External monitor USB connected NOT HDMI - xperia neo

Could anybody share details of external monitor tried with usb with xperia neo?
I have seen some monitors like AOS e1649Fwu which can connect with USB.
I don't have any HDMI ported monitor.
Also I want to use USB OTG capability to connect external devices. I was able to access mouse and keyboard.
If anybody able to access other devices like pen drive etc.. please share the steps how you have achieved with xperia neo.
All these queries are for "xperia neo" only"

As I understand this requires root access.
I will therefore move this tread to the correct forum.

  • MacBook Air is getting hot when external monitor is connected - restart solves the problem

I have a two weeks old Mac Book Air 11" (128GB / 4GB / i5). Sometimes when I connect it to my external monitor, the FAN is getting loud and the MacBook becomes very warm on the surface near the "F3 button". The activity monitor says CPU is at 0-1% and there's no process that causes any CPU load (I switched to "show all processes" of course). Nevertheless something makes the Mac becoming hot. A simple restart while the external monitor is connected solves the issue completely, temperature and fan speed are instantly decreasing. Is this a issue related to the graphics driver? For me it seems the behavior is caused by the graphics processor rather than by the i5 CPU as activity monitor does not show any process causing high CPU load.
    Known issue?
    Thanks!

I was runnig into the same problem. Plugging in to the apple 23" display at work worked well, but when I plugged in my Dell 23" at home the fan started being noisy...
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION: it seems to me that putting the air to into SLEEP MODE and back solves it as well!!
    I will confirm later on.

  • Backup external HD USB-connected to TC via Time Machine

    Hi
I am wondering whether it is possible to backup the content of an external hard drive that is directly connected to Time Capsule via Time Machine in addition to backing up the MBP HD.
    My (relevant) setup:
MacBook Pro Late 2013 OS-X Mavericks
TimeCapsule 3TB gigabit ethernet connected to speedport W921V router
WD MyPassport 2TB external HD USB-connected to Time Capsule
TimeMachine is happily backing up my MBP drive to the TC, so this is all clear
Is it possible to configure TimeMachine to also backup the data on the external WD HD to the Time Capsule? If so, where and how do I need to configure this?
    Thx
    Joe

I would never use TM the way I have suggested you use it.. which is very naughty of me.. so I do not know exactly how TM will react.. it should not be a problem.. It does not care if a source is missing.. just the destination.
I was trying to give you a solution to your problem.. without you incurring extra expenses. It is the wrong way to do it.. and is why I would never do it.. IMHO TM is great for what it does.. incremental updates of your main drive.. it is LOUSY.. as a way of backing up an external drive.. because it will have huge issues recovering it.
second question: CCC would then replace time machine as backup SW, correct?
No, the idea is to run both. TM provides a huge benefit to setting up a new computer for instance.. if the old computer is stolen or lost or damaged.. you can migrate from TM to the new computer (at least you can on a good day. it is not unknown for TM to fail completely). You do this easily as if the old computer was sitting there and you were running files between the two. It is also as stated above a good incremental backup software.
What it is LOUSY at, is complete disk recovery.. it is even more lousy .. lousier at recovering the disk that is not the main OS.
Just glance through this forum area or do a search for TM recovery issues.. it is a most difficult software. And of late in Mavericks has become worse than ever. You do not want to have a situation where you believe you have a backup and actually don't. Or your photo library or itunes you expect is backed up and is actually not.. or happens to be corrupted without telling you.
Step in CCC.. it is able to create backups in situations where TM cannot.. ie from network drives. It can produce a bootable image.. so if your computer disk failed you would be up and running again in 2min flat by plugging in a USB drive with the image. You can even use it to incrementally backup.. but I don't use it that way. Two completely different backup softwares offers you more than double the protection.. because IMHO TM is so complicated half the time you cannot get what you want out of it. CCC is simple.. it makes images and adds files in a completely standard backup way. ie a file can be simply copied out of the disk image and back to the computer without any software backup recovery running. The files are in plain sight.. easy to reach and use. In TM it is hugely complicated.. read how TM works. It is helpful to understand the difference.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Works.html
Also read pondini's take on using disk images.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Clones.html
His recommendation is what i also think is the best.. use both.. each has good and bad points.. using two completely different methods gives you a huge improvement in the value of the backups.. and CCC is easy to produce a clone to store offsite adding hugely to your benefit..
For $40 license makes a lot of sense to me.

