External graphics card problem with fm2-a55m-e33

I just bought the fm2-a55m-e33, everything is working fine with the board. I was planning on using my old 9600gso but when I plug it in nothing happens. Windows doesn't recognize the hardware and nothing will display out of the card.
What is the deal?

  • Were there graphics card problems with the 2006 Mac Pros?

I'm curious about the ATI 2600 graphics card issues occuring with the new Mac Pro's using Leopard...
Did this just start occuring or were people also having problems with the NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT cards on the 2006 Mac Pro's while running Tiger?
The reason I'm asking is my Dual 867 has finally given up the ghost and needs to be replaced and I have the opportunity to buy a new 2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Mac Pro with Tiger loaded in lieu of the newer, problem ridden models.
    Thanks for your responses.

the 7300 has had no widespread problems.

  • Graphic card problem with pavilion g6 2132 tx.

During the purchase of my notebook i.e. pavilion g6 2132tx i was told that it holds two graphic adapters i.e. Intel hd 3000 and ati radeon 7670 bt whenevr i run any application or game or even in the system info it tel only about intel one's,i want ati to be my default graphic adaptor so it could enjoy bettr graphics

Are these the proper specifications?  I somehow doubt they are correct as very few notebooks, in my experience, actually came with FreeDOS as the OS.
What is the product number of the notebook?

There are two approaches to switchable graphics: dynamic/fixed  and manual.  The dynamic/fixed mode is determined in the BIOS setting and will choose whatever card is deemed appropriate for the given application on the fly.  It can changed to a fixed mode in BIOS where the AMD card is set as the only video card.
The manual mode is the more recent and more common setup for switchable graphics.  I call it a manual mode, but I'm not certain what the official name for it is.  This is where a user can right-click the desktop and select configure switchable graphics.  Here, the Intel or AMD card can be selected.
This is similar to the image below.
There is a check box for automatically select power saving GPU when on battery.  If this is checked, the system will automatically switch to the Intel card when the charger is disconnected.  This is generally enabled by default.  If this is unchecked, the notebook should remain on whatever card was set as the active card regardless of connecting the charger or not.
This document should give some more information regarding switchable graphics.

  • FM2-A55M-E33 and Dual Graphics

I purchased a MSI FM2-A55m-E33 Mainboard, AMD APU (A8-5600K), 8 GB Kingston HyperX Memory and a MSI Radeon 6670 viseo vard to do a CrossfireX budget gaming rig.
I have 2 Problems, the memory can not be set over 1333 MHz, if I set it to 1600 in the bios after about 10 minutes of playing wow, the game closes, if I set it back to default (1333) it runs fine.
2nd problem, when I first set up the PC, and started to set up the bios after 20 seconds the PC would restart. I had the video card plugged into the 6670 card, not onboard, this happened 2 or 3 times so I decided to plug it into the vga on the mainboard, no more resets...so I thought...hmmmmm.
Anyway, set up the bios, logged into Windows, downloaded the drivers, set it all up for dual graphics, restarted the pc. Plugged the monitor in the 6670 (as recommended by amd) and no video, pc boots and goes into windows, but I have no video, so I plugged the monitor into the onboard video and viola, it works.
So, next I turn off dual graphics in the Catylist software, reboot pc to just use the 6670 until I get this figured out, plug the monitor into the video card, guess what...no video again. I can only get video from the mainboard, never from the 6670 video card.
I have been tinkering with this all weekend to no avail, its driving me nuts.
    My setup:
    MSI FM2-A55M-E33 Mainboard
    AMD APU A8-5600K (Unlocked)
    8 GB Kingston HyperX 1600 Mhz DDR3
    MSI R6670 Video Card
    Thermaltake TR2 600 watt PSU, 2X 12V Rails
    Seagate Barracuda 640 GB HD
    Lite-On DVD R/W
P.S, I laready updated the bios to ver 10.1, it didnt fix anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you got the wrong card for "duel graphics".
I'm sure it can't be higher than a 6570 model with a A8-5600 and that's why it isn't working as it should!!
You can now only use the 6670 once you set i in the bios or simply try to exchange it for a 6570.
Yup, what you have integrated graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7560D, recommended what you need for dual graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6570
    http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/dual-graphics/Pages/dual-graphics.aspx#3
Although that RAM is primarily meant for Intel Sandy Bridge system with 1600 XMP profile it's possible it may be OK for your system but you would have been better off getting RAM for AMD system instead. When trying for 1600 did you bump up voltage from 1.5V to a bit more  like maybe 1.55 to see if it would run stable?
Research for proper component compatibility goes a long way to eliminate problems such as what you are having.

