External Procurement with MRP based on sales demand w/o Production unit.

Dear Friends,
Plant AAAA is a central warehouse (Distribution center),from where materials are dispatched to other storage locations.
AAAA is non manufacturing unit and is dealing only with FG's.
Sales demand will come from different storage locations, based on which external procurement of FG's will be started.
1.,how the sales demand can be turned into external procurement through MRP?.
2.Please provide the customization settings to achieve the same.
Regards,
Venkatesh

Hi Venkat,
Try to use the functinality SOP, where you can maintain the demand in the system by T-code MD61 after getting all the sales demand from various locations,
When you run the MRP, this demand will be considered & accordingly procurement proposal will be generated by the MRP run.
Also you can go through below links sublinks for understanding about SOP,

  • External Procurement with a Valuated Sales Order Stock

    Hi Experts,
I read the following in SAP Help,
For external procurement with a Valuated Sales Order Stock, system generates a purchase requisition from the sales order.
If you are using a valuated sales order stock, the externally procured material is assigned to inventory at the time of the goods receipt. If the sales order item is flagged as carrying costs and revenues, then when the goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place, the sales order item is debited with the costs of the externally procured material.
My question is - it says costs of external procurement is debited to sales order item when " goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place"
           - but in my case, when I made the GR for purchase order (created automatically by sales order), system directly posted the procurement cost as actual costs to the sales order item. There is no delivery for sales order done still.
So actually, when should the external procurement cost be debited to sales order item -- when GR for purchase order is done (or) when  goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place?
    Thanks,
    GAN

    Hi Rafi,
Thanks for your reply. I understand the problem now.
Material which comes from prod order is posted statistically (value type 11) to sales order when GR for prod order is done.
Here, the issue is about a GR for purchase order (assigned to sales order). This material purchased is not used in any production process. Its a material which is supplied to customer along with main material produced in house.
In purchase order, I have given the consumption account (which is cost element 1). Entry was Consumption Dr and GR/IR Cr. So, this posted as actual cost to sales order.
I should have given inventory account in purchase order (with cost element 90).
Its a mistake of using consumption account in purchase order.
    Thanks.
    GAN.

  • Costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order

    Dear all,
How the costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order completion?
Edited by: Maulik on Jun 24, 2009 1:59 PM

    Dear Maulik,
check Mr. Vinod's inputs abt costing
    1. Maintain following master data:
MM01 Material Master with Costing and accounting view. Make sure all the cost Std, Moving avg etc is maintained along with valuation class in Accounting view 1. In costing tab pls make sure "with qty structure" and "Material Origin" are ticked.
CS01 BOM with components marked with costing relevance in Status/Long Text Tab. Also check all the qty are correct.
CR01 Work Center in Basic data tab maintain standard value key sau SAP1 and in costing tab maintain the workcenter, activity type and formulas (Usually standard formulas like for Machine Hours SAP006, Labour SAP007, Setup Activity SAP005 is used).
KL01 Cretae activity types, in basic data tab maintain ATyp Category AS "1" and cost element (as provided by your FI Guy).
KP26 Activity pricing, here with the combination of Activity type and the cost center you assign price to the activity.
    2. SPRO Activity
Maintain Costing sheet IMGControllingProd cost controllingProd Cost PlanningBasic settingoverheadsdefine costing sheet.
OKKN Define costing variant, you define costing type (In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to like std price, moving avg etc), Valuation Variant (defines how the prices are prioratized), date control and transfer structure.
    3. Costing Process Flow:
    1. CK11N CREATE COSTING RUN
    2. CK24 CREATE PRICE UPDATE (You Mark and release the prce to be updated)
    4. COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    1. OPL1 DEFINE COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    2. OKK4 or OPN2 DEFINE VALUATION VARIANT
    3. OKK1 or OPM1 DEFINE COSTING TYPE
    4. OPL8 ORDERTYPE DEPENDENT PARAMETER (assign the above creted costing type for both planned and actual)
Hope this will throw some light on product costing.

  • Kanban - External procurement with multiple vendor

    Hi Gurus,
We are working on implementation of Kanban for external procurement (Scheduling agreement) in my organisation. As per the business requirement, some of the components are supplied by more than one vendor. As per the standard process, Kanban supports automated processfor single vendor only & not multiple vendors
Has anybody come across this issue? Could you plese share your experiene & any possible workaround or solution to this isuue
    Thanks
    Kariya

    Hi,
This is how KANBAN works. Since sourcing is automatic.
You could do a couple of things; first, have more than one control cycle, one for each vendor. Drawback is that you also need to have separate kanban containers for each cycle/vendor. But in the case where you have more that one supply area for a material this is not so bad.
Another way could be working with internal demand area, in such a way that Kanban creates a stock transfer reservation. Then you need to process the requirements with MRP, and issue orders to multiple vendors (maybe using quota arrangement).
To ilustrate the solution: your supply area is geting replenishment from the main warehouse, not directly from the vendor. These are two different storage location or plants...

