External OWA URL

Hi,
I've Exchange 2010 SP3 system with 3 CASHUB, 4 MBX servers.
I also have 2 OwaVirtualDirectory, for example: https://abc.com/owa (for both Internal and External) and
https://xyz.com/owa (for both Internal ang External)
When I use Autodiscover to configure Outlook, it automatically detects https://xyz.com/owa as default InternalURL and ExternalURL.
How can I change this setting to choose https://abc.com/owa as my default URL instead of the other one?

But the URL appears in Outlook is not the one we want. In outlook 2010 it's in the "Access this account on the web ... "
So as you mentioned there is no way to change the default URL in autodiscover?

If you have 2 unique URLs that autodiscover can return to clients, its pretty random what is returned.

We are planning to change our Exchange OWA URL from "https://webmail.saigon.com" to "https://webmail.city.saigon.com"
My question is Do I need to do anything to the MX record? The Exchange server name and IP remain the same. Only the URL get changed for the internal, and external.

Thank you for your question.
If we want to change Exchange OWA URL from https://webmail.saigon.com into https://webmail.city.saigon.com for internal and external, we must modify the following items:
1. MX record
We could ask to our ISP for help.
2. Exchange certificates
We could remove the old exchange certificate and resign a new certificate for Exchange server.
3. Re-configure virtual directory URL (OWA,OAB,ECP.EWS,ActiveSync,Autodiscover)

Development and access to external WSDL URL

Hi All,
I am developing a SOA application with BPEL composite which also makes calls to an external third party webservice. Due to security reasons, the external third party webservice URL is only accessible from our Development server machine (and not my local machine running JDeveloper). Issue with this is the SOA application development is done using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 on my local machine.
Overview of my application is
WebService (Synchronous Request/Response Client interface ) ---> BPEL ---> Third Party webService (Partnerlink)
1) Using the Client interface the user enters startTime and EndTime values
2) The startTime and endTime is input message to the BPEL process.
3) The BPEL process then sends the request to the third party web service (partnerlink) and gets a response message back and returns to the client.
I tried workaround for the same by asking the third party for WSDL and associated XSDs and included these locally in my SOA application project. However trying to deploy the completed SOA application and keep getting this error.
ERROR MESSAGE_

Could not initialize variable.
An error occurs while initializing BPEL variable RetrieveEventSummary_GetEventSummary_InputVariable; the schema processor cannot find the element {http://schemas.internet.com/asiapac/cad/integration/1.0.0}GetEventSummaryRequest in the following schemas: oracle.fabric.common.wsdl.SchemaManager@1cf57b6b.
The XSD element on which the variable was based was not properly defined in XSD or the WSDL.
Ensure that the element named in the error message is valid in the XSD or the WSDL.
Questions_
1) Please suggest, is it possible to develop a SOA application which makes service call to external URL, while the local development machine cannot access the external WSDL URL.
2) Also, in such cases in future deployments to test and production do I still need access to external WSDL URL from my machine. I deploy the completed SOA application from my local machine to the Development Server. The Development Server machine is configured to accessed the third-party WSDL URL.

It seems WSDL is not complete or invalid. Check whether it references element {http://schemas.internet.com/asiapac/cad/integration/1.0.0}GetEventSummaryRequest and this element has been defined in the XSD imported/defined in WSDL.

The Development Server machine is configured to accessed the third-party WSDL URL.If server can access the third party WS URL then that is sufficient. No need to have access from local machine. How to configure OWA in multiple AD sites when using one entry point for external OWA clients ?

Using Exchange 2013 (e2013), SP1.
Three locations. (Let's say Location-A, -B, and C.)
Each Location is an AD site, and physically "remote" from the others.
Each location will have one e2013 server, each server running both CAS and Mailbox function.
The main location ( LOC-A) is where all external OWA and EAS will "enter" from the Internet, via a firewall.
The E2013 server there will "connect" (?) to the e2013 server for "this mailbox",...at any of the 3 locations.
What "special" configuration do we need on the 2 remote/other e2013 servers for OWA virtual directory (or similar).
It looked like it was working "out of the box".
Some users work OK, with no special changes to anything.
But some users have OWA in a "never ending wait" (browser appears to spin forever),
and that might be due to a different Language at the other locations.
I guess Exchange knows how to "internally route" the OWA traffic from the LOC-A CAS to the LOC-B CAS.
(In Exchange 2007 we called this "Exchange CAS proxy" as I recall, but not sure that term is correct in e2013.)

