I'm running a 1.42GHz iBook with a 14" screen, but I'd like to work with at much larger display at my desk. Can anyone help with advice and recommendations? Thanks...

If it's in your budget, the 20" Dell widescreen display is quite nice - I'm using one right now. It has both DVI and VGA inputs, so I have both PC and Powerbook connected to it. It also has component video and S video inputs, with the ability to do picture by picture or picture in picture.
Whatever you get, just remember it needs to have a VGA input. You can't go from VGA to DVI.

I have tried repeatedly to use the Apple Hardware test on my iMac desktop 10.7.3 early 2009 4 GB with no luck. What am I doing wrong? I have everything I can think of unplugged. Do I need to disconnect BlueTooth in Preferences?

I would like some help drawing a circle over an image which is displayed in JScrollpane through JLabel, The goal is, whe we click over the image, the image apperas with a small circle in the place we have clicked. I have used JLabel for displaying image in JScrollpane by using imageLabel.setIcon(new ImageIcon("default.jpg"));
I need to draw circle/rectangle when i click on image by this i need to select different points in the image by drawing circles/rectangles over the image.

When connecting to an external projector, an old image is displayed and will not update. I am working on a 2009 Mac Book Pro.

External vga, monitor recognized, still no display

I have a L R60 9461-DXG, with Win7 (32bit) running very fine.
Now trying to use an external monitor (L171p) but nothing works.
While in boot and in combination with Fn+F7 the display doesn't come up (staying in power saving mode).
In Win7 the external connected monitor is recognized and displayed as a L171p, enabling the monitor is possible but again the display doesn't come up.
Is this a driver error or could there be a hardware malfunction?
Installing (Vista) Ati Mobility Radeon X1400 drivers from the L site didn't solve the problem.
Please help.

Not necessarily, but the probability of receiving a solution from other members, who are also using a similar setup, is most likely better here.

Need help in displaying a region in a page

I'm looking for the following scenario.
Scenario:_
2 Regions "region_ABC" , "region_XYZ" are dragged and dropped on EM page "PAGE_1". When the "PAGE_1" is displayed first time only the region "region_ABC" will be displayed. When a specific radio button of the "region_ABC" is selected another region "region_XYZ" needs to be displayed in that page "PAGE_1".
I tried to use the Partial Triggers which didn't work. Please provide valuable suggestion/pointers.

This is the typical case for you to use "Control Flow Case".
You need to create a Bounded task flow say: task-flow1. In this task flow, region_ABC and region_XYZ will be 2 Views in it. Then drag and drop a "Control Flow Case" onto this task-flow1.xml between view: region_ABC and view: region_XYZ. The outcome of the "Control Flow Case" can be anything you like in literal: "ABC2XYZ". Next, go to your region_ABC.jsff file, click on the radio button, and go to its property editor. In the "Action" attribute, put "ABC2XYZ" there.
You drag and drop the task-flow1 onto your EM page "PAGE_1".
That's it!

MBP is missing the "Display" icon in Sys Pref, Display PrefPane file needed

I noticed that my "Display" icon under >Hardware, in the System Preferences is suddenly missing. It should be between "CDs & DVDs..." and "Energy Saver" icons. I think I need the Display Preferences Pane. Can anyone send me a copy, I don't have another Mac to copy it from (except a really old 10 yr imac running System 9). I don't know why it is missing, but I can't calibrate my display without it. The "display.prefpane" file is located under system>library>PreferencePanes. The file is part of the OS X system therefore it's proprietary to Apple. Furthermore, it's a violation of the Apple Software License to install OS X on more than one CPU at a time (for a single-licensed copy. The Family Pack allows up to five concurrent installations.)
As the AD belongs to Apple it would be against the Terms of Use for us to enable any of the above. Thus, it's both inappropriate to ask as well as to send.
That's my interpretation of the software license. You may choose to interpret it differently or even ignore it, but such actions are best left off of the forums.
I would be more than happy to inquire of the moderators and report back what they suggest.

Needs to be displayed in US format, instead of EU

The tolerance limits characteristic, 0TOLERANCE, needs to be displayed in US format, instead of EU. ie. 5.000,00 needs to be changed to 5,000.00

These are user display settings and can vary from user to user , thats why its maintained in the user master. I guess this is the only place where you need to maintain it , probably someone else can share if there is something more specific.

You are looping through the whole empy table with this cursor:

I think you mean this:
CURSOR C1 IS
SELECT EMP_USERNAME,E_PASS,AUTHORISE_CERT FROM EMPY
WHERE emp_username = user
You don't need the loop, just open, fetch into and close.

I need IE9 to display 1st frame of embedded movie file

I have embedded a .mov file into my site. The movie itself, the first frame is a photo. On safari & firefox on my mac, the video appears with the photo as the first frame (which is what I want). However when I view the page on my mum's windows laptop using IE9, the first frame is black. The video plays fine, I just need it to display the first frame rather than a black frame.
The code that I have used is

Yeah.... works fine for me in IE9 also.... eventually. The problem may be that you are not waiting long enough to view the video, especially if you are on a slow connection.
The video file is NOT being progressively downloaded... meaning the entire file must download before the first frame displays. The reason for this is most likely that the MOOV ATOM is placed at the very end of the video file... so the vid player doesn't get the signal to start playing until the very last part of the video file is downloaded.
This is a common problem with many Quicktime video files. There are a number of ways to "swap" the MOOV ATOM from the back of the line to the very front... start here:

Another method is to open the vid file in QuickTime Pro and re-save the file. This will usually correct the index problem.
