External battery pack for Classic + Belkin TuneTalk Stereo?

Can anyone recommend an external battery pack that would connect to the Belkin F8Z082-BLK TuneTalk Stereo recorder attached to an iPod Classic?
I need to double or triple the recording time in the field, which is only about 2 hours at the moment.
The external battery pack will have to provide power over the mini usb port in the bottom of the TuneTalk device.

OK, so looking into this a little bit more, the charger that comes with the iPhone is marked "iPos USB Power Adapter". It has an output of 4V @ 1A.
The old iPod Firewire charger I have and the car charger I have are rated at 12V @ 1A, so I'm going to stop using them post haste.
Yikes!!

Have a look here for the sizes and prices.
It is however, much better to get a USB external drive that comes with it's own power adapter to avoid issues when or if your USB port can't supply enough power to your external drive.
That issue however does happen rarely but it does happen.  Especially when connecting other devices to your other USB port while your external hard drive is connected to your other usb port.

It will NOT work with the 2nd Gen Shuffle...think about HOW the Shuffle is connected to a powersource: through the headphone jack on its dock, thus rendering the headphone jack useless for connecting headphones to it. • External battery packs for ipad2

I have been looking at numerous external batteries to recharge my iPad2. Any ideas on which one's are best?

The mother of all battery packs. ISound 16,000 mAH. I bought one last year and I love it.
Customer support can't be beat either, my first one had an issue with the power switch, I called them and 3 days later I had a brand new unit and they let me keep the original, no hassle, no questions asked.

  • Using or building extenal battery pack for the Mu

I would like to build or buy an external battery pack for my Mu-Vo. I go on long trips and don't always have access to power. I'm thinking of building a pack that runs off of AA's (rechargeable). The documentation that I've been able to find says the units uses 5V. The battery pack would generate 4.8V. Would this work? Has anyone built such a device? Is there one commercially available?
    Thanks

If you use 4x2300 or higher NiMH batteries you can get a number of recharges/extended battery life from one charge.
I have a couple of these very handy gizmos, and with the right adapter cord can run a JB3 down to a MuVo?4 / Micro or TravelSounds.

  • Belkin tunetalk stereo with classic?

I am having a weird problem with Belikin Tunetalk stereo & IPOD classics.
I've asked Belkin & Apple & had nothing useful.
    Anyone add anything?
    background:
Been using Belkin tunetalk stereos (2) with 2 Ipod 5G (video) for more than a year. They work ok: [given the well know issues of harddrive noise picked up with internal microphones.] Anyway works for me, recording signals.
Two modes available: "low" 22050 MONO & "high" 44100 Stereo
I always want the "high" 44.1 k samples per second & two channel as I record multi-channels with multiple IPODS (not always sounds)
Had an ipod die on me, so upgraded to classics.
Recorded away, got nothing but 44100 MONO. Not supposed to be able to do this mode & since I was recording TWO channels, I lost data. Belkin site says for classics only with the lastest software".
I've reflashed the ipods multiple times I one ipod records only mono (BLACK), the other (SILVER) records about 1 in 10 mono. Of course you can't tell till you're done whether you're going to get mono or stereo!
    (1) Any one know if I go buy TWO MORE ipods, eg nanos, will these things actually work?
    Alternatively, anyone know enough about these things to answer any;
    (2) Does the tunetalk have firmware? Could it be a Belkin problem?
    (3) Any way to get Apple to acknowledge the problem? So maybe a fix comes out?
    (4) Should I go hunting for 2nd hand 5G ipods?
    (5) Any material difference between class black & classic silver that might account for them both starting out 44.1 MONO & after reflashing * 5, one recording only mono & the other recording randomly 44.1 stereo or 44.1 MONO?
    (6) Any difference between shift-update & shift-restore in iTunes to provide a firmware file?
    (7) Any explanation of the flake-i-ness why flashing multiple times is needed & ?
    (8) ANyone seen this issue & on "high" setting, worked out what triggers 44.1 MONO & 44.1 Stereo? If I can play with it enough to just get it to always do stereo anyway then it becomes painful, but workable.
    (9) Anyone seen mention of similar anywhere?
    (10) Any hints?
Please not the "check you have latest software", "upgrade the firmware", thanks, helpful, but been there!