  • FM2-A55M-E33 Bios Problem

    Hello!
I recently bought a system with below Specs.
    Main Board: MSI FM2-A55M-E33
    Bios Version: 11.1
    Video Card: None
    PSU:  Thermaltake 480w
    CPU: AMD A6-6400k
    Memory: 1 x HyperX Blu 4GB 1600
    SSD/ HDD: WD Green 500GB
    CPU COOLER: DeepCool Gammaxx300
    Operating System: Win7 x64
after assembeling and turning on power and entering Bios, through Utility Tab > M-Flash upgraded the Bios from 11.1 to current version 11.5
Now that i've installed win7 x64 and want to OC, i see "CPU Ratio" and "Base Freq" is locked! while my CPU is Black Edition!
What's the problem? Is it normal?!!!
Is it because of upgrading bios using Richland CPU?

Did changing multiplier work before the update? Have you tried +/- keys to alter settings?
    Thanks for response
No i didn't check it before Bios Update
Unfortunately yesterday my MB didn't boot and seems bios is damaged. I sent it for warranty, will comment what happened.

  • Msi fm2 a55m e33 build problem

Recently I helped a friend build a rig.
    The setup as follows:
Case: cooler master elite 344 with usb 3.0
    Mobo: msi fm2 a55m e33 / amd a6 6400k richland processor
Os: Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
The problem after I built finish, my friend complained of no sound.
I got her to download and install the latest system and chipset drivers but didn't help.
Got her to download and install the latest sound drivers from the msi driver page but still didn't help.
So I told her to check the case and she told me that there is a small black speaker that I didn't connect to the board. So I told her to connect it to jfp2 according to user manual. Still didn't work. I suppose that speaker is meant for the beep.
As far as I know about the audio aspect of the cm case, it has a hd audio and an ac 97 plug connected together into one single plug. Tried both on jaud1 but still failed.
Not exactly sure where the fault came from.

  • FM2-A55M-E33 won't boot if LAN cable fitted, black screen with 99 in rh corner

Just bought a new Zoostorm 7872-1212/A computer, which has the MSI FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard.
I installed and registered Windows 7, and download all updates etc without any problems last night.
Started it up this morning, and it didn't post.
All I had was a black screen, with 99 in the bottom right corner.
Switched off, then tried again, still no joy.
Removed all cables, re-fitted just mouse, keyboard and monitor, and it started.
Powered of and refitted LAN cable.
Powered on - black screen and 99.
Powered off, bought new LAN cable, fitted it into another port on my router, powered up, black screen and 99.
Thinking it's a BIOS setting, opened BIOS
Set Sata drive as 1st drive, DVD as 2nd and disabled all other drives
Set wake up events to BIOS, RTC disabled, all other events on
    Saved and powered of
Started up, and still back screen and 99
    Anybody got thoughts?

  • PCI wireless card does not work after restart - FM2-A55M-E33

Installed TP-LINK WN751ND wireless PCI card onto FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard. The card works fine after cold start, but does not work after restart. Windows recognises the card, but it gets code 10, cannot start.
BIOS is updated (v.11.1), as well as drivers and Windows 7 64.
I suspect that this might be the issue: Incorrect ASPM Transitions on the GPP Interface as found in ChipsetMotherboard_TechDocs/48671.pdf on AMD's official support site.
Does anyone know more about this issue?

Great! I've done that and now my card shows up. Thing is, when I try to get an IP address, it won't work. Here is the command output:
ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_config: change monitor mode: false (implement)
    ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_config: change power-save mode: false (implement)
    ieee80211 phy0: wl_ops_bss_info_changed: qos enabled: false (implement)
And then it times out and no IP is assigned. The thing is, wpa_supplicant stays alive after this time out, and I am unable to kill it (killall -9 wpa_supplicant won't kill it). At this point if I try to reboot the machine, it will stop at 'Rebooting' and won't go anywhere. If I turn off the wireless card in its switch Linux crashes. If I try to get an ip again (by running dhcpcd) the command will hang and not return to the shell anymore.
I am unable to find any useful information in the logs.
    Got any more suggestions?
Thanks! (And sorry to disturb so much)

  • Multi-screen with a  powerbook G4 ? need an external graphic card or ...?

    hi
im on powerbook G4 of 2003.
want to have either a very large display screen(28 or even 30 fts)or maybe two or three external screens ...dunno yet , depends of your answers ...
is a 1920x1200 resolution like the 28 fts viewsonic screen will overload my internal graphic card ? if not ? can i try an 30 fts even if i will not use the native 2500x ... resolution of course ..
if yes ,any of you guys know an external graphic card , powerfull enough to support 2 external screens ? any recommandations ?
    ty all for your help

