External LDAP port in Azure machine

Hi all,
I have two machines. One is used as an Active Directory domain controller machine. One is for web server. I want to capture LDAP queries by network package analysis tool but don't know if Azure machine uses different port rather than standard port 389. If
that's the external port so how can I know that port?
Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Thuan Soldier,
The port 389 can be used to request information from the local DC. However, the requesting application can obtain all of the attributes for those objects. For example, a request to port 389 could be used to obtain a user’s department
The port 3268 is used for queries specifically targeted for the global catalog. LDAP requests sent to port 3268 can be used to search for objects in the entire forest. However, only the attributes marked for replication to the global catalog can be returned.
For example, a user’s department could not be returned using port 3268 since this attribute is not replicated to the global catalog.

    There has never been a reliable firewire ---> USB adapter suitable for external high speed storage.  This was a major issue when the MacBooks lost the firewire port a number of years ago (Apple subsequently brought it back).
    The only high speed port on the Air is the ThunderBolt port.  There are external ThunderBolt drive options out there, but they're somewhat more expensive than traditional USB/FireWire options.

  • Can not fine external hard drive for time machine sence lion was installed

    I can not fine external hard drive for time machine sence lion was installed, it don't reconise it at all.

    I have a Mac Mini (late 2009) and I have an iomega 1TB external hard drive connected to my mini via firewire and usb (usb allows me to use the usb ports on the external 1TB drive to daisy chain other devices).  Since I installed Lion, my Time Machine  and this 1TB drive (and its partitions) is finicky.  Sometimes it is mounted and sometimes it is not.   This issue has only surfaced post Snow Leopard and in the Lion era. I am not the first to say this but the whole reason I went Mac was b/c of Vista.  I am beginning to think that Lion is the new Vista.  Sorry for the latter, just venting... b/c this ain't the first issue with Lion.

  • External Hard Drive for Time Machine - 2 TB. Can I remove other external drives it was backing up?

    I have an external drive dedicated for Time Machine, it's 2 TB. Last year I started backing up computer (500 GB) and one external hard drive that has 500 GB. IAlso, I have another external drive that is 1 TB connected to my computer. I noticed last week that I was hearing that other external drive sounding funny, so I thought I would add it to Time Machine to back up. Now today my Time Machine failed. I tested the drive or verified the drive and all was well. My thought is because I added this drive to Time Machine it failed because of not enough room? Is there a way to remove that other external hard drive and go back to just the computer and the 500 GB?
    I did btw out of a panic mode buy the GDrive that has Thunderbolt with 3 TB, yet I can't use Thunderbolt because that plug is used for my monitor, bummer. But, maybe using this new external drive I can back up the 500, the computer and the 1TB. Any thoughts?

    When you say the Time Machine failed, do you mean the drive containing the Time Machine backups failed, or what failed was trying to back up the new drive you added? If Time Machine was able to complete the first full backup of the new drive, then adding Time Machine didn't cause the problem, it was a coincidence. If Time Machine runs out of space it just starts deleting the oldest backup. I suppose it might fail on the first Time Machine run after the initial backup if it didn't have space to delete stuff. When you look at the Time Machine drive in the Finder, is it in fact full? If there's plenty of space left on it, it's not clear what the failure was about.
    Also, testing and verifying with Disk Utility will spot some problems but not all.

    Thunderbolt can be daisy-chained, so if it or other Thunderbolt devices have a pass-through port it might be possible to do all that. But it might be better to return the drive and get a USB 3 drive instead. It would be fast enough, cheaper, and more versatile. For a single hard drive (not a RAID or SSD), Thunderbolt is not really much faster than USB 3.

    define the
    DebugSecurityAtn="true" attribute on the ServerDebug mbean for the cluster
    server members and then look at the log and the ldap_trace.log files to see
    what is happening with LDAP.

