External HD for TM moved to AEBS: what happens?

Hi all
I just bought a 1 TB USB2.0 External HD. First I connected it directly to my Mac. When TM made its first (full) backup, I reconnected the External HD via my AEBS. Starting TM again at that point, TM did not recognise the backup just made and TM starts to make a new (full) backup.
Looking in 'shared' I see a folder Backups.backupdb, with a subfolder 'iMac from Rob', made during the first TM use. And, I see a file "iMac from Rob_0016cb9b944d.sparsebundle". This file was made after TM started to make its 2nd full backup after reconnecting the HD to the AEBS.
- What is the difference between these two backups?
- When trying to delete the first backup file (as I only want to use TM via AEBS) AEBS crashes !! and needs to bee rebooted to get going again. Is this normal?

The .backupdb folder is for direct (USB/Firewire) backups. The .sparsebundle is for remote backups.
Wipe the drive to get the extra space back, then connect the drive with ethernet for the first backup-it'll be faster than wireless, and still be able to use that backup.

I'm moving to Canada from the UK, what happens to my iTunes account, can I convert it to a Canadian one and keep the same username and password and also keep all the content I currently have on my iPhone/iPad?

One possible reason is have you synced to your computer's iTunes recently ? If so then it might have replaced the books that were on your iPad with those that are on your computer's iTunes library.
You should be able to re-download them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, or via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes and then sync them back to the iPad : re-downloading. If you re-download them directly on your iPad then you may want to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, so that you have a backup copy of them and to see if it stops them disappearing from the iPad again when you sync (assuming that was the reason why they disappeard).

Adobe AS3 SDK for Facebook are in SWC: what happens if I need to customise?

As the Adobe AS3 SDK for Facebook are supplied in precompiled class libraries, in .SWC files, they are closed.
What happens if I need to make changes to the classes, extend them etc? I've noticed that you can also download the Source from:

Is it possible to use the uncompiled source isntead of the .SWC?And if yes how would I go about doing it?
Just asking as the SWC also has some graphic compiled into it, which isnt present in the Source folder.

If i just simply include the classes from the Source, then i get the following error:

I am on my fifth computer for some of my purchases - what happens now?

I have had my iPod since 2006 and during that time have changed computers several times.
I am now on my fifth authorised computer for the purchases made then, and am wondering what will happens when I buy a new computer.
Do I have to download all my purchases on to discs and them re-upload them onto the new computer?
or if I put all my music into Itunes match, will it automatically accept my new computer?

You can individually deauthorise computers directly on them (via the Store > Deauthorise This Computer menu option), but with 2 or more computers authorised you should also be able to log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.
You should be able to continue re-downloading your purchases - but as there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store (record companies, as well as film studios etc, occasionally remove their items from the store), then you should also be keeping and maintaining your own backup of your downloads.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an external HDD for an Ipad?

Best way to do that is to download the movies on your computer. Then when you want them sync them over to the Ipad(before traveling). Thats what I do. Its the fastest way.
You could store the movies or all of Itunes on an external HD. To save room on your computer(if thats getting full). Just move the Itunes files to your external. Then downloaded movies from the computer will save there.
So its back to either from your computer or downloading from the "Cloud". Only thing again the HDD is going to do is save room on your computer if you have alot of movies. Apple Tv streams, so thats no help in this case.

What happened to STARBUY for Zen Vision M 60 GB scheduled for today Dec 2 @10

I participated in Nov's starbuy, didnt manage to get anything and after it, I checked back a couple of days later and saw that Dec starbuy was scheduled for today 2 Dec at 0pm for Zen Vision M (Black) 60GB. But just logged onto Creative Online Store and didnt see the link for Starbuy. Anyone know what happened to it's? Does this mean no more starbuy from now on?

I also was eagerly watching for the starbuy that you have referred to on Dec 2 at 0pm. I must say I'm disappointed with what Creative has done. Sure, they have every "right" to withdraw their offers but they did not bother to inform the public about it. I personally checked the website patiently from 9pm to 030pm thinking that maybe they were getting ready to upload the website with the starbuy. But NO the stupid link kept going back to the creative homepage. And they sneakily removed all the advertisements to the starbuy.
What p**ses me off even more is that if you check today, they have sneakily changed it to some "SoundWorks 500DAB" which is a new item but nobody's ever heard of before or is probably interested, compared to the ZVM 60GB. It's quite big (it's not a mobile player, .92kg, looks more like a mini-compo) and only plays "Digital Audio Broadcast" (what's that?) and FM Stereo. Hello Creative? What era is this? Who wants to buy this only to leave it at home to listen to the radio or DAB? It's not mobile, it can't play MP3s or video or photo. Or even CDs.

Why they decided to pull the ZVM beats me. I have no idea. And why Creative has started selling what looks like basically an expensi've radio (ie, they are going back in time) beats me even more. As echoed by many Internet reviewers, compared to Apple Ipod, Creative's MP3 players are pretty good and they should focus their attention on that, try to make them even smaller and longer battery life, more functions, more codecs, better screens, BUT what we see is Creative di'versifying and designing/manufacturing so much new products that they may not have a market for.

Dpi: what happens when an image is re-saved from 240 to 300 dpi?

When I open my images in Adobe Raw, the images are 240 ppi. What happens exactly when I change the setting to 300 ppi in the Adobe Raw. For printing many companies ask for 300 ppi. And what happen if I re-save old images again in Photoshop after processing with 300 ppi, will the picture become unsharper? I cannot see a difference. Thanks for your explanation.

Interesting question and I hope I understand what you're asking
An image in and of itself has no size. It is built out of square pixels of indefinite size. They could be one micron, or the size of a city block.
An image only has a specific length and width once the pixel size is established.
To illustrate open any 72 PPI image. View: Rulers. Change the image to 300 PPI with resample disabled. The pixel data of the image is not altered, the only thing that changes is the ruler around the image.
My guess is that the change from 240 to 300 in your example does not change the pixel result. What does change is the size of the file. The higher the PPI, the smaller the physical file dimensions. A 240 PPI image that is 10" by 12.5" would equal a 300 PPI image that is 8" by 10". Either one of these qualifies as a 7.2 megapixel image (2400 x 3000 = 7,200,000 pixels in the image).

Biggly2000 what happens if you initiate the download again? You are directed to choose the download location at the time of download. If you have chosen a different location such as an Application folder or Program Files then the installation files will not be in your downloads folder.
I would recommend reviewing Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant for several common errors which occur when using the Adobe Download Assistant.

What happened to Developer/2000?

I'm sorry for this dumb question. What happened to Developer/2000? Was it taken off the market, was it replaced, or am I just blind and it is still available? When did this change happen?

Unlike Microsoft I guess Oracle figured that 2000 would sound pretty old after 2000 so it became Developer 6 and now Developer 6i and soon Developer 9i ...

Switched phones. What happens to the stolen one?

I switched phones for the time being. What happens to the stolen one? will it still work with the Find my iphone app? Or will is not work since is is not activated? It was previously suspended until I switched to an old phone. Is this phone still suspended or was it the account that was suspended?

I may be wrong, but TM wont let you select something unavailable for back up while you're using the "exclude" preference. Unavailable items are grayed out.
Only TM volumes and volumes not formatted OSX Extended are shown that way.
You do have to click show invisible items but the .trash file can be manually selected for exclusion. That seems a fair indicator that by default TM is backing up your trash.
