External invitation via email in Convergence

I often getting invitations from external contacts via email e.g. from Outlook with ics file appended. Is there any way that this invitations can be accepted and that the event will be written in my calendar. This would really help to cooperate with Outlook world in a much better way.

Actually, the recently released Comms Suite Update 5 (7.0.5.0.0) now has iMIP/iTIP support in Convergence 3 which allows users to accept or decline calendar invitations through email.

To subscribe you need to be signed in to iCloud on:
an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6 or later, or
a Mac with OS X 10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
So I have Mac OS X 10.8.5 and iPhoto 9.4.3 installed.

What happens when someone forwards photostream invite via Email.
I would ultimately like to send directly to parents of my kid's sport team - however the manager says the distro changes alot and it would be best if I send her the invite and she forwards off.
I'm sure there are a mix of IOS and Android users but I'd like the IOS users to benefit from having it in their iPhoto programs, and the others can opt to go to the URL provided in the invite. Are there any issues with the manager forwarding the Photostream invite? Any experiences to share when sharing photos taken at a game?

You will need to create a Public Photo Stream since many of the parents will be on PCs. Here's how:
With that scenario the email will look like this:
The link at the bottom will take the user to the website. Or you could go to the website yourself, copy its URL and incliude that in an email to the manager for forwarding on.

We are currently testing iCal server and have configured it to send out invites via our mail server (which is running on a different server) by creating the com.apple.calendarserver user on our mail server.
Email notifications are then configured under the Enable Email Invitations tab in the iCal service of Server Admin as follows:
IMAP
Email address: [email protected]
Incoming server: mail.mytest.com
Port: 143 (not using SSL)
Username: com.apple.calendarserver
Password: secret
SMTP: mail.mytest.com
Port: 25 (not using SSL)
Server requires authentication
Username: com.apple.calendarserver
Password: secret
My test OD users are able to send out invites both internally to other iCal users and externally via email.
So for example, I invite someone to a meeting and enter their gmail address ([email protected]), the invitation goes out correctly - when I log into gmail I see the invitation.
When responding to the invitation (clicking Yes), the mail server receives the response from gmail and the iCal server collects the message via IMAP.
However, the iCal server doesn't seem to parse the received email correctly as I get the following error in the iCal error logs:

I have set a rule on our mail server to bypass any spam filtering for all messages sent to the [email protected] address, but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
Does anyone else have this working ? Any ideas ?

The issue is not "user authorization". The issue is that the 3rd-party service does not accept all incoming relay requests unless there is authentication with a registered account (which we have). This protects the 3rd-party service from becoming the relaying host for the universe's spoofed and anonymous spam. My deduction is that there is no mechanism in UTL_MAIL to designate not only the 3rd-party ip-address:port (by-passing the local sendmail server) but also providing the username:password for the account there for authentication.
Plan A: I have attempted to follow directions for client-side SMTP Authentication for Relaying on the sendmail.org site.
I have not been successful in completing a simple mailx interactive test, much less completing a UTL_MAIL configuration.
I am scouring the user universe for someone who has put all the pieces together successfully and can advise. . . .

Calendar invitation received via email just disappear without getting into the calendar?
- How can I change so they will stay in the inbox after I answered the invitation?
- Can I delete an invitation in the calendar without sending any information back to the person that invited me?

How do I send calendar invites via email or IM from (the new) iPad?

I do not have a mobileme account (and can not sign up for one, because subscriptions have been discontinued.)
So how do I send an invite out to an event that is on my iPad calendar? (I do not have an iPhone, yet...) Is it possible?
(Should I start using another calendar app? I'll take suggestions...)

Send an iCal event via email ?

I would like to send an invite via email, so that the recipients can just click on the
link and add the event to their calendars.
I have created a ".ics" file and clicking on a link to that works, but: the iPhone
offers to subscribe to a calendar. Why can't it simply add the event? I can
see it getting messy if a user starts subscribing to too many calendars...
So the question is: is there a way to craft a link so that clicking on it
just adds that event to the existing (default) calendar?

1). Export the list to memory
2). Import the list from mempry
3). Do a COmpress of the data
4). Send an email as an attachment using the normal FM.

