External Entitiy with mixed GW2014/2012 and LDAP Auth

Hi,
our GW System is in transition from GW 2012 to GW2014 - primary domain and three domains are already 2014, the remaining 16 domains are still 2012 SP2 - all running with LDAP authentication. According to the documentation one should now use the GW2014 Admin Webconsole, not ConsoleOne for administration (except for some domain level tasks).
Today I had to create a GW-Only user in a 2012 Post Office (formerly External Entity), so I created a new user in the admin console i the respective POA - worked - and I set a password... BUT when I try to log in with the new user, the GroupWise Client says: LDAP error. The POA log shows that the POA tries to authenticate the GroupWise user (only) against LDAP...
Doing the same in a GW2014 POA works as designed and old (migrated) external entities continue to work as designed...
How could I now create a External Entity in a GW 2012 post office?? Should I use ConsoleOne?
Anyways, we try to move up the schedule to migrate fully to GW2014.

Yes, I in this case I think it's your best bet.

  • It is compatible Obi 11g  with Windows Server  2012 and Sql Server 2012?

    Hi every
    Please help with two questions.
    1. - Obi 11g is supported on Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012?
    There a compatibility matrix which mention compatibility with versions 2012?
    2. - is feasible to install Obi 11g in separate server and install weblogic on another server?
    I appreciate the prompt response
    Regards
    Pedro

    Hi Pedro,
    As of November 2012 Compatibility Matrix released by Oracle for OBI 11.1.1.x Windows 2012 and SQL Server 2012 were not supported. It was supported on 2008 Windows and SQL Server.
    We can have weblogic and OBI server's on 2 different machines. The approach is to opt software only install. the link below will give more details:
    http://obieeelegant.blogspot.com/2012/07/obiee111160-software-only-installation.html
    Let me know if this helped.
    Regards,

  • RDP with 802.1x, machine and user auth and dynamic VLAN

    Hi,
    we have 802.1x implemented with machine and user auth. We also use dynamic VLAN assignment. Our client is AnyConnect 3.1. Operating system is Windows 7. With Windows XP, it works just fine.
    When we try to connect to the 802.1x auth desktop with RDP (desktop is machine authenticated, no user is logged in), we are able to authenticate but as soon as VLAN and IP address changes according to user authentication profile, RDP session is terminated. It is not just disconnected but remote user is logged out and AnyConnect reverts 802.1x session back to machine VLAN. We cannot login with RDP and just loop between machine-user-machine authentication.
    With this behavior the TermDD message (ID 56) can be seen in system log. Following the response
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/b7814ec3-6a49-469c-8773-909c50415942/the-rdp-protocol-component-x224-detected-an-error-in-the-protocol-stream-and-has-disconnected-the
    , I was able to get rid of TermDD message but I still loop in machine-user-machine authentication.
    The following is TermDD message:

    If we do not change VLAN from machine to user, it works just fine.
    Have anybody seen this problem? Have anybody fixed it?
    Thanx, Martin

    Hi,
    unfortunately not.
    I have gone through extensive troubleshooting from Microsoft and Cisco sides twice and the result is:
    1) AnyConnect performs EAPol logoff when it detects RDP session termination. So it goes from user to machine authentication
    2) Windows 7 performs RDP session termination when IP address changes due to the change of VLAN (from machine VLAN to user VLAN)
    Cisco claims that AnyConnect behavior is correct and Microsoft claims that they do not want to change this behavior (reset of RDP session).
    I can imagine that Cisco can detect whether RDP session was terminated due to the IP address change or not and do not revert back to machine authentication in such a case.
    In fact there was nobody at Cisco that was willing to listen to me or accept this like something that needs a fix. The only thing you can do is to enable "Extend connection beyond logoff". AnyConnect does not send EAPol logoff if it detects RDP session termination and you can establish another RDP session which does not fail and you stay connected with RDP.

  • Cannot output audio via headphone jacks with Mac Mini (2012) and Boot Camp

    Hi all,
    I have a brand new (2012) Mac Mini with a Boot Camp partition running Windows 7.  It's connected directly to an HDTV via HDMI cable.  I have external speakers hooked through the headphone jack on the back.  The speakers work fine if I'm in the Mac environment, but I cannot get the audio output to go through the headphone jack while in Boot Camp/Windows- it will only go through the speakers on the TV.  Any suggestions?  I think I've downloaded every driver I can think of, and the installation of Windows on the Boot Camp partition went well otherwise.  Thanks.
    John

    Nevermind, I was missing one driver.  Installed it, fixed.

  • Is it possible to have a dual screen setup with an iMac (2012) and an iMac (mid 2007)?

