External user list synchronisation with Login Server

Hello:
I am using a Portal external applications to allow users to access the application from Portal without having to login again.
If the username or password of the extenal application should change, how can this be synchronised with login server?

There is no automatic way that passwords are synced between the login server and the external application. The user is responsible for updating the login server's stored password for the external app when the user updates it in the external app.
This is done by clicking Customize on the External Applications portlet and clicking the "Edit" icon beside the application of interest.

External Users not able to login to Essbase Admin Services.

Hi,
We are facing strange problem in one of our Essbase 9x environments. In this environment, we installed Shared Services, Essbase Admin Services in one server and Essbase in another server.
We configured MSAD and provisioned some users. Now, these users are able to login to Essbase, Shared Services without any issues but not to EAS. Whats more strange is, Native users are not facing any issue while logging to EAS, Essbase. Just externally authenticated users are having this problem.
We checked the logs, but nothing to deduct from them. The EAS screen is just hanging as soon as credentials are entered. We did lot of troubleshooting and even Oracle Support is working
and is of the opinion that the issue is because we installed EAS Console on Virtual Machine which is out of their policy.
Any suggestions are welcome!!

I found something that may help or you may have seen this and rectified it already.
When i started the services in foreground, External users are able to login.
This is what i got in the cmd prompt.

User listing unavailable on login window

Hey!
Ever since I upgraded to Leopard (10.5.1) my login window has changed from user listing to requiring a username and a password. If I set it to "List of users" the login window still asks for a username, and weirdly the "Show the restart, sleep and shutdown buttons" will cease functioning as well, i.e. no matter if I check it or not no buttons show up.
I have tried deleting all the com.apple.loginwindow.plist files in both my home and the root library to no avail.
Is this a Leopard-specific bug or maybe a result of upgrading directly from Tiger? Any ideas as to what i could do, please?

I created a new admin user account: when I logged out now only the new admin account was selectable, my old one was accessible only when clicking "Other..." and typing in the account name. So it did kind of solve the problem, but not how I wanted it.
Looks like as is my old account is like the Administrator/root account, that does not appear on the user listing. I read somewhere that some of the plist files control which users are added to the login screen, maybe I can meddle with that?
I cannot reinstall 10.5.1, my Install DVD came with it built-in.

Predefault "User Name" field with Login Name

Hi,
Predefault in "LS Medical User Verification" BC does not work. I tried to do the following but all did not work:
* Put a predefault value in the "User Name" field, System: Creator
* Create a calc field "SCR Login", calc value: LoginName (). Set predefault of "User Name" field, Field: 'SCR Login"
* Expose "SCR Login" in the applet. Field is blank in UI.
We are using the vanilla "LS Medical User Verification Applet" for user verification and we want to predefault the User Name field with the current user logged in. How can I achieve this?

Hi,
I believe Predefault/Postdefault will only work with NewRecord even and since the User Verification Popup Applet does not go to that event on load that is why it does not work.
Since the client wanted to default the user name with the current user logged in, we just removed the User name field from the popup applet and pass the TheApplication().LoginName() to the Authentication Business Service.

The users inbound organizacion use lync 2013 good, i deploy a edge server for external connection but, when i try to connect, receive the next message: "can not log into lync because the server is temporarily unavailable".
already test the certificate, ports and the cms replica. this components are good.
i don´t know, what can i do.

Did you use single IP and FQDN for the SIP access, Web Conferencing service and A/V service?
Did you use private IP with NAT or public IP directly on Edge external interface?
Please tell us more detail about the configuration of Edge server.
You can use Lync 2013 remote connectivity analyzer to check which step goes wrong.