Synching Invites Via MobileMe

All of my synching of iCal is via MobileMe. Four devices are involved: iMac, MacBook Air, iPad and iPhone 4. Most items synch across all devices flawlessly. However, since the 4.0.2 and 3..2.2 updates for the two "i" devices, there is a problem.
Specifically, if I receive an iCal invite via email, it will add to iCal on the iMac just fine. Shortly, it will appear on the Air. BUT it will not show up EVER on the iPhone or the iPad. Any events that I originate on any of the four devices synch fine without any problem or delay. Anyone else have this problem or a possible solution?? (P.S. I have not updated to the "new" MobileMe.)

Reset the iPad, then try syncing.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't help, Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Try syncing.

ICal Server sends invitations via external email but no RSVP

I have set up a fresh install of Mavericks Server (10.9.3) running DNS and OD Services and now enabled iCal Server.
I setup invitation of external users via an external email address and invitations get sent and delivered via email just fine so I guess plus-addressing must be supported by the mailserver.
However the invitations do not show the RSVP requests and do not automatically get picked up by Calendar.app.
The server sits behind a NAT router and runs its own Split-DNS setup for the same local domain myserver.xyz.com that the router also redirects to the internal IP address of the server for external access to the iCal Server (so, FQDN is working for the server). The email account used for invitations is hosted on an external mailserver that runs on the same domain (mail.xyz.com).
Did I miss anything in my setup?

Okay, got this figured out. Appears that the email server my client's company uses is terminating the connection when the Xserve tries to do anything. I setup a test Gmail account and used those settings instead and everything worked just fine.

Send purchase order via email (external send) with special Czech characters

Hi all,
I am sending a purchase order created with ME21N via email to the vendor using "external send".
The mail is delivered without any problems, PO is attached to the mail as PDF file.
Problem is that special Czech characters as "ž" or "u0161" are not displayed, a "#" (hash) appears instead.
This problem occurs when language for PO output = EN.
Tests with language = CS worked out fine, but the whole form incl. all texts are in Czech as well; so no valid solution since it needs to be in English.
We checked SAPCONNECT configuration and raised note 665947; this is working properly.
When displaying the PO (ME23N) special characters are shown correctly as well.
Could you please let me know how to proceed with that issue?!

No, it's not a Unicode system.
It is maintained as:

Using this option, character "ž" was not displayed correctly, but "Ú" was ok.
All other Czech special characters are not tested so far.

Standard Setup - External IP Update via email?

I have an iMac G5 with OS X Server 10.5.6 everything stock here and working great. I have it setup as a standard server... offering only the most basic things like file and printer sharing.
Is there any setting or and application that will notify via email if my external IP has changed. If I convert the server to an advanced configuration is that a possibility and if so how can I do this? I have tried to download the ServerAdminTools10.5.dmg package and for some reason after installing I cannot find the utilities... it only installs the basic "Server Preferences" in the dock...

I have figured out how to convert the server to advanced... but still need an app to help me knwo when my IP changes... any ideas?

Invoice via email to external sender with partner function

Hello all,
sending an invoice via email to the recipient address that's in the customer master is working fine in our system. Now we want the invoice to be sent to one of our employees and we did the following settings:
- Created a personnel number in the HR module and assigned this number to the SAP user ID of the employee.
- Created a partner function ( Transaction OPSPAR1) with partner type ER - Personnel number. Is this the correct partner type?
- Added new partner function in customer master and assigned personnel number of employee.
- In output section of the invoice, we added output type, selected medium = external send, assigned new partner function and partner=personnel number.
After issuing output, a message comes up that output could not be issued.
Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

Have you maintained Recipient field with User Id of employee in the condition record Communication detail screen.
If not maintained maintain Recipient field with User Id of employee then try.

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

Why won't calendar invitations send via email from iCloud?

i have tried multiple times to send out meeting invitations using my iPad, iPhone 4 and iCloud.com. No success. Is there a bug? When do they expect this functionality to be up and running? Or am i doing something wrong? Also, when i accept an invitation via my mobile devices, it won't send a notification to the meeting organizer. HELP!!!

You might want to go to My Apple ID to manage the ID, then check to be sure the email address is spelled correctly. (I had this problem my self once and discovered that I had misspelled it.)