Based on my knowledge, if User-A logon OWA in L-B, CAS-B would accept the request first.
Then it detect the User-A's mailbox located in L-A. CAS-B will proxy this request to CAS-A.

Create External document (URL) in SAP Personas

Hi Smart People!
To save some steps and incorporate a scanner I am working on creating buttons to "Attach Documents" in different areas such as MM03, FB03, and a few others where we have to keep a scanned in document attached to certain other Materials or Payables and such. All docs are scanned in and saved online and then we use the "create external document (url) menu option to link it where it is needed in SAP.
In one place it works just fine and in the others it is not working at all and custom button or even just following the already existing menu options it keeps giving me this error. I tried search on the SCN and Google and no such luck on this error. Anyone have any ideas? See pic below and also the text below is the separated error so you can see what it actually says.

That screen shot is for the Silverlight browser plugin.
You can check your Personas version and patch level in System -> Status. Clicking on the magnifying glass in the SAP System Data box will list all the components of the ERP system. It will tell you what Personas version and SP is installed.
Something like this:
The above means Personas 2.0 SP2.
If you indeed happen to have Personas 2.0 with no support package (so SP level says 0000), then the first thing I'd recommend is to bring the system to the latest level, which would be like in the screen shot, and then trying again. There is a good chance the problem will be resolved.
If your system is completely up-to-date and it still gives you trouble, then create an OSS incident.

I am in transaction IW22 i.e. Change PM Notification. There is a 'Services for object' drop down which appears below the enter tick. This appears in online but not in BDC. I have tried it through the transaction SHDB i.e. Transaction Recorder also herein the 'Services for object' does not appear. I need to post entries through 'Create external document (URL)' through the 'Services for object' drop down using BDC / BAPI / etc.

MM03/MM02 Need to create external document URL

Hi All,
    We are having a requirement to create web link for materials using transactions MM03 or MM02.
    The exact path for this is as follows:
    Go to MM03/MM02 -> Enter material ->Basic data view -> Systems Menu -> Services for object -> Create external document URL.Here we need to enter the title and URL.
    The other path is clicking on the services for objects button that comes on the title bar and create the same.
    Is there any BAPI that can be used to achieve this.

I'm trying to create a URL link in FBL1n but I'm not been able to do it.

but I'm not getting the URL in the link list.
I can create the link manually as Vimal kumar did, but in transaction FBL1n.

FM to create external document(URL)

Hi All,
I need to create external document(URL) for equipment and functional location. Manually it is done by clicking a button (called Services for Object) which appears in the left upper corner (on the left side of the transaction heading) and then selecting option (Create External Document URL). Infact this button is availaible in many transactions.
I need FM/BAPI using which i can create external document(URL) to equipment and functional location programmaticaly.

You will need to use function BINARY_RELATION_CREATE for this.
Check how is it handled in function SGOS_URL_CREATE_DIALOG. Also check code in PAI of screen 2400 (subroutine create_url_doc). You will need to use that code.

Hello,
I have this requirement:
Maintenance people would like to relate a document on our portal on a work order to be able to print it with the work order.
My suggestion was to use Services for Object in the Order -> Create external document (url).
But the adress field cannot contain more than 132 characters.
I have URL longer than 132 chars:
eg: http://server.domain:port/irj/go/km/docs/documents/AAI/Gestion%20documentaire/Public/Entretien/Instructions%20de%20travail/EU-IT-01-02.pdf
What do you suggest me?

Thank you Pete but we are release 700 and this note applies to release 620 and older. I will try to find another note or another way.
In the meantime we use the short-ID of SAP Portal Documents which are long to retrieve but always under 132 char.

Not able to connect to E-recruitment Screen with EXternal Candidate URL

HI., when i generate the External candidate URL., by making use of the same i am not able to connect to the portal Screen of E-recruitment.. (I am able to connect with other roles like Recruiter and Employee)
How else can i connect to the Screen to fill the application details in E-recruitment.

Hi,
please make sure that your user is really an external candidate. The logon for external candidates works with the ALIAS instead of the username. Ss if you want to logon with your user as an external candidate you have to enter the username in the field ALIAS within SU01.