I had a 30G video iPod which worked perfectly with the TuneTalk Stereo mic. When I bought the 160G classic, there was no voice memo software. Then the software was added on an automatic update, and I used it without a problem until May and June. I teach privately and had my year-end recitals yesterday and was VERY disappointed to find that the second recital did not record, even though at the time it looked like it was recording. The time is there, just no sound. They must have done something to cause that in the last software update, since I am not the only one that it happened to. I even charged it in between programs.

  • External Battery pack

I know there have been external battery packs utilizing AA and AAA batteries, has anyone used one with their Touch? What were your experiences?

    Hello,
I bought one of these out of a bargain bin in a local high street shop for £6:
    http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Backup-Battery-Pack-iPod/dp/B00009KAPW
Works fine with my 1st Gen but be prepared for how massive four AA batteries are compared to the slinky iPod touch. I bought four rechargeable AA batteries at the same time to miminize the environmental impact.

  • IPod 5G video + Belkin TuneTalk stereo recording don't function

iPod 5G video 30Gb + Belkin TuneTalk stereo recording don't function on firmware 1.2.1
every 48 second it skips for 1 - 2 seconds in HQ MODE
Belkin say: It's how Apple manage the write from storage to hard disc
It's a shame that this is already more then 5 mounths !!!!
no possibilaty to downgrade the firmware..;(
1 not one note on Belkin.com site (they still sell it !!)
    or
    2 on Apple update site
NOTE here on the discussion from januari 2007 !!!
When I record in stereo, it skips through out the recording. I'll be listening to what I have recorded, and I'll notice that chunks of about 3 seconds are missing from the recording
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)   G5

actually a very similar problem here. the recording was 35 min and it jumps and skips down to about 7 min. I thought it was a problem with the wav file that was recorded so I converted it to mp3 to and the same problem.
i do have firmware 1.2.1 but had never successfully used it before this attempt. did you ever get any resolution on this?

  • Can I use an external battery pack on my 17" Mac Book Pro?

    Hi
This may sound like a crazy question, but is it possible to safely use an external battery pack on my Mac Book Pro?.....specifically a Bescor Video Light battery pack which I can just plug my a/c power cable into. This would be very useful in the case of a local power failure (which actually may just happen tonight, as we are currently in the middle of a blizzard).
    Just wondering......
    Thanks,
    Anneita

Yes, you can use external battery packs — but I wouldn't use one that I wasn't perfectly certain was very carefully controlled.
External battery packs specifically designed for MBPs:

Another option, designed to protect sensitive equipment from power surges and enable uninterrupted computer usage during AC power outages and irregularities, is called an +uninterruptible power supply,+ and the leading manufacturer of such devices — which incorporate storage batteries of various capacities — is APC:

  • What's the best external battery pack to bring when traveling abroad?

We're planning on going to Europe for our honeymoon and figured we'll probably need our phones to get around, translate things, etc and would hate to be in the middle of nowhere with a dead phone. Which external battery packs would you recommend? I'm open to getting more than one....one that's small and light and bring with me, and another to keep at the hotel.
    Thank you!

My favorite (and I have 3) is MyCharge: http://www.amazon.com/myCharge-Peak-6000-Rechargeable-Power/dp/B008PQAFTM/ref=sr _1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1410566545&sr=1-1&keywords=mycharge.
The reason is that it is the only one that has a built in charger to recharge the MyCharge itself. Simply flip out the prongs and plug it in to any US outlet or any foreign outlet with a plug adapter. No separate power supply to carry around (and potentially lose). It also has built in plugs to charger other USB devices. You will need a Dock to Lightning adapter from Apple for the iPhone 5 and later, but it works fine with that also.

  • External battery packs

Does anyone have a recommendation on a good external battery pack? I'm pretty sure my video usage will zap all the power on an upcoming overseas flight, so I'm looking at investing in the PowerStick by Audio Outfitters. Anyone have any experience with it? Or with others?
    Thanks for any suggestions!!

I was still going to go for the PowerStick, but it wasn't available. I got the TuneJuice instead, as you suggested, Deggie, and it worked fine. I haven't really put it to the test yet, but it seemed to do the job ok. Thanks for the tip. I would give you a green star, but it doesn't seem to be available.

  • Apple iPod shuffle External Battery Pack

Has anyone used this? It sounds like a cool idea especially for travelling where I can't recharge. does it use just regualr AA batteries? (on Amazon, it says AA in one place and AAA in another.)