User Profile Disks with Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 VDI

Hello experts!
We are building a new server setup for the office and are unable to figure out why UPD will not work. We have VDI setup and a user for instance
connecting through the RDWeb workplace will dynamically get one of the available Windows 8 Machines delivered through Hyper-V and can successfully login on this machine via Active Directory. So far so good...
However, when we activate the User Profile Disks "UPD" feature the login takes forever and the VHDX will not mount on c:\users\...
as expected within the virtual Windows 8 machine.
The UPD config is quite simple, with just the path "\\vmhost\upd\" set. This share has (now during test) full access for everyone,
both on share level and on security level, but still the VHDX will not mount.
The UVHD-template.vhdx file gets created just fine when UPD is activated, and during login through RDWeb a TEMP-UVHD-S-1-5-21-1477358240-4159876597-995667825-500.vhdx
gets created, but there it stops... The login process takes a couple of minutes by the "Windows förbereds" (roughly translated to English "Preparing Windows"), and then the user gets logged in with a temporary profile.
- The event log says (translated using Google translate):
Failed to obtain a user profile disk for the user account with SID S-1-5-21-1477358240-4159876597-995667825-500.
Make sure the location of the user profile desk can be reached, the server's computer account has read and write permissions to the site and that there is a template file for user profile disks at the site.

Adobe Connect prevents external users from connecting via Edge Server

RFC User for Connectivity with ABAP Server Proxy Required?

Hi people,
I am just wondering how I set-up my connectivity between XI and my business system B.
Our basis already set-up the connection to the runtime workbench from B->XI
For that sake they've added the xirwbuser to B (Xi has it as well, of course).
Now I am configuring the whole thing in the Directory. There I need an receiver agreement and a channel. For that I take the adapter type "XI". Anyway, I need to give here an RFC destination as well. I've added one of type "H".
And now the issue: Do I really need a separate user for that rfc connection? I thought with proxies the systems are somewhat like "hard-wired" and do not need special users.
Anyway, if I need a dedicated RFC user: Is a certain role enough or do I need special roles depending on the stuff I am doing in the business system?

You can of course use an existing service user.
But for monitoring purpose it is receommended to use a seperate user. (Think about system log entries).
The user needs the role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER.

Deleted User Master Data with SQL Server Management Studio

Hi All
I've, recently restored an ECC 6.0 backup onto a test system. In an attempt to quickly delete most of the User Master Data from the source system, I deleted the User ID's from the USR02 table using SQL Management Studio.
But within Transaction su01, the User ID's that were deleted that way, still show up in the "F4" search. I can select one of those deleted ID's, but get an informational pop up stating that the user does not exist, if I go to display.
Does anyone know of a quick way to delete these User ID's from the "F4" search pop up?
The only way I've found so far is to select the User ID, recreate it and then delete it from the su01 transaction. This is going to take me hours.
Tried to save time, but caused more of a head ache.

Yes, I have done this in the past as well. Although for this instance, I needed to keep about 20 of the 100 + User ID's that were in the system, and was hoping for an easy way to do it.
In Table USR02, it was easy to pick all, but the 20 and delete. (Sometimes we think we're smarter than we really are I've since spoken to a Security team member and found out about there's a way to do "Mass" changes in transaction su01.

External users can communicate web server, Internal users can't communicate

This Babu, I have Cisco - 1941 and ASA 5510, ISP was terminated on Router point ot point connectivity(10.10.10.0/30). Router isdie ip is Public ip
(49.49.49.1/28), firewall inside ip is 49.49.49.2 and i have done nating in firewall with private ip 192.168.1.0/24.
we have web server, this is also connected in Intranet, this internal ip was 192.168.1.13 nat with publi ip 49.49.49.13.
In this scenario all external users can communicate with web server ie www.example.com. but internal users can't communicate with www.example.com
All internal user able to ping the web server with 192.168.1.13 successfully and get the internet also.
Please help me, what is the problem...

my user tried the following :
- went to http://oraclepartnernetwork.oracle.com/
- at top of the page, click on the "Register / Sign In" link.
- entered user name [email protected], and password (he tried also with a reset system generated password)
- got "Invalid Login" Error
so it seems the issue is not with beehive online, but with SSO to start with...
my other sun.com users have the same issue. Could it be a restriction on Sun.com domain ?
I understand now my issue is not with beehive online, so don't hesitate to redirect me to the appropriate support team if necessary.