  • External LDAP for UCM

    Hi.
    Is it possible to use external LDAP server for my UCM server without using external LDAP server for my admin server?
    That is I have a domain with admin server and UCM server.
    My admin server doesn't have external LDAP.
    So is it possible to use external LDAP server for my UCM server in such situation?
    And if it is possible, could you give me some information about it?
    (sorry for my english)

    First of all, thank you for links.
    But I have a problem: I configured my own LDAP provider and I can see that 'Connection State' is good (5 out of 5 connections are good), but I can not log in into UCM with users in my LDAP (Invalid Credentials. Please try entering your user name and password again.).
    Here is my LDAP provider configuration:
    Provider Name:      MyLDAP
    Provider Description:      MyLDAP
    Connection State:      5 out of 5 connections are good
    Last Activity Date:      12/17/12 4:23 PM
    Provider Type:      ldapuser
    Provider Class:      intradoc.provider.LdapUserProvider
    Provider Connection:      intradoc.provider.LdapConnection
    Source Path:      MyLDAP
    LDAP Server:      localhost
    LDAP Suffix:      dc=example,dc=com
    LDAP Port:      10389
    Number of connections:      5
    Connection timeout:      10
    Priority:      1
    Credential Map:
    SSL Enabled:      No
    Attribute Map:      uid:dFullName
    Role Prefix:      ou=groups
    Default Network Roles:      guest
    Filter Groups:      Yes
    Use Full Group Name:      No
    LDAP Admin DN:      uid=admin,ou=system
    And my LDAP structure:
    "dc=example,dc=com"
    _____"ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com"
    __________"cn=Administrators,ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com"
    __________"cn=admin,ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com"
    _____"ou=people,dc=example,dc=com"
    __________"uid=asdasd,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com"
    __________"uid=qweqwe,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com"
    In 'cn=Administrators' entry I have 'uniqueMember:uid=asdasd,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com' property
    In 'cn=admin' entry I have 'uniqueMember:uid=qweqwe,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com' property
    Nevertheless I can't log in into UCM with users in my LDAP (Invalid Credentials. Please try entering your user name and password again.).
    Could you show me my mistake?

  • External LDAP Server

    Hello.
    Is it possible to configure WebLogic to use external LDAP server, which in turn is "built in" in other WebLogic (at other physical machine)?
    And if it is possible, can I use OracleInternetDirectoryAuthenticator provider for this?
    (sorry for my english)

    Hi
    OID is all together a different LDAP provider.
    You can try to create a Authenticator of type LDAPAuthenticator and accordingly provide the configurations.
    Check the below note.

  • External moniter port

    hi i have a hp 2000 notebook pc with no hdmi slot and only a external monitor port and 3 usb ports. so how do i connect it to my tv inorder to watch movies??

    Hi,
    Based on the following specs, it has 1 VGA (15-pin) port:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03476824
    Connecting VGA (analog) port to HDMI (digital) port you need a converter, which is similar to one of the following devices:
       http://www.ebay.com.au/bhp/vga-to-hdmi-converter
    Please note: your machine uses "AMD E-300 accelerated processor (1.30GHz)", you won't get what you hope for.

  • External LDAP - Configuring the External LDAP to the Weblogic Server 10.3.3

    I m new to LDAP concepts. Is there any documentation link to configure any of the External LDAP for WLS 10.3.3?
    Where can I download to install the Extarnal LDAP?
    Thanks

    To use Active Directory for quick testing with Weblogic, you can use either Suns Sun One Active Directory Server or OpenLDAP which is an open source LDAP. We use OpenLDAP on unix and configure this with WLS. All our users are in OpenLDAP. Try googling around like "OpenLDAP Download" or "Sun One Directory Server" etc. All these are LDAP sources with very minor differences (Some extra attributes here and there). Configuration wise all are same from WLS point of view. We define LDAPs Host, Port, admin useranme/password, User basedn and Group basedn. These are minimum things we need to know upfront.

