External Attachment (pdf,doc,wmv)

Hi,
Presently working a project which need videos to be linked in
captivate .As these videos are large in size (eg:90 MB) so would
like create a link which when clicked would open that video in
default window media player.
Can some one please assist me on how this can be done .I dont
want to embed the videos but instead would like it to play on a
windows default media player.I will be publishing this project on a
CD.
I can open these videos and pdf on my computer where i create
the ..CP file with its resp s/w, but when i burn it on to a cd or a
dvd it does not open any attachments at all.(pdf, wmv ,doc).

I suspect that where Andrew lives, he is probably still
tucked in bed.
You need to edit the object you are clicking to open the PDF
or video. When you do, look closely at where you typed the file
name. To the right of that area you should see a button with a down
arrow on it. Click this button and you should see different
options. One is labeled "New". Choose the New option and the link
destination will open in a new window. This should solve your first
issue. Click the button a second time and you should notice another
option. It was there before, but was in a disabled state until you
chose the New option. This one is labeled "Continue Playing
Project". DE-select that and your second issue should be solved.

Insert attachment (PDF doc) into workflow

Hi.
I want to insert an attachment into a workflow. Via a webpage, the user upload the file (BIN format) and call a RFC. This RFC must start a workflow via an event. I think i can get the workitem so then, i can attach the BIN to the workflow.
Finally, the approver will have this document in the Business Workplace.
My problem is that i'm in a 4.6c SAP version and must use SO_DOCUMENT_INSERT or similar. Another problem is that i don't know if this function module is the correct one and also don't know how to fill its parameters.

Taking into assumption that you are uploading the attachment from a webdynpro application, As I am not aware of Webdynpro's but when you use the UPLOAD element of the WD's then the uplaodded content will be in the BIN format and in the WD App you can make use of the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW Fm to call the workflow and pass the content to the workflow.
In the workflow create a Activity step and a Z Bo and Z method where you will be creating the attachment by using another FM SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_ADD and pass the result back to task from method and from task to workflow and attahc the object to the item , for which you are sending to the agents so that he can be able to view the Attachment.

Hi,
I would like to know what font type, you are using in the forms.
Ideally it should be HELVETICA .
If you are using any other font in your style/form,try changing it to HELVETICA & Test.
Also Check the OTF data at the call of gen. FM,before converting it to PDF.

Attach .pdf and .doc files to Reply emails.

I am desperately trying to figure out how to attach .pdf and .doc files to Reply emails in the Mail app. I have downloaded GoodReader, but when I go into "Manage Files" and choose "Open in...", Mail is not one of the apps listed for me to choose from (only Quickoffice and iBooks are listed, that's it). My Gmail account is pushed to the Mail app, if that's relevant at all.
I'm hoping to be able to attach documents to Reply emails in the Mail app, but if I have to do it using my web-based email, that's better than nothing. I just really need to be able to attach them to Replies, and not compose a new email from scratch.
I'd REALLY appreciate any help with this!

I thought I might be able to figure out a clever work-around by using cut and paste from a new message but this did not work as expected. I have been using the MobileMe iDisk app to store pdf files and then just mailing out the links. I believe my cut and paste method would have worked with this, however I've got about a year now to figure out another way to do this if it is not included in Apple's new cloud service. This has actually been a better as I need to worry less about file size and don't need to have the files stored on the device.
You may want to look into what on-line file storage solutions are out there and if they have the ability to send links to files to colleagues, possibly with password protection.

I cannot open all email attachment files(pdf, doc, etc) in Mail on my New IPad. I installed all viewer apps but I am not able to click and hold to select the option of viewer apps to open the files. I dont get the "open with" option when I click on the arrow in the menu bar. I can open attachment files on G-mail website from Safari though. It is really ridiculous that I cannot open the files from Apple Mail app! What's wrong with it!!

We cannot possible know what's wrong with it. But we can offer suggestions that might help.
Try resetting the iPad - its like rebooting a computer.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This might help as well.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again

Files, PDF-docs, attached to my email, Macbook Pro, are missing

The files, PDF-docs, that I attach to my mail, Macbook Pro OS 10.7.5., are missing when the receiver opens the mail.
In this case the receiver is a MS Windows/Office user.
Weird problem! Any idea for how to solv this?

i have the same issue, i do not want to use Microsoft outlook, i want to use mac mail.
i have a PST file which its size is around 18 GB, i used PST Converter PRO, but it converted the PST file to a folder contans subfolder and files, the size of these folders are 68 MB.
i tired to import this new folder to mac mail, it was giving a message that will be discplayed under folder name "Import", but unfortunately, there was nothing added.

You select the printer properties and set the appropriate page size (I think there is a place to set it in PDF Maker too, but not sure). In the printer, this is equivalent to putting the proper paper in the printer.

I can't open (show)the attachment pdf or doc in the IPhone 5

When I try to open a mail attachment pdf then the screen chang but I can't see the pdf file. Also with doc and xls. When I open the same mail attachment in my IPad3 iOS6 its working fine.

Hmmmm...... It seems off..... but I also have just realised I haven't actually recieved any files (PDF, Word, Excel etc) since I got my iPhone on Friday.
I'm going to test in now.
(Also on this forum..... 99.9% of the time a hard reset seems to work haha!)

urgent Issue while attaching the docs/pdfs to the user.