  • KANBAN External Supplier with MRP

We have a requirement to use KANBAN for external vendors and also do forecasting for same materials using MRP.
    Does standard SAP support this?
We are using replenishment strategy 02 ( with SA's ) but it is not working.
    Any ideas ??

    Hi Prashanth,
It makes no sense to have both KANBAN and MRP for he same material in a plant. KANBAN is an alternative method to material requirements planning! That's why also SAP will not allow that.
The only exception is when the material is in-house manufactured, and you want to pass dependent requirements to it's sons in the BOM via MRP planning and explosion of BOM.
If you only need to pass to your supplier some info on future requirements, but still work operatively via KANBAN, you can try using LTP MRP for that (if planning is demand based), or just material forecast (without MRP) if planning is consumption based.

  • Delivery related billing with VF04 based on sales group.

    Hi Expert
I want to do delivery related billing in vf04 but sales group filed is grayed in vf04 so sorting is not possible if i not sort then it will bill to all customer that we dont want ,  i want to bill manually for different Customer on the basis  Sales Group, how to handle this situation. we donu2019t have other  choice such as Shipping point is only one. Even sold to party is same for all site. how to handle this situation.
    thanks
    Mona.

    Hi Mona,
The selection criteria fields for VF04 are hard-coded.
This cannot be done, the fields in the billing due list index are the
the fields in the billing due list (VKDFS) -> these are the only ones
that can be read and available to be added to the billing due list.
The nature of your request indicates that is is rather a consulting
    issue.
    Nevertheless :
A solution for this requirement can look like this (example with
sales office and sales group for RV60SBAT):
Add with an append the new field(s) on table VKDFS
(take care about the customer name space ZZ*)
Fill the fields ZZVKBUR and ZZVKGRP with userexit LV05IF0V
    for Orders
           FORM USEREXIT_VKDFS_SORTKRI_SALES.
            VKDFS-ZZVKBUR = LVBAK-VKBUR.
            VKDFS-ZZVKGRP = LVBAK-VKGRP.
           ENDFORM.
    for Deliveries
           FORM USEREXIT_VKDFS_SORTKRI_DEL.
            VKDFS-ZZVKBUR = LLIKP-VKBUR.
            VKDFS-ZZVKGRP = LLIKP-VKGRP.
          ENDFORM.
You will need to take a copy of RV60SBAT and add these fields to the
selection criteria and the select of VKDFS. See note 25026 which is
for selection via Payer but may provide additional information. Also
    see note 63523.
You will also need to re-build the billing due index VKDFS with
    program RVV05IVB.
I hope this information helps so far.
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Real time Integration between Oracle i-Procurement with MUMPS based System

    Folks,
Has anybody worked on integrating Oracle Applications with any Legacy System? I'm interested in discussing real time integration between Oracle i-Procurement and Legacy System. Can 9iAS Advanced Queue be used to accomplish this?
If anybody has any information on this topic please reply back or email me at [email protected]
    Regards,
    J Ali

Yes, we have experience with the product Oracle9iAS InterConnect. Adapters are provided to integrate with iProcurement and legacy systems. If your legacy system is non-standard either partners might already have adapters or you can use the adapter development kit to build your own specialized adapter. Check out: http://otn.oracle.com/products/integration/index.html
and I would suggest to contact your Oracle account manager to get a detailed product demonstration and references.

My material procurement type = F i.e. External Procurement.
MRP Type = ND in Production server , and VB in Quality
    Lot Size = EX
Material Status :- 15 Pre-release both for Quality and production server
The Material is bulk material and bulk material indicator is set.
Purchasing View is also maintained for the same.
Planning Strat = Z5 Company specific
Special procurement key:- Z7 Company specific
I am running MD02 with following parameters.
    Create Pur Req =1, PR
Create MRP List = 1, MRP List
Delivery Schedule = 3, Schedule Lines
Planning Mode = 2 Re- Explode BOM & Routing
    Scheduling = 1
    Issue:
After MRP run, system is  generating PR, Though with MRP type ND purchase requisition should not be generated.
Observation:- Looks like there is inconsistency of material date in Quality and production server.
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release.
After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "
We havent been able to locate the root cause so far

