External no range for individual object

hello,
still have confusion in creating external no range for individual objects.
i have created to two subgroups i'e 01s & 01 C. & a $$$$ is alo der...in $$$$ ext range is 1-499999 & for 01S it is 201 -300 & for 01 C its 101-200..
but system is taking any no for positions & jobs with out restrictions..i think tht is because of $$$$ range..
thst wat my confusion is..can any one let me know wat to do for this...with an example...

Creation of Unique Number Ranges for Organizational Objects

Hi Gurus,
As per our client's requirements, We need to create unique number ranges for Organizational Objects such as O,S,P to distinguish based on the Object ID. Could you please help me out to create the same.
And also to create unique number ranges for Personnel Development Objects such as QK & Q.

Hi,
To maintain object specific number ranges, go to customising node Personnel management --> Org. management --> Basic settings --> Number range manitenance --> Maintain Number ranges
Here there will already be a default entry as $$$$.
To create different range for object say O you can use the following options:
Create entry as $$O - number range applicable to all Org units across all plan versions.
Create entry as 01O - number range applicable to all Org units under plan version "01"
Then under Interval maintenance create the desired number ranges under IN for internal or EX for external (check the external tick box for external number ranges)
In the similar manner you can create the number ranges for objects C, S , Q & QK.

I have just checked and the measurement point number is linked directly with tthe object for eaxample equipment and when I tried this I got the same result the system defaults the number based ont he internal number range.
This being the case what is the business requirement that you need to use external numbering as this may help and someone may be able to assist either with an answer to the problem or an alternative solution.

In this step you define number ranges for measuring points.
Notes
As the numbers for measuring points are assigned internally, you should work with the standard settings. If you want to make changes, you should always use number range 01.

and if now i create new record by VBO1
IF i give external no system accept
AND if i don't give system generate his own no
can u tell me exactly where i have to assign this number
but there is no number object LIKE in t.code VNO1 there is no 01 or 18 so that i can mention in sales document type

(or SPRO -> Pers Man -> Org Man -> Basic Settings -> Maintain Number Ranges)
For the subgroups
01C (plan variant 01, Object type C) Job
01O (plan variant 01, Object type O) Org unit
01S (plan variant 01, Object type S) Position
Define the following number ranges respectively.
(EX 60000000 69999999)
(EX 70000000 79999999)
(EX 80000000 89999999)

Quantity Unit for individual objects missing.

Hi,
i have the following problem using mobile service.
We need to enter individual objects in the service confirmation. I can select one, but the dropdown for the quantity unit is empty. Because of this beeing a mandatory field, i can not save the service confirmation. The select statement coming from the corresponding comboengine is using the SFAMARA key to search the SMOMARM for this information. This table is empty for individual objects.
Each equipment has a back reference to it's original material wich has got the information, even in SMOMARM.
so my question: In CRM-Online the back reference is used, in Mobile its using the individual object key. I would identify this as a bug. We are using Mobile 5.0 SP7, CRM 5.0 .
Has anybody experience with this and can support me? i found nothing in OSS! Maybe some customizing in CRM-Online or MSY. I don't know.

Hi,
IObjects cannot be entered as items for service confirmations or orders as it makes no sense at all.
The reference to one or more IObjects will be done in Tileset <Subject/Objects> or <Item Subject/Objects>, Tile <Reference Objects>.

If we use USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE - RV60AFZZ to specify external number then can we enter alpha-numeric or only numeric value.

Few things a wish to suggest you,
1. SAP always says try to avoid External number ranges for invoices, as it has legal as well as technical compliances.
2. By using user exit, even though you will enter the external numbers but in case of several and multi user systems there may be chances of inconsistencies.
Anyway if you have decided to do this then Yes its possible you can use Alphanumeric numbers also

External number range for service items?

I want to create Purchase order with services using BAPI. Is it possible to set external number range for the extrow / introw, so that if I need to change a service line item, I will be able to find out which service item needs to be changed.

It depends on whether you have a service master or not.
1. If you have service master, then there will be a service number (just like a material number). You can use that identify which one has to be deleted.
2. If NOT, then they would still send the text for the Service lines (I guess this will be unique for each line item). So, you will have to identify the line to be deleted by that.

A question - You are saying you will get information to update the PO, but how does the system know which PO to be updated, how are you going to identify which PO needs to be changed?

I can only see a provision for internal number range in customising for Billing document type.

I think the similar requirement is in Venezuela also.
So pl. check the SAP Note 849438 . As per the note :-
The solution is delivered in the indicated support packages. In case you can not implement the correspondin support package for your release immediately, please follow the procedure described below:
1. In the Data Dictionary Editor (transaction SE11) please open the definition of domain J_1AOFFNREL, go to the fixed values and add value 'P' with description 'Number Assingment using Prenumbered Forms' in a position so that the possible values remain sorted alphabetically.
2. In the Message Editor (transaction SE91) please go to message class ICC_CN and add the new message 837 with text '&1: Official doc. numbering is not available for delivery documents!'.
3. If you are implementing the note in release 4.6C, please create the following function modules:
o     OFF_NUMBER_LOCAL_ASSIGN_VE in function group FIN2, and then copy the interface (all parameters and exceptions) of the function module OFF_NUMBER_LOCAL_ASSIGN_TW
o     OFF_NUMBER_LOCAL_NUMBERING_VE in function group FIN2, and then copy the interface (all parameters and exceptions) of the function module OFF_NUMBER_LOCAL_NUMBERING_TW

Number Ranges are maintained in T.Code: SM30.
Provide the Table/ View, say Bill_Num for example.
In Tab: Restrict data Range, Click Radio button: No restrictions and Click Tab: Maintain.
In new window, maintain all the combinations for Columns: Sales Org, dist. Channel & Bill type and no values in IntNR.
Save the data.