Hi Experts,
I am attaching the docs to form/guide in the workspace and submititng the form to the next level approval.
But the problem here the attachments are not coming to next user.Actalluy the attachment tab is coming and disappearing
suddenly when the next user opens the form in the workspace.
At workbench we are getting attachments as output but attachment tab is not coming to user in the workspace.
We did settings say checked attachment at ACLS section for Assign task activity.
Please let me know if I am missing any settings here or please provide materail .

How to send an external mail(PDF) through SCOT

Dear All,
                 We have a requirement to mail customer invoice converting the smartform into a PDF. All the neccesary configuration that needs to be done in NACE and SPRO transactions has been done.Now when we issue the output through an output type through transaction VF03, output is successfully issued.In SP02 also it shows the printing is successfully completed.
                 But when i want to want to check the display log aginst the
output type and billing doc issued it says dat the processing log dosnt exist.We have configured the SCOT transaction for sending external email but it doesnt send the mail and even doesnt show any request in waiting and as well as no errors so we are not being able to identify whether the configuration done is wrng which doesnt seem to be the case or is dere a problem with SCOT configuration.
                 Could any1 pls help me with the entire flow of configuring SCOT if possible with screenshots for sending external email . or if possible wat is the possible problem we are facing...

2. Maintain the Mail IDs for all vendors in Vendor Master(check the ADR6 table)
3. Do the settings for sendiing mails in SCOT and SOST tcodes with the help of Basis person
4.In NAce also use medium 7 instead of 1 (print)
5. In the application doc Po Me22 N also configure the output type with the medium 7 for the partner(vendor) and other sommunication method settings.
6. CHeck the print program, I think it will consider the Medium and set the communication type automatically. check it by keeping a break point if it is not working.

I have a strange problem.
I need to download a pdf doc from DMS. I got the external bapi call that returns the file binary data as array of 2550 length rawdata ('x') type.
I convert this into XSTRING and use filedownloadUI to open it.
Works FINE!!
However, the

A problem with my mail in 10.8, crashes on scrolling down a PDF doc

Hey guys,
I've spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone today attempting to resolve this issue, fingers crossed an answer may be out there.
When I attached a PDF doc to an email, it embeds in the message, no dramas does take a little while to load it on, then when I scroll down the email to make sure it's the correct doc, the spinning curser of death shows and then 3-4 seconds later the email scrolls down but slowly loads sections of the PDF. At times the mail app crashes when it does this.
It doesn't matter about the file size or amount of pages (one page 87kb, or 10mb 6 pages) it always 'skips' or 'freezes' even on sent items.
I have:
unistalled Adobe, through my PDF's are all controlled by Preview
rebooted in safe mode etc and run by another user
done the whole CNTRL, OPT, SHIFT, P, R thing
hold down P and PWR and waited for 2 beeps
plus everything else
New to MacBook etc and I'm about to throw it as I can't opperate like this and costs me deals!
Any help, hints etc would be appreciated.

Hi - I'd guess that the adapter you bought is the problem ...do you have another to try? Also, having a guitar cable plugged into an 1/8in. adapter into your Macbook isn't the greatest situation as it really doesn't take a lot of cable movement for there to be a LOT of pressure on that small jack - which could easily screw up the insides. If you do try another adapter I'd suggest one with a longish/small cable attached so that you can plug your guitar in and not have any force on the jack at all.
I too can get a signal this way (I have active pickups), and when I switch to the Macbook's speakers as the output the signal is delayed quite a bit. I use (and really recommend) the Griffin iMic for any real work with Garageband or the laptop in general - the USB signal is better, the cable doesn't pose a problem (as mentioned above) and if you're looking to record other sounds it can handle both line and mic levels ...and of course the price is great. The next real step up from this is a firewire interface of some type.

Create Link to attached PDF file

Hi guys
I am having a nightmare!
I have been provided with a Word document which contains links to embedded PDF documents. It all works lovely, you click on the link in the word document and up pings the embedded PDF in a new window.
My issue is that I now have to turn the Word document into a PDF to put on our website.
I have tried numerous ways of PDFing the Word document but none have been successful in maintaining the embedded PDFs within it. When I open the PDFd Word Doc it can see that there is links, but when you click, nothing happens.
I have accepted there probably isnt a way to do this, so I came up with an alternative plan of saving all of the embedded PDF links to my hard drive, PDFing the original word document, attaching the embedded PDFs to the main parent PDF and linking to them.
HOWEVER! I cannot figure out how to link from the main PDF to the attached PDFs. I can create a link but there doesnt seem to be a way to set it to open the attached PDFs (which ideally should open in a new window ..) ARRGHH!

Sounds like you on a Mac. And Adobe has let this bug go on for 15 years with no intentions of fixing.
Take the word File and if You have Apple's Pages (part of the iWork package) and Open there (will be imported)
Verify That your formatting has not been changed. (Making sure all links work.)
If not changed, create the PDF from there.
Go to Print Menu
Click on PDF and Hold
When window pops up choose Adobe PDF
Follow directions as the Pop up.
All your Links should be live. IF they were live in the Pages file.
It seems after 15-20 years Adobe programmers haven't learned various codes Word uses to make links, and. Even 2011 which used parts of Office 2007 and 2010 to create it. the only difference were UI (User Interface) and key mappings for short cuts.