  • Backing up photos on iMac using external hard drive and time machine

    How do i back up photos from my imac using an external hard drive and time machine
    Thanks in advance

    Apple explains how to use Time Machine in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427.
    Setting up and using TM is very simple to do, connect any external HD (format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) using Disk Utility ) and your computer shoudl ask if you want to use that EHD for a Time Machine backup. If you have any questions visit your local Apple Store or reseller and they can answer how to setup and use TM and also should be able to offer suggestions on EHDs. My personal preference is OWC (www.macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pro due to the build quality and OWC's level of support.

    My guess would be it has created an entirely new backup of your drive when you upgraded to Mavericks.

    I just backed up my mac to an external hard drive using Time Machine. What would happen if I turn Time Machine off and then plug the external hard drive back into my computer?
    What I am ultimately wanting to do is make more room on my computer by backing up all of my files onto the external hard drive and then deleting them off of my computer. However, neededing to be able to retrieve them from the external hard drive later down the road.
    From what I have read and am trying to understand, is that I probably shouldn't have used time machine. I need to use the external hard drive like a basic flash drive where I can put things on and get things off without having it automatically update through time machine everytime I connect it to my computer.
    Not tech savvy at all and barely understand basics. I need very simple and easy to understand explanations.

    BIG BIG MISTAKE ..... youre making a linchpin deathtrap for your data trying to shove everything on a single fragile HD.
    Dont suffer the tragedy other people make, buy another or 2 more HD, theyre cheap as dust.
    The number of people who have experienced terror by having a single external HD backup is enormous.  One failure that WILL HAPPEN, and kaput,......all gone!
    Dont do it, its all about redundancy, redundancy, redundancy.
    follow here:
    Methodology to protect your data. Backups vs. Archives. Long-term data protection
    Deleting them off your computer is fine....having only ONE copy is extremely BAD.
    The Tragedy that will be, the tragedy that never should be
    Always presume correctly that your data is priceless and takes a very long time to create and often is irreplaceable. Always presume accurately that hard drives are extremely cheap, and you have no excuse not to have multiple redundant copies of your data copied on hard drives and squirreled away several places, lockboxes, safes, fireboxes, offsite and otherwise.
    Hard drives aren't prone to failure…hard drives are guaranteed to fail (the very same is true of SSD). Hard drives dont die when aged, hard drives die at any age, and peak in death when young and slowly increase in risk as they age.
    Never practice at any time for any reason the false premise and unreal sense of security in thinking your data is safe on any single external hard drive. This is never the case and has proven to be the single most common horrible tragedy of data loss that exists.
    Many 100s of millions of hours of lost work and data are lost each year due to this single common false security. This is an unnatural disaster that can avoid by making all data redundant and then redundant again. If you let a $60 additional redundant hard drive and 3 hours of copying stand between you and years of work, then you've made a fundamental mistake countless 1000s of people each year have come to regret.

  • How to access an External LDAP on a weblogic server using OPSS APIs.

    Hi,
    Can anyone let me know how I can access an External LDAP configured on a weblogic server using OPSS APIs( or alternative APIs).
    I'm currently using the below snippet and I'm getting only the Users and groups from the DefaultAutheticator on the weblogic server and not the external LDAP Server.
    I've verified the providers, users and groups on the weblogic server console and can see that external LDAP server content is being picked, but my below code does not query them.
    import oracle.security.idm.IMException;
    import oracle.security.idm.IdentityStore;
    import oracle.security.idm.Role;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsContext;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsContextFactory;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsException;
    import oracle.security.jps.service.idstore.IdentityStoreService;
    List<Role> rowData = null;
    JpsContextFactory ctxf = JpsContextFactory.getContextFactory();
    JpsContext ctx = ctxf.getContext();
    IdentityStoreService storeService = ctx.getServiceInstance(IdentityStoreService.class);
    IdentityStore idStore = storeService.getIdmStore();
    rowData = this.getRoles(idStore, "*");
    Any help or pointers are highly appreciated.