    Hello Everyone,
    I have two iMacs. One is a 2012 model and the other is a mid 2007 model. Would I be able to use the mid 2007 model as an extra monitor?
    I was going to purchase a mini dvi to mini display port cable and see what happens but I think it would be a good idea to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks for any suggestions!

    The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    I am thinking that won't work. The older iMac's video port only goes on direction - out. It won't take the signal from the newer iMac. You might be able to do something with this software;

  • Getting Dynamic Context Sensitive Help API to work with Visual Studio 2012 and 64 bit?

    We have RH 9.
    Our developers are working on implementing RH's dynamic CSH API inside of our software product:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WSa7dd8288c271d662-26f4398e12b0c229082-8000. html
    The instructions our developer found say:
    Call your Help projects with the function RH_ShowHelp. The source code for this function is contained in the support files which you import into your development project. Languages supported are Visual Basic, C/C++, JavaScript, and Java. The files are in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp [version]\CSH API. The files are:
        CSH API\RoboHelp_CSH.cpp (C/C++, dependent on the .h)
        CSH API\RoboHelp_CSH.h (C/C++, dependent on the .cpp)
    I zipped up the CSH API from my RH 9 version and sent it to the developer. We're using Visual Studio 2012.
    But now the dev is asking, "Is there a newer version? This one doesn't compile in win32 without me making some tweaks, and doesn't work at all in x64..." and "Is RoboHelp10 an option? 9 doesn't seem VS2012 compatible or x64 compatible."
    Does anyone know if there are there is a later version of the API available that works for 64-bit / VS 2012?

    Hi,
    The RoboHelp 10 API should work for WebHelp created with RoboHelp 9. Since the RH10 API will now support Multiscreen HTML5 (introduced with RoboHelp 10), I imagine it will work with VS 2012. But I’ve not tried that. You can try the RH10 API, but Adobe won’t support it
    Alternatively: A colleague of mine created a custom C# API some time ago. That might work for you: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/blog/2012/08/03/custom-webhelp-apis

  • Creating external drive with mac/Virtual PC and ex-wintel drive!!

    OK, I hope I can make this as clear as possible to get some assistance, as it's not too clear in my head!!
    I'm a long-ish time mac user, my girlfriend not. Her wintel machine has recently hit some problems (looks like fried motherboard) and it's a grand opportunity for her to get going with a mac. She has a lot of word docs/pdfs etc on the HD from the wintel machine (PhD reseracher). If I put that (20GB seagate) drive in a USB/firewire enclosure will I be able to access the relevant files (using virtual pc-do I need to use that?) to connect and get them onto a mac????
    Any help much, much, much appreciated!
    Best

    Easing reluctant PC users into our much better way of life is a technically easy endeaver. The largest obstacle, however, is the PC user, themselves. It's unnerving for them to see this wildly different user interface and think that their PDFs, Docs, email, bookmarks and more can move to the mac just like they can.
    If you're talking about taking the Hard Drive out of your girlfriend's PC because the rest of the PC's hardware is funky, I understand that (although buying a fresh HD down the line would be good, since the old one has seen significant non-OSX wear and tear). But if the PC boots fine but merely is sluggish and crippled, you can have her NEW MAC(!!!) network to the PC for the great file migration. Just her knowing that the files are the same and came from a computer she is familiar with could help turn the trauma into the eye-opening experience she deserves.
    I'm close to certain that OSX will be able to connect to and read the file structure of an external Firewire device without Virtual PC.
    Good luck and have fun.

  • Problem with Security Role mapping and LDAP

    Hi,
    In Oracle Internet Directory I've created a group called OIDGroup1.OIdGroup1 has 2 users : OIDuser1 and OIDuser2.
    OIDGroup1 is mapped to EjbRole1 (is a security role defined in ejb-jar.xml, EjbRole1 can do everything in the application).Now if I login as OIDuser1 or OIDuser2, application said that the user does not
    have authorization to execute some method. The mapping in my orion-application.xml is :
    <security-role-mapping name="EjbRole1">
    <group name="admin/OIDGroup1"/>
    </security-role-mapping>
    <jazn provider="LDAP" location="ldap://myhost:4032"><jazn-web-app auth-method="SSO"/></jazn>
    if I modified orion-application.xml like this :
    <security-role-mapping name="EjbRole1">
    <group name="admin/OIDGroup1"/>
    <user name="admin/OIDuser1"/>
    </security-role-mapping>
    then login as OIDuser1, it works. But it does not work with OIDuser2.
    That's is a problem for me because our customer can not manage the user/group
    easily : each time they have a a new user, instead of simply adding this user
    in the OIDGroup1 (with graphic interface of OIDAS), they have to modify
    orion-application.xml.
    Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks in advance
    regards

    I found the bug : in LDAP I've got a user also called OIDGroup1 (the same as group's name).

