  • How do I migrate my Mail configuration from Snow Leopard to Lion manually?

I wasn't able to  move the data from my old MacBook to my new MacBook running Lion, because I was using FileVault on the old system, and the Migration Assistant doesn't support home directories with FileVault enabled.
I've managed to migrate everything without issue -- Music, Photos, Movies -- all worked great.  However, when I try to start Mail under Lion, I get prompted to reconfigure Mail.  I've copied the ~/Library/Mail folder and the Preferences file (com.apple.mail.plist) to the new laptop (via SFTP) but Mail won't pick up from where it left off.
Is there something I've missed?  How should I perform this migration?
    Thanks in advance.

Lion mail is different than SL. It should have converted the old content to the new format when you opened Mail. Quit Mail and move the contents of the Mail folder from the home Library to the desktop.
When you start Mail, use the import from Apple Mail feature to import everything from that folder. That should bring in all accounts and mailboxes in Mail.

  • Problem with internet and mail configuration(From France)

    Hey x)
I just got my Blackberry yesterday (I'm from France) with Universal Mobile- Bougues Telecome, forfait bloqué pour BlackBerry.
In that "package" i have SMS/mms ,internet and emails unlimited.
But i can't go to internet , its not working and when I'm trying to configure the mail option in "advanced option" , I don't have any kind of confirmation message.
I tried on the website but I got that error message:
    "Cannot create account:
This BlackBerry(R) device is not registered with your wireless service provider.
Please register this device and verify that the URL of the current web site matches
the one provided by your wireless service provider.
    To register:
    1. In the Application list on your device, click Options, or click Settings Options.
    2. Click Advanced Options > Host Routing Table.
    3. Click the Menu key and click Register Now.
If the error persists, contact your wireless service provider."
And so as I said, I did that manipulation but I don't have a confirmation when I put "host routing table".
And In the email configuration I just have the professional thing.
Can you please help me ?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • EXTERNAL mail bouncing from deleted and recreated account

I do not believe this is the X.500 LegacyExchangeDN issue, as the problem occurs for external users only and the error states it is a DNS issue.  The reply is going to <ADDomain>.local, so that shouldn't resolve properly.  My question is
why the .local address is being used and how to fix that.
Here is the error report from a bounced message:
    IMCEAEX-_O=FIRST+20ORGANIZATION_OU=EXCHANGE+20ADMINISTRATIVE+20GROUP+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=<User Name>+20<UserLegacyExchangeDN>@<ADDomain>.local
    Technical details of permanent failure:
DNS Error: Domain name not found
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
I would like to verify your Exchange version at first.

  • Mail body from SBWP always as attachment

    Hi there,
I want to send simple mails from Business Workplace to external users (internet address).
The problem is, that the body always comes as attachment (txt-file) with the mail to the user. Not as body text in his mail client.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Bernd

    Hello Bernd,
It is working as design. If you use the disclosure, than it will be
put in the body, and all previous mail parts will be sent as attachment.
The reason behind is, that SAP do not want to modify the original body
    of the mail.
If you want to have a different behaviour, than you can design an own
send program, where you put the disclaimer in the body itself.

  • Can we run external mail program from JSP / Servlet deployed on tomcat

    Hi folks,
Had a tough time getting JavaMail API to work, finally when things seem to be working
there were some issues with the vendor's server, so finally gave up the idea.
On the server Apache and Tomcat are integrated via mod_jk and currently I redirect to a php page
which acts as a helper to send mail, however for the given business needs and server's limitations
    there are potential security holes.
So I was wondering if I could directly execute the linux sendmail program from JSP/Servlet
as we would in a standalone java program or do we need special settings on Tomcat to execute external
    programs.
Please let me know your views / ideas / comments on this
    Thanks in advance
    Abishek

    Hi
It's not designed for you to be able to do this, it needs to run through 10gAS or 11gWeblogic.

  • Restore Mail Configuration from Time Machine?

I've been using Apple Mail with multiple email accounts under an IMAP format since OSX Leopard where the mailboxes seemed to have been organized in a much simpler manner in that OS.  After upgrading to Snowleopard and then upgrading again to Mountain Lion (skipping Lion), the Mail Program started to get a little funky or more complicated with mailbox organization by separating or adding a new section that combined the junk, sent, and trash folders for individual mail accounts if you add a "New" account or delete and re-add an account .  I prefer to have all my mail accounts shown under individual folders called Inbox, another for Sent, another for Drafts, another for Junk, and another for Trash.   I've been able to maintain this organization however mail now creates extra duplicate sections for individual mail accounts for drafts or drafts and trash - I can deal with that.
However, I accidently deleted an old IMAP account with my preferred configuration and had to re-add the account.  Therefore, Mail created the new duplicate section of the Junk, Sent, Trash for this re-instated account.  See attached screenshot for "Nina's Email".
Since I back up with timemachine, is there way to restore my previous configuration which will eliminate the section for Nina's Email - Junk, Sent, Trash?
I appreciate any help on this....

are you sure you got rid of growl. you may want to double check, go to homefolder/library/mail/bundles and see if there is still something there. growl has been known to cause such issues as not being able to launch mail.
after you do that i would also quit mail, then shut down the mac, reboot, launch mail again and see if the issue persists.

  • URGENT: external LDAP configuration from WLS 6.1

    Hi,
I am trying to configure the LDAP Realm(Netscape directory server) for Weblogic

DO I need to write a custom realm?

  • Adding external mail contacts to a distribution group seems to randomly add the user instead of the mail contact

I've added a external mail contact for all my mailbox users because all the users have other jobs and other external email addresses.  Since these users don't normally log on to my domain to get email, I need to create a distribution list with all their
external email addresses.  I've scripted the creation of all the external mail contacts, from the mailbox users and I use AD's Notes field to contain the users external address. When using add-DistributionGroupMember and supplying the external mail
contact email address as the "-Member" param, about half of the time the users mailbox user gets added to the group instead of the external contact.  I don't see any arguments to tell add-DistributionGroupMember to use only mail contacts.
    1) I don't even know how it's finding the mailbox user because I'm supplying an external email address which is only in the external mail contact.
    2) Some members of the group are correctly added as external contacts, some are mailbox users.
    3) I only want the external mail contacts in the group
If it helps, here's the line that I use to add members to the group. I've tried mail enabling the mail contacts, no help...
    Add-DistributionGroupMember–identity“AltEveryone”–member(get-QADuser$_.Name).Notes
    Thanks for any help.

You should ask questions like this in the Exchange forum.  It is not a scripting question but is a product behavior question.
You cannot add an external contact without first creating the contact first.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Hi All,

Is there a way to stop emails going out to external mail domains from Wf Mailer.
Currently we are converting all suppliers with their real email ids. Is there a way to stop emails going out to external mail domains? This issue will arise as soon as someone run the payments and then vendor will automatically start receiving the emails from our test environment.