    There is no link
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release. After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "
system will read the X plant  material status or plant specific material status first and then only system will read MRP type

  • Different PR type for Eternal Procurement with Subcontracting

    Hi,
We have some material with external procurement with special procurement key as 30  , as when we run the MRP default document type is NB with this PR is generated we have created new PR type as ZSUB  and same is assing in OMDT under MRP group in document type SC but even after this setting when we run the MRP  for such material the PR is generated with type NB only  so what settign is required for this.
    regards,
    zafar

    Hi
    Make sure the following
1 Document type for PR with allowed item category L
2 OMDT assign Doc type for MRP grp, make sure you assigned in the 2nd column Document type for SC
3 In Material Master MRP1 view assign the MRP grp
4 In Material Master MRP 2 viem assign special procurement 30 - subcontracting
5 if you want the system to assign the vendor automatically maintain Source list
It will work fine if the above setting are correct.

  • Cross Plant Planning for External procured Material in MRP with their stock

    Dear Gurus,
I have one requirement my client want Cross plant planning in MRP. this plants are only site plants no Manufacturing. All materials in these plants are Externally Procure Materials(F). Now they want cross plant planning  for Externally Procure Materials or cross plant planning  for Externally Procure Materials  with consider all plant stock details while planning.
can you tell me procedure for this,
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Devraj

    Hi,
In R/3 you cannot consider all plants in planning, you have to use SAP APO to achieve your goal (if your goal is to optimize the procurement in your plants). When you execute MRP run in R/3 it will only consider the details of one single plant.
I mean if you have several plants used for external procurement, and you want to make an optimal decision considering all the stocks and open transactional data, requirements in those plants, it is not possible in R/3 as per my knowledge - multi site/plant planning won't give you such optimal solutiion.

  • Kanban With MRP and with External vendors

We are implementing SAP 4.7 for one of clients and here is the requirement:
They want to use Kanban with external vendors where  once  KANBAN is empty, it should create a schedule line for the defined scheduling agreement. Problem is , we have to exclude the material  from MRP in order to work with "External Purchase Orders" or "Scheduling Agreement" replenishryment category.
They   do not want to exclude the KANBAN materials from MRP but want to use KANBAN for procurement with vendors.
    Is this possible?
Because when we try replenishment strategy " Working with MRP" , SAP does not create any PO or Schedule line desite of maintaining all the data. Instead, SAP allows replenishment elements created in MRP run to flow thru and create PO/ Schedule lines.
Is it possible to include the material in plant MRP and still use external procurement kanban?

    Hi Vikas
Ia m not familiar with  asynchronous MRP.  Can you elaborate on that? What specific settings  we need to make for that?
    Thanks for your help.

  • No sales orders with MRP-relevant requirements were found MD04

    Hello MM Enthusiast,
We are in process of EHP upgradation and I need to replicate the following error message,
No sales orders with MRP-relevant requirements were found
    Error message MF 336
Please let me know how to get the above message in S environment.
I have gone through the already discussed thread (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3460655) but couldn't able to get the message MF 336.
Based on your response I can replicate and apply the causing / resolving note given by SAP AG.
Looking forward to your valuable input to proceed further on this issue
    Cheers,
    Kumar S

This issue was solved using a different availability checking rule in MRP3 of the material master.
the old checking rule  had a requirements summary, while the new was for individual requirements, this setting is defined in OVZ2 customizing transaction.
Hence you need to enter a checking rule in your material master which has a A as sales requirement in OVZ2.
then create 2 or more new sales orders for this item for the same delivery date.
After that you should get the error in MD04

  • MRP - Create Planned Orders only for Externally Procured Materials

    Dear All,
We have a scenario that our client gives us the daily requirement schedule for the current month and a monthly forecast for future months so that we can plan our externally procured materials based on the forecast.
Now I only want the MRP run to create Planned Orders for HALB and FERT based on my current months daily schedule and planned orders for ROH (Externally Procured) based on the next months forecast (monthly).
I dont want the system to create planned orders for HALB and FERT from the forecast. The requirement for the ROH are however derived from the Finished Good BOM and the forecast is also given for the FERT material. I know its a long shot but is there a possibility in the system to do such a thing or a work around?

Your business case is not clear; MRP will create planned orders for inhouse produced materials, and either planned orders or purchase requisitions for external procurement.
You can choose to convert or release external procurement for a long time ahead (eventhough taht if you have proper lead times defined you can release by lead time), but convert inhouse planned orders to production orders only for next period (week, month). Actually this is common practice.
So I fail to understand your problem.
