External authorization for Adobe LC

Hello,
I'm new to LC and I'm trying to understand the authentication and authorization modules of LC. I see that Live Cycle can use external authentication. I would like to know as to whether Live Cycle can use an external authorization mechanism as well?
eg: I have a web portal that is running on CAS SSO and Spring Security. I would like LiveCycle to participate in this SSO and there by I should be able to use the common set of roles defined in Spring security to be used in LC. I see that this is possible in Rights Management module (as per the documentation), can this be applied to the whole of LC?
Any help / pointers on this would be sincerely appreciated.

During Adobe configuration I encounter serious trouble in determining the needed authorizations. We implement basic Adobe forms initiated by managers.
Can anyone please instruct which SAP ECC roles are needed for executing Adobe Interactive forms?
Situation
We assigned the Adobe roles:
SAP_BC_CM_USER
SAP_ASR_MANAGER
The manager has also assigned authorizations to view PA objects for subordintes.
With extended authorizations I can start new process. However, when the process is started with same user but with the authorization mentioned above I receive the following error:

Hi Tom,
When you are familiar with authorizations in PFCG trabsaction you are finaliar with S_DEVELOP if not ask the authorization team on your project.
Basically this authorization object handles the read/write etc authorization related to devlopment objects. If you implement Adobe forms you will probably develop your own forms or at least copy the SAP forms to customer namespace.
For Adobe you will therefore have 2 custom development objects (1 for the form and 1 for the interface that is automatically generated). The end-user shoulf have at least READ access to these objects. If not the portal will trow an error on this.
To determine the tech names of the objects find the form and related interface in transaction SFP. These should be inserted in the object S_DEVELOP in the role for the end users.
You may want to consider to put the value Z* in the object which will give authorization for all the custom developed objects.
If you can't find the object reply again and i will send a screenshot.
Finally, make use of the splended transaction ST01!! It will make your life a lot more easy in portal! It traces all the authorizations needed and missing for any user you specify. After activating the trace and running a portal scenario the log will tell you want went OK and what not on an authorization object level.

Advice request - which external HDD for Adobe Lightroom?

I'm going to buy myself an external hdd this week, and I would be very grateful for your advice.
1) I'm shooting with Nikon D70, Canon A520, and my mobile(;]).
2) After over 1 year of shooting I have ~130GB of photos taken with these cameras + I have some negative from analog times, which I'm going to scan (I estimate them to be next ~20GB)
3) I would like to keep all of above photos on external hdd and import them into Abobe Lightroom (tagging + developing), and and of course apply retouching to some of them in PS CS2.
4) My computers are : old PC desktop with XP, on which I will be only viewing these pictures, and IBM T43 with Vista on which I'm going to do all the developing. [Yes, I know that Apple is better, and I love Apple, but I can'tafford one yet].
Given above assumptions, which external hdd from the ones I've preselected should I choose ? I'm on the budget here, and the ones that I can afford are :
WD My Book Pro 250GB USB 2.0/FireWire400/FireWire800 16MB Cache
WD My Book Premium 320GB USB 2.0/FireWire400 8MB Cache

I'm asking mainly because I don't have any idea about how fast should a drive be to work with Lightroom with decent speed.
Also : should I buy FireWire controller for my T43 laptop, or will USB 2.0 be enough for my purposes ?

Either a PC or MAC is fine, but you've entered a field where affordability is proportional to the number of photos you manage, the type of processing you perform and the level of security you are comfortable with. This is entirely separate of your budget.
USB2 and/or Firewire Drives work fine. From your list, I've owned both the LaCie Porsche and a WD MyBook. They both failed for different reasons. All hard drives will eventually fail. If you can't afford to lose your photo library you need some sort of redundency. The reliability of that redundency (RAID) and or speed of retrieval determines what technology is the minimum you need to afford. Or, if you have more time than budget, you can archive on DVDs. Keep in mind that even DVD's will fail over time.
The faster the drive, the faster the backup (redundency), the faster the throughput, and the faster you have access to managing and processing your image library.
Did I answer your question: No. However, whatever you get, and assuming you value your photos, make sure you get two of them so you can build some redundency into your budget. If you're feeling lucky, get the largest drive you can afford and make sure you leave yourself a lot of time for those backups.

You cannot, nor do you need to.
You can have up to 5 computers authorized. When you reach 5, you can deauthorize all.

Adobe just billed my credit card without authorization for Adobe Cloud using the information they had from my photoshop order.