  • Satellite P750 - Shutdown issue after removal of external monitor USB 3 hub

Have operated my Satellite P750 laptop with external DeII monitor for a year or more now.
Monitor has a Usb 3 hub. (i have some ext HDD plugged into these. So far no issues. I unplugged the monitor usb hub from laptop (to create wndows image backup straight through the sole usb3 port on laptop.
After this finished i found that i was unable to shutdown or restart laptop. It gets to the light blue 'shutting down' screen; HDD light flashes for 5/10 secs then it stops accessing disk with power still on and stuck at blue shutdown screen; laptop even sounds like it shuts down.
Two things, i can hold down power button till hard stop, then press again to restart, and all is fine; no error messages when win 7 start up again. Or i have once just left it sitting without holding power button- it seemed to be like this for about 4 hours (monitor went to standby cause idle) before powers down.. When i start laptop after this i get windows warning failed to shut down properly.
It took me a while to work out which device was causing the issue; but can now replicate any time.
So - unplug monitor usb hub from laptop; laptop fails to shut down/restart.
Replug DeII usb hub back to laptop; no problem laptop back to normal shut down.
Any ideas??? (this means whenever i go portable with laptop i have to hard shut down/ hold power key to turn it off????)

To be honest I dont know why the system cannot shut down properly without connected USB monitor hub but system shut down issues are mostly related to some processes which are running in the background.
Sometimes such processes are locked and could not be closed due to different reasons. This may prevent the system from shut down
    Maybe this is the case
Try to clean the system as well as the registry using CCleaner (its freeware tool).
You should also check what processes are running in the background maybe one of this processes is related to the hub which cause your shut down problem

  • External monitor on standby not recognised properly

I've MacBook Pro 15'' (late 2011) and I've attached an external monitor Samsung SyncMaster 2494HM using Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter cable.
After starting up my mac and the external monitor is on standby (not switched off), both screens go blank (meaning no Dock and no top menu bar can be seen nor activated). You can only see their respective background colors (in my case the grey color on the external monitor and and blue screen on the Laptop) and nothing else. There is no other possibilty to switch off the mac while pressing long enough on the laptop's power botton.
After restarting the mac  and the external monitor is switched off, the laptop screen is fully accessible (meaning the Dock and the top menu bar are there and functional). When turning on the external monitor, then all the mac recognises both screens and you can operate normally on both screens.
Before updating to Mountain Lion I had no problem with the external monitor being on standby.
    Anyone having similar experinces?

I have a similar situation and I found out that I am using two external dispalys, one through the thunderbolt and the other through display link diamond external usb display. When I upgraded to Mountain Lion, it suggested that the driver is incompatible and I downloaded a new driver from Display Link website and that started correpting everthing on my mac book pro (early 2011).
The Finder window does not start and started crashing with a log. Same thing with system preferences and a lot other apps such as iPhoto. I did a clean install and put the driver back on and again it started doing that. I did a clean install again and this time trying it since yesterday and it works alright with out the Display Link driver.
I still had an issue with my the remaining Samsung SyncMaster B2430 display going on and off every few seconds. I could not find any solutions for this so far.
I believe, I did a mistake by taking up on Mountain Lion without waiting for it have it's issues resolved.

  • External monitor for laptop not working

I just purchased this laptop and am trying to hook up an additional monitor.  When I install the HDMI cable laptop screen goes dark and monitor screen remains dark.  If I unplug the HDMI cable the laptop screen comes back.  If i try to "adjust" the display in control panel i can only see the laptop screen.  If I turn off external monitor and turn back on a message saying cable not attached is displayed before screen goes dark.  I'm really in dark - need help. Thanks

The F4 was the solution for getting the laptop screen back, but i'm still unable to see anything on the external monitor.  I have it recognized in the Control panel and all connections are correct.  Could it be a setting with my NVIDIA GTX 950M video card?  If so how do i change.  By the way i checked the drivers for this and they are up to date. Now only half in the dark! LC

  • MBP + external monitor + USB mouse + iTunes = lag

Hello, I am wondering if any of you can offer a solution to my problem. When I use my mac with my external monitor and external mouse, there is a systemwide lag every 3 seconds - the display sort of pauses, briefly interrupting mouse input and video playback. When deleting a long line of text it is again apparent.
It is not the mouse, as I have tried 3 different mice with the up to date drivers and they all work fine while itunes is not open and when using the laptop's screen, which also eliminates the variable of a poor mouse surface (it is good regardless).
There is no skipping when using the laptop's screen, regardless of itunes being open or not. Also, there is no skipping at all when I boot into windows and use it with the external display.
The skipping also occurs when video is being played back via Quicktime, with iTunes closed. The same video played with VLC does not cause the issue.
I have the computer hooked up to a Samsung SyncMaster 2494HM LCD, via the apple mini DP to DVI adapter, and with a DVI-HDMI cable (this decreased the issue from when it was connected with DVI and skipped all the time).
I have tried a different user account, and the problem persists there too. I have reset my PRAM and NVRAM also.
This is quite strange; any suggestions?

    bump?

  • External monitor Syncmaster 2494SW not working after 10.6.7 update

External monitor Samsung Syncmaster 2494  SW stopped working after 10.6.7 update on 2011 MacBook Pro. I'm using miniDP-DVI adapter. The monitor shown correctly in Display Properties with right modes and name. MackBook recognizes connection but the monitor goes to PowerSave mode (LED indicator blinks).
Safemode boot, SMC reset, PRAM reset did not help.
Exactly the same setup works perfectly under 10.6.6.