  • Updating and Loading a  Matrix Row with Mix of DB and Non DB fields

    Hi
    I'm using SAPB1 2005 SP1 PL14 with B1DE 1.3
    I have a matrix on a form that was generated by the UDO Form Generator. The Matrix contains data associated from a Document Lines table.
    The underlying table and (therefor the matrix as well) only had 1 user field (column)
    I've added a set of additional (read only) columns to the matrix together with supporting non db user datasources for each column. I've bound the new columns to the user datasources.
    The new columns are only informational and should display data associated with the actual db field (column) in the matrix.
    I require assistance / advice with 2 requirements:
    <i>Requirement 1.
    When loading the matrix, I'd like the non DB columns to be populated with data associated with the actual DB field.</i>
    <i>Requirement 2.
    When Adding / Updating the actual DB field in the matrix, I'd like the Non DB columns to be populated with the assocaited data.</i>
    I've managed to get requirement 2 working by using a matrix onValidate Event. (not sure if this is the best approach?)
    Any idea how I can achieve requirement 1 ?
    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi Trinidad,
    Putting the additaional columns in the table will result in me storing redundant info in the specific table.
    The values are already stored in other related tables and I'd just like to display them as additional info fields.

    Thanks! Regards, Gautam

    You need to check the DTC Connectivity between your DC and DR SQL Instance. The Linked Server requires DTC connectivity. Secondly this activity is better done from the SQL Server in question (the DC server in your case).
    You can also manually add the Linked Server. Refer
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ms188279(v=sql.105).aspx - Linking Servers and
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ff772782(v=sql.105).aspx - Creating Linked Servers.
    After having created the Linked Server(s) you can run the log shipping configuration again BUT using @fLinkServers = 0.

  • External HD with Mac OS Extended and FAT32

    Hi,
    I have partitioned my external harddisk using Apple's Partion scheme into 2 partitions. The first I formated as Max OS Extended (Journaled) and now I would like to format the second as FAT32, but somehow this is not possible: either I can choose PC Partition scheme and resign using Mac OS Extended or use Apple's Partition scheme and resign the FAT32 part.
    I would like to use the first partition as a backup for my Mac and the second to transfer data between Mac and PC - sort of a big memory stick
    Any suggestions please?

    Hi,
    good tip! Doesn't look too complicated, but uncomfortable if one has to mount the disk manually each time.
    I decided to use HFSExplorer to access HFS file system from PC (if I can download it from somewhere).
    Thanks anyways,

    Thanks
    Brian Timothy

    Hi Brian
    which datasource u r using?
    i think u used read only LDAP + Databse
    when u chang the password for user in portal than after corresponding user password in LDAP directory are not changed thas't why it's generated a message that
    password expires and u can't change the password
    so try to change the password in LDAP also.

  • User Profile Disks with Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 VDI

    Hello experts!
    We are building a new server setup for the office and are unable to figure out why UPD will not work. We have VDI setup and a user for instance
    connecting through the RDWeb workplace will dynamically get one of the available Windows 8 Machines delivered through Hyper-V and can successfully login on this machine via Active Directory. So far so good...
    However, when we activate the User Profile Disks "UPD" feature the login takes forever and the VHDX will not mount on c:\users\...
    as expected within the virtual Windows 8 machine.
    The UPD config is quite simple, with just the path "\\vmhost\upd\" set. This share has (now during test) full access for everyone,
    both on share level and on security level, but still the VHDX will not mount.
    The UVHD-template.vhdx file gets created just fine when UPD is activated, and during login through RDWeb a TEMP-UVHD-S-1-5-21-1477358240-4159876597-995667825-500.vhdx
    gets created, but there it stops... The login process takes a couple of minutes by the "Windows förbereds" (roughly translated to English "Preparing Windows"), and then the user gets logged in with a temporary profile.
     - The event log says (translated using Google translate):
    Failed to obtain a user profile disk for the user account with SID S-1-5-21-1477358240-4159876597-995667825-500.
    Make sure the location of the user profile desk can be reached, the server's computer account has read and write permissions to the site and that there is a template file for user profile disks at the site.
    Name of the virtual desk"font-size:14px;font-family:'Droid Serif', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;color:#222222;line-height:23px;"
    />HRESULT: 0x8007007B.0
    Please help, it should not be that hard to achieve this.

  • Is it okay to copy files from my Itunes folder to an external drive with my ipod connected and Itunes open?

    I'm backing up my Itunes library and dragging files from the Itunes folder on my computer to my external hard drive. Is it okay to do this while Itunes is open and my Ipod is connected to the computer charging?
    I'm on a windows 7 computer.

    You should always close iTunes before any backup operation on your library.  Your iPod will continue charging (but make sure any sync operations have completed before exiting iTunes) - doesn't have to be removed while backing up the library.