Very scummy billing practices. I never authorized Adobe cloud to be billed to my credit card. They simply used my credit card information obtained from my Photoshop order. I want a full and immediate return of all funds. At this point I will also cancel my Adobe Photoshop order.I will certainly spread this on the web as well

In addition to pixel density, you are up against the translation driver card in the TV.
If you read the fine print of computer-resolution-capability in the TV user guide, you will see a chart as tall as the manual page. At the top is the smallest resolution capable, at the bottom is the full use of the 1080p in the TV.
Mac falls into the top 25% of the page, maxing out at 1366x768 often. This is because the TV control card is expected to do too much of the work, but is not designed for computer-monitor processing.
I looked at the resolution charts on 2 TVs before deciding to buy a 1080p LCD monitor that has a TV interface/connector. Computer monitor first, TV second. But the thing is only 27 in. Good thing TV is not as important to me as it is to others.

For your Adobe ID you probably need to log in again, if you don't have your password fill in your mail and choose forgot my password. if your mail address is known they send you a new password, if the mail is not known simply create a new Adobe ID, it's free.
But you should really contact Overdrive itself or look at the help pages on their site

How to format external drive for use against windows and mac

Please bear with me, a possible MAC newbie here
I'm about to buy the 13" Mac Book Pro (after ditching the Lenovo X301 because of a super slow processor, slow FSB, slow intel graphics).
But I have a couple of questions before I buy this Mac Book Pro.
NOTE:
My main OS (stationary pc) is Windows, and will probably be so for a long time.
But I need a lightweight laptop while on the run, and could not actually find any other one than the Mac Book Pro that met my requirements.
I'm using Adobe Lightroom for indexing and managing images on my windows stationary computer and will also use Lightroom on my Mac Book Pro.
I'm to use an external HDD for this purpose and will need to be able to both write and read to/from that HDD from both MAC and Windows.
Export lightroom library to External HDD from Windows (thumbnails + keywords).
Import new images and edit keywords etc from mac book pro in lightroom.
Import changes into my windows library version after been edited from library in mac book pro.
What options do I have when it comes to formatting that HDD?
What will the PROS and CONS be for the different options?
Note (I'm not to switch to Aperture (my main computer is still Windows))

Want to use external drive for new Mac, fresh iTunes

So I recently got a new Mac and have not transferred any music to it yet. In fact I haven't even launched iTunes. I want to store all of my music and play it from an external drive. I have found articles detailing how to transfer your library from your internal drive to an external one but I don't have an internal library of music on this machine. How do I set up iTunes to play from an external library for the first time? And how do I add my backed up music from my previous iTunes to that external drive's new music library? Do I just drag the files into the folder and hope iTunes will recognize them?

the files will have to be added to iTunes. however, with the correct settings, they can be put straight on the external.
in order to set up iTunes on the new Mac, you will have to launch it. with the external drive mounted on your new Mac's desktop, go iTunes > preferences > advanced and point +iTunes media folder location+ to the external. this will cause iTunes to put all newly added content in that location.
also on the advanced tab, check +keep iTunes media folder organized+ and +copy files to ... when adding to library+.
And how do I add my backed up music from my previous iTunes to that external drive's new music library?
did you back up the music to disk ? if so, you should probably authorize iTunes with your iTMS account details, then just pop in the disk(s) and add the content to your library.
if you have backed up to an external HD, use the +add to library+ command from the file menu and navigate to the folder containing your media files.

I have been told that I can perform a mail merge similar to MS Word from within Acrobat Pro 9. The main document (with merge type fields) needs to be an Acrobat .pdf. The data source can come from an external file. The key is that the merge is performed in Acrobat, not Word.
I have searched throughout Acrobat Pro 9 but have found no functionality that matches my needs. Can anyone help me with this?

… in there, you'll find some not-so-known 'tricks' to fasten the process of synching, such as using Markers (not 'on beat' just 'approx').
I tried with my multicam soccer-recordings = no music (aside the referee's whistle ), and FCPX managed indeed to synch this stuff - impressive!

Coreid External Authorization Plug-in Issues

We have a requirement to externally authorize the user during the login process.
We have written an external plug-in in .Net and copied this dll into the Coreid installation folder(under lib folder). We have created a new Authorization scheme to include the parameters and paths for this dll.
The issue is that, this plugin is not getting executed at all, authentication happens and when its turn for coreid to call the external plug-in, it doesn't. we dont see any errors, the browser shows it is still processing. The logs for this plugin are not modified. from which we came to a conclusion that coreid is not able to acess this plug-in at all.
Do we need to do anything else so that coreid can access the plug-in like installing this dll into GAC etc.
Has anyone faced this issue before, can you please help us out.

Did you get any resolution on this issue. I think I am facing a similar issue: when I run the access tester for a resource protected by a custom authz plugin, I get a pretty generic error and no logs where I think they should be. My plugin is in c#. I get the same results with the Oracle sample, too.