HERE IS THE EASY FIX SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM GUYS:
I have an 15inch MacBook Pro that I've just installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on.
Prior to this install, I've had it hooked up to my Samsung SyncMaster 2243 via an Apple MDP/VGA adapter and a third party VGA cable. It has been flashing on and off a black screen every now and then for the past 2 years and I googled that it was just a crappy communication between the MBP and the Samsung... but now since installing 10.6.3, the Samsung display just flashes the desktop for a second then turns black for good - occationally flashing analogue/digtal prompt display. Tried everything for hours. Nothing worked, thought I was gonna have to buy a new all Apple VGA lead then came across Michael's above solution. Tried it and it worked IMMEDIATLY!!! And the monitor doesn't flash black anymore AT ALL!! Whoo-hoo!! Thanks heaps.
    WHAT TO DO TO FIX:
Go to => System Preferences  => Energy Saver => change graphic settings to Higher Performace.
    Cheers!!

  • MacMini (2011) problem with Thunderbolt display if 2nd monitor is connected via HDMI/DVI adapter

    Hi,
    iam running a MacMini (2011) 2.3GHz i5 with Mac OS X 10.7.4 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 256 GB Samsung SSD.
If i connect a Thunderbolt display only - all is fine.
But if i connect a 2nd monitor ( Samsung S23A700) via HDMI / DVI adapter (original Apple) the major screen (Thunderbolt Display) sometimes
is going black and immidiately back to normal. It looks like that it happens very often if i scroll down with the Apple Magic Mouse.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

I have exactly the same problem. MacMini Server i7 (mid 2011) Macmini5.3.16Gb ram.
    Mini and Thunderbolt no blink-outs.
Mini and Thunderbolt and Dell 23" connected to HDMI-DVI connector, the Thunderbolt display blinks out when system is under stress as in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.
I thought it was a problem with my Thunderbolt display, and since its on a VESA mount, I didn't really want to haul in in to the Apple Store.  I decided to be sure it was the dosplay...
I borrowed a MacbookPro i7 and ran it from a clone of my Mini. No problems aster hours of use. (But with only ONE monitor.)  That suggested that there was no problem with the Thunderbolt Display.
I decided to run the Mini with only one display.  Again no problems. I plugged in the Second monitor to the HDMI port and within 2 minutes I had my first "Blink-Out".
I ran the rest of the day without the second monitor with no problems.
I conclude the mini will not work reliably with two monitors if one is a Thunderbolt.
I was using two Dell Monitors before I got the Thunderbolt Diskplay (for 3 months) without incident.

  • External monitor losing connection when Windows goes standby

I got an external monitor connected to a MacBook Pro, whenever Windows goes standby the monitor turns off (also goes to standby mode), I can wake up Windows but the monitor remains without connection. I can manually make it work again by going to the NVIDIA screen.
Is there any way to make this work automatically?

    Anybody still want this answered?

  • External monitor with imac not working

Hello.I have problem with external monitor connected to my imac 27 via mini display port to vga connector. It was working perfectly but around month ago it suddenly stopped. It looks like my monitor doesn`t get any signal from imac, at least that`s what is says on external monitor.. also, when monitor is connected my mouse is jumping all over the place. I`ve been looking everywhere but i couldn`t find solution to this problem and i know there are many people having the same issue. Did anyone find solution?

I have my 24" connected to a 32" TV via DVI and have had no problems thus far.
When you open display preferences is the external display detected? If so, try switching between mirror and extended to see if it comes on.
The only other thing I could suggest is to try another VGA connector and/or cable. The fact the mouse goes erratic sort of points to there being the problem somewhere in the connection. You might want to try DVI if your monitor supports it.

  • USB Connection Not Recognised

Up until a recent upgrade to Windows XP, iPod Nano has been working fine.
The last few weeks I had intermittent success connecting often involving relodaing iPod or iTunes software.
Now nothing all i am getting when i connect the iPod is USB Device Not Recognised, I have tried all the USB ports, resetting, hard disk mode, obtaining the drivers usbstor which I found mentioned in another thread.
Is there something i have not tried?
I have followed the list in the Apple Tech Pages regarding the iPod not appearing in Windows or iTunes however this seems to be a problem ocurring before that step is even reached.
    ideas?

Not sure if Time Zones are delaying any responses but I thought I'd add that I have just tried all the old favourites with my Laptop and I am getting the same deal.
Currently the iPod is working and playing music so is it possible my Cable is stuffed and needs replacing? has this happened to others?

  • External monitor & USB.

    Hi
Just got my 24" Samsung Sync master set up with apple keyboard & usb mouse. Just wondering if it's possible to use a usb connection somehow with the monitor - my dream set up is plug one usb hub with everything connected to it, to the mac book pro, & be sailing. I know it's a little thing, but it is a faff to have to plug two different things in - & remember to take the adaptor when out & about so I can use a projector.
(maybe I should just live with the faff!)
    Thanks!
