What if your version of Acrobat X doesn't have File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additions as an option? How do you enable this feature?

Acrobat 7 is not capable of adding the necessary usage rights. It can only enable for commenting and the typewriter tool.
The ability to Reader-enable a document so that Reader can save a filled-in form was first available with Acrobat 8 Pro. I'm not certain what you mean by Extensions manager, but LiveCycle Reader Extensions is the other software that's capable of adding usage rights, but it is quite expensive and is probably what you're thinking about. So you'll have to upgrade Acrobat if you want to enable the forms. The menu item you mentioned in your original post is for Acrobat 10. For 9 it's "Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader".

It is not possible to change the extension in Muse at the moment. You can export the site as HTML and change the extensions outside the Muse.

I need the IAP functionality in my project. I've take the Inn-app purchase native extension by Adobe. During the developing process the extension worked fine. But when I've compiled my app for OTA (with corresponding certificate and provisioning file) the extension stops work. When the app calls purchase method nothing happens (when the app was compiled with development certificate and provisioning file I could run the full purchase process)

I've fixed the problem. It was related to the wrong configuration of the bundle name.

hello ptbruce, you probably only selected to open (not save) the video which will download it into windows temporary folder where it gets deleted again after it has been used. <br>you could try to right-click the entry in the firefox download manager and copy the link of the source file and try if you can download it through this url again. otherwise you'll have to contact the vendor of the video to find a solution...

Requested extension com.adobe.ane.productStore could not be found

I have a FLEX Mobile project. I have tried several FLEX and AIR SDK. I am currently using FLEX 4.6.0 and AIRSDK 15.0 that I downloaded from Adobe. I have added "Product Store.ane" to my build path. The ane file was downloaded from Adobe as part of Adobe Gaming SDK 1.4. I can import com.adobe.and.prodictStore in my actionscript code. My application description file contains the following:

<extensionID>com.adobe.ane.productStore</extensionID>
</extensions>
Why do I get the Requested extension com.adobe.ane.productStore could not be found error when I try to run my application?

While compiling my application on Flash CS6 with Air for iOS 3.4, I am getting the error given below:
The content cannot be loaded because there was a problem loading an extension: Error: Requested extension com.adobe.Vibration is not supported for Windows-x86.
I am using vibration.ane file which got it from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air/extensions/vibration.html)
Anybody out there who knows how to solve this problem!

1) The vibration ANE from Adobe does not support Windows.
2) The iOS simulator (adl) is not a virtual machine but rather it is a native Windows app, thus the platform your app runs on is Windows not iOS.
What Adobe needs to do to avoid confusing everyone is one of two things:
1) Include a stub for Windows (and MacOS) in the Vibration ANE.
2) Make it possible to deploy an app to a platform where the ANE is not supported, but produce a runtime error upon an attempt to use the ANE. The developer could then put logic in the app to detect the underlying platform and make adjustments.

New problem printing from financial websites - print button sends file to a "cgi" extension and adobe cannot open and print.

I used to be able to print my bank statements directly from the website to my printer. Now the print program sends the file to a file with a "cgi" extension and saves it on my desktop but as an Adobe file. When i open it to print, Adobe says it is not supported or corrupt. running windows 7 on PC.

I think I may be able to help you with this problem, which I was having with CS4 when I first upgraded to Lion, and others were having with CS3. This fix is courtesy of Aisolve on these discussion boards:
Remove the Adobe PDF PPDs from the following folders:
OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj,
OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj,
OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Ja.lproj,
OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/ko.lproj,
OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_TW.lproj,
Be sure to go to your system Library, not your user Library.
Also, regarding my current problem, I spoke with an Apple tech person and found that the 10.7.2 upgrade apparently is the culprit, and is incompatible with wireless printing to my Lanier printer. I CAN print connected through USB. That's a work-around for now, but I'll need to contact Lanier about upgrading their driver for OS X 10.7.2.
Aisolve was helping me with this issue, too, and assures me that if I'm able to generate a postscript file (which I was), and able to generate a PDF by distlling it through Adobe Distiller (which I am), then I can safely assume that the problem lies with the hardware, in this case the printer driver. This lines up with what Apple told me.

Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.

.jpg extension in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 please help

I am currently using Photoshop
Elements 7. When I went to save a photo, the .jpg extension has been dropped in the save as
dialog box. The only option I have is JPG 2000. I have installed the most recent update to Adobe. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the extension is still not there. I have gone to the patch area, reviewed the forums, and can not find a fix. Is there a place in photoshop where I could have turned off the option? Or is there a patch/update I have not seen? Thank you in advance for the help!

What type of file is your source file? Make sure it's no more than 8 bit.
If using layers e.g. to add adjustments or text you fist need to click layers > Flatten Image and then save.
It’s possible the image is just too big - try to re-size.

With the imminent demise of flash we would like to rebuild our extension to support HTML5 assets.

How do I download files with .dds extension in Adobe Elements 11?

I am trying to download a file with a .dds extension but I can't open the file. I've been told this can be down on the Adobe Photoshop element version 8, so I would assume version 11 can do it as well. Do I need a plug in to do this and if so, what kind? Thanks.
