunt group in CUCDM is ringing first extension in list when set to broadcast?

    I'm working with CUCDM 8.1.3+er1.
We have a Hunt Group setup that rings 4 extensions through broadcast. Each of these 4 users have each others line appearances on their phones too.
    Hunt Group example:
    0 - User1
    1 - User2
    2 - User3
    3 - User4
Problem is, when the hunt group is called the call will show up under User1 (or whoever is first on the list) and not actually everyone's line. I can change the order and the hunt group call will then ring only their line instead of broadcasting it out to the 4 users at the same time.
Is this a bug or a limitation on the platform? Where we cannot have users with line appearances of other users in the same hunt group...

    Hi
This configuration sounds odd - why do you need a broadcast hunt group when a call to any extension will ring all the phones anyway due to the shared lines?

  • Setting up Hunt Group using an extension number instead of a pilot number

    Hi Guys,
I would like to set up a hunt group. My question is can I use a real extension number assigned to a phone to be a pilot number instead of creating a new pilot number.
The requirements  are if no one is answering a call to an extension 1000 (extension 1000 is assigned to a user) it should be forwarded to 1001, 1002, 1003 and back to 1000. I was thinking of using 1000 as pilot number. Is that possible ?
    Thanks Guys

    Hi Guys,
Thank you very much for your suggestions. Here is what I have done:
With Manish's solution the call forwarding works upto the third phone then it got disengaged. Looks like there is a timer I need to increase so that the call will not time out. Could you please let me know which timer I have to adjust. I have checked the max forwards hops and they are set to 15-20 so don't think this is an issue.
With regard to Jamie's solution, I have created a separate partition and assigned same DN 1000 to it. It works great when I call from inside. However when I call it from outside using the full E164 number the call goes to 1000 then it just go to the voicemail of 1000 if not answered. I have removed the settings under DN page so that it will not go to voicemail. After doing this the phone with extension 1000 keeps ringing until it times out. Not sure where the issue is here.
I have given a suggestion to my customer to use a new pilot number with hunt groups. I have tested this as well. When I call it from outside the call goes to all the five phones and it just keep going into circle until someone answered and that's what I want. But when I call DN 1000 from inside it goes to all the five phones and when I reaches to the last phone configured under the line group member the call then just dropped out. Is there a way to fix this so that when someone just dial the extension number from inside all the phones keep ringing in circle manner and did not drop until someone has answered it.
    Thanks a lot guys.
    Regards

  • Hunt Group Rings Fast Busy After First Member

I created a Hunt Group per Cisco documentation that included Line Group, Hunt List and Hunt Pilot. The Line Group is setup with RNA Reversion Timeout at 5, Distribution Algorithm - Top Down, Hunt Options all set to - Try next member, but do not go to next group. I have 4 extensions in the Line Group Members list.
The issue I am having is that if I call the pilot number, the first extension in the Line Group Members list rings three times then goes to fast busy and never gets to the second line in the Line Group Members list.
    Currently running UCS 8.6.2.20000-2
Any input or thoughts is welcomed.

    Hi Wes.
This is the normal behaviour of a line group.
A workaround you can use is create another Line Group with the same extensions and the same selection order, another Hunt List and a new pilot.
Than you can use CFW no answer from one pilot to the other so that you can reiterate the hunting between line groups

  • 7961GE Hunt Group ringing name

Our shop has been exclusively 7961Gs for 7 years now.  We recently purchased some 7961GEs and are noticing that when a phone is part of a Hunt Group, the Hunt Group no longer displays on the inbound call.  On the 7961Gs it would say the From: <Caller> For: <Hunt Group> .
Our Help Desk personnel love the 1Gbit speed, but hate not knowing if the incoming call is for them or the Help Desk.
    Any help is much appreciated!!

    Hi Whammer,
    I'm guessing the new 7961GE's are running a pre - 9.0 firmware;
    It sounds like this bug
CSCth95017 - Configurable parameter on how callingparty is displayed for hunt groups.
    Description
    Symptom:
As of phone load 9.x and higher, calls to a hunt pilot show the following format for the calling party on the ringing phone.

    The previous format was
From 'Calling Party Name' ('Calling Party Number')
    i.e.  From John Doe (XXX-XXX-XXXX)
Need a configurable parameter to change the format to the previous format if the customer desires.

  • CallerID not correct when calling a Hunt Group #

Not sure what happened, but when users called the 4357(Hunt Group) the caller id would show "Helpdesk and also the callers name and ext" on the caller ID of the users in the 4357 (Hunt Group List).
Now when users call the 4357 the caller id on the (Hunt Group) end just shows the "callers name and ext".
We like when it would show Helpdesk along with the user info because we know the person is actually calling the Helpdesk and not calling directly. For example, my boss knows to only pick up calls that come into the helpdesk when he is the only one here, but now he is picking them all up because it looks as though they are calling him directly.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Aaron,
I have made the changes you told o make and its working now.
    Thanks.

  • AXL SQL Query user-extension- line group-hunt group mapping

    Hi all
I want to take an export  about user-extension- line group-hunt group mapping
Can somebody help me about it   I have CUCM 9.1

There's a lot of table joins in that full mapping! I'll break it down into steps. When you say extension you need to bear in mind that a number and a device are two different things, and a user is associated to these things separately. I'll break it down into chunks.
    User to Device:
    SELECT enduser.userid, device.description FROM enduser, device, enduserdevicemap WHERE enduser.pkid = enduserdevicemap.fkenduser AND enduserdevicemap.fkdevice = device.pkid AND enduser.userid='FOO'
    User to Directory Number:
    SELECT enduser.userid, numplan.dnorpattern FROM enduser, numplan, endusernumplanmap WHERE enduser.pkid = endusernumplanmap.fkenduser AND endusernumplanmap.fknumplan = numplan.pkid AND enduser.userid='FOO'
    Number to Hunt List:
    SELECT numplan.dnorpattern, device.name FROM numplan, device, devicenumplanmap, typeproduct WHERE numplan.pkid = devicenumplanmap.fknumplan AND devicenumplanmap.fkdevice = device.pkid AND device.tkproduct = typeproduct.enum AND typeproduct.name = "Hunt List" AND numplan.dnorpattern='FOO'
    Hunt List to Line Group
    SELECT device.name, linegroup.name FROM device, routelist, linegroup WHERE device.pkid = routelist.fkdevice AND routelist.fklinegroup = linegroup.pkid AND device.name="FOO"
    Line Group to Directory Number
    SELECT linegroup.name, numplan.dnorpattern FROM linegroup, linegroupnumplanmap, numplan WHERE linegroup.pkid = linegroupnumplanmap.fklinegroup AND linegroupnumplanmap.fknumplan = numplan.pkid AND linegroup.name="FOO"
All of this (and more!) is fully documented in the CUCM Database Data Dictionary.

    HI,
Do you deploy standard lync server or enterprise lync server?
If enterprise lync server, please log in SQL server and search the rgsdyn--dbo.ActiveFEInstance. Please check you can find the FE server FQDN and the port 8404 in this table.
Please running the Lync server logging tool on the FE server to find why the Response Group can not transfer the calls to the agent.