After synchronising with the server i am not able to start the MIclient it gives the error as <b>"start failed"</b>. But before synchronising, MIclient was working fine.This error has occured when i tried to download and start the aplication as an end user.in the webconsole the status is displayed as <u>"delete with next synchronisation"</u>.will this status in the webconsole matter.

External users cannot manage a persistent chat rooms - result in "Internal Server Errors"

I have small Lync setup based on a Standard Edition server, with the Persistent Chat server co-located on the SE. User within the organisation can manage chat room just fine via the web interface, yet external users are presented with an Internal Server
Error.
Looking at IIS, I can see an Application added to the Lync Internal Web site for Persistent Chat (which points to a physical location of "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Web Components\PersistentChat\Int"), and on the Lync External
site, I see a virtual directory pointing to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Web Components\PersistentChat\Ext".
Trying to navigate to the external site (on port 4443) on the SE server results in the following error:

I am new to Oracle portal and LDAP and learning more and more about Portal every day.

I am using Oracle 9iAS portal 3.0.9 version. I have a requirement to integrate 3rd party LDAP with Oracle Portal Single Sign On. I have white paper on Configuring Oracle9iAS Portal for LDAP authentication. I have following questions
Paragraph from white paper (Background information):
When using LDAP authentication or any other external repository, for that matter- the list of users for authentication is held on the external repository. However, there is also a list of users held on the Login server, which is used to associate privileges to the user. Ideally, this list is maintained transparently and automatically. In fact, if a user account is created on LDAP and a user attempts to log in, the login will succeed, and an entry is automatically created on the login server for that user, after a successful login.
Questions:
1.     What privileges user will be granted when synchronization process create new portal user on login server automatically?
2.     Is it possible to customize whatever default privileges new portal user gets? If yes, how? Please provide some forum link or documentation or example.
Unique user Id scenario.
Our LDAP repository is setup for customers from different companies. We have requirement to integrate LDAP users with Oracle 9iAS portal 3.0.9 Single Sign On. I have two userid with same name on the LDAP from different company. For example userid jsmith from company A and jsmith from company B. Both user id do not exist on Portal Login Server. Both userids will be created automatically in Login server when LDAP and Portal synchronize user list.
1.     How oracle portal will handle such scenario when portal requires unique userid?
2.     Can I customize portal login screen? For example when they login they can provide userid, passwd and domain name. Where domain name could be company name.

For 1, you can have the user removed from OUL in OOB scenarios, but behind IP phones it's difficult since we won't know when the PC is offline from there. Only way to know that is when CAM receives a MAC-Notification of a new MAC address being learnt. In IB, you can use heartbeat timers to log them out
For 2, when a new MAC address is seen on the port, the MAC-Notification is sent out, and depending on your port profile the switchport will change or not. Check your port profile settings for more details on how you have it setup.

Partner Application and Login Server

I have created a partner application using the samples provided in the ssosdk. In the SSOSignServlet I am checking a table to determine if the user returned from the login server has access to the partner application. If the user has access, I set the cookie and the user is redirected to the application. If the user does not have access, am not sure how to handle it. I can use response.sendRedirect(response.encodeUrl(m_cancelUrl), yet would rather display a message indicating that dont have access and are being redirected. If I try to output a message in the SSOSignOnServlet, I get into a loop. ANy ideas?

I finally got it working by VERY CAREFULLY reading the instructions in the install.txt document in the SSO SDK package. You have to set up the partner application with a new schema in the login server database, and run the regapp.sql script AFTER editing it to insert data from the Login Server Partner Application admin screen. After you register the partner app in Portal, it gives you some info (site token, listener token, encryption key, etc). You have to MANUALLY copy these and paste them into the regapp.sql script, then run the script in the partner app schema. Make sure you don't confuse capital I with numeral 1 (like I did, since Oracle so nicely uses a non-serif font where you can not tell the difference).
Also make sure you copy the exact values for these parameters into your code when you use the SSOEnabler class. The listener token was very confusing since different documents appear to disagree on whether it should include the partner app name or not. It does require the partner app name:
app-name:hostname:port
hostname and port are for the web server that is handling http requests for the login server (usually your main portal web server).