Assuming your PB is the original 2003-vintage with a 1.0G video processor and 64MB of video memory, the Apple spec sheet shows this:
    ===========
    Video and graphics support
    • --NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go graphics processor
with AGP 4X support and 64MB of DDR SDRAM
video memory for 2D/3D graphics acceleration
    • --Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously
supports up to 1440 by 900 pixels on the built-in
display and up to 2048 by 1536 pixels on an
external display, both at millions of colors5
    • --DVI output port
    ===========
Yours may have an ATI video chipset; run System Profiler from your Utilities folder to find your exact video processor details.
Beyond that, you may need to contact ViewSonic to see if there are any "gotchas" that would prevent one of their monitors from working on a 1G machine.
    This Cardbus adaptor:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Viewsonic/VTBOOK/
Gives you another display port with 32MB VRAM.

  • Mail (4.6) in OS10.6.8 shows several photo attachments with discoloration, distortion (jagged lines, splotches of color, etc.). Could it be a graphics card problem?

My mother-in-law's MacBook Pro 13 (m2009) Mail (4.6) with OS 10.6.8 shows several
photo attachments with discoloration, distortion (jagged lines, splotches of color, etc.).
Could it be a graphics card problem?
Or a bad unpacking of attachments over poor WiFi/Internet?
If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate your help.
    Thanks from Japan!
    Dan

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The better your description, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

  • FM2-A55M-E33 upgrade bios with richland

Is there any way to upgrade the BIOS on my FM2-A55M-E33 with A4-4000 APU?  I don't want to have to buy a Trinity just to upgrade to the latest BIOS with Win 8.1.

There is no reason for rma if nobody guaranteed you that your specific sample will work with Richland out of the box. That the board is able to run Richland cpus of course does not mean it will with any bios version. Vendors have boards in stock. They don't open any box so any board in stock is updated to the latest version. It is common sense a board manufactured before Richland support may not include a Richland supporting bios.
    paynej1,
some FM2 boards will not completely work but post with Richland and allow to enter bios. Only those can be updated without a Trinity cpu. For all others you need a supported cpu or having the board flashed by a pc-shop or MSI.

  • FM2 A55M E33 upgrade concerns.. :)

Hi just a few questions before i buy anything..
At the moment what I have is:
    MSI FM2 A55M E33, AMD A8 - 5600K, 2 X 2GB 1333 RAM, Deepcool GAMMAX200 Heatsink, 500GB HDD, Generic 600w PSU, Cheap Case.
Now, I'm planning to upgrade the Video Card and RAM this week, and I don't know what to get.. But i think from what I plan I may need a new PSU and CASE.. (Will get Thermaltake Commander MS1 - this one, i think im sure)
My budget is below $300 (VGA, RAM, CASE, PSU).
The guy from the store told me that I would have a problem running 1600 RAMs on my FM2.. I didn't bother to ask him so I'm asking here..
Would a Powercolor HD 7790 work on my unit?
Im sure i would need to upgrade my PSU but how many watts should i get?
    Thanks!

So something liker (Kingston HyperX Memory 2 x 4gb Ddr3-1600 Cl9) should work?
    Yes
Quote from: thinkx on 14-September-13, 06:26:25
Would this PSU -- Seasonic S12ii-520 Power Supply 520watts S-Series -- be enough?
Yes but I would suggest you attempt to get a unit like that but around 600W as it will give you some headroom as that one is good on both but is close on the minimum wattage so may be a little unstable over time as it ages!

  • Fm2-a55m-e33 can't run Hyper-V

I'm installing Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Standard and tried to run - virtual machine with Hyper-V role - and it fails.
I've tried to install Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V role, and after installing Hyper-V role - OS won't bootl.
All checks says to me that my CPU AMD Athlon X4 760K - support all virtualization technology.
I've checked that SVM mode is Enable in CPU features.
I've tried to turn SVM off, shutdown with cable, turn on, shutdown with cable, tried to reflash BIOS, reset BIOS with jumper - EVERYTHING FAIL!
Please, help me instruction or provide BIOS FIX.

I wrote everuthing the same to MSI support.
And gues what they just answered me?
Regarding your concern,Regarding your concern, from your description,we are very sorry,it hard to determine what causes the problem currently, would you please test your system and cpu first to check if they are meet the requirements to run Hyper-v (please enable the SVM in bios)?
You can use software EVEREST Ultimate Edition(you can download it from internet  ) to check your CPU,it should be support three characteristics:
